Don’t assemble at night in the rain on your own. It can be done but the instructions disolved and turned to mush. The on line instructions were a godsend but a bit small on my phone. It has turned out to be a very useful asset. Glad I bought it.
Not so easy to assemble but the instructions were quite clear. Some parts difficult to join together without a little persuasion! Once assembled, it is really sturdy
he part of frame to window was broken and also the man putting the shed together thought he was missing a part and latter discovered it was stuck with some other piece.
Great shed but did have a few minor issues with parts damaged during delivery..
Love this shed now it’s all together. Fiddly to put together. Came in 2 separate parts on different delivery days but otherwise fine. Ours is on shingle bed and we just made sure it was very flat underneath. Love this addition to the garden. Great calue
Good quality, needs a little thought and occasionally persuasion to fit together. Still unable to assess the weather-proofing. Instructions were OK. Bottom door bolt doesn’t engage correctly with the base but overall it seems a very good product.
1. as soon as it is delivered, check the box to ensure all parts are undamaged. (other people reviews)
2. the boxes are very heavy, so asked the delivery guys to put the boxes at the nearest point to the final location.
3. delivery service was good and on time.
4. it took me 6 hrs to assemble the shed (for the first 4hrs, I was alone, but to put the roof, you need to have at least one person to help you)
5. I bought it at a discount for 625, and after three months I think it really worth it. It is waterproof (even in heavy Scottish rains!). IF you assemble it correctly, it becomes very stable.
6. the only negative point is that shelve connectors are not strong enough for anything heavier than 4-5 kg. I added some heavy-duty shelves, and now it is a very good storage place for our stuff.
7. Provided instruction is good but not perfect.
Already had a smaller Keter shed and box, so it seemed natural to go for the bigger Keter. Instructions were okay, not as clear as the smaller shed. Construction was simple enough with two of us. You will certainly need a stable foundation as the floor is not robust and was not designed to be. The large thick screws, bike handle bar diameter, were excellent and held everything in place. You certainly need space all the way round during construction. Most of the construction was intuitive, but one or two spots were not obvious, but we soon got over them. Loved the height of the doors, no more bashing my head on the old shed! Without a doubt I would recommend this shed.
It is easy to assemble. I use it as storage. The quality and stability part is 75% of 100%
Package was very poor which result in some broken parts. Amazon costumer service were very friendly and helpful in helping with a replacent.
Shed itself is very good, if only keter would pack them up better…
Very please how amazon costumer service.
Great looking easy enough to assemble and so far has stayed dry inside all that and knowing that you don’t need to maintain it makes this a fantastic product.
We got one of these as a pool house to cover the pump, filter etc for an outdoor pool, and it’s been great. What was even better was the ability to cut out parts of the floor panel to fit over the installed equipment too.
It’s been waterproof since installation and doesn’t seem to attract insects/cobwebs like wooden sheds do, but it’s the maintenance-free aspect that does it for us – really pleased with it.
As others have said, it’s not the quickest to put together, but if you follow the instructions to the letter, you’ll be fine, but definitely best as a two person job even though the components are lightweight (though it is very sturdy once assembled).
Great shed with no maintenance, if offered to pay for assembly then pay it! Was sore on the fingers and took around 5hrs to build, but when done was really happy with i
Had this in a wish list for a while (along with a few others) as was having our garden completely re-landscaped. Luckily enough it went on sale just as the garden was finished so we snapped it up. Boxes were delivered a bit beaten up but you never know if that’s the delivery drivers fault and there was no damage to the shed at all. Was ok to build but you do need a 2nd person especially when it comes to doing the roof. Well pleased with it.
The product is well packaged and easy to unpack
Assembly instructions are clear and easy to follow
Slight misalignment of some parts means some brute force is required to complete assembly
Also some parts need flashing trimmed off prior to assembly a pallete knife is the best tool for this
But these are minor problems generally assembly by two people is easy
It is weatherproof we had heavy rainstorms two days after assembly and no sign of any leakage
Would certainly recommend i
This is a reasonable shed doors won’t close very well and I am worried that if the kids drop the bikes to hard to the wall it will brake
We bought the 8ft x 6ft so as to store our mobility scooters, and they fit ok, plus other bits. The shelves were handy. We had a solid base put in then my son and grandson came and erected it. Took just over four hours. They had lots of tools and power tools, they didn’t seem to have any problems. We are pleased with it.
This shed arrived in 2 huge boxes, and the fixings were included inside 2 smaller boxes, one everything was unpacked, it was checked off against the instructions, which everything was there, assembly really needs 2 people as you have to place the vertical panels in place and then you move around the shed until all 3 walls are in place, and only then do you place the roofing frames in place, it is only then the shed becomes ridged and strong. Until that point it feels really very flimsy.
Once all constructed it really is very strong, the components are really well moulded and snap in to place together. Please do read the instructions as there metal bars and tubes that need to be place before certain sections are joined together.
All in all I am very happy with it, I just hope that it lasts as for a long time, looks great in the garden.
I haven’t assembled it yet, but I can say it comes in two boxes … about 45in x 77in, then one is 8in thick, and the other is 12in.
One weighs 50kgs and the other 70kgs
Good looking shed, seems solid and robust. Assembled it by myself in about 4 hours.
Some of the plastic is warped, some parts slightly damaged, seems mainly due to packaging/transport issues rather than production quality.
Didn’t come with instructions. So had to look it up online. Not impressed with trying to find guides on Keter website – instead used on I found on Argos. Bit of a faff on having to come back into the house every 5 minutes for the next set of instructions.
This shed needs a REALLY flat surface, both for construction and afterwards (if you want the doors to close properly). My slabs are slightly uneven and even a few millimeters made things quite difficult.
Looks good once built and has plenty of very useable space – overall am pleased.
Arrived on time and intact. All parts were present. The person erecting the shed was very impressed with the quality of the materials and the “clever” way it fitted together. He found it much better than a metal shed. This is my second keter shed. The first one was left at my last house. I choose a Keter shed again for its excellent weather proofing and its lack of maintenance.
Arrived on time. 2 packages delivered. Both packages had loose tops. One shed corner panel damaged – split. See photo’s. i Don’t wish to send the whole shed back but i would like the corner panel replaced.
First time I bought a shed from Keter.
Felt rather pricey but was worth it in the end as amazing customer service from keter in replacing a couple faulty components.
Pros
Easy assembly 3h solo but would advise for 2 ppl as it’s quicker and safer
Most items and junctions are sturdy and of good quality
Zero maintenance
Good customer service
Cons
Some of the panel components did feel thin and flmisy but after assembly it was sufficently sturdy
Some parts might crack under high impact or force, after all it is plastic material
At the end of the day it’s a shed for storing tools and inexpensive items so can’t fault it. If you after something sturdier go for a log cabin but the price will be even steeper.
I found the shed easy to assemble as per instructions and took me around 3hrs.
The shed is of good quality but the security is a worry. Despite the doors having a locking mechanism the top and bottom of the door without the shoot bolts is very easy to pull open. It would take seconds to break in even with a decent lock and no tools. I have bought some mortise rack bolts to secure the top and bottom of the said door. I have also bought a security bar to prevent the doors just being yanked open.
Overall a good shed let down by really bad security features.
After waiting for over a year to purchase because of severe stock issues in all shops and the price when some stock arrived ( in some cases treble the price)I was very pleased with this shed and for the price paid. Two man assembly but very clear instructions and very well made with no defects to workmanship or parts. Assembled in two and half hours from opening the box. Delivery was brilliant (3 days) and drivers very helpful with regards to storing shed before being put together. Would definitely recommend.
I feel that there is too much molding growth. I had to do a lot of trimming with a Stanley knife. Some of the panels look to be a bit thin as the sunshine is bright in places on the reverse side of some panels. Not all of the “click” in pieces went in in a good way, had to use wood and a mallet to get them together. There is daylight at the bottom of some of the supporting uprights and you can see the rainwater. When this starts to fill will dust and dirt I can see that it will come into the shed. A lot of the reinforcement webs are wavy. The roof and sides do not appear to be “square”. The concept and design is good, I just think the manufacturing lets it down.
The shed itself, once assembled, is sturdy and well designed. The problems are in the assembly: the instructions in the booklet are misleading in places and the on-line video is much more useful. I think it is essential to assemble it on completely level ground as the slightest variation in the base will prevent all the other components from fitting properly, or at all. Some of the parts are not finished properly, so that they could never fit together as intended or instructed. You will need to drill out some of the pilot holes for screws as they cannot penetrate the plastic parts. An average height man and woman will struggle to do what two six-foot men might manage in a few hours. The final result is worth the effort.
Took my wife and I around 3-hours to build this with a couple of short breaks. No great difficulties as all the instructions were fairly straight forward. Plenty of room inside and looking forward to moving stuff out of our garage and getting back some needed space.
Packaging, was not great, by they time I received one box was open and some parts had scratched against each – I’d advise the company shrink wraps or equivalent.
The arrow drivers took in to my property which was appreciated and helpful. Amazon/Arrow did not manage to fulfil the original delivery date despite giving themselves a massive window.
I thought Amazon or Arrow were a bit sly. Arrow contacted me by email not through Amazon the day before the final delivery date estimate, asking to select a delivery date. Unsurprisingly the promised date was not available. Since there was no choice I accepted a delivery date two days later than originally promised. However, according to the delivery status, it was claimed that the customer requested a rescheduled delivery date – this was not true and irked me.
As for the construction, it went well – I wouldn’t advise trying this on anything but a still day (BBC weather was predicting <20 mph, and the gusts were still a problem, any more than that don't bother trying). Instructions are in general good. For me, the door metal trim assembly wasn't so clear, but I was getting a bit fed up by that point.
There are three vertical struts reinforced by metal bar for the side panel, these clip into the base. Clipping these in was a little tricky and the latch on the base is not strong, one of mine broke. If your base is not perfectly level you'll struggle latching these. The roof skylight had holes that were close to where you need to screw in from the underside (I thought this odd, you nearly have nothing to screw into).
The window clips in, one of the clips broke and I wouldn't say i applied much force, again not catastrophic to overall structural rigidity or watertightness.
I had a small downpour after assembly and didn't notice leaks, but time will tell.
Delighted with the shed, in the main, after a 12 week wait on backorder. Delivery and packaging were excellent and all parts were present and undamaged. I had already put down a plastic grid and shingle shed base and then assembled the shed on my own, dodging rain showers so it did span two half days. It has to be a lot easier with an assistant! I had to make do with a rubber mallet and some bungees.
In the useful (Polish) ‘how to’ clip on YouTube, the guys simply pressed the eaves ends in with their fingers. Unfortunately, I presume as the consequence of a rush to resume production after Lockdown, the quality and sharpness of the some of the mouldings was disappointingly poor and I had to spend a while cutting away all the swarf and then needed to use several adjustable clamps and a lot of washing up liquid to get them to join up and deliver the ‘clip’ as promised in the instructions! Similarly the centre door hinge holes and slots for the door hasp had to be cleaned out with a craft knife before assembly, which did add to the time.
My top tip – when putting up the wall parts, make sure the three centre verticals (part ‘CS’ with the galvanised strengtheners) have seated right down to the floor each time, or else you have a lot of fettling to do when trying to put on the spans (‘D81(1)’) above the assembled walls. I noted that in both the online videos I watched, they skipped over just how fiddly it is to fit those two bits; it is even fiddlier on your own.
In summary, a decent shed, not too hard to put together, and excellent value at Amazon/Argos prices.
Once I got the base in place this was mostly easy to assemble. However the roof is a pain and some of the other bits are fiddly. Now that it is up my main concern is that if I wanted to rob me, I would just take a knife to the plastic side/back panels. So it is definitely only for low value items.
Upon receiving unpacked and checked everything was there by sorting the items according to the assembly instructions. My first impression was that it appeared to be very flimsy but once assembly started I realised how sturdy it was. I was able to assemble it single handed and only required assistance when screwing the roof down.
Since assembly there has been a lot of high winds with gusts in excess of 50mph and the shed hasn’t moved or suffered damage.
The sky light provides plenty of light during the day but it would be nice to have the added option of an additional window and somewhere to fix a light.
Have a few Keter items. Usually very good. I’m reasonably happy with the shed, once it’s put together but there’s a couple of issues I have. Firstly the shed is advertised as 8×6. It mig might be 8 foot wide but it’s nowhere near 6 foot deep. It’s 5’8″ at the most . False advertising I feel . Secondly, done if the panels were difficult to put together. Out of shape or not actually formed properly. It took me a long time to cut pieces off do they would actually fit. Like I say, end product is good but not the usual excellent experience for me.
Does have a few issues:
1. The screws that hold the skylight in place are much too big. If you screw them in all the way through, the skylight comes off. So, they’re not much use there. They’re perfect for the roof, but make sure someone’s pushing down from above, otherwise you’ll just push the roof up when you screw them in.
2. There’s only one window. I thought there’d be 2 when I ordered it. Not a big deal, but there’s less light ingress than I expected.
3. There’s an extra metal rod. Long black one. It’s shown at the start of the manual as a roof piece, but when you do the roof, you find there’s no use for it.
4. The 4 small triangular black foam pieces that cushion the edges of the steel rods in the roof are way too big. They stick out, they bend the roof edges, and this lets water in. I cut mine down to half the size, and now the edges of the roof are straight.
When I first came across Keter sheds I absolutely loved the grey version they sold but unfortunately it did not come in this size or style. I finally decided to go for this design as I couldn’t find anything else quite like it and I am honestly so glad that we did pick this one.
It arrived within a few days and it arrived as two large boxes. These boxes are ridiculously heavy so I would make sure there is a couple of you to carry them to the required location as I couldn’t lift alone so I actually opened the boxes in the front garden and carry the items through individually to free up the driveway.
You probably could put this up alone if you are good at building things and enjoy it, but personally we felt it needed 2 of us.
Like other people have said you want to build the shed where you want it as once it is up it is heavy and not easy to move. If you have slabs for example you would risk scratching them by dragging it. It took 2 of us around 4 hours to put together.
The shed is everything I wanted from a shed and more.
– It is a really good size.
– It looks good.
– It feels secure.
– It is good quality.
The reason I haven’t given it a full 5 stars is because of the following couple of negatives –
1. When we recieved ours it came with a broken side, it was cracked at the top. We decided to put it up anyway and emailed them the same day. It did take Keter over 2 whole months to reply to us regarding the issue as they experienced some technical issues!
2. It only comes with 2 shelves. It definitely could do with a couple of more as they are really useful. It would be a good idea if they sold them separately.
Other than the above two I would still highly recommend this shed.
Some of our experiences might be of interest to others. We were given a firm delivery day by Amazon and we arranged to be at home but Arrow tried to deliver a day early when we were out. The shed had to go back to the Arrow depot and the delivery rescheduled. We now know that whilst Arrow are rather difficult to contact by telephone their on line tracking service using the tracking number that Amazon supply works superbly and had we known we would have spotted the actual delivery date. Our advice would be to keep an daily eye on the Arrow website regardless. The shed came in two boxes which we thought were just a little too heavy for the two man delivery team, as did they!
We managed to save some timber planks when carefully dismantling the old shed and together with some old fence posts we made a plinth for the shed to stand on and it does supply the solid base required although the shed is now standing a few inches higher than necessary. We reiterate the requirement that the base must be solid.
We are a husband and wife in our mid-seventies and we were well able to cope with the assembly although there were one or two demanding moments. There was nothing missing, indeed we were left with a long box girder section number FTH which is listed in the list of parts but we never did find out what it is for. There are times in the assembly when a part has to fit several other parts simultaneously and this can require patience–it seems to confirm the requirement that every part has to be fully and properly home to allow for the next action to take place. Often hand slaps were helpful and sometimes we did make use of a flat piece of wood and a small hammer to assist assembly. Obviously the hammer must not meet the plastic. The shed seemed a little flimsy whilst assembly took place but as things finally came together the overall strength became apparent and we were very impressed by the sheer cleverness of the design.
Once assembled we found that we needed more shelf space and, again using wood saved from the old shed, we were able to use the internal mouldings to support light duty shelving simply rested in place. This can be seen in the accompanying pictures.
We are concerned that the roof sections are black and heat up in direct sunlight resulting in the inside of the shed getting hotter than the provided ventilation panels can cope with. We propose to position a small solar powered fan on one of the ventilation panels to remove the hottest of the air at the top of the shed. We also wonder about painting the roof panels some colour other than black but we will wait and see on this.
This may seem a little eccentric but on days when the weather is not quite good enough for the full outside table, parasol and chairs experience we find it pleasing to sit with a beverage in the shelter of the shed with the double doors propped open and simply commune with nature.
Delivery was very good, arrived 3 days after ordering and the deliver drivers brought it round to the back of my property and were very courteous.
Update – shed now fully assembled by my son took couple of hours to do the main frame good around 2 hours, did the roof the next day and took a further 3 to 4 hours, this was the hardest part to fit, the screws were had to drive in as have to go through 3 layers of plastic but managed with the assistance of 2nd person holing a length of wood on the outside while screws driven in on inside, Looks really good, just got to sell the old wood shed the will push it into place (light enough to push with help of others) as long as you don’t have anything in it.
Instructions are very clear with pictures rather than words and makes it a lot easier,
Wel worth money especially as I purchased in Novermber while at a very discounted price
I came across a few minor problems. Some of the pieces were warped by pressure whilst stacked in the box. This meant wallls didn’t slot together as easy as they should of done. I found it easier to use pliers when tightening the large plastic screws. The front right screw which you drive in upwards was a pain & I am still to think of a way to get it tight. Slotting the roof into the sky light was my main problem. I had to worry my neighbour for a few minutes to get each side slotted in so I could bash it all home. I used clamps whilst driving screws in & drilled pilot holes. These pilot holes were probably OTT but I’ve had bad experiences when I haven’t bothered before.
I had to remove a few millimetres (3 mm by 20mm) of wall from each side of the rear triangle roof arch to slot it down & home.
Looks nice and is on a concrete pad, not sure if I’ll bolt it down or not ATM. Sheltered spot.
Most important is to take it all out the boxes if you plan on storing it so pieces don’t get further deformed. There’s a lot of give in the structure to be fair but the plastic gets white stress marks if too deformed.
Got it for the best price possible, November is always best. Delivery was great, arrow provide a top notch service. Roof drainage system is quite clever & sky light is a smart idea. Seems a bit wibbly wobbly when fitting it together but comes together nice and tight. Not sure I’d lean anything to heavy against the walls.
Make sure you adjust the holes on the light strip if they are not correctly aligned. Mine werent and it caused my roof to be a little wonky until I figured it out.
Had this for nearly 6 years now and it looks as good as the day I bought it. A little rust on the metal turn lock of the door. Sheds are much better than the furniture or storage boxes imo.
BUT ……. I am so pleased with the outcome of this shed, although I knew it would be good and I am replacing a smaller keter shed with this one. I went through the instructions and constructed all parts that could be done before erecting. My daughter and I started putting it together on Saturday afternoon but it took much longer than we imagined. It was too dark to finish but we were left with the roof to complete. The following morning it took a few hours to finally finish. I think in all it took about 7 hours to build.
Pros: It is a lovely shed and feels very safe and secure
Cons: Make sure you have plenty of time.
A decent set of tools, I didnt feel there is much depth to the screws that are supplied.
Would have been good if more holes were already made to where the screws went into – I used a braddle to make them but can be time consuming.
Officially this shed requires two man assembly – since roof fixing require holding it from the top while driving screws in from the bottom. However *it is* possible to assemble it without second person, and I can testify from my experience assembling it entirely by myself. I have used adjustable clamps like these to temporarily hold roof in place while screwing from inside. I have used tape measure to determine where screw goes from inside, then go outside, fix two clamps for two screws, go inside, drive screws, repeat until all roof is fixed. It takes quite more time than with second person, but not hard to do. Also I should mention that even with second person clamps will help a lot – because its really hard to hold bits down while massive screws being driven from below – there are no pre-drilled holes and screw will lift the roof sheets unless applying very firm pressure from above.
Packaging is not 100% perfect. Some bits apply pressure on other bits inside package. Which on the long term storage dents/bends/deforms the pieces. E.g. on unpacking my skylight piece had three bad dents on it where another panel laid on it. (esp. if they stack boxes on top in the warehouse). Some other pieces were deformed by pressure inside package too – and hence didn’t fit/align perfectly as they should. I have used heat gun with 190C temperature to soften the plastic and straighten it – otherwise it would have been sloppy and difficult fit.
A lot of flash on parts also makes assembly more difficult than it should. I recommend checking all parts and removing all flash with sharp Stanley knife before you fit them together.
Manual says “usual household tools are sufficient for assembly”. However this is true only if you consider angle screwdriver/angle driver an “usual household tool”. Because without angle driver you will have hell of a time trying to drive some screws which have a beam below (look photo) – barely enough space to place screw, and no space for screwdriver at all (and they have to be driven more or less straight). Also note while good torque electric screwdriver/power drill is not strictly required, its pretty much essential – because you will have to drive a lot (~100) of various screws, many without pre-drilled holes.
You certainly want a firm level base under the shed, and not just for easy of assembly. It has own floor, but the floor is not very rigid (is the same plastic). If there will be soft under-base, this will bend/dent/pit your shed floor if placing anything heavy on it – because it will sag. On the long run this will probably damage the panels and may compromise joints with wall panels (because they rely on floor panels not trying to move or sag).
Assembled empty shed weight is about 50-70kg, and its actually possible to move it on your own by pushing on corners near ground – at least as long as you have moderately smooth level surface under, like paving or concrete. This makes it convenient because you can assemble it having where there is space around (because you will *need* space all around, at least to place a stepladder). Then you can push assembled shed right next to walls/obstacles. I did it just by myself. But take note that exactly because its not very heavy, it pretty much *requires* anchoring to the ground – otherwise strong wind *can* shift it or flip it over (since walls have a lot of sail area against wind). Trust me, you don’t want that. Yet another reason you probably want solid base under – to anchor the shed to this base.
I would also like to comment on (lack of) security. Certainly, this shed is easy for the thief to get in. However, I am not aware of any wooden shed either which couldn’t be easily broken in by using simple pry-bar. In my opinion, trying to make a “shed which very hard to break in” is fruitless, that’s why its *shed* and will never have structural integrity for that (not unless you build it like a building).
If you are concerned about security – just buy an alarm in addition, for example like this wireless motion sensor , they are relatively inexpensive. This will actually give you real protection.
Even with some criticism above I’d say this shed is pretty good, esp. for the price and I would certainly recommend it.
It beats wooden shed on almost every point – the only downside that its less strong than (reasonably thick) wood. However, if you are competent DIYer its not that hard to add extra reinforcement/bracing inside – still will cost you fraction of wooden shed, and with no worries with wood moving/rotting/swelling or felt deteriorating, etc.
Ordered on Friday, arrived the next Monday! I laid it all out and found every item well marked. Instructions were those pictures-with-minimum-words type which were easy to follow (if you have assembled flat pack furniture you can assemble this). I did need a hand to screw the roof down (you need to have someone at the rear to press the roof-sheet down as you screw the self tapping screws into it from the inside. The instructions indicate a 70cm clearance around the back and side for this reason – you need to get to the roof to press it down.
The only issue I had was the roof spars. One of the roof-sheets had a metal spar already in one of the cells, but the other did not. there is no mention of it in the instruction. I had to take the roof-sheet off to fit the spar; I put it in a cell so that the screw from below would screw into the slit in the spar. Not a big issue, but coast me an extra 30 mins.
I started putting it together at 12 o’clock and had it finished by 16:45 ( with a 30 mins lunch break).
The wall and roof material is cell construction plastic and does the job. One slight bit of damage to the inside of one of the panels but nothing to warrant sending it back.
Very pleased with the shed. Looking to buy the Keter Maxi Storage box to complement it.
I bought this shed after buying a Keter Fusion Shed. The Fusion is fantastic, no installation problems and the quality is excellent. The Factor is very average compared to the Fusion. How a plastic shed can have so many components is beyond me. Also there are absolutely no text in the instructions, only graphics. The doors are ridiculous, plastic hinges with no adjustment . Saying that apart from the doors not fitting properly, a gap on one of the sides and 2 parts damaged (Keter kindly replaced them within a few days) the finished product is actually acceptable. Far better than a wooden shed and should last better. But Keter here is a suggestion… Design a plastic shed with 4 moulded sides a base and a roof and you are on to a winner. Leave sheds you design just now to Lego.
The shed goes together very easily and the instructions are very clear except for one bit where it appears to show the big vinyl screws being screwed down into the side wall attachments when they actually screw upwards . That was the only bit I got confused by for a few minutes. Once up it seems very sturdy and very spacious.
Oh, and an hour after we got the roof on we had very heavy rain and I went into the shed to find I could detect no leaks and all looked perfectly dry.
What a shame you can’t purchase extra shelves in the UK though!? A very strange decision as I’d have thought most people would want to buy extra shelves?
