The printer looks good and feels solid. Set up was a bit fiddly as it was not straightforward to get the app to search for my Wi-Fi network. Adding the printer ink was simpler than I thought so no regrets about moving from a cartridge to a tank system. Controlling scanning on the app is cool though I would have preferred there to be a button and USB port as an alternative.
This printer is replacing a 9 year old printer. I’m happy with how easy it is to set up and use compared to my old one. The print quality is great.
Great printer that is easy to set up and use. Good print quality and a big saving on ink in the future. Would have liked a button on the main panel to scan rather than through the app / software. Otherwise a great buy.
Crisp clear copy, easy set up and cheap ink.
Only time will tell. Print head is replaceable maybe that’s how HP are going to make their money. There is no photo paper tray, but for the odd copy that’s not a problem. On decent paper the machine can produce a reasonable colour print. Black and white text is good on documents and the copy function is good for single sided copy, shame they didn’t bring the duplex function to the document feeder. Machine is compact and seems solid, if it lasts as well as the last HP printer I will be more than happy.
I purchased this printer 3 months ago, after I was no longer willing to pay the price the manufacturer wanted for their printer cartridges and, after the last “update” the printer would no longer accept generic cartridges.
I decided on this printer after reading a review in Which? magazine.
After 3 months, I am still happy with this printer.
It was easy to install, it prints on both sides of the paper, the ink tanks are big enough to take enough ink for multiple printing (from home) and the ink cost a fraction of what the pre-filled cartridges were costing.
Very easy to set up with the app. Printer quality very good. Works both on my iPad and iPhone ink is non spill and easy to load. First class printer and is front loading paper which is a bonus because it does not take up too much room
Highly recommend – cheap through ink tank refills, front loading tray so can be kept between shelves, and VERY easy connection/set up to phone and laptop through hotspoting (if this is what you need get it, do not get an Epson!)
Setting it to connect with the WiFi was problematic. Took some patience, but got there in the end , with the help of technical support.
The ink is so easy to top up and it last for such a long time. No buying all those expensive cartridges every month.
Loads of ink at a good price. Like the feed tray as printer sits on shelf under keyboard drawer.
No waterproof ink!
Obviously the value for money increases with the amount of printed pages.
HP tried to simplify the installation to a point that it actually felt unnatural, especially when, like in my case, the printer did it’s job but wasn’t recognised by the computer…I know sounds weird… It needed couple of attempts to install.
Print quality seems great and all the computers and phones and iPads in the house have found it and are happily printing away.
A great buy so far.
Installation of ink cartridges for very hard as did not get clear instructions so I went online then everything was good. No problems after that. Easy to use. Very sturdy and looks nice.
Smaller than I expected as my old HP is a bit of a clunker in size. I am a Linux user so HP is a no brainer. Connects (with HPLIP) very easy. Print quality is better than expected and with hp photo paper, I am not getting smudge issues using colour. Sounds more expensive than your general printer but worth it in quality and ink refills as opposed to cartridges
It seems ok now but was difficult to set up.
