Bought for my 90 year old Mum who was struggling with the heat. She is delighted with it . The remote needed a new battery and that was quire fiddly.
Is it a wonderful piece of engineering…. Yes
Is it worth the price tag compared to a sub 100 model….. not really
If you have 300+ to throw away on things like fans then you can not go wrong but please don’t break the bank to get this, thinking you will be getting something so much better.
Very pleased with the performance of the fan it has 10 speeds and the remote makes it so convenient also very quiet and easy to keep clean unlike fans of the past.
Can stand on the floor or work surface. Was worth it’s weight in gold this summer but very expensive. Very safe for children apart from it’s very light so they can easily lift it.
Fantastic service on delivery as well. Great company service!!!
Great fan but is it worth the money. I’m not sure have got a Dimplex fan which is just as good. We’ll see which last the longest as am using one in lounge and one in kitchen.
My only criticism concerns its portability. If you wish to move the fan, you are instructed not to lift it by the fan column but only by the base of the unit. This makes it a little awkward – not that it’s by any means too heavy, but carrying a unit that tall by the extreme base creates a feeling of less than ideal stability.
Nevertheless, I bought a universal travel adapter for a few pounds and it works perfectly, an unexpected additional expense but well worth it, just something to be aware of if considering buying this item.
We recently moved to a place that gets a lot of evening sun in an area that is noisy if the windows are open, so this has provided a nice flow of air and without being too loud on settings 1-3 or 4. As you turn it up towards 10, it does get rather loud, but if it’s during the day, it’s totally worth it for the resultant cooling effect you get. Very much recommended.
Anyway
I decided to get a second fan for my bedroom and even though the Dyson fans are still silly money for a fan (especially a non wifi equipped one) they are great fans and quiet, very quiet, perfect for bedroom cooling, the AM-07 is a taller fan and outputs twice the air that the smaller 06 does so I decided to get one and it has been superb, the bigger opening makes the air movement feel like a wall of air where as the 06 feels like a cone of air, even on its lowest setting it cools the room down fast and is whisper quiet, money well spent.
This was bought to donate to the local hospital. This is what they asked for. We tested it and it works great. Hardly any noise and you can feel it from a good distance away. 10 settings and all with remote control.
It was delivered very quickly, and assembled equally fast without recourse to instructions (the instructions are very clear if they are needed).
It is extremely quiet, in comparison with bladed fans — but the lowest setting it hums gently like the fan in an aeroplane on its lowest setting. Which is ironic given that it shares an aerofoil design, though in the case of the airborne vehicle that is obviously outside.
You don’t need to tell you: it looks very cool!
