Scanns all my documents even though it has a maximum width it has still many sizes it can scan.
I have never used it outside my room so I cannot really talk much about how much it can be really used while travelling but it do be pretty small and compact so I can imagine it being used while on the go.
Also it has a battery so just charge it at home and use it wirelessly with your phone or laptop.
Mein liebstes Gert zur Zeit im Haus. Aufgrund der Erkrankung meines Mannes fllt bei uns viel Papierkram an, der gespeichert und auch weitergeleitet werden muss. Das klappt auf Anhieb, gut erklrt, geht mit einer App vom Smartphone aus und auch vom PC. Auch Visitenkarten werden problemlos eingezogen. Das Gert kann so eingestellt werden, dass es das jeweilige Format selbst erkennt. Hier also ntzlich und aufgrund der Gre und des Akkus an jedem Ort einsatzbereit.
Der Scanner ist ein berwiegend gut durchdachtes und sehr flexibles bzw. mobiles Gert. Die Qualitt des Scans ist durchwachsen. Ich hatte ziemliche Schwierigkeiten mit schwach kontrastierten Dokumenten. Allerdings sind die sonstigen Ergebnisse durchschnittlich bis gut. Das was die Bewertung fr das Gert wirklich drckt ist das Lademanagement des Akkus. Der nach Abmeldung im Hardwaremanagement meines Mac oder des Steuerprogramms gnadenlos leer luft und dann irgendwann – wie bei mir bereits bei einem anderen ES-60w geschehen – den Akku so schdigt, dass er nicht mehr funktioniert. Das Handbuch bietet in dieser Hinsicht nicht hilfreich. Also muss man extrem aufpassen, wobei das Entladen auch manchmal nicht bemerkt wird, weil es nur einen unscheinbaren Hinweis auf den Ausstieg gibt. Daher gibt es keine wirkliche Empfehlung fr das Gert.

I don’t file invoices, petrol receipts etc. any more. I put them through the slot.
Doesn’t do double sided or multiple sheets but that’s not to be expected of a scanner about 2″ square and A4 wide.
This product is fantastic when it works properly but I have found that I often have to clean the inside as it starts to show a line down every copy – can be frustrating when I have a lot of paperwork to scan but otherwise it does what is says – lightweight and easily portable which is ideal!
I purchased the ES-580W and it’s a lovely looking device, and smaller than I thought it would be. I’ve actually put it on the front room next to a vase as I like looking at it. I often go to court to defend my data protection rights and this process generates a lot of paperwork. I’ve been using the Canon imageFormula P-150 for many years but I had so many issues with double-feeds that I have to feed each page in one by one. It did a good job though. So, the main criteria for this scanner was that it needed to have the technology to prevent double-feeds. I also liked the idea of scanning directly to USB without having to use my PC.
I had it up and running within minutes and I was scanning to USB. I was a bit concerned at first because it started beeping every time I pressed a button on the screen and that would have done my head in but fortunately there’s an option to set the sound to zero. I’ve also figured out how to set my user settings — 600dpi, colour, PDF, single document, duplex. When I get any post now, all I need to do is turn it on, scan the letter to USB and shred it. It took about 10 minutes to scan a 30 page document and I think it is the saving to USB process that is slows it down. It’s not an issue though for someone who is used to scanning page by page. My mission now is to scan in everything stored in my three drawer metal filing cabinet.
My only niggle so far is that the touch screen is a bit sensitive and therefore, difficult to scroll. For example, when I try to scroll down the menu I often select an option by mistake. This is not a big issue though as I’ve now saved my settings.
I wanted a scanner to get all the official documents scanned. We have printer/scanner however the scan took always ages.
This one connects with computer in seconds and scans fast and easy. Only downside is if paper is stapled as those don’t go through.
If you need single pages scanned, perfect. If you need to scan books or thicker items like a passport, then it is not for you
Battery powered, wireless, works perfectly. Good quality scans. I can put in any size paper (A4 or less) and it’ll scan a pdf or image exactly that size. This is my first scanner that isn’t flatbed and I couldn’t be happier, I may never use a flatbed scanner again.
Klein, schnell und gute Bildqualitt. Klar darf man das Gert nicht mit einem “groen” Scanner vergleichen. Aber fr unterwegs oder wenig Platz auf dem Schreibtisch ist das Gert super. Und die Verbindung mit Handy oder Tablet funktioniert ebenfalls einwandfrei. Hab mir noch ein Tasche dazu gekauft fr die Aufbewahrung. Bin bisher sehr zufrieden.
Ho acquistato questo scanner portatile per la mia postazione smartworking. Facile e leggero da utilizzare. Consigliatissimo per chi come me sempre in giro e necessit di portabilit ed efficienza. Ottimo per anche per convertire documenti in PDF.
I was a bit worried about other reviews claiming the feed was unreliable but in the end I found it to be okay. I found paper fed properly so long as it was inserted perpendicular to the scanner.
The software is really intuitive and has all the necessary features. Great for occasional scanning, get a higher end with auto feed if you’re doing lots of scanning.
Ce scanner fonctionne bien, mais il semble vraiment de vieille construction: le Port USB est un port “plat” d’ancienne gnration (le cble est fourni, donc c’est pas si grave), par contre l’app Android fait vraiment ultra vieille par son design, de retour en 2010…
La question que a pose est : combien d’anne sera-t-il encore maintenu ?
Pour le tarif a fait un peu mal, mais je le garde quand mme.
Sinon il est trs petit et lger, la qualit de scan est acceptable.
Der Scanner ist wirklich schn klein und trotzdem sehr schnell mit dem scannen fertig.
Egal ob per wlan mit iPhone oder iPad oder mit dem PC und der Epson Scan Software alles funktioniert wunderbar.
Ich kann nun als Energieberatung die Dokumente schon direkt beim Kunden einscannen und bin voll zufrieden.
Ich kann den Scanner nur empfehlen und wrde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen.
Mostly this is a great scanner. It’s small, works well, runs off the USB port and the software is good at picking up a date if there is one printed on the document.
I have two gripes.
Firstly the power cable has to be plugged in on the right, which is annoying for me as I’m right-handed, want the scanner on my right to feed documents, and my PC is under my desk on my left., and it’s not really long enough to tuck out of the way.
Secondly I wish the software could be a bit more flexible about setting the default name – I’d like just the date it displays. It also is a little annoying it always opens a window on the folder it’s just saved the document into, and that the software window closes when I’ve saved a document. I’d like it to stay open ready to scan the next one, though I suspect that when I’ve caught up my scanning that will be less of an annoyance.
But if you want to scan documents this is a great bit of kit. Far better than using my old flat-bed printer/scanner/copier to take scans.
Easy to set up and use. Light and very easy to transport
Over all very happy with this as I can now scan while working away.
La meilleure des utilisations : dpouillez votre courrier et passez immdiatement les feuilles au scanner. Ne classez plus jamais votre courrier mais datez le de la date du jour et empilez le dans un classeur en ordre d’arrive. Vous aurez le document lectronique qui suffit dans tous les cas. S’il vous fallait retrouver tout prix l’original, il est class et la date du fichier numris vous indiquera o le trouver dans votre unique pile de papier. Nommez juste vos fichiers et enregistrez les en pdf afin de les mettre dans un dossier sur votre disque dur.
Per contro non proprio economicissimo, la batteria ha una durata limitata (quel che serve per fare al massimo un paio di decine di scansioni), la risoluzione si ferma a 300dpi (per le mie esigenze avrei preferito almeno un 400dpi) e non Dual Cis (non fondamentale per me).
Sembrano un sacco di difetti ma ammetto che funziona bene o lo ricomprerei.
The best scanner I’ve ever had, simple to set up, easy to use and unbelievably quick. Battery and portability are a must for me, as I live in a campervan full time, easily the best thing I’ve bought, to help keep that paperwork at bay! Now it’s scan and shred!
Very good value for money
I had a little trouble installing the software, but once rebooted it worked a treat. There are options to save as a PDF with password protection and once setup, you can plug this in, press a button and then continue scanning by inserting new pages. Once you’re done, you press the button again and then the software asks you where to save your document.
Simple, great quality, totally portable and excellent. Worth getting a case for it but it’s superb!
