This is a really nice air bed. Comfy and nice material. Much better than I had expected.
I kept my hopes low as I was expecting it to deflate over night but I couldn’t be more wrong. The air stays all night, it’s easy to inflate and with practice you do it faster. Works like a charm!
Glad that we bought it. It is very comfy and quality is very good.
Great product. I was dubious but it turned out to be absolutely great stuff.
Really like this mattress for its size and weight. It doesn’t take up much space when deflated and easy to blow up using a pump, didn’t bother with the bag as it looked too much hassle.
I didn’t put the plug in correctly the first night and it partially deflated but once done correctly it stayed up for 4 nights and didn’t deflate at all and not too bouncy when sharing like thicker mattresses.
Went camping, shagged the wife on it all night and it didn’t pop. FANTASTIC. Was meant to wake up the next morning to watch the sunrise and slept in. Buy this.
Hard to fault. Great size and packs down well. Better than your cheap inflatable mattresses that only last a couple is uses. I used an electric pump to inflate it and was up in no time. The supplied ‘bag pump’ is fantastic. Quick and easy to use. Ideal if it does happen to loose air and need to inflate it in the middle of the night.
Really pleased with this product, I’ve had some very uncomfortable camping trips and this inflatable has done the trick, the hand pump is pretty hopeless, but apart from that 10/10
I’ve not used this in anger yet but it arrived and I pumped it up in a few minutes with a Flextailgear pump, put it on the wooden floor, threw a pillow on to just check it out and promptly fell asleep so it must be comfortable. I left it up for a day and it didn’t seem to go down at all and this includes 4 year old granddaughter running across it. I never pump airbeds to the max (it should go down to the floor if you sit on it) but this supported me well including hips off the floor when side-sleeping.
The material rustles slightly but not excessively. The screw in valves worked well to inflate/deflate. I probably won’t use the pump-sack but will carry it as back up plus it just fits round the rolled airbed so acts as a tie. The stuff sack is big enough for the mattress, a flextailgear pump and a couple of trekology pillows so sleeping stuff in one small sack. This looks as if it could be as good as an aerobed that I had (and loved) for 6 years.
Pic is of airbed, pump and pillows in sack.
Tried a couple of airbeds from different makes that deflated in use.
This airbed comes in a smallish pack and I opted for the air bag rather than the foot pump to inflate. I inflate airbeds using a FlextailGear mini pump which gets the job done in a few minutes and use the airbag for the last few pumps to bring up to the full inflation.
The bed had two valves. A single valve to which you attach the air bag and a larger valve at the opposite end for an air pump and to release the air for storage. While this is a large valve it is well designed. It has two screw caps, the smaller opening to allow a pump and the larger to release air. It is right in the corner and does not intrude whether placed facing the top or bottom of the sleep position. It is too big to be underneath the bed and would be pressing down hard on your tent floor.
For reference this air bed fills the floor area of a MSR Elixir 2V2 and Naturehike’s Cloud Peak 2, neatly with a little room to spare top and bottom.
This bed stayed inflated over four days. It is most comfortable for me at just slightly less than full pressure. I use a large throw over it and that cuts the small amount of noise from the fabric and insulates well. My sleep bag is the Coleman Hampton 220, which is a large bag. The combination proved for a very comfortable, warm sleep.
While a double I’m using it for one person with room to stretch. For two people it would be snug.
In terms of size and weight,Iwhile it packs quite small I’d say its best used for car camping or canoe camping.
A very good sleeping mat for the money. Well designed and comfortable. Best of all it stay inflated.
This is a camping mattress that really works and doesn’t deflate during the night! Lasted over a 4 day festival without any topping up. Easy to inflate with integrated foot pump. Easy to deflate and roll up into the neat carry bag. Great product that I would recommend.
Tested several camping mattresses in the past, never came across any as good as this. Takes about 4 to 5 minutes to fully inflate using the built in foot pump. Very comfortable sleep, could not feel the ground at all. Compact enough for a double and also light weight. Thoroughly Recommended.
I’m so happy with this purchase, bought because of a bad back and wanted something to make camping more enjoyable. Absolutely fantastic, really supports your back does not sag, or deflate. You do not roll, and even with two people sleeping on it the mattress does not give. Was like sleeping on a good quality mattress. 10 out of 10.
Bought this 2 camping seasons ago loved it then, and it’s still great.
We use a different pump to inflate quicker, but the built in one is ok too.
I like a firm bed, and this pumped fairly high is great. Evens up bumpy ground.
I’m a bit over 12 stone, my wife is 10, and it lasts pumped up all week.
Buy it. Worth the money.
Bought for a last minute camping trip. Amazing not to have to take a foot pump along too. Was so easy to inflate and don’t loose any air at all over 2 nights (1 adult and 1 child sleeping on it). Deflated easy too and fit back into the carry bag no problem. Will keep as a spare blow up bed for kids sleep overs. Highly recommend!
I bought this mattress cause I was tired of carrying around my big airbed plus foot pump.
The mattress inflates quickly, is easy to carry and doesn’t lose any air.
I’ve been sleeping on it for 4 days. Would recommend.
I have not tried to sleep on this yet but I have inflated it. The integral footpump seems like a great innovation and seems to work well. The whole thing rolls up into a small bag so we can keep it in the camper ready to use in the pop top.
UPDATE June 2021: used the used the mat now and I am still fairly impressed for the money. Fitted sheet was a life saver as the material is quite slippery! Stayed perfectly inflated for 2 nights. Not bad, hope it lasts.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
First time I’ve left an amazon review but I figure we will have a few more campers getting out than usual in 2021 so i might have some good insights to help people! I will split my review up into comfort, weight, the minor niggles.
Comfort: First off this is an BLOW UP mattress which means you have complete control over the firmness! Ive seen some reviewers commenting on the firmness. In particular, it being too hard… Just don’t blow it up as hard? This isn’t going to be as comfortable as your bed at home, its only about 10cm thick. In terms of materials this top and bottom are the same thick plastic/nylon material. There is no flock coating that you find on bigger blow up mattresses. I imagine this is to make it lighter and less bulky. I would HIGHLY recommend picking up a “Small double” or 4ft fitted bed sheet (I have the 120cm version) to use with this, it adds a nice extra bit of comfort. If you pick up a fully synthetic or maybe even a polycotton blend. These sheets really don’t add much weight or bulk (mine rolls up inside the mattres and still fits in the bag) and they are fast drying.
Size/weight/ease of use:
In terms of weight and size mine comes in at 1.7kg on the kitchen scales (120cm pump sack version). There are lighter (more expensive) mattresses available but 850g per person, not bad, not great. The only other thing I have for comparison is a Thermarest NeoAir, anything is heavy when compared to a NeoAir! Size is bang on the manufactures spec, which means it should fill the floor nicely of most 2 person tents if that’s something your looking for. My tent for reference is a MSR Elixir 2 and this is a perfect fit!
I’m actually quite impressed with the pack size, I would say its a little bit bigger than a 2L drinks bottle. I wouldn’t really have any issues taking this anywhere as its about the size of a one person self inflating mattress.
As I said before I have the pump sack version. Simply because I have to inflate this inside the tent which means accessing the foot pump would be difficult (also not fun to have to stand out in the rain). I was impressed how easy the pump sack was to use. For anyone that hasn’t used a pump sack before it is a little bit tedious but gets the job done within a few minutes, just keep at it. It does look like it has the option to connect a electric pump but I was unable to confirm this.
Niggles:
There are a couple of minor annoyances I have with this however there is one BIG thing you will need to consider when using this! This mattress has NO insulation, there’s only air in there! What that means is “realistically” in the UK this can used in summer and maybe early autumn or late spring, depending on the overnight temperature. Once the temperate starts to get down, you are going to loose a lot of heat through the bottom of your bag and you might struggle to stay warm.
Other things… the pump sack has a dry-bag style roll top buckle, which seems great but the valve means it cant actually be used as a dry bag, so all it does is add bulk, little bit annoying! Also the deflating value is MASSIVE! When you roll it up you have a huge bulbus lump sticking out the side which is just waiting to catch on stuff in your bag! For what is generally a neat and compact unit, I don’t understand why this huge valve was attached.
Overall:
Pretty impressed for the price to be honest! Reasonably comfortable, good pack size and weight. Lost marks due to the lack of any insulation. A feature I and I know many others would pay for. And some other odd design choices.
Haven’t found it to deflate yet but just tried it house.
I was concerned about other reviews talking about noise but I don’t find that to be the case. Wife was sceptical at first but thinks its very comfy. Light enough for backpacking. Inflates easily but a wee bit harder to deflate especially “out of “foot pump
Very good quality air mattress , the material seems very durable. It does not loose any air at all. When fully blown up it is quite firm but I really like that. I have never camped so comfortably!
Great product.
I sometimes get a bad back after a night of camping, sleeping not in my bed.
This product is very comfortable and ingenious in its inflation. No batteries required or pump, but it has the option if you want.
Can’t recommend it enough. I’m buying more for my kids.
If you want an air bed then this is perfect.
I had to blow this up because I didn’t buy a foot pump and the built in foot pump didn’t seem to work, however there’s a knack to it, but I blew it up myself. I’ve bought so many of these blow up beds for my tent and I always wake up through the night lying on the hard grass as they go flat and leak. This time it stayed up for the whole weekend. Very comfortable and it fits perfectly in my 2 person tent.
Had this and spelt on this a good number of times now. It’s easy to inflate (like the in-built foot pump) and take up little room once it’s deflated. As another review has said, it’s a tad on the hard side. I tend to deflate it a good bit to find the right pressure for my sleeping position. Good for the price as I wasn’t expecting to be sleeping on a cloud.
Bought this a month or two ago and have used it twice. Once on the floor of a village hall on my own and once at a 5 day festival with my partner. Both times it stayed inflated the whole time. Super lightweight and easy to inflate and pack away. Just what I wanted. Comfortable enough too. Much better than a roll mat.
his thing is half the size of my sons single even though its a double, very surprised with size, thought they had sent the wrong one initially, brilliant matress, love it.
It’s not a great design, but good material. The nylon coating made it too hard for me to sleep on fully blown up, it would probably feel good for some like my mother who likes hard beds, the coating does make it a lot more durable than those usually made of pure PVC. I have deflated it almost flat to use as a bed liner in the summer heat and feels much better, it does make a lot of crunchy noises due to the nylon. It was partially inflated initially, but the design does not have enough pillar support in the middle, causing legs and head to rise higher than buttocks causing back pain.
It is easy to blow and release air using the valve and a electric pump, couldn’t get it to rise using the integrated foot pump.
Perfect! Small and light, easy to put up and pack away and after first use at a featival, didn’t have any leakage at all. We put it up using our hands on the foot pad as my tent is too small to stand in but it was fast and easy. I am overweight and didn’t expect any mattress to keep me supported all night but this one was Perfect! Incredibly happy with my purchase.
