Lovely lightweight coat and a nice longer length. Excellent quality. The sizing is small so definitely size up one size.

Nice coat, but we found the sizing very small.

My partner is normally a M with luck, we tried M, then L and finally XL.

She is happy with the quality, style and fit. Not tried it in the rain yet …..

The item is great. It’s waterproof and remains dry even under heavy rain. I ordered XL and expected it to be oversize in order to wear warm hoodie under, usually I wear M so I expected XL to be oversize but the sleeves are very long and the rest is just fits. Also, I expected it to be a little thicker but it’s like a raincoat. Anyway, it looks fine and does the job.

I decided to buy a better quality rain jacket this time and this doesn’t disappoint, size is correct nice length covering bum, nice fit, hood size is perfect, not too big and doesn’t slip of the head either, bear in mind this jacket is not in anyway warm so you’ll need layers for a colder day.

I’m a size 12 to 14
I bought the L & XL after reading the reviews.
The large fits perfect on the body, the XL is a very loose fitting, I can fit a padded down jacket underneath l. Theres a huge difference in size between them.

Problem is the neck!
If you wear anything with a high collar or hood underneath the neck, when zipped up to the top, is an extremely tight fitting, feels like you’re being strangled.

I can just about live with the XL so I’m keeping that one, at least I’ll be warm and dry in winter.

Its a fantastic coat though, delighted with the quality & performance

The best jacket ever, I bought it in 2020 and it is still fantastic. you can walk in heavy rain with it and you are 100% dry. I would buy it many more times again. Plus – elegant.

Great jacket. Little advice it is on small side so if you want to ware jumper or thicker sweeter under go for a bigger size.

I’ve had numerous jackets which claimed to be waterproof/rainproof. Some even worked fairly well but most were bulky and failed when the rain was at its worst. I recently wore this in a torrential downpour and I remained dry. It is very lightweight so can be easily packed away when not in use. I gave it 4/5 for flattering but let’s face it, it’s an anorak! I bought a size larger than usual to allow for a fleece underneath as there’s no thick insulating layer. All in it’s a nice, functional piece of kit, you get what you pay for.

So happy with this jacket. Lightweight, breathable and 100% waterproof. I have been wearing the Belfast design in the Winter for the last 3 years and it’s still in perfect condition. This one is perfect for Spring and Autumn and I got it at a fantastic price on Prime Day! Helly Hansen is such a good make!

I love this raincoat. Provides warmth though it is not heavy. I was most worried about the sizing because I am solidly in between a small and a medium and sizing always depends on the brand. 5’2″ and 120 pounds with broad shoulders. The medium is absolutely perfect. Roomy enough for layers but still slim looking.
UPDATE: So I’ve had this coat for about 6 months. And at least 50% of the time the zipper won’t work when I’m trying to zip up. Or it won’t unzip all the way and I’m left struggling to take it off. It is to the point that I dread the zipping moment when I’m in a restaurant. Will I stand there for 5 minutes struggling to zip my coat? Or off? Kinda puts me off wearing it.

Brilliant fit, with room to wear a fleece underneath when it is cold. Really waterproof so far and it has been very wet recently! I haven’t washed it yet. The hood is so comfortable and allows you to see to the sides just as they say.y5

The jacket is all round excellent – exactly what I wanted, in terms of weight, length, windproof and waterproof. I didn’t expect a hugely warm coat – I’d have bought a different one, had I wanted that.
It’s versatile, flattering and does what it’s meant to do.

Not tested in rain – can ‘t wait to try it. Only person who currently wants it rail. Looks and feels like it will last. Double ended zip. Lightweight. Easy to pull out spacious hood.
Ordered XL am a size 12 but like to layer up. Flattering cut. Pleased with purchase and happy to pay extra for an item that I feel good in.

This was a lovely coat but expensive for what it was: It took an inordinate amount of time to be delivered and I returned it because the fit was not for me ; I had to pay 8 return postage and the refunds take between 3-4 weeks to process..still do not have my refund

I love this brilliant white jacket/coat. It feels smart and classy and can be dressed up and coordinated with with smart scarves and bags. Mine is roomy enough for sweaters underneath. I don’t like a heavy coat because I feel uncomfortable so this is perfect.

Daughter needed to look good for 6th year with coat that was properly waterproof for Scottish August, that had length to fit flatteringly with skirt/Dr Martens – and one that didn’t leave her cooked through lack of breathability. This has been well and truly tested over two days of torrential rain now and has passed with flying colours. After day of being stuffed in schoolbag came out with minimal creases.

She is size 16 and 5 3. The XL was good shape with space for jumper in cold weather, but not baggy and shapeless. Knee length, and the extra stud button at cuff meant neat at wrists.
Delivered incredibly quickly. All in all, worth every penny so far.

so glad i bought this earlier this year, have worn it practically every day during recent storms and wet weather, including during a long walk on the east coast headland during heavy rain and gusty winds. high quality and windproof, water just runs off the material. the fit is snug if wearing several layers and a scarf, but it is roomy enough, and pockets are deep enough to keep hands protected from the elements too.

Awesome for the English Winter work commute. I walk to and from work most days – an hour/ hour and a half and even when it was raining, got home and discovered the outside of the jacket was wet but I was dry on the inside. I wear my goose feather jacket underneath this jacket for warmth – looks good and smart for Canary Wharf and warm and rain proof for the weather.

I am very happy with this jacket. It’s quite lightweight but I have plenty of technical clothing to layer up and keep warm. I am a size 12 and I bought a size 12. Whilst it doesn’t look too big and baggy when I have very little on underneath, it is equally big enough to accommodate all my layering. I am finding it to be thoroughly waterproof. The hood is a generous size, but still, when I have my hair up it’s not quite large enough so its either take my hair down or risk getting wet sleeve cuffs because I am pulling the hood cap as far forward as I can and inviting rain to run down my wrists. Nevertheless its the biggest hood I’ve come across. Mine is navy blue and it looks smart.

The main downside is that to retain the waterproofness after a machine wash, you need to dry it in a dryer. I don’t have a dryer so I’m wiping off any dirt when I get home, whereas in the past I’d just bung it in the washing machine.

Love length of coat. Keep water off my bottom! Stylish fit. Inside pocket could be a little larger for phone and better on outside of jacket as with winter weight version. I have two of the winter weight versions of this coat. (Belfast) They get a great deal of hammer as I’m a dog walker. Purchased summer weight one as so pleased with winter primaloft version that I bought two of the colour. Smart coat and reluctant to spoil it with mud etc but that’s what it was bought for. Wash well and great value.

Excellent lightweight coat. It looks good on and is perfect for days out and in case of showers. It has zip up pockets and soft collar. It washes easily and you tumble dry it to get the waterproof quality back which is brilliant. The quality is perfect and I have been so pleased with this jacket I bought another with warm lining for winte

It’s ok. It was good value. Now it is cold I wish I had chosen something cosier but it will serve when it is hot as well, and unlike other more expensive jackets it is cut to fit layers underneath.

Check your measurements as per the size guide. I did that and decided as a size 14-16, I was an XL. The XL allows some space for another layer underneath, Like a fleece or jumper. It is rainproof, and not just shower proof as a lot of the cheap macs in supermarkets are. Good hood also. I didn’t even bother putting my umbrella up when walking in the rain.

The jacket arrived very fast – thank you amazon. It was a little larger than I had expected I have another HH jacket in the same size this could be down to the fact that it is not padded but this is no bad thing as I can wear a bulky jumper underneath and not feel confined. it is also very stylish without compromising on functionality We recently had severe rainfall so I decided to try out the jacket .By god is it waterproof. Nothing was getting inside it. After 3 hours in the pouring rain I was bone dry inside. This Jacket is perfect- light enough to pack or wear if travelling and wear with fleece inside and is completely waterproof. It gets top marks from me. HH is an excellent brand.
