I like these boots in all leather. These are a good boot for their price and they are comfortable. They were a little stiff when I first wore them until I go them broken in. I like the wide toe box of Keens. They seem to be well made, but I cannot attest to their durability yet. As time goes on, if they last expected for a $100+ boot, I will come back and upgrade my review and star rating.
Keen is my choice in hiking boots in terms of price versus performance. My expectation is they will last for about a year before replacement. Last year I went with their Targhee line. For the first time I felt the quality wasn’t up to par. This year I went with Pyrenees. Keen is back in the good books. Fit was great. Comfort. Waterproof. Very happy with this style.
These are high quality boots with good support matched with light weight – lighter than they appear if you’re used to older all leather boots. The standard insolesdid not match my feet but once swapped out with Superfeet insoles I’m a happy hiker now!
I use hiking boots to work in. I do lawn care, and am on my feet all day, so comfortable boots are a must. Of all the boots I’ve tried these keens are the best and last the longest with proper care, ie oil every couple of weeks.
Leather boot is durable. Big toe box is a real plus. I buy half size larger and use bigger sock.
I like the looks and comfort. No break in time needed.
These boots are exactly what I was hoping for. Built to last, strong sole and real leather. Even comes with a pair of red laces if that’s your thing. The world is headed into chaos, get a good pair of hiking boots while you still can!
Very happy with my first pair of these boots, so I ordered another pair. My first pair has lasted me one year and are still going strong. I wear them to work everyday, where I walk an average of 8 miles a day, 5 days a week. 3 weeks hiking in the Moab area and 3 weeks hiking in Colorado. Still waterproof and looking good.
Most of my footwear is size 11 but with these boots 10.5 is perfect. Well made and comfortable.
The boots are great. Not much of a break in period. They’re comfortable and do the job. About a month in, the laces started fraying. 5 months in, they’ve snapped. Shouldn’t have to replace them this soon.
Kurzum, klare Kaufempfehlung!
Great item if not sizing up a little on the large side.
Great comfort and as soon as you wear them you know these are going to give you some proper mileage.
Would need thick socks with the as they do size up a little large, but as these are a winter boot was expecting this anyway.
Good value especially in the sale
Husband tells me that these are really comfortable and easy to wear. They look really well made and like they will last and last.
Highly recommended
This is a second pair of this boot that I own, with the first one lasting at least 3 years and two outsole replacements. Unfortunately it does seem the build quality has gone down over the years. The outside isn’t glued consistently all the way around and stitching is coming apart in places, out of the box.
I bought this pair of boots for supporting my ankles on long walks with the dog..they work very well at that. Comfy and a slight springiness in the heels adds to the satisfaction. Have bought many pairs of Keen shoes and boots, I can highly recommend.
The materials and protection are super premium and the grip is phenomenal. I took them on a damp day on a technical hike and was blown away with the grip. The overall fit was a little bit loose/wide through the midsection and the toe box. The overall length was perfect. However I do not regret my decision to buy.
For the longest time I have been on the hunt for a good home work boot. I own 2 acres with plenty of trees, vegetation and Michigan winters to deal with I wanted a solid leather boot that could stand up to working around the property in any sort of weather as well as the occasional hike with my kids. I tried Timberland and Vivo barefoot over the last two years. Timberland was too tight toward the front and the Vivo’s barefoot feature never felt right and was cold in the winter BUT I did like the little extra room for the toe box. I knew Keen’s offered a bit of extra room for toes and were more of a traditional boot like the Timberlands so I figured what the heck I would give them a shot.
These boots nailed it right out of the gate! Maybe they won’t last for hiking the AT or backpacking through Europe or something like that but if you want a leather boot that can take a decent beating and are perfect for 4 season Michigan weather working outdoors then I cannot recommend these enough. They are a great boot. I’m half tempted to buy a second pair for when I wear out the first ones.
These boots are comfortable and seem to be holding up well. I applied Hubbard’s Shoe Grease as soon as I got them, exchanged the cheap insoles for some Superfeet Green Insoles and put a pair of super tough Rhino Laces on em. They broke in with about 5 days of wear. I wear them daily for my job as a plumber. Lots of bending over, crawling and stepping in wet stuff (sometimes poo). These boots keep my feet dry and support my ankles. My feet do get tired after long days (10+ hours), but honestly I haven’t ever found a pair of boots that help with that. I have been wearing them about 60 days and haven’t noticed any delamination or funny wear spots. I never got any blisters and they are reasonably light for a pair of all leather boots. The Keen rubber toe is nice since I spend so much time on my knees and crawling, other boots wear thru at the top of the toe and that’s not an issue with these. Hopefully I can get a year out of these, I will try and remember to give an update when they finally wear out.
supportive of the ankles
Water proof for sure
low maintenance
But
bellow tongue causes bruising on left ankle bone after 8 miles (plaster to remedy)
Sole seems a bit thin towards the end of the day.
Super comfortable boots. Highly recommended. Spare laces included too. I’ll enjoy going out dancing wearing these boots!
At last a boot that doesn’t squash my toes. Seems well made, not too heavy. The tongue was uncomfortable for a few walks, but better now after about 40 miles. Overall a good boot for general wild walks, & quite comfortable on roads .
The sole would benefit from a little extra depth of tread & could be a fraction more protective from stones under foot. But I’m 16 stone & size 13, so probably just right for lighter people. Very good value & I am pleased overall.
I have wide feet and struggle to find comfortable boots so thought best to order a half size up as recommended by the manufacturer. Unfortunately the boots were to large and loose when they arrived and allowing for the normal slackening with time these boots would have just been asking for blisters caused by too much movement. I have returned them and waiting for my normal size to arrive. I did have my normal size delivered but they had signs of wear and were missing the red laces so I returned them. I did try them on and they appeared to be comfortable and had plenty of room. Also feel quite light for leather boots.
Excellent boot, comfortable with lots of room around the toe cap, great for broad feet. Very light, well made and look good.
Far too big, despite buying a half size larger as in description. Have returned and purchased my normal size. Boots look good and well waxed.
Seem to be very rugged and well made – comfortable from the off and no breaking in needed
Look good with the choice of laces supplied – dark brown or reddish
Hopefully will be long lasting – time will tell
