Got it for my son as some of his lessons are online and helps with good posture. And as usual fantastic audio quality from Jabra.
My pc speaker crackles now from 1.5yrs home working. This speaker is great, small, great sound quality and fits in my laptop bag with ease when I do need to take it with me.
Used this speaker for a few months now and no complaints at all. Great quality sound too.
Really like this for working from home.
Much better than wearing a headset all day.
Great to have the mute highlighted by red LEDs.
Worth mentioning that the microphone quality will not be as good as a headset microphone.
Compatible with Windows 10 without any specific installation.
Sound speaker quality is great for a small home office
Bought for my daughter for Christmas and she is delighted with it. So convenient not to wear earphones.
Good product which is probably why they can charge so much. Means your not tied down with wired earphones. Especially good for conference calls as room can listen.
Works well in large spaces – used with up to 10 people in one meeting.
I could have gone for the more expensive next model up that uses Bluetooth. But this is for a home office and the USB version suited me just fine. It’s a quality item in a nice carry case. The audio is excellent and it’s easy to use. I love the volume controls and mute button. Would 100% recommend.
This is my speaker to the world and I use it every day. It’s worked non-stop this year, as I’m mainly in my home office, and it’s always in my case on the rare occasion I have travelled.
Integration for webex and teams.
Would have preferred to have for Bluejeans and hangout also.
Google hangout was not so great until I had enabled the echo cancelation from the hangout settings.
However overall is better with this than headphones.
Works really well for Microsoft Teams meetings with clear sound from speaker and microphone works very well. Sound easily controllable and muting of microphone very easy. Not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for and this is well worth the cost.
This is an amazing piece of kit, today alone I’ve had to host multiple skype conference calls and all these calls were clear and crisp very impressive and I’m very happy with this purchase
I replaced a Plantronics P610 with this because it stopped working on my Mac with Skype for Business, this Jabra speaker phone works perfectly on a Mac with Skype for Business , all the buttons function as advertised (unlike the Plantronics) , and the sound quality is excellent.
Used these in work for a while so I bought this to use in my home office.
Great quality and really easy to use for Skype MS Teams or any other webex or chat platform.
The advert stipulated the Jabra 410 has a ‘Headset port for private calls’ – which was one the reasons I selected with product. This is not true the feature is not available on the Jabra 410 supplied.
It was easy to setup, with a company locked down Windows 10 client. I use with both WebEx and Cisco Softphone over wi-fi and fibre home broadband. The sound quality is excellent in terms of both hearing other participants in a call, but also verified that people can hear me without any issues – eg no sound drop out or echo on the line. I would heartily recommend to anyone working from home or needing to take a portable conference speaker on their travels. Much better setup than using a headset when you’re not in a public place.
I do a lot of Skype meetings these days and had been relying on the mic and speaker in my laptop. A new client recently mentioned the Jabra 410 so I thought I’d better give it a go. Have to say I’m really impressed, it works well as a speaker bothe for the conference calls and to play music, but mainly it’s a really good omni mic.
Excellent product. I work from home and have lots of teleconferences, so this is just awesome for those who like me don’t like to spend all day with headsets on. Works fine with Lync, Webex etc. Highly recommended
A couple of work colleagues each had one of these and boasted about them. I had got tired of wearing over/in ear headsets so decided to get one. cant fault it and it works fantastically with Skype for business.
Just the job for working from home and not having to keep a headset on. Loud enough to be able to get a coffee and still “attend” the meeting. Makes you very popular in office too. Lots of new friends wanting to borrow my jabra.
I purchased this when I was facilitating a meeting on 8 people, but had a couple of people dialing into a teleconference bridge. From our side all was clear, but remote recipients describe sound (on several other calls where I have used from home also) as a bit ‘remote’. My internet connection is really bad however, and I have yet to find a device which is any better.
Great conference phone with no feedback. It comes in a neat neoprene pouch that’s handy for storage. The only watch out I would say for Mac users is that you can’t answer for finish calls based on the touch hardware buttons, but have to use the ones on your applicatio
As a homeworker who spends most of my day on Skype for Business conference calls, this conference speakerphone is fantastic. People have commented how clear I sound compared to speaking on headset or direct to laptop…excellent sound quality for me listening also. Great price and quick despatch from Bayur…highly recommended!
I love love love the speaker! Intergrates nicely with Jabber and Webex and has crystal clear sound. My conference calls are so much better now, I have freedom to move and am no longer tethered to my desk with a head set (which you can easily plug into the speaker if you need to go silent for a while)
Excellent little speaker. Blows the PC’s on board speakers clean out the water. Crisp and clear voice on Skype for Business. Some issues (my fault) with getting it to reliably switch on!! Usually have a few minutes fighting with settings before I can hear, despite the speaker being set as the default. There seem to be about four places that you can tell the PC to make it work!!
I’ve used a Jabra 410 at work for conference calls and was very happy with the product so purchased one for home use. I have it plugged into a USB2 port on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and everything works out the box, including the hardware volume and mute buttons on the device itself. Great audio quality.
Works very well – audio is clear and loud also everyone I’ve called with it says they can hear me very well.
Since brought an additional bluetooth version for my office, probably worth spending the extra money to be able to pair it with a phone. But if you want to just use it with a PC this version will be fine.
Excellent clarity over IP, often much better than our phone lines. I can see why a no wire option might be easier, particularly in big conference rooms, but for small 1-3 people calls linked to a laptop or IP tv, this is grea
I am a professional online collaboration consultant and work virtually with teams all around the world from my home office. I have been using the Jabra Speak 410 for more than two years now on a constant basis, using it almost exclusively for VOIP discussions 5-10 times a day.
I very rarely need to use a headset these days as the sound quality from the echo-canceling microphone is so good that many can not tell I’m headset-free. For me, it makes my life much easier as I do not have to wear a headset all day to be able to talk to my colleagues and clients, but this kind of use does require a private office.
It also comes in extremely useful for small-medium meetings where several people may want to gather in a meeting room and some people may connect using online collaboration technology (Lync, Adobe Connect, Google Hangouts etc.). This enables high-quality audio to and from everyone in the meeting room with a 3-4 meter effective range on the mic.
I have tested it with many technologies with complete success – Lync, Google Hangouts, Skype, Adobe Connect, Citrix… even ChatRoulette!
I really can not recommend this item enough – is is small and portable, comes with a handy pouch for transport, extremely easy to setup (just plug and play) and provides superb audio quality from the built-in speaker and echo-canceling microphone.
If I were to pick up on areas of improvement I would say that the answer/hangup buttons that work so well with Lync would be great if they worked with Hangouts and Skype too. Also; having two microphones placed on opposite sides of the unit would be helpful in some larger meetings, but this would probably cause more issues than it solved.
I highly recommend the Jabra Speak 410.
I use this every day and many hours each day as I work from home. Previously using a Jabra headset that was perfectly clear but after a few hours it would hurt my ears where it “clamped” onto my head. This resolved that problem immediately and has other benefits:
* looks better on video calls as you don’t have the headset
* allows sharing calls with others in the office
* packs into a very neat travel case and weighs very little
Integration with Lync is good – volume, mute, answer and close calls via touch controls on the rim of the speaker. Clear visual indication when on mute.
Losing one start because the Mute and Lync Mute sometimes get out of synch and can’t get back in without closing the call and restarting. It is not a big problem but irritating when it happens and you need to make a point quickly … can’t unmute and lose the moment. Not sure if this is fair for Jabra, it could be Lync or other influence but making it clear in this review.
Would I buy again – YES – this is a great device and I would not look for any other, it makes working from home on conference calls a much more pleasant experience and outperforms the PC microphone by a huge margin.
If you like me are always on video conferences, this is the device for you. Touch sensitive sections around the speaker allow you to start / stop or mute a call. Speech is very clear and the built in microphone picks up your voice without having to shout. Beats wearing a headset hands down.
Quite the best PC gadget I’ve purchased for years. I am a road warrior & occasional home worker & I use this device for many hours a week. It’s small & light with marvellous sound quality; however the principal point is that it frees up the hands (and ears) so facilitates far higher productivity than a headset, even when working alone. It’s also a highly effective conference ‘phone, of course. It even comes with a small carrying bag, also essential if you’re a regular traveller. Very highly recommended.
This works with Lync brilliantly and makes long conference calls all the more bearable. Sound quality of hearing and being heard is excellent. Just what i needed. Comes with a lovely travel pouch and is light to carry, fitting in my laptop bag easily. am well pleased with this. Buy it, you will not regret it.
Bought this to have Lync meetings at work, as internal laptop speakers and microphones were failing to do the job.
There were some issues getting the speaker to be the primary audio device when it was initially plugged in, but this was a software issue not the speaker.
Now that all the teething problems have been sorted out this product is fantastic, so much so I have ordered another one to be issued to another team so that we can have more virtual meetings rather than face to face ones.
Great product and would recommend this to anyone who has regular meetings, but doesn’t want to spend the time and money getting staff driving all around the country to attend them.
Don’t often write reviews but this product ticked all the boxes in every way and Amazon’s delivery service left me gobsmacked – ordered in the early hours Sunday, had it by 0900 Monday ready for a conference call at 0915. We just plugged it in and that was that – it was immediately recognised by my Mac and delivered faultless audio using 2 internet conferencing services. Fantastic.
I work from home but travel around for meetings and this little hub is excellent. We use Lync in work for teleconferences and the audio and microphone quality from this is superb. Its much sturdier than headphones so a lot easier to chuck in my work bag when I leave home so I always get excellent quality teleconferences
I have used a variety of USB speakerphone products as part of my work, and also to have conversations with friends. I had been using a ClearOne Chat 50 which is small and has good features, but I found it did not integrate with my desktop voice application (VoIP) very well (I use CounterPath’s Bria application on Windows). The product from Jabra is compliant to the HID standard which is also understood by Bria – what this means is I can answer calls, and hang them up by pressing the relevant place on the speakerphone, rather than using a mouse or the keyboard. This is handy as when a call somes in, its simple to answer or refuse it.
The quality of the voice is excellent – and the speakerphone has a wide range of loudness – certainly better than the ClearOne I was using. It has visual feedback (LEDs on the circumference of the unit) telling you when the mic is muted, and how loud you have selected it to be (an increasing set of white dots light up round the edge of the unit). You can adjust the volume by simply tapping on one or the other side of the unit (- and + symbols for lower/higher volume).
The USB cable wraps neatly round the base of the unit, and the USB plug itself clicks into position under the unit which stops it hanging free and getting tangled. It comes with a soft zip pouch for travel purposes.
Overall, very happy with the quality of the build and performance of the product. Works with standard VoIP products like Bria, XLite etc, and also Skype (its just a mic and speaker to Windows) – though Skype does not understand HID so you cannot answer or hangup calls from the unit, you have to use Skype itself.
Read other reviews and spent a lot of time deciding on the best way to participate in telecons from my home office. Our IT department recommended a very expensive wireless headset, but in the end I selected this option at a third of the price, plus it seems much less likely to break in my laptop bag when travelling.
While deciding on options I’d used an old headset – everyone complained that they could not hear me very clearly. With this speaker phone no complaints, plus I’m now able to participate in 3+ hour telecons without getting a very warm ear. Plus I think its important to hear through two ears, not just one.
Although it is best to fully install the driver, all the important functions on the speakerphone Volume up + down and mute worked from the moment I plugged it into the side of my computer. As I do not have admin rights to my work computer I had to get our IT dept. to install the driver properly (via remote link) – no issue. All buttons do everything they are meant to with the SoftPhone (Cisco).
This does not work on Linux out of the box. The device is detected, but audio playback does not work. However I have written a small kernel patch which fixes this: search for “alsa-devel Jabra Speak 410” to find the patch.
With the patched kernel and Skype I found the sound quality to be excellent, and all the features worked as advertised.
Edit: Jabra have released a firmware update that fixes the audio playback problem without needing any kernel update. You need at least firmware 1-3-0.
We got the Jabra for tele-conferencing – it is excellent (although the equipment arrived much later than expected). The speaker is just enough for a room (about 5 x 10 m) with up to 30 people, the microphone (only one) is very sensitive and serves well the people in such room (noise suppression is also fine).
I am home based worker and spend about 60% of my time in teleconferences. I have tried (and returned) a few products supposed to improve the ease of conducting teleconferences over VOIP and Microsoft Lync. Some units were double the price of this unit but weren’t great. I was starting to think that there was nothing that was going to meet my home office needs until I tried this speakerphone!
If you are looking for a USB speakerphone, you need look no further. Hands-down this is the best product by a very long way!
Good points:
# true plug and play.
# excellent speaker and mic quality… Fantastic actually (it has made it a big difference to my participation in teleconferences).
# excellent volume with very rich sound.
# amazingly sensitive mic (no complaints of metallic distortion from other meeting participants).
# tap-touch volume control and mute button with nifty indicators to show volume and mute on.
# feels well made and solid with non-slip base.
# cord wraps around base for easy packing in the pouch it comes with.
# it is small enough to be fully portable but probably not quite small enough to fit easily into a small laptop bag.
Only one minor negative comment: the “answer” and “call end” buttons didn’t automatically integrate with Lync on my pc and I have to use the traditional on-screen buttons. I understand that this can be corrected with a software install but I haven’t bothered because I would have to get IT to install it. Very minor comment. UPDATE: my IT department installed the Jabra software. It works very well and connects seamlessly with Lync. You can even put participants on hold. i have had this product for several months and still love it.
As it so happens, my company (7,000 staff, multinational) simultaneously ran a trial with the Jabra 410. They came to the same conclusion and the speakerphone is now available in all our conference rooms!
If you have a lot of VOIP or lync conference calls, this speakerphone is for you. It is worth ever penny.
This was a brilliant product -which would work even better if you used Microsoft Office Communicator when the ring and answer system would work – but I use it with Google chat on Windows 7 operating system and the clarity of the microphone and the range is superb. It could also double up as an external speaker on a laptop but it doesn’t really compare that well to Harmon Kardon speakers I use with my desktop. Overall though for a small conference speaker phone in a very neat carry bag it’s excellent – you may need a USB extension though as the USB cable provided is rather short (about a meter).
