Brilliant Projector! The only negative is noise in general, Fan noise is higher than expected, and wierd beeping noises while warming up.
Absolutely love it.
We ordered this and the model up but found this one to be better.
We’ve used it to watch films, programs & home-recorded clips and it’s FAB.
I bought to replace my old Optoma 145x. Picture is way better, operates way more quietly. It is amazing . but. it’s huge. And I mean huge. I had Optoma on a normal IKEA floating shelf. I’m going to need to cut into the wall to get this in the same place. But brilliant performance so I’m still happy I upgraded
Bought this as an upgrade for the 1080p version (TW6700). It is projected from ceiling height across our lounge (around 4m) onto a 100 inch pull down screen.
Good bright clear and detailed picture with good colour saturation. Contrast is good and the picture is still good in moderate light. e.g. with lights on in the evening. Obviously you dont get full deep blacks, but it’s good at the price.
It’s a 3 LCD design, so it doesnt suffer from irritating colour fringing when you blink like DLP projectors.
Cant comment on the speaker because I use this with an AV amp.
Fan can be a bit noisy, but you get used to it.
upscaling 1080p is an improvement from the older tw6700, but obviously when it is fed with true 4k it is best. Bought an Amazon fire 4k cube unit for netflix/prime/disney in 4k for about 100
Recommended.
Superb picture quality and bright enough to operate during the day with ambient light.
Slightly loud fan noise, Bluetooth audio has some lag.
Replaced a Vivitek 4K (cost 1500 3 years ago – repair was going to cost more than buying this).
I think picture quality just as good, (I’ve probably not quite sorted the alignment properly as yet – as One side of the picture not quite as sharp as the other side).
Overall not disappointed.
The best quality projector for the price on the market.
A great projector & a fair improvement over my previous projector (epson EH-TW740)
The quality is great even when projecting a 1080 image via a nvidia shield with AI upscaling.
The projector itself is massive compared to my previous one & ive had to move it back a meter to get the same screen size. The lens shift makes fine tuning easy aswell as the optical zoom.
The 3d side of this projector is a bit of a pain, you can’t just fire up a 3d film & expect it to work as the 3d setting reman greyed out. I did read various posts saying you had to reduce the input resolution for it to work which made no difference for me. I couldn’t get it to work using plex or youtube on shield or apple tv.
I finally got 3d to work by using kodi with the resolution reduced to 720 within kodi (no other apps worked) The picture quality was good but i think 3d has had its day now & probably won’t be used much.
Overall, a very good projector for the price with an excellent quality picture.
Superb Pro-UHD pixel shift, you’ll be hard pressed to tell it’s not native 4K below 150″. Runs really quiet in eco mode and fantastic zoom range and lens shift make it very flexible to install.
There nothing I don’t like about this projector. I did have the sonic view 4k projector .but trust me it was well worth paying the extra money really glad I did you won’t be disappointed with the picture quality it is second to none
It’s not very clear from the description, but the EH-TW7000 has no internal loudspeaker. So you can’t hear any sound at all unless you hook in up to another speaker of some sort. It works well with Bluetooth speakers- I’ve used the Wonderboom 2 Bluetooth speaker with no problems. The EH-TW7100 does have an internal speaker.
Oh my, what have I done? I finally took the plunge, sold the 55″ telly and bought this shiny white beast. And what a beast it is! The images at 150″ are stunningly clear, bright and contain rich colouring and detail. Viewing with blackout curtains or from dusk onwards is recommended as it does not have quite the brightness to view in daytime. Although not true 4K, at this price point there is no reason to complain. The speakers are adequately loud enough, but as the projector allows you to connect your smart speaker/s via bluetooth you might want to use alternatives. I decided to buy a bluetooth gizmo for a few quid to connect my amplifier to it. The fan, though not whisper quiet, is certainly unobtrusive and should not provide any unwelcome distraction. I have connected a wifi Roku stick to the projector and can play all the apps through it including; Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. Watching the animated series ‘Love, Death and Robots’ (Netflix) on this projector is mind-blowing and so is the remastered Star Wars IV 4K version. Natural history programs are especially astounding.
This projector is an excellent purchase and its long lamp life should provide thousands of hours of quality viewing – cosily away from the unfortunate distractions sometimes experienced inside the movie theatre today.
We use this as a home cinema and we have been blown away with how good it is! Although it’s bright, you do need to have decent curtains or blinds up to watch during the day.
Very good colour and impressive brightness. Very sharp in 4K mode, however in 1080P mode it doesn’t feel much different to my old TW5350.
My device couldn’t recognize it as a HDR display so HDR doesn’t work properly. Also the left side of the image appears a lot cooler than the right side with my unit. Had to return it because of these two issues.
Good projector. Very bright too. Ain’t a true 4k projector but the picture quality is very good. Lacks in the blacks but every projector I’ve had has been like that.
Delivers a brilliant image and inbuilt speakers a bonus but a bit Tinny. bought for use around the house maybe pop up garden cinema for friends and family, here and there, to find it’s quite a delicate machine that is ideal for a fixed set up rather than pack away and move around. Description of blue tooth is vague. Basically you can’t blue tooth to it only out of it to say a speaker. I was hoping to wirelessly send images from devices to it like with a smart TV but if you can like I was leasd to believe from description then, I’m still trying to figure that out. Don’t be tempted if buying from Amazon to purchase suggested Amazon fire stick. it is good but go buy from Tescos or other retailer, they’re half the price of Amazon.
Note: Had to return the item due to an issue with the unit not being able to focus properly. Don’t know if this is widespread issue or not so leaving the review for others to look out for it. As such I’ve rated it as if it didn’t have the fault, but hopefully these comments will at least warn people to look out for this issue.
Bought this as a replacement/upgrade to my TW-6600. Picture image was really good, brightness and contrast superb.
However, it was impossible to focus the image across the whole screen. Would focus on the left side or the right but never both. With such a clear image on the focused part, it was really obvious the other side was out of focus.
Might have been just this unit had dodgy optics, but as out of stock at present I can’t get a replacement to confirm. Would be willing to try another once they are available as overall was a good upgrade to the TW-6600 if it had only worked fully!
Amazon returns processed the return without issue. They offered replacement initially, but no more in stock. There was an option for repair, but I don’t want to go through the process of repairing a unit that should be fully functional as it is brand new, hence went for return and refund.
Great LCD projector brilliant picture quality Setup was a breeze used as a tv Fan
noise is very quiet 3D is brilliant colourful and crisp picture very happy with this
Epson EH-TW7000 3LCD 4K PRO-UHD
For the price this is a very impressive projector, picture quality, including 3D is good. Shame there are no inbuilt speakers. Menu system can be a bit frustrating, but the flexability including the lens shift, make it easy to position.
Bough this based on What Hi-Fi 2020 Award Winner 5 star review. Excellent projector for the price, not native 4K (impossible at this price) but great upscaled 4K from digital sources. My Roku+ stick gives great UHD Netflix / Disney+ / Prime Video etc. Tested with a few YouTube 4K demo clips and looks amazing. Also, I run a standard PlayStation 4 through it and it is way better upscaled. Call of Duty Warzone runs in HDR on this projector and look great.
excellent picture quality and very easy to set up. no problem what so ever.
I’ve been watching freesat through a wall mounted Panasonic Plasma TV and although the picture is still great, I was tempted with todays available larger sizes. The good quality large branded TV’s can be quite expensive so I had a look into projectors. It was impossible in my area to get a demo of any home cinema projector but after extensive research on google, I ended up with a EH-TW7000 and I’ve been delighted with it (I’ve had it for exactly a year.)
I retained my TV with the intention of only using the projector for films and other ‘serious’ programmes, but that soon fell by the wayside – we now use the projector constantly.
My setup has the projector ceiling mounted above our heads displaying the image (at 100 inches) onto a screen which descends electrically as required, an inch or two in front of the existing TV. Everything plays through an Onkyo receiver/sound system (Freesat, Firestick, Bluray, Xbox, CCTV (bird box cameras).)
The picture has been excellent from initial set up (until in the last two weeks – explanation follows later). As a newbie to projectors, it was a bit intimidating doing the initial setup but in reality it was very easy. The quality of image is fairly well documented across all reviews but the main reason for writing this one, is to highlight an issue that I have not found documented anywhere else.
A couple of weeks ago while watching freesat, which is our norm, the picture quality became high contrast with highly saturated reds (image attached). I played with the image settings which improved things slightly but not entirely. I also ordered up a replacement lamp just in case – will need it in the future anyway. I checked the settings on the freest box but there was nothing to adjust. I checked the same image through the TV and that was fine. The image worsened each day until eventually I contacted Epson support. They responded quickly and asked me to do a projector reset and if still an issue, to forward a photo of the picture. I had already tried a reset which made no difference, so replied with a photo of the issue. Again quite quickly, Epson support replied accepting the problem and suggested a firmware upgrade and attached the link to the relevant files and instructions. I tried to update (which was difficult to get to work) and did another total reset but this made no difference. I decided to dig out a film that with a lot of red, would really highlight the issue and send a photo of that to Epson support. I chose a Blu-ray disk of ‘Zulu’ with all the redcoats – that would glare! I was surprised that the image was awesome! This suggested the freesat box was the issue even although there was no problem with the picture when played through the TV! As the freesat box is always on (only going in and out of standby) I decided to completely power it down and restart it. As if by magic – the problem manifesting itself through the projector went away.
Although this experience is not directly relevant to a review, I felt that it should be mentioned as the projector is only as good as the weakest part of a whole system.
To recap on the EH-TW7000, I think that it’s brilliant and would definitely buy again!
A great projector and upgrade from my previous Epson full HD projector. Great picture quality and a bright image. Amazon service has been excellent also.
Excellent picture clarity and brightness. After a couple of months it started exhibiting green spot on the left side of the screen. Such spot is visible when a black color image is displayed. Scared whether it multiplies or no
Easy to use and set up impressed with brightness and picture quality really pleased
I’m really pleased with this projector.
The main reason I selected this one is because of massive range of throw ratios and the amount of vertical and horizontal lens adjustment. I’m projecting almost 4 metres to a 100 inch screen, and about 500mm off-centre horizontally and it copes with this perfectly.
My only reservation is that, although it has built-in bluetooth it is Bluetooth 3 which leads to some delay in transmitting the sound so that lips don’t sync perfectly with the speech. To cure this I bought a Bluetooth 5 transmitter and receiver, plugged the transmitter into the 3.5mm jack on the projector and the receiver into the back if my hifi amp – result minimal delay and much improved sound quality. Almost as good as a wired connection.
The picture quality is superb. I receive streamed content through a Firestick plugged into one of 2 HDMI ports and this works perfectly. The picture is bright enough to not need full blackout and there are 4 settings so that the brightness can be toned down if required.
The other HDMI port is connected to a X box for use with gaming and watching Blu Ray and regular DVDs.
After researching many projectors whilst I was saving for one I decided on the Epson EH-TH7100. When I first set it up I projected onto a light grey wall and it looked awful. I experimented with some dark grey paint and the projected image became very very good. The biggest concern for people and projectors is contrast and how good the blacks are. I don’t have any issue in this regard. I expected the 4k quality to be a bit better if I’m honest, I look at a 4k video and it does look sharp but not has sharp as a 4k should be. I know the Optoma’s do better in this regard. It’s very good for gaming because it has low input lag and the onboard APTX Bluetooth is a godsend with no Audio Lag whatsoever with my APTX compatible headphones. Fan noise is not an issue until high is selected but this is only needed during the day in an uncontrolled room, and when the volume is up I don’t hear any mention of it from the family. They dont notice it at all in Eco and Normal. So, if you are shopping for a projector that is super sharp then I would go elsewhere otherwise the image is fantastic, gaming and Bluetooth audio top notch but you will need a grey screen possibly even Ambient Light rejecting to get the most out of this projector.
Having previously had a number of cheaper LCD projectors from Chinese branded companies which to be honest were fairly good but I could never get that amazing looking picture I was after. My old projector which was only few months old had been great when I first brought it but already I could see a deterioration in picture quality which for a few month old projector was totally unacceptable. Somehow dust had managed to get into the sealed lens unit even though the filters had been regularly cleaned and there was a coloured hotspot Type circle noticeable on blue pictures. So finally I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a proper quality projector. After a bit of research it became clear that both Epson & BenQ made amazing quality projectors and after a bit more research I finally decided that the way forward for me was with Epson as they were a huge brand I had trusted before for other products and not been let down by.
I was originally going to just buy a decent 1080P projector at around 600-700 but then I noticed this TW7000 which through clever technology could actually do a very decent 4K projection. Costing only 300 more than the 1080p projectors I had previously been looking at. Ok the TW7000 doesn’t have built in speakers (TW7100 does) but for me this wasn’t a problem as I would have it set up either through my surround sound system or via Bluetooth anyway so I didn’t need built in speakers which from past experience had never sounded any good in a projector anyway.
When the projector arrived the first thing I noticed was the difference in weight to my previous cheap Chinese projectors. This projector was much heavier but then rather than 1 LCD this does have 3 LCDs & rather than a led bulb it has a proper projector bulb which is much better and although the bulb won’t last anywhere near that of a LED light at least it is replaceable.
I soon swapped over the old projector with my new epson even being able to use the same ceiling mount my old projectors had been using. Immediately Upon turning on the projector the difference in picture quality between the cheaper projectors and this one was blindingly evident. The colours jumped out of the screen vibrant and true with blacks and whites exactly that black and white. It was literally like having a 120″ 4K TV mounted on my wall it was so crisp and colourful.
Setup was a total breeze. Unlike cheaper projectors where I have spent hours trying to get the picture setup on my screen having to use the keystone correction to get the picture in the right position and straight but then ending up having problems with the whole projection being crisp and in focus or having it all in focus but not having the keystone completely straight. The epson brilliantly has 2 dials where you can physically move the angles of the lens up/down left/right making positioning so much easier meaning less need to play around with keystones. Even using the keystones to make the picture totally correct unlike the other projectors the whole screen is perfectly in focus and crisp.
Picture quality is beyond amazing and although I am keeping all my old projectors for Halloween and Christmas outdoor/indoor decorations. I will never go back to the cheaper projectors for use as a watching source.
I love the way you can also connect 3D Bluetooth shutter glasses to this projector. I finally got to watch my first 3D film at home using it the other day when I watched THE WALK and with the screen managing to take up 90% of my Field of View it made me feel as though I was there myself. Although Not the best film to watch let alone in 3D if your scared of heights.
Been using this projector every day for a couple of months now and can not find a single fault with it.
Epson projectors May not be cheap but by god you get what you pay for.
One of the best quality projector , Crystal clear picture , very decent 4K projector! I really liked the Bluetooth connectivity! This doesn’t read any usb drives to play ur stored / downloaded movies
This is an excellent 4k projector and the picture quality is stunning in darkness. I would not suggest use in normal light conditions. The only negative was the the power cable was only 2 meters which is very short for a projector that could be mounted on the ceiling. I had to purchase a seperate 10m power cable for where mine is mounted, and felt that for the price this should have been included as an option.
I have an older Epson ehtw3200 and have had my eye on this as an upgrade.
Wow it’s good, the “cinema” brightness setting which is traditionally subdued and quiet is sooo much brighter. Don’t get me wrong this machine is quiet, after the initial boot up the fan calms down and inside of 2-3 mins it’s a whisper.
The brightness and contrast are something to behold. I have made a jump from the 1080p version to the 4k and it genuinely feels like a jump in picture quality, I have mine set up on the ceiling off centre pointing to the wall approx 15 ft away I can toggle the picture from 80in all the way to 300in. If I had a bigger room theoretically it can produce a 500in picture. Despite this size the picture is bright and detailed.
There are some very good big screen TVs out there, if you want size and clarity don’t hesitate, this is what you want.
Remember I said I have the machine off center? This particular machine has “lens shift” just like my last one, this is quite rare with other brands tending to favour “key stone correction”. Lens shift means you can physically move the lens to point it where you want on the wall, key stone can do this minimally and digitally so you can lose picture quality, I find keystone clunky, the lens shift on this is perfect.
It’s a deal it’s a steal it’s the sale of the .. century. I’m well pleased
