I used these chisels to remove both quarter panels from my 1970 Camaro Z28. The panel cutter worked flawlessly and the spot weld chisel was extremely helpful for getting to those hard to get spot welds.
Bought this to replace my old chisel set and works grea
i cant compare to a snap on but Torque Test Channel on youtube did and the results showed this is really only 5% behind on power but for 250$ as opposed to 650$ snap on i tried this and dont regret one bit, nice trigger easy to feather and comfortable grip, if your upgrading from a cheap 30$ short barrell dont think twice this thing will blow your socks off- update will cut through a 1/2″ bolt with a chisel bi
bought this the remove tile, made the job super easy with a 3″steel chisle.
ive used this also in my shop for removing rusted axle and engine to swingarm/frame shafts on motorcycles. 10x better than the common Harbor freight $20 air chisle.
comes in a nice case.
Air Hammer 5 stars
Chisels 3 stars but overall worth it for the price and gets the job done.
It hits hard and gets the job done. Just as strong as a snap o
Plenty of power. Friend has snap on air hammer. Couldn’t take out ball joint.. This took it out with ease.
I am a professional and have been working on cara almost 10 years now. Needed a new air hammer after my old one finally gave up. Snap on just the tool was $700. Matco tools $570-$600. This came with the same stuff and is the manufacturer who makes the matco tools one. I would rather spend $250 than what the tool truck wants for the same quality.
I purchased this product to replace my older one while tackling a wheel hub/bearing job. This IR hammer is a well-built product, is a little heavier than my old one; however, it fits my hand nicely. And, it is packed with a lot more beans than my old one. I should have gotten this one long ago! Strongly recommended!
Tried these out on a job, really great for the money. Good finish quality. Would recommend this to maintenance techs or auto techs if they don’t want a tool truck version.
This air hammedr works great for bucking and chiseling and removing frozen pins it pacts a lot of punch and has held up well
Absolutely worth every penny I spent on this. Compared to tool truck brands this is just as good and hits just as hard if not harder. This tool is a lifesaver! Recommend to anyone needing an air hammer save some coin and get this!
if you have the ingersoll air hammer chisels will not fit the actual gun, It will fir the quick release holder but will not fit the gun its self, the diameter of the hole is to small for the chisels to drop fully into the gun, My opinion would be to measure the diameter of the guns holder not the quick release and then find chisels that may/will fit this gun.
The gun itself is good but i cant say how good as i cant use it just yet.
I’m a professional tech and this hammer is great . Soft controllable trigger and lots of power. Guys have snap , mat, mac all come to me to use it . Well with the cheader and your time. On the bad side , bits-chisles are junk just saying.
Buddy has a Mac. Looks exactly like this IR airhammer. I have been abusing this tool for the past month working in a high volume shop. Only one thing I couldn’t get out and neither could his. Had to leave the hub on a 20ton press for a few hours routinely giving it a few blows from the airhammer every time I walked past it before it finally came free. In my opinion, a quarter the cost of the Mac and performs just as well if not better than the Mac. 100% recommend this IR airhammer.
I took a leap of faith on this Air hammer before buying an over priced snap-on hammer.
All of my co-workers insisted no other hammer would come close to a snap-on 3050 super duty, and not to waste my money.
I work as a trailer mechanic, so this air hammer is used daily on 1/4″ rivets, chipping, and punching them out of trailer panels, knocking loose old ass bolts, and bucking 1/4″ stainless rivets with ease, and fast.
I was very worried my co-workers were correct and I was actually throwing my money away. I can confidently say that this Air hammer has no noticeable difference from a snap-on 3050 as i’ve used my co-workers. The snap-on does have a variable level setting knob, this one does not.
It has excellent trigger control, very easy to start light, and ramp up smoothly to full power.
Same weight and feel as the 3050.
I am now only worried about how long this hammer will continue to hit as hard as it does, I’ve currently had it for 3 weeks. Will update this review if it does lose it’s power. Hope this review helps fellow heavy duty industrial workers make their decision.
The air hammer itself is awesome, as I have been using it for nearly a year now and have had no issues.
The bits on the other hand are not great, dull quickly, and deform easily.
Still a great purchase, you just need to have good quality bits to go with it.
This hammer is great and has awesome power. I say it’s better than the snap-on hammer they got and it’s a bit lighter too. Matco is also no match for this one and the price is even better. Don’t fret just get this hammer.
Of the six air hammers I have had over the years. They all made a lot nose but not mush push.
This I R hammer has lots of push. Put a hammer bit in it and it makes metal move.
This is a good air hammer to have.
I work as a mechanic with over 40 years of experience. My old Air chisel crapped out and I needed a new one pronto! My co-worker had this model and he highly recommended it- I used it twice and figured this was the one for me (besides- it’s Ingersoll Rand!). I ordered it up and two days later there it was! I was quite pleased with the packaging- several very useful bits and a really nice case to store them in. So far, the air chisel hasn’t let me down- time will tell if it’s worth the money but I’m guessing it will be.
Works great. Ordered because I had a bolt rusted in a bushing I couldn’t beat out with a sledge and this thing with a flat face bit had it out in seconds.
I bought this air hammer because I had a ceased up bolt on a truck that I could get loose with a hammer. This air hammer worked great and broke the bolt loose. I should have own one of these a long time ago!!
I have used matco, snap on, and Mac. This hammer will compete with them. And you won’t break the bank. The bits are made for a kids toy. But we are all buying this for the hammer. Which is an absolute tank so far. I work at a trailer fabrication and repair shop for reference on what I do with it.
Very pleased with the feel & performance of this hammer , replaced a 2 year old Laser air hammer which tbh worked ok for the price , bits suppied are not as good as other brands but overall pleased with the hamme
I use this to remove and tighten large hydraulic connections that are not easily accessible with large wrenches. So far it’s working great! I haven’t used any of the supplied bits yet as I purchased the hammer and drift bits separately. She’s a bit long, but hits hard.
Bought this for my wife (who is the actual mechanic). She works on semis and trailers. All diesel. She says it works really well. Uses it here and there like when she does wheel seals or whatever the mechanic mumbo jumbo. So far I’m glad I bought it.
It’s got power but not near the power I thought it would have. Also, sometimes it gets in a mood where it just does not want to work. I don’t know if it is a stuck valve or something else.
I do not know why I was pleasantly surprised by the power of this air hammer? It is IR and I have had IR products before esp considering Matco used them for pretty much all their air tools for a long time. This thing hits harder than the bass drop at an EDM concert!!! It is now one of my favorite tools.
I have to admit, I was skeptical about getting a new air hammer and the reviews about this one. I had a MAC air hammer I used for 25 years and purchased a Snap on one a few years ago figuring it was getting weaker, but it outperformed the new Snap on one. A year or so later I gave the Snap on one to a young tech I was impressed with and.used the old Mac again. Well now it is getting weaker and decided to try this one. All I can say is WOW, good power, great throttle control, can’t beat the price. Would buy again.
It’s not as strong as the snapon air hammer but can put in some work. Managed to pop out ball joints I couldn’t get a cup on and can cut through bolts with no problem.
The air hammer is sturdy, fees solid to the hand.
Unfortunately the chisels weren’t good quality, chipped on me first go when I tried to get a drive shaft out.
If not I’d say 5 stars
High powered air hammer. I used it to coax bearings off of round bale rollers, all but one slid of with just simple prying while this hammer vibrated everything. Also a plus that you can feather the trigger to give more or less of a hit per circumstance.
I recently removed a pool from the yard that had decorative stone for pool coping. The coping was repurposed to make pavers for a sunken garden. However, the decorative stone had concrete stuck on one side and as is it would have made the pavers too tall. With the 119MAXK and its excellent trigger control, I was able to remove all the plaster stuck to the stone without breaking a single one! It is just amazing how much control you have on the stroke and frequency when barely pulling on the trigger. Hats off to the mechanical engineers who designed this tool.
I was able to do all this work with a 7CFM, 20 gallon compressor running a 3/8″ line at 90 PSI. Since you don’t demand a lot of air for cleaning pavers, the compressor runs only every few minutes. Glad I purchased this tool.
As any long barrel air hammer, but really amazing price, used it all day while removing lift axles off dump trucks, and it’s a good strong hammer, altho I’ll admit, did a better job when I used a matco air hammer bit, the bits that come with it almost don’t seem to transfer the impact as well, but this is a very good gu
I had about a dozen rivets I needed to knock out of a truck frame. After grinding the heads off, I tried to knock them out with a punch and sledge hammer but they would not budge. I looked at the cheap light duty air hammers that I could get locally, but decided against them since they seemed to be nothing more than noise makers. I ordered this one instead, and the next day this air hammer blasted all the rivets right out with ease.
Though I was asking myself “do you really need to spend $100+ on a tool for this?” the answer in the end is YES. It was definitely worth the money, rather than spending lots of time on other methods that might have been frustrating or ineffective.
Easy to install and makes changing chisels WAY easier.
I installed on a IR model 121 hammer. Takes about a minute to install: Just unscrew your existing spring, screw on this retainer, and tighten the three set screws.
The retainer uses a ball-lock system to retain the chisel. Pushing down the spring-loaded collar retracts the balls and allows chisels to be freely inserted/removed. When released, the collar springs back into position, exposing the balls and holding the chisel in place. With this installed, changing chisels becomes a 1-second operation.
At under twenty bucks, this should be standard equipment on every IR air hammer!
