In Phase USW300 300W Underseat Compact Subwoofer
Building on the immense success of the USW8, USW10 and USW12, we have launched our latest underseat subwoofer. The USW300 is unbeatable in value for performance. This little subwoofer kicks out some serious bass and is a little bigger than the new iPad Air (width and length). Measuring at only 75MM deep, this enclosure can fit under 90% car seats.

I don’t often write reviews, but as a Hi Fi nerd I have to give a nod to this great piece of kit. The first thing I noticed was the great packaging, good box with foam supports. Secondly IT’S HEAVY! All metal really solid. The cables are VERY generous in terms of length and more importantly gauge. Really chunky power cables, perhaps about 4mm Squ? And finally it adds a whole new dimension to my car sound system. Bass now turned down on my main speakers ( so they don’t distort any more). All the bass is now coming from the new sub- sounds fantastic!
It has completely changed the system in my car. Fairly easy to install but you do need tools to splice the speaker wires. Worth the effort, I’ve gone from tinny speakers to full bass sound.
Got this for my bmw z3. It makes a huge difference to the music! Deep bass and a control to tweak to your ears. More than enough for a small car would recommend 100%. Instalation was easy I ran off the rca option.
Replaced this with a 12″ sub in the back of my caddy as needed the extra space.
This is very solid unit. Very well built and quality wiring loom.
Install didn’t take long and man! This kicks!
Very nice quality bass, mines set to half way on the controller gain & bass boost with my head unit bass set to 0 treble up and you’d think iv put a Bose sound system in.
If you are thinking of buying this, you won’t be disappointed!
The subwoofer is very compact, but for it’s size sounds pretty good. It goes down below 40hz too, which is a surprise for a box this tiny.
It’s a good unit to add low end definition to a standard car stereo system.
To start with what a easy installation fits so neatly under my seat Mk5 fiesta.
More than enough cable to run in the boot if you wanted too
Love that it works eather way ( phonos or direct to speakers) I hooked mine up through my rear speakers.
It has completely changed how the music is in my car for such a little sub it’s amazing how much it dose don’t get me wrong it’s no 12″ woofer in the boot but just gives it that little bit of depth so glad I bought it.
As title, amp is in the boot of a Mini R53. Battery is located in the boot and there is a perfect earth point behind cover on passenger side in the boot too (Mini audio ground already, just undo the nut, add this sub’s earth, re-do nut. Done)
Contrary to the instructions, I have this amp connected to my rear speakers AND a 5mtr RCA cable. Works way better then just one or the other as now you can absolutely fine tune the bass with the head units Bass adjustments (high level input) and the Sub Level (low level input).
It absolutely shines now and makes the rear view mirror vibrate which is astonishing really for how compact this unit is.
I will add pics and a little video eventually.
Brilliant product, highly recommended.
For the price this little sub is the perfect addition if you want to add some depth to your system. It’s not got to shatter any windows so if you want to make your bones rattle this isn’t for you
There’s a lot of debate about how best to spend your s on improving the gutless, tinny sound of a factory car stereo, especially in small cars that are a few years old. Some would say replace the head unit first, others argue you should start with upgrading the door speakers or put in an amp. My advice is install this underseat sub before you do any other upgrades…and it’ll really surprise you just how big the impact is on the sound! I installed it in a 2014 Toyota Aygo, fits perfectly under the drivers seat. It totally transformed the sound in the car and even drops pretty low on drum n bass, which was remarkable considering its tiny size and low price. It also means you can turn down the bass on the factory head unit and crank the standard speakers louder without melting, which overall gives a pretty good impression of having a decent sound system in your motor. It’s a bit of a faff to install, running cables etc, but that would be the case with any car audio gear. If you don’t know your way around car electrics, pay to have it done properly. This sub is a really low cost way of making your weezing old stereo a whole lot more fun to listen to.
Compact sub, fits under passenger seat in a Mazda 2 easy to wire up and everything I needed included in kit. I used the high level inputs as this was the easiest option for me so no need to connect the remote on lead as it senses the output and turns on and off automatically. Really makes a difference to the bass.
Easy to install with the addition of quality RCA leads, but that’s it, everything else is in the box for both high & low level installation.
It’s not going to rattle peoples windows as you drive by but if you want to give your stereo a much fuller, deeper & immersive sound you can’t go wrong
Chucked this into a Mk8 Civic with a Pioneer headunit, and adds some nice low down notes to the audio, but isn’t Earth shattering like with a proper subwoofer.
Comes with most of the cables you need too – run the power cable to the battery, the power switch to the headunit (plugged right into the Pioneer I have), and attach the black cable to a nearby chassis bolt, but you will need to buy the phono leads separately.
Chucked handily under my rear seats too, so still keep the boot for the shopping!
Fits easy, sounds great for its size. Bass is insane and having a sound control for it is so handie to have.
The unit does add reasonable amount of Bass to the existing sound system. However, like other review have indicated, DO NOT expect it will vibrate to a level that will make things float So if your current system is lacking in bass, AND you are not a super heavy bass lover, then this would be good choice.
The sub-woofer comes with MOST of the things you need. However, you’ll also need other bits and pieces to complete the installation. For Diagram 1 (High Level Input), you’ll need to Solder or Tap into existing speaker wires. For Diagram 2 (Low Level Input), the RCA Signal Wire was not provided. I pick Diagram 2 therefore I need to source a RCA Cable to hook everything up. No big deal, just had to wait a day or 2 for the RCA cable to be sent through.
For MOUNTING through, the drilling and screwing is just not practical. I mean, drill and screw with the seat on top? And onto the Carpet? Unless you take the whole seat out, otherwise good luck. So what I did instead was stick the bottom of the sub-woofer with Hook and Loop Tape. Forget about the loop, just stick on the hook and use the car carpet as loop.
The first unit arrived faulty and wouldn’t switch on, the second unit arrived (I used the first model’s wiring loom so I know that wasn’t the fault) now it works I am very pleased. It won’t blow the windows out but it definitely makes it impressive sound in my va
The product was tedious to install but it would be for any. The included kit worked well with all wiring needed! One downside is the metal cover on the subwoofer, It likes to vibrate and rattle when the bass is hitting the spot, so it gets very irritating very quickly! I’ll find a way to dampen this
Installation not easy as my old mk2 corsa, fiesta days, but came across the fuse with a tail which made install so much easier than trying to get through to the battery.
Pros: small but sounds so much better than I thought, was bought to add bass which factory standard speakers jut don’t do.
Con: only con I would say is that the remote is big, sure it could be smaller.
All in all love it cheaper than fitting new speakers and head unit ands sounds awesome.
Really easy to install has everything you need except rca cables but if you do high level input your fine. It doesn’t actually fit under my seats but I expected that as I have an mr2 spyder the sound is a lot better than expected for such a small sub I’m used to air bigger but it’s really good for the price and size of it. Definitely worth it!!
Just fitted in the Mini and I am so impressed, clear instructions and really easy to fit. The sound is great, crossover control, boost and gain all on a wired remote. Recomended 5*
Alot better than expected well worth the money. plenty of cable with it and the control had enough cable to be hidden in the little drivers side glove box
Very good , sound Ok , easy to install . I was put it to my van , I will recommend i
Fitted this into my SLK as needed a bit more bass. This filled the missing sound well and adds some decent bass. Don’t expect mirror vibrating booming bass from this, but you can fel the bass through the seats. I am happy with the sound it gives.
I bought this for a Toyota MR2 MRK1, the stereo sounded terrible, since adding the sun it brought a full sound and is easy to balance with the remote unit. Highly recommend for the money. Well built and fairly easy to install. I wired it to the same power wiring that goes to the stereo as running a separate wire to the battery would have been really difficult in this car. Works fine.
Fitted one of these after being very disappointed with a Philips underseat subwoofer..the difference is huge..much more deep bass and an altogether warmer, richer sound.
Considering this unit is around 35 cheaper ( sometimes even more depending on if you pick it up during one of the offers that pop up) then its an absolute no brainer if you are in the market for one of these small subs.
It would usually be the case that one of the big names would be the direction to head try for consumer confidence but thats not the case here. Ive fitted several systems in different cars down the years and this is hands down one of the best bang for buck items I have purchased..buy with confidence
Really good and does actually pack a punch. I’ve mount it in my Peugeot boxter cabin. Really nice
The setup instructions provided did not give me the sound quantity I was looking for but when turning the middle knob to the right the sound I was looking for emerged. It fits great under the seat and works well. Recommended product.
I’m really impressed with this USW300. It really packs a punch and has some deep rumble! It has nearly double the RMS of Kenwood / Pioneer equivalent and also has great frequency range. It fits perfectly where my CD changer used to be in the boot of a Ford Galaxy 7 seater used as a work van.. The supplied 5m cable was absolutely perfect from battery to boot! I had to purchase 5m RCA Phono cable for my aftermarket head unit that wasn’t supplied however not the end of the would.
I routed everything down the drivers side as that’s where the sub goes and managed put the remote control close to my knee on some velcrow. I change the settings often depending on the track.
It gets pretty hot but it has been peak summer and I’m using it hard.
It took longer than I hoped install but I’m happy with the finished job. I recommend a cable rod to route through tight spaces..
Great value for money. I would recommend this sub and also this seller who was really fast to get back to me.
I was in the market for an underseat subwoofer to put in my 3 series which wouldn’t break the bank, vibrate the mirror or share my beat to pedestrians. This is an affordable one that I find which can go down to as low as 20Hz. Many other underseat subs start at 80Hz, which miss out all of the lower frequency band (correct me if I’m wrong, I believe bass frequency starts from around 20-40Hz).
The subwoofer comes in full metal body, which feels cool to the touch and durable (heavy as well!). This should work great in terms of cooling. It has all necessary included in the box except a spare terminal connector for the sub remote wire. The sub remote wire has pre-crimped terminal connectors (2 connectors for whether the wire in your head unit/amp is a male or female); however, in my case, the wire in my amp isn’t pre-crimped so I have to splice into the wire to make it work.
After the installation and some EQ settings, the result is great. The gain should be set to low (and increase bass volume from the headunit/amp instead) to avoid static sound from the sub, but I suppose that’s common for all sub.
All in all, an excellent, affordable and robust subwoofer for average users. Won’t shake the car or vibrate the mirrors but will definitely satisfy the majority of average users like me.
