Takes time to get used to manual settings but this is a really good item especially for the price. In fact it is a way of getting away from the lazy auto settings I would normally choose and makes me more of the photographer I was 30 years ago.
This the lens I would recommend to all for taking photos of swan’s , planes and the moon the lens is so powerful it let’s you have more fun taking photos thank you your the bes
This appears to be well made but can only be used in manual mode, which for a novice and amateur isn’t ideal but once you get to grips it works very well
For the money it’s a great bit of kit you won’t win any photography awards but for an amateur photographer on a small budget it’s fantastic
Well built and does it’s job. Amazing value and excellent customer service experience .
There was the wrong camera adapter in the box, I emailed them and within three days I had the replacement.
The supplied allen key was needed to set the t-mount in line with the rest of lens.
Should be good to use in well lit scenes. ISO settings may need tweeking a bit.
EDIT
Just added an FT1 adaptor and can now use the lens on a Nikon 1 Camera.
This lens is just great, So powerful. No auto focus, but that is fine. Just use a tripod and get some amazing pictures. Very good value for money. And the customer care is 1st class.
Bought this for night photography and stunning views of moon. Focusing is a bit tricky in the night sky but with practice got good moon shots. Tried for bright daylight and surprised at results. Need to be happy to work in manual settings but for price have had some excellent results. Used on Nikon d7100 set for manual.
This isn’t up there with the big hitters. But,for the price, it’s excellent.
This is a fantastic telescopic lens at a great price. It’s still expensive at over 100, but a lot cheaper than any other lenses that I’ve looked at. I’m just an amateur photographer and I’ve had loads of fun with this. I’ve managed to get a great picture of the moon, which I’m delighted about! Fits a Nikon D3300, I found the lens adaptor (which was included) to be a bit loose and have had to tighten it a few times, but otherwise delighted with the product. Works on manual mode only – don’t even think about automatic mode, it won’t work. You’ll need a tripod and a remote shutter button to ensure your shots are in focus. You can’t adjust your aperture as it’s an automatic focal lens but the F-stop number is printed on the extended lens so you will just need to adjust your shutter speed and ISO to suit. Brilliant piece of equipment if you’re into photography and are on a budget. Would thoroughly recommend.
I have used many lenses over the years, some good quality and some not. Never used JINTU products before purchasing this one. Its good quality, very well built and comes with trouble shooting tips to help the set up. I think now i will only buy JINTU products in the future. Buy one now before the prices of lenses go up.
Absolutely brilliant. Just what I wanted for my wildlife photography
At first I was very unsure of buy this lens but so glad I did. Well worth the money and great lens for the price.
Don’t let other brands put you of try other brands and give them a chance
Thank you Jintu for saving me alot of money.
Reasonably priced manual zoom lens ideal for practise. Good sharpness for money
Great price good quality photos just need a bit of experience using manual mode to set shutter speed, etc and definitely need a remote as otherwise camera shake affects photo.
The lens was dispatched and arrived very quickly. Being a manual lens for focus and exposure takes some getting used to, but I am really pleased with the resulting pictures. Definitely recommend.
Arrived very early, extremely well packed, looking forward to the end of the month so I can open it, as it is a birthday present. Will Change or alter review then.
Returned it as it wasn’t for me. But if you want a real budget lens for distance stuff this is pretty good given the price. Just remember it needs decent light and it’s auto focus so fast moving animals ets will be difficult.
Autofocus and image stabilisation don’t work at all on my D3400, so I just use a tripod and shutter release after I manually focus the shot. Other than that I’m very happy with it, good picture quality and great zoom.
This is a brilliant lens especially at this price range. Easy to focus and great clear images even without using a tripod. Would definitely buy from JINTU agai
Bought the lens for a bit of a project taking photos of the moon without having to get my telescope out and mount the camera to it. Easy to fit onto my camera. Lens easy to attach to my tripod. Takes a while to focus at first, but I have had some successful photos so far, using a remote shutter release. Not too big a lens, can fit it into my camera bag. Not that heavy either. Quite a thin lens, so need to increase ISO or leave shutter open longer to get suitable brightness. I do need to purchase something to manually control my f stop, as it is stuck on f1.4 with the lens on, making getting everything in focus quite difficult. But for the money, the lens is great.
I own a bridge Nikon Coolpix P900 with an 83x optical or 2,000mm DSLR equiv zoom. Just recently bought a Nikon D780 body with a Nikkor AF-S 28-300mm ED VR lens. Immediately I missed going past 300mm. I appreciated with the 24mp full frame sensor, it is possible to crop in and resize. I have done it to the moon and there are compromises to be had over using the P900. So I thought I would give this a go for it’s very modest price. Yes it is not superior glass like I now own, but for anyone with a dslr on a budget who cannot afford thousands for a tele zoom, you have no choice but to get this. We all have to make compromises in life, this lens may be yours.
Unless you wish to play around with serious cropping in and then resizing and polishing off your images, this alternative is not to be sniggered at. For the money it is worth a try. I have only done a few test shots and there appeared to be vignetting at the long end, but the lens is being used on a full frame body and the lighting conditions were appaling.
Some complain about the focus, which is ridiculous as the lens is totally manual with essentially a fixed aperture. Your camera and you must be able to work in MANUAL for this to be of any use to you. Ensure you get the correct model for you camera, so you get the correct T mount to your body. Others have compalined when the t mount is on it does not have a lens cap cover at the back end. Use the one of the lens that is attached to your body !!
I paid 102. It is solidly constructed in metal not plastic. Attaches wonderfully to my D780 body and feel confident to hold the lens rather than the body when walking about. To say I am pleasantly surprised would be a gross understatement. Just remember you are spending 100 not 20,000, but this is not to say, from the few shots I have taken it is cheap, far from it. It is a bargain for what it delivers and I am more than satisfied. Seriously recommended.
Well, it is a cheap lens so it will off course not be comparable with more upscale precise lenses from other makers such as Sigma or Nikon.
But for the money, I believe it is good.
Great lens takes a bit of getting used to which can’t be bad because it forces you to use your camera in manual mode
First, I was not sure to order. as it was really cheap for this kind of lenses. However, after I received it and test it was really satisfying. Because of the weight and length of the lens, you need a really stable tripod and remote control for your camera. It is manual and needs a good focus manually. After that, it is a brilliant lens. Oh, I recommend clear and sunny weather to have the best picture.
I bought this lens, skeptical of its low price, only to be pleasantly surprised.
Whilst the lack of autofocus is a pain, it can produce crisp images when focused correctly. To use the lens effectively, I’d strongly advise a tripod and remote shutter to reduce motion.
It can also be used for deep sky astrophotography, provided you have a star tracker and stable tripod, as shown by the attached image.
I bought this as I don’t have over a grand to spend on a lens!
Although not expecting much, for less than 100.00 Gbp, I was pleasantly suprised.
The lenses are acceptable. The quality of the construction far exceeds my expectaions.
Although not to a professional standard, I am able to photograph far distant objects with ease.
Yes, you have to focus manually (don’t expect auto focus in this price range.
Photos are perfectly acceptable (unless you are wanting to sell them).
The balance point (tripod fitting) is not horizontally adjustable, but the balance seems right, to me.
Please dont expect Bentley quality, at Skoda prices, and you won’t be dissapointed.
I am very happy with this telephoto lens.
Very good for the money. Manual focus is just as easy, but for longer shots, something is needed for stabilisatio
This lens fits my d3500 nikon, using manual lens again is fun, using shutter ,iso to get correct exposure ,you do need a good tripod
This lens is super value. I have used a few times now and slowly but surely getting used to it. So long as you follow their instructions of use and remember that you are not going to be getting perfectly focused pictures first time. You will have fun getting used to it. I know I am!
Product looks really well made and came in good time bought as a present.
Picture quality is excellent. As I said bought as a present and my father loves it not put it down since Saturday
I am very happy about service and delivery. My order arrived 2 days earlier than shown on order process. This product is amazing. Manualy as stated in instructions. I tried a little as time let me did it. I just reminded like I took pictures 30 years ago. It is easy to use and it worka properly. Fun starts soon for me as quick as I start use my order. Next week. Good choice. Recommend this product to anyone who likes take pictures manualy cause it is really nice fun. Strongly recommend seller. Thank you very much
Great product but beware you need an adapter to fit onto your camera so had to spend an additional 23.
Bought this as a very cheap attempt at wildlife photography, if you work round the fact that this is a fixed aperture manual focus lens then the quality of image it produces is amazing for the price. Not sure about the durability yet but with care this looks good.
If buying be aware that although it fits a number of Nikon models the ability to focus is not consistent, eg the focus is much softer on a D90 than on a D7100.
Had problem but it was me I sorted it now very happy just take some time to get use to it very happy thank you again for the help
This is an awesome bit of kit! Honestly. It’s just a well built telescope with a Nikon fit. Takes a bit of getting used to as it will not talk to your camera. You either have to go old school and do some maths for a good exposure, or just take test shots till you’re happy.
Solid Alloy body is great but HEAVY! You will need not only a tripod but a remote shutter release to minimise vibration.
Seriously the best hundred quid I have spent in ages.
Image Nikon D5100 with lens at full zoom. ISO 200. 1/100s f(God knows) 50% crop.
Have this on my Nikon D3200 , it’s great quality for the price. Have only used it once but was actually amazed at the zoom and the clarity . Looking forward to using it more
Fantastic product, Great pictures and works exactly as described. The only slightly disappointing thing Is the pouch to keep the lens in but for the price I’m a very happy person 🙂
I bought this for my son’s 21st birthday he is also an Astrophysicist. So far so good a bit early to say ye
AS long as you are happy to use manual it works very well and is sharpe for the money – must be on a tripod with remote for best results
LOVE THIS I’M USING IT ON A NIKON D3300 practising on the trees at the moment I find they are the best to work on
might get the 2xadapter and knock it up to a 1600mm
It took a while to arrive but now it has I can honestly say, It’s Fantastic, I’ve not had much chance to try it out fully but am very impressed with the build quality, so much that in February I will be re ordering another one 😉
Many thanks to Jintu98 for sorting the delivery & any issues out, in a Professional manner 😉
Excellent delivery. Well packaged. Fits my Nikon D5000 perfectly. Manual focus but I can live with that easily. Cannot wait to get snapping.
Great lens that takes super sharp moon photos. Using a manual lens is great practice for using your camera in full manual mode. The pictures have turned out infinitely better than using my 420mm lens and cropping the image.
