It wont tangle and wrap up on itself, its thick and very durable.
Been used extensively over the last 4 years and is still holding up well. Not as flexible as some hoses but it’s very good.
Used a good few cheap hoses over the years and kinking always ruins them. This hose is top notch for a decent price. Buy cheap, pay dear and I’d highly recommend.
Excellent hose for large gardens, makes watering so much easier. Other than that it does what it’s supposed to!
I have gone through several hoses and found this the best of the lot. I wish I had spent a little extra and got this in the first place.
The coloured lines on the hose show you that the hose is not twisting when being rewound. The feel of the hose is really good, long guarantee.
Maybe it’s because I’ve not had a new hose in 10+ years but I find this to be quite a stiff hose that needs some manhandling to push out some kinks when reeling it back onto a reel. That’s probably a testament to it’s solid construction though and I think probably more a positive than a negative in actual fact. A quality bit of kit that I can imagine lasting me another 10+ years before I’ll need to be in the market again for a hose!
It’s a hose!
It’s actually pliable plastic that feels really high quality. Not the cheapest and came only with a couple of standard attachments but I’m glad I paid the money for it.
You have to think carefully how you unravel it the first time especially if you are going to mount it in a holder. This is to avoid kinks as it is very long
If you leave a roll of hose flat on the ground and drag hose off it, it’ll kink, regardless of its quality. That’s because every loop you pull off the reel puts a full twist into the hose. A twist in a hose every metre or so is bound to cause problems.
If you take it off the roll as though the hose is on a reel then you won’t add all those twists and the hose won’t kink.
The alternative: leave the roll on the ground but for each loop you drag off, you MUST add a countering twist to the end of the hose.
The product itself: we use a great deal of hose in our business and I’ve never found better.
I have only used the hose a few times so far but found that it doesn’t twist at all which is a tremendous improvement on my old one. It is quite heavy but that isn’t a problem and easy to coil up on a ring for storage. So far well worth the money as it is very easy to use.
I purchased this at a bargain price that was offered and found it of excellent quality. Really pleased with it. It certainly isn’t lightweight especially when laden with water. I have had other hoses and connections in the past that have leaked but this seems sound and of good quality. I have returned back to a solid hose due to my experience with a X-Hose which has burst on me on two occasions, although the principal of these hoses are good in service their longevity doesn’t seem to be that long plus the fittings supplied seem cheap and nasty. The Gardena hose and connections look good and have a quality feel to them.
Having read some of the other reviews mentioning fighting with a snake I too found myself with 30M of uncontrollable coils of hose. Having muttered a few choice words I laid the hose out as best I could and left for 24Hrs. Now the hose has lost its kinks and coils and I was able to wind it on to a reel without any problem.
All in all it seems like a good buy!
Amazon are selling Gardena 50m hosepipe, Gardena connector hose, and Gardena Aquaroll Easy hose cart as a package. But there no connectors to either end of the hosepipe to connect to the cart or the spray attachment. I’ve had to order these separately at an extra cost of 12.
Not a great package in the end!
It’s a hose. I needed a lightweight hose, but the collapsible flat boxes just perish too easily. This one is more robust but not as light as the flat type. That said it seems a reasonable hose for a fair price. It can kink so don’t pull at it or it could shut your water off.
The hose pipe is good, string, sturdy and does what it needs to no problem, and a good price. However, this was delivered to my Grandad who is 84 years old, and early 84 years old as he struggles to walk. Anyway for some reason the driver DEMANDED to see some form of ID to prove he was over 18 and it was an age restricted item!! Absolute joke for a man who struggles to move, he had to fish out his passport he not used for 10 years. Hassle and waste of time, left my Grandad feeling vulnerable
I bought a new Hozelock 50m hose early this year to replace an old Hozelock that had had it time. At first all was well, then the hose split so had to trim back, then again split, then again and so on And despite claims, kinked terribly causing damage. It was so poor it didn’t even last a year!!!!. I switched to the Gardena Premium Superflex. In comparison far more robust, inner tubing is more robust and stronger. It even looks more premium. Its strong enough not to kink yet still able to rolled up when I’ve finished with it. Highly recommend.
Previous hose had become both brittle and dog chewed with a few too many leaks and after cutting off bits/shortening the hose had finally had it.
Decided on this one, a hose is a hose right !!! and thought the colours we’re slightly better too and comes from a good brand of products as GARDENA.
Hose arrived on all fine.
Removed all hose and off to hose heaven that one went — kept a few lenghts as you never know what you can use a hose for.
My first impressions of the new one, were a bit “uh oh”, as taking it out of the packing and trying to unravel, so I could wind onto our reel (see pic), this kinked and twisted all over the place and was a bit of a pain.
Persisting for a few mins, got most of these out the way and connected and wound onto the reel we have.
Once on the reel, extened out and wound back in a couple of times just to check and it’s been fine ever since, so it was only really the intial un-packing.
It’s a nice hose “light” to unravel when the water is off, obviosuly heavier when water is on.
Seem robust, strong and had no issues in use. I’m actually writing a 2nd review on the head/spray gun too as this is a great product to completment the hose (again colour wise) however also for a practical use point too — this isn’t a Gardena product but I’d really recommend this.
Looking for a hose that is reasuringly weighty and sturdy? Then buy this Gardena Comfort Flex one.
This Gardena hose is absolutely superb, it screams quality and you don’t really need anything else. For those interested Hozelock connectors will fit it. I’m only using some Hozelock connectors as a convenience and safety system against water damage, more about that later.
The Gardena connectors are perfect and are made for this hose because they are made to lock into the grooves that go around it to make it even more watertight seal.
I’ve set up this hose differently than most as it is connected to an indoor supply using the Gardena connectors. Despite the quality of this hose I’ve cut it into two lengths, so that the part that leaves the indoor supply (3m), can be joined outside my back door as I don’t have room under the sink for a full 30m hose to be stored in any case. I’ll then be able to safely connect them together outside the house using the Hozelock system (which I bought when I bought the dreadful Hozelock hose that I returned), so if they leak it won’t cause damage inside the house. On the working end is the Gardena Aquastop and the spray nozzle. This setup is also perfect for use with my pressure washer out the garden too. After use, the majority of the hose will be in the shed whilst the 3m tap section will be coiled under the sink (Hozelock Aquastop used here).
Still thinking of a Hozelock hose?
Whatever you do, do not buy a Hozelock hose. I had one and it was useless. It was thin, it was twisted/flattened and I couldn’t roll it back up without it twisting everywhere. It was a complete and utter waste of money and I left a review on Amazon for it with a picture.
So as I said, there are no issues with this hose at all. Gardena have made a superb product, with connectors that are designed to be extremely watertight, a hose that feels like quality and behaves like quality. Lthough I’ve used Gardena connectors in all the importand places, Hozelock connectors can be used on it too and it can be used with a pressure washer.
In my area we have really good pressure in our water system, so much so that in my case it has to be reduced at the isolation valve so the CH boiler can have time to heat the water correctly. I temporarily turned it on full and the Gardena connectors did not leak, even with the spray nozzle at the end of the hose closed. There was a little puddle under the Hozelock ones though, but not a lot.
All in all, a great hose, if you want a hose you won’t go wrong with a Gardena Confort Flex.
I got this because the flexi hose I had wasn’t carrying any pressure anymore. Obviously this type of hose needs a bit of looking after. No such thing as kink proof. A hint I found online is to coil it lightly with water still flowing through it. It helps to maintain its form. So far no kinks.
Definitely worth buying for general use.
My previous hose has been made up of two different brands (one very good and one appalling quality), one of which was terrible for kinking and twisting even just laying it out.
Every time I used the hose it would frustrate me having to run back along the length of it and untwist. …
So, on to the Gardena, so far this has been an excellent hose. It is fairly soft to handle compared to the previous cheap plastic job but this makes it very easy to wind up and also run out from the reel. When you lay it down it seems to naturally unwind and lay out so this is a massive improvement.
If you try to kink it there is certainly some resistance to it wanting to cut off the supply. Top marks here.
The colour looks smart but in all honesty it doesnt really matter what colour the hose is for a garden and car washing.
A slight downside is that it is a little narrow as far as its diameter. I found it impossible to connect to the inner connection on the hose reel due to access, so in the end I used the other good quality hose to connect here (since it was slightly larger in diameter) and used a hose to hose connector to double the length of the hose.
So this worked out ok in the end for me but in order to connect the Gardena to the hose reel would mean I would have to take the reel apart to have the access to force it on.
It does appear as though the diameter is just that bit small to affix to the connectors unless you have very good access.
This works out ok when you can apply some force to the connectors to get them on since it means a nice solid connection.
So over all, I am very happy with this hose and the price was priced just perfect. A lot of the reviews do state it kinks but I really do not find this happening.
For me, great hose, 5 stars!
