I’ve thoroughly road tested these by taking work calls in some challenging situations, and they’ve performed perfectly:
– Backstage at a music festival whilst they were doing a soundcheck, less than 5 meters from the sound system
– On a building site on the other side of a wall that someone was drilling into
In both scenarios, plus many more every day ones, the people I’ve been talking to have not experienced any sound interruption and had no idea that I was taking a call from such a noisy environment. All they heard was my voice, and no background noise.
I’d recommend these to everyone.
Bought as a replacement for a broken pair. Good value and perfectly good sound quality for my work needs like meetings, call and screen recording. Noise cancellation is not something I have bothered with but definitely appreciate that now.
I work in a busy office and needed to be heard by the people on the other end of a Teams call. This does the trick. Single ear piece does not cut out the noise from the room but that works for me. I was so impressed I bought the Stereo headset shortly after the mono set. The mic is just as good but i would have hoped that the stereo headset would have cut more noise than it did. When things get laud in the room it can sometime be hard to hear what people are saying, however those on the call can hear me perfectly. Five stars might be too high for the stereo but the mono is not expected to cut out the background noise.
These are excellent for working calls in a noisy area
Quite brilliant. It looks great. It communicates with desktop and laptop with minimal input from you. Even when you click on the little speaker icon on your Windows screen the PC overrides the controls on the arm of the headphones and you can easily alter the volume that way. The sound is superb. Lots of forthcoming Zoom meetings lined up for me.The headphone set is now my default for both sound and microphone on Zoom. The webcam which I have is still in use. The lack of good microphone audio within the webcam now can be forgotten – AND others in the Zoom meetings will be able to hear me. Delighted on all counts.
Wasn’t sure what to expect but by Jove they are comfortable and people I’m on call with can not hear my cats beating the living tits off of each other!
They do the job pretty well – I’d encourage downloading the related software so that you can edit particular functions.
eally pleased with these Headphones, I was having alot of issues with people not hearing me correctly or me not hearing them on Work conference calls, I dont have to ask any more… can you hear me… these are confortable and very easy to use
Materially this feels pretty nice. The cable is shortish, so you can’t go wandering around your office with these on – but on the other hand you don’t get tangled up in masses of cable. I may have a fat head, because on maximum extension these only just fit me. It comes with a little thin soft foam bag, which keeps it from getting knocked around in your laptop bag.
The fancy features like lifting/lowering the mic to mute/unmute, and all the LEDs, only work in very specific apps even if you install the Jabra Direct software. In Google Meets those features definitely don’t work (Jabra support say that Google needs to support “RCC”) and instead it acts like a dumb headset and you have to click the on-screen mute button like an animal. In Zoom the fancy features work.
It also works fine for playing music.
Good product and sounds are clear too. It’s got a hard grip but getting used to it. Over all, i will recommend this product.
After several orders and returns I think I have found the most compatible for home working and a headset compatible with Microsoft Teams.
I received a similar headset for work so was able to test it out (try before I bought) and I was thoroughly impressed so bought one for home use. Works extremely well with HP and Microsoft teams
After being recommended this headset whilst working from home, I ordered these. The audio quality is great and works well for MS Teams calls. Comfort is nice but for people with slightly larger heads like mine, the earpieces start to dig into my head during longer calls and i feel like i need to readjust it to get a comfortable area. The comfort of these are far better than the previous generation of this headset where there was no comfort on the headband section. I will keep using these though as can get used to where i need to put the earpieces.
Good quality product that works well on Windows 10. Sound quality is very good. Integration with MS Teams is good and useful.
Some negatives that prevent 5 stars:
1) the mic is a bit flimsy and perhaps a bit closer to my face than I’d like.
2) Cable is too short really.
3) personally I’d prefer a mute button on the cable rather than on the headset.
I use these headphones daily for at least 4 hours per day on conf calls via Skype, The sound is quality is excellent although after this amount of time you do get a slight ache in the ears due to the band over your head but this is only when using them for the amount of time I have listed. I would recommend these to anybody that is required to be on calls for long periods of time and put clarity (including speech) over the ability to walk around (i.e. a bluetooth set)
Overall I am pleased with the Jabra Evolve 2 – USB C version. I had been using the original Jabra Evolve headset in my previous job and bought this for my new role. Sound quality and overall build seems good. However the cable is very stiff and conducts sound to the headset when knocked against something such as my desk. The older model had a much more flexible cable. Its probably better to buy the wireless version. It looses a star because of the cable.
The sound level of my voice on my Dell laptop would suddenly drop when I was in a Zoom conference and my voice could not be heard. These headphones fixed this problem. Initially I had problems getting the headphones to work on both Zoom and Teams, but the Jabra support person was exceptionally helpful and the headphones now work very well on both Zoom and Teams. I use them all the time.
This headset is really great for doing high quality web calls. Voices are very clear in the headphones, and the microphone is good at picking up the right levels. I like the mute feature when you raise the mic as well. Highly recommend if you do a lot of web calls
I’ve been using these for a few weeks now for conference calls. They are good and a big improvement on a cheaper pair I had been using. They seem to work fine with Skype, WebEx and MS Teams. The only negative is that the cable length is a bit short so I have to use a USB extension cable.
This is a nice pair of headphones, well-built and attractive in appearance. The pull-down microphone, switching on the microphone as it comes down, switching it off as it returns to the up position, is a particularly good idea (great for Zoom and its alternatives) and the volume controls — which in use sit behind your right ear — are also good. Those volume controls also double as next track/previous track/play-pause buttons when listening to music.
According to the Jabra website, the 40mm speakers have a frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz; and a sensitivity of 117db@1mW-1kHz. That’s a not bad set of figures in as far as it goes, but it would be nice to also have data on impedance, sound pressure level and total harmonic distortion; I haven’t been able to discover those.
These headphones are ‘on ear’, but the pads are comfortable and the headband grips tightly enough to do the job without being too tight, so they are comfortable in use. Given that my head is medium-sized, and the right adjustment of the ear-pieces for me is about midway on the adjustment slots, the headphones appear capable of fitting most heads from smallish to largish.
However, you can forget ‘Noise cancelling’, and the slightly more modest claim of the packaging, ‘Noise isolating design’. They scarcely reduce any sound at all, let alone cut it out. If you work in a noisy environment, it will still be a noisy environment.
The lead is approx. 1.47m (4′ 10″) in length. That is adequate in most circumstances, and is a little more than on some headphones. It is attached to the right hand side of the headset. Mine has a USB-A plug on the end; USB-C is an option. The microphone boom is also on the right. A simple pouch to put the headset in for transport or storage is a nice extra.
Mine set themselves up on Windows 10 and Windows 7 (yes, still!) computers without my having to download any software. That, it would seem, is available from the Jabra website if required, but I haven’t tried it.
Many people considering a purchase will not have music primarily in mind — yet the headphones are likely to be used for that too. Tone, bass and treble reproduction and sound separation are all good enough for most people, most of the time — but they aren’t hi-fi. If you use top of the range gear at home, you will notice the difference. The deeper, quieter tones (e.g. plucked double bass — orchestral, country, and some jazz and folk music) are left further in the background than they should be.
Working from home has become the new norm and more meetings are being conducted online due to social distancing. Unfortunately working from home has many disadvantages such as privacy and distractions. This headset will surely help with that. They are quite comfortable to wear and feel nicely padded. The L and R is printed discreetly inside ear cuff. It connects to your computer by a standard usb A cable.
You can watch videos or listen to music with them but were they are best put to use is for calls. When I used them the caller said I was clear and you wouldn’t know I was using a headset. I can confirm when you put up the microphone that the audio muted. When you press button on side to answer call a red light will show to let others know you are in a call.
Buttons behind right ear cuff for play/pause, volume up/next track, volume down/preview. track etc making it easier to control.
Currently priced at 101.00 at time of review. I would say value for money depends on how many calls you make and comfort when worn, I find them good but I don’t wear for long periods. I also wear glasses and they sat well without pushing on them which is good.
I love the sound from these head phones – it is rich, clear and immersive, it feels like it is filling the room rather than just the headphones. The sound really seems to suit the contemporary classical music that I like to listen too. My husband (who is a sound technician and a bit of a audio snob), likes to listen to high quality sound files of 90’s dance music – the headphone quality meets with his approval also.
It works well for zoom meetings too – nice clear audio from the mic and clear sound from the headphones, it really does help with focus.
I had to purchase an adaptor to use this with my phone – it works well for listening to audio but I cannot get the mic to work so it is no use for meetings or calls on the phone.
Mostly I use this for listening to audiobooks in bed. These headphones are much more comortable than my old headphones – they are lighter and smaller. I probably wear then for a maximum of 3 hours at a time and suffer no discomfort.
