Bought this to replace the old one that died after 10 years. I’m we had a 100 and in theory downgraded to this model, but no noticeable difference in power or performance. Definitely happy with it.
Had 3 of these over many years. Extremely useful in clearing food remains without having to use the bin. Will dispose most foods.
Installation easy but does need some plumbing skills. Very helpful manufacturer in answering questions.
If your a bit short of cash and need to replace your 65/66 then this is the one. At 200 cheaper its a no brainer, only time will tell as my 65 lasted 8 years. No modifications needed on the plumbing, just remove and install. Yes it is a bit of a pain when lifting, holding and twisting but it was done on my second attempt.
NOTE.
If your not using the air switch then it may not work when you first switch it on. What you need to do is connect the air switch (black pipe, one end to the bottom of the insinkerator and the other end to the bottom of the air switch) press the button which throws the internal switch to the closed position. This will stay permanently closed which will allow the waste disposal to be operated via a switch located in your kitche
No fault of the Seller or the Item. My wife moved the kitchen goal-posts without telling me and ordered a kitchen sink that didn’t need an Insinkerator! I think she’s going to regret that in time. I gave full 5 star marks as I’m fully familiar with Insinkerator’s and to me there are non better. Top marks to PlumbWorld who refunded me the full amount within a few days of the item being returned unused.
his is perfect for our house of 4, its not noisy and performs very well…highly recommended
Direct replacement for 10year old Waste disposer . I hope this one will give the same service
This was to replace the .65 model and fitted the existing fittings, easy to install and is a lot quieter than the previous one.
Our Insinkerator 65 died, and after some research found that this model was of virtually the same dimensions, so easily replaced in an hour. Decent price too.
The unit works well and is quieter than its predecessor. Hope it lasts as long.
These are great quality units and simple clear instructions to fit.
Brilliant bit of kit, easy to install & does the job it’s meant to quietly.
The air switch is a great idea.
Food waste mainly from eaten meal not unused food from refridgerator our food is not wasted, the item is very good in performance.
What a brilliant machine. Eats waste like you wouldn’t believe. Very, very pleased. Well worth the money.
Our old insinkerator model 66 gave up after 14 years and had to be replaced. First I thought that I would look for a bigger and more sophisticated model but in the end I did buy this.
It is surprisingly quiet and does it’s job without any hassle.
Looks good and is reasonably quiet when in use. Have not had any issues so far.
Would be good if you could get a brushed steel air switch so it matches tap but not a major issue
Why did we not have one before I never know. No more wet messy bin bags.
Fitting was easy it was the plumbing mess under the sink that took a bit of time to sort.
when you get used to one you can do without it. I had one in my previous home, had to have another one Does a good job
It was bought as a replacement on a higher model, arrived as promised, fitted in no time at all, quieter than the old model….well pleased.
Works perfect and incredibly easy to install. Grinds up all your waste food. Very little it can’t handle! Perfec
It is an exact replacement for the the sink erator model 55 which we have had for over 10 years without a problem. Excellent product.
2nd one I’ve bought, last one for the kitchen 3 years ago and still going strong. This one I’m using for apple pulping for cider making and its a great unit, easy to install and safe with the pneumatic switch.
Just put eggshells, peelings, apple cores etcetera into the Insinkerator, turn on the cold water, press the switch and within moments all the waste has gone. Listen for the change in sound. Switch off and turn off the water. What could be easier. It’s important to have a good flow of water during operation, but a half horsepower motor( in the case of our Insinkerator) gets the job done.
Much quieter than our previous insinkerator. Although the plug feels flimsier, it fits more tightly. Only used it once, so far very happy.
I found that this model 56 will replace my old 65 model at half the price of a new 66 model ! , same connections and sizing, slightly reduced horse power.tip have someone hold the flange down in the sink as you offer the fixing flange up to the fixing plate under the sink ,the 56 model works very well and is as efficent as my old sinkerator which was 11 years old.
Perfect fit replacement for a 10yr old defunct 55. Same size so easily swapped.
Nice product, easy to install and with the nice added touch of the air switch. Would really like to have the choice though when ordering to have the option of having the extended flange rather than the standard. Telling the customer that they will have to pay an extra 30 for the additional flange is not nice.
It works well. My only criticsim is that it is a big beast!
had a problem to start with as it was leaking from the unit but got in touch with the company that sold it and got it sorted with a replacement so i love it now its quieter than my old one which was on its last legs or in this case last drop of water:)
Much quieter and now has a removable rubber piece at the top which makes cleaning so much easier.
Very quite.
Instruction good but not perfect as images small.
our last one lasted about thirteen years every day use – this one is even better – and its just a straight swap – all the connections have been made to suit the old type exactly!
Would I recommend totally!
Wasn’t sure this was a good idea, but now fitted think it’s really good. Fitted it myself and found instructions very good. The feature of the air button for stopping and starting it is very good. The actual unit itself seems to be very well made. The main components seem to be strongly constructed and I anticipate that the unit if treated properly should last years. Time will tell.
Replacement for the previous version which I have had for 8 years. It’s much quieter, so that’s great. Be warned, however, you will have to change the sink fitting. They have changed it and one won’t affix to the other, which makes the job longer. Delivered super quick too.
Waste fitting on inSinkErator is USA size and needs a bit of thought as UK size pipe is bigger.
It’s easy to fit to the sink, very quiet and works well. The only comment I would make is that the grinder itself is made in the USA and mine came with a compression outlet coupling labelled “UK”. However, Floplast 40mm pipe was slightly too big to fit this coupling, so I had to improvise by using a part of an unused trap and an additional straight 40mm compression coupler to couple to the Floplast pipe.
I bought this as a replacement for an existing waste disposal that was leaking and beyond repair. After some research on the insinkerator website, I desided on this mid range model. It was easy to fit and does a great job. Hopefully, it will last 12 years as the previous one did.
We replaced our sinks in our new home and wanted to install a waste disposal in the new sink. We have used Insinkerator before, and this time selected a mid-range model. In the past we have had the cheapest ones, and they have been perfectly satisfactory, but the last one lasted 7 years and we hope this one will have a longer life. We are not heavy users – we mostly wash light dish scrapings before consigning a plate to the dishwasher. This unit was perfect, and it came supplied with an air control that we have not had before.
Great product.
Highly recommend this company.
