I saw this product and realised that it was very cheap relative to other similar purpose patio and balcony sails. Why?
1. The product is plastic, polyethylene, but high quality. It’s not canvas.
2. The solid surface area is much smaller than the size
3. It is breathable, so both porous and able to let air through. You may or may not want that.
4. You need to buy nylon ropes and steel accessories to secure this.
5. It is functional to shield about 90% of sunlight. It is shade but partially translucent, not opaque.
6. It looks quite durable but not indestructible. Be careful when securing it.
7. It will not pond and it will not be subject to mould or mildew. It is not waterproof and is not designed to be.
8.For the money and within the design and material limitations, it’s excellent. If you want a supper product with superior material and construction, you will need to pay a lot more money, at least a substantial multiple of the purchase price.
Be realistic in your expectations and know its limit.

Breathable not waterproof sail which is what I wanted as all other waterproof sails I’ve had have eventually bagged no matter what angle they are installed at (normals when you are out) When they bag they fill with water and fail under the weight
If looking for non waterproof soil I would recommend

Only recently put up and it’s great to give shade whilst you can see a little through it so lovely effect. Only had a little bit of rain but remained dry!

I have purchased one big sail in the past for a previous garden which was really nice but I found that it was quite a job putting it up and taking it down and the plants underneath got too much shade which is why I went down this route this time.
I like that areas do get some sun in between the joints throughout the day. The sails are very strong and robust held in place with appropriate fixings that I bought separately. I personally prefer this material. Although it isn’t waterproof they do provide adequate shade from the suns harmful rays and look very smart.
The price is very good with next day delivery.
