his little kit is super fun! especially if you have a ton of floor space! my kids and i had some really intense racing around our house with this thing! the resolution is a little low, but its to be expected for the price point. setting it all up was easy enough for me but im really tech savvy. some parents may find it difficult. kit is very inclusive, battery life is decent and the cars are pretty fast!
I think the camera position would do wonders for this car. It’s not very fast and the angle is really low. If raised I think it would allow for a more enjoyable experience and the vehicle could be sped up without causing any negative experiences in motion sickness. I think that is why the speed is so low.
Brilliant. Great value for money. My son loves it. Works really well. Can clearly see through the brand. Made well and fairly easy
To set up
This remote control car with vr headset is so much fun and one of the coolest remote control cars I’ve seen. The controls are smooth and easy. The headset uses your phone and you connect to an app. It’s small (the car) but it goes well and has a good build quality. Headset adjust well for sizing. Very nice toy. A little expensive but fun. And with 2 to race for as fast as it is would be that much better!
This toy car looks great and it feels good quality and it’s sturdy (which is handy as it’s been driven into the wall a few times). We did find it quite fiddly to set everything up but once it was set up it was easy to use. The most interesting aspect of this car is that it comes with a headset that you can slot your phone into. We used it with our iPhone and it worked well. This allows you to get a driver’s seat view of the car’s journey. This car is a lot of fun but it’s obviously pricey. I think it will work best if you have large rooms or hallways.
This car has a nice remote and camera. Camera is easy to use with the app. I like just racing it around in the road or at my warehosue
This is a really cool R/C car. Quality is excellent – the car looks and drives great. The control is intuitive and the car is super responsive. The first person view is a very cool feature. Video quality is good. I’ve got a couple of entry level drones and video quality is on par with those. Will always be some connectivity issues with this type of product – the further you get the more likely to lose video for a second.
I have glasses, so I was a little hesitant about 3D goggles, but I was able to take my glasses off and use the headset and see just fine.
This little RC car was so much fun and so zippy! I charged it up and plugged in the battery, downloaded the app and paired it to the car, as instructed (it paired very easily), and then I was off! I didn’t have a problem racing the car through my house, other than the intense speed! I was frequently spinning 180 when I’d try to do a turn or shooting off beneath the couch (headlights would have been lovely!) but it was so much fun to drive this car around and see my house (and me!) from car-height. There’s also a way to change the goggles to use your phone camera, so you can see “through” them without needing to take them off, such as if you needed to rescue your stuck car.
The car did fine on hardwood and carpet, but it didn’t do so well on the transition between. If you didn’t hit a transition at full speed, you ran the risk of bottoming out and getting stuck. This happened a few times, but the see-through option for the goggles was enough to let me free it.
Things were a bit disorienting, such as seeing yourself through what felt like your own eyes, and I, prone to motion sickness, was feeling very queasy very quickly, but I was still having a great time with this car.
I was going to record some of the video for my review, but in driving it, I realized just how dusty my floors were and, uh, yeah. The world doesn’t need to see that. It was a LOT of fun, though!
Our son absolutely loves this and to be honest so do I! It’s pricey at close to 150 but there is a voucher currently taking it down to around 120. The technology in it is brilliant with the VR headset and the ability to live stream the action. The app for it was easy to download and set up on my iPhone. The build of everything seems really good quality and the car has had a few bumps along the way without any issues. It’s best suited indoors as outdoors was just a bit too bumpy and made for some interesting VR viewing! The only minor issue are some of the claims of running time and range – these seem a little high compared to what we got in reality but this is t enough to stop us giving this 5 stars!
I really like that this Kobotix REAL RACER – Remote Control Car with Camera — App Controlled comes with a phone app. In the time we live in, it makes it more realistic when the phone is involved, even when it comes to playing with a racing car.
After setting everything up, I experienced the real driving sensation when using this. The video camera provides HD images beamed from the car right to my smartphone for me to view via the included headset.
It has around 25 minutes of run time from a single charge, so that’s plenty for a good game.
I also like the fact that I can also record my race or live stream and share my fastest laps through the Real Racer App and all major streaming platforms.
I recommend this car.
This is an awesome RC car, though the car is a bit smaller than I expected, it works well on carpet or wood floors. The controls are smooth and easy, it goes pretty fast! I wish it were quieter for sneaking up on people but my cat loves chasing it! The VR headset is a cool idea to use on conjunction but it’s lots of fun without it. Anybody could enjoy this car!
This took me a few tries to get working correctly.
First, the vr goggles are nice! You need to calibrate them every use to see clearly. It uses your mobile phone for the screen so no batteries to charge on the goggles. Large phones may not fit.
I did have to put airplane mode on otherwise the screen lag was terrible I couldn’t use.
The car looks and feels like a plastic toy car but ultimately seems pretty rugged. The wheels are rubber tires but don’t always grip the surface so expect to drift alot. Can make it a challenge or fun depending on how you drive it. Battery life is ok and charging time is quick for the car. Remote uses 4AAA battery.
I’ve enjoyed reaching around the house but would definitely be a better time with a second one to race with although for the price point I think it’s a little expensive for what you get.
We had far more fun with this than anybody as a right to!
It’a a simple small (1/24 scale I believe) RC car with controller and VR headset. The VR headset is really just a holder for your cellphone. It all works together seamlessly to stream video from the car to the headset (phone), letting you feel like you are driving the car.
Everything worked flawlessly out of the box – I charged the small battery via the included USB charger, plugged 4 AAA batteries into the remote, and installed the app on my iPhone (QR code is included on the bottom of the car). Then you just launch the app and power everything up. The app even has a non-VR mode if you just want to drive without the VR headset. And for that matter you don’t need the app at all if you just want to use it like a regular RC car.
The car isn’t especially fast, but it is big enough and stable enough to run across carpet and over room thresholds.
Only two minor points worth mentioning. First, the “jumbo” cellphones these days *barely* fit in the VR headset. I actually had to take my iPhone 14 Pro Max out of its case in order to get it into the headset. And second, the video feed does a lot better in bright rooms, so turn on the lights everywhere you plan to drive.
Overall, this is a fantastic little toy – this will get pulled out and played with whenever the cousins & friends come to visit! 5 stars without a doubt!
This remote control car is great fun. Driving it using the camera gives you a different perspective that makes you feel you are actually driving it.
My OH and brothers have had great fun playing with this as, under supervision, have my older nephews. In the box you get — the car; its controller; a rechargeable battery pack to power the car; a headset to hold a mobile phone for FPV app use; a USB charger; an instruction manual; a screwdriver to open and close the battery compartment on the car itself, and a microfibre cleaning cloth.
Before first use, the wheel for the controller needed to be attached, and the battery pack installed. The controller requires 4 AAA batteries, inevitably not included, to provide a power source.
As a remote control car, this is good to use. The car has glossy plastic body work and individual suspension on the wheels. The controller is sensitive and responds well in use. The car does well over carpet, hard flooring, and short cut grass, but not so well over our gravel drive. The camera, to give a driver’s eye view of the car’s journey, is built on to the middle of the roof.
The visor is well-made and comfortable. This has adjustable straps with clip fastenings and is nicely padded around the eye area, with faux leather covering over the padding. There are two viewing lenses and control dials on either side to adjust focal length. A dial on the top of the visor adjusts the distance between the viewing lenses. There is a release button to open the front panel to allow a mobile phone to be added.
My phone — an iPhone SE — fits inside the visor with a bit of space to spare. I’m not thrilled about the excess space — I noticed that several of the people who have been using this move about a quite a bit in line with what’s going on on the display and I was a bit worried that this was going to dislodge the phone from the thin plastic bar holder at the middle and make it slip about. This could do with some kind of adjustable frame so that it can fit different sizes of phone well.
I get motion sick and don’t get on hugely well with this kind of VR, but my OH and brothers have really enjoyed playing with this.
The camera is pretty good. Its recordings are clear and easily visible. We’ve had some vehicles with disappointing inbuilt cameras, where the recordings are murky and hard to see — this one has decent quality video. Records video to a micro SD card, which goes under the bodywork for the card (and needs unscrewing to access this).
I accept that this is going to be an expensive gift (150) in these austerity driven days but truly this is an awesome idea and something I would have literally killed for as a kid.
Firstly, the car looks good anyway and the cool red colour was a good choice, the surprise was that the car has four-wheel drive and suspension along with the gyro.
It easily managed all over the house and the camera quality is shockingly good and makes for some fun and unusual views although we will not be taking it outside again here as the constant shuddering almost made us all ill.
The VR headset takes a little getting used too but honestly the experience is nothing like I have ever been through before and was what made this so enjoyable.
it does need a completely flat surface as such as it copes with carpets and grass but not on incredibly bumpy surfaces, the car copes but the camera footage almost gives me the same feeling vertigo does, but we are very keen on the skateboarding park as the surfaces there are going to be awesome.
The 25 minute drive time claim had me a little dubious but amazingly it has gone for over that a few times now.
This is a one hundred percent recommended toy from me and whoever gets this as a gift be they adult or child will be really very happy indeed.
I don’t know where to start.. the quality of the camera is amazing and what I liked the most is that in a very easy way, I can record and save the content, it comes with an extra battery that guarantees more fun time, VR and very cool, for sure it fits most phones, the quality of the car is very good and very resistant, a great gift for any situation, I highly recommend it!
This VR remote control car comes very professionally packaged, and the build quality feels very good. The car is strong and sturdy, and has survived quite a few impacts! It’s easy to use the controls and the proper steering feels great, and it’s impressive that this little car has things like gyro and suspension
However, the main selling point for this car is the VR and camera capability. We found this to be difficult to use as the car doesn’t have 100ft of range, it was only 15ft. We tested it inside and outside just in case the walls were impacting the signal, and we made sure to have nothing on that has the same frequency, yet we just couldn’t get it to go further than 15ft without the car losing signal with the remote
This was disappointing, and made the camera a little bit redundant because the car couldn’t go very far away from us. We were hoping to be able to drive it all over the house, go into different rooms, and because of how quickly the signal gets lost we can’t get the car up to its top speed
The VR headset is a great idea, but actually made us feel a little bit ill whilst using it. The car has a low ground clearance level and going over the slightest bump feels very jarring on the headset, it was much easier just to watch the camera through the phone
The app was easy to download, a little bit fiddly to connect the car each time. It would be good if it auto-connects. The app has lots of features which is great, we did find that changing the filters on the app makes the car lose connection with the remote
Overall, because of the main issue with the car losing connectivity with the remote in only 15ft we can’t say it’s good value for money. We really love the concept, but some changes like improving the range, lights on the car, a microphone because the video and livestream recorded is silent would make it match up to the price poi
The Kobotox Real Racer is the coolest toy I have ever had the pleasure of using. The camera image is great, with no lagging. It can be recorded direct to a memory chip or livestreamed. The headset is very adjustable for size. It is comfortable even for my extra large cranium. The car is 4 wheel drive, has suspension and a gyro for extra stability. It drives very smoothly an all indoor surfaces. It can cope with rougher outdoor surfaces, but the bumpy camera view outdoors, is not something that I would put up with for long.
The car matches the claimed 25 minutes drive time, before recharging. A screwdriver (provided) is needed to access the battery. The hand control is comfortable, and well organised. I cannot fault the clarity of the manual or the software.
Excellent Remote Control Car with Camera, I love the packaging very professional, easy to setup, the car is relatively small, however it is good so can be driven indoor perfectly, the head set is easy to use, looks very stylish comfortable to wear and made of a great quality.
the head set was holding my phone iPhone 10 perfectly and fit with no issues.
the remote control is absolutely perfectly made and designed, it can even record or take pictures easily.
the camera mounted on the car shows a good. Quality images.
very satisfied, considering it’s expensive Remote Control Car with Camera, but still worth it.
This car is great fun, and the innovative design of using an app to control the car is superb, but the rechargeable battery pack didn’t come with this, so we cannot use it.
Update: battery pack is in the car, I’ve got a 8 month old do I’m sleep deprived…lol
My son aged 9 loves this car, it’s been a joy to watch him play and have fun. He especially loves the headset, where you connect the cars camera to a phone via an app, he’s says it’s like racing a car for real.
When I first got this car I was integrated to find out if it was any good considering I’ve never seen a remote control car like it before. The car maybe small but it’s definitely mighty and jurable, it can go nice and slow or you can turn the speed up and it will go very fast. I think the car having some sort of head lights would of made it that much better but that’s just me being picky. The car states that it will do 25 minutes drive time. I’ve not timed it but I’d say it was longer than 25 minutes which I was shocked about because we all know if they normally say 25 minutes it means 15 minutes max.
The head set is build very well with good quality parts and is comfortable to wear and easy to adjust when someone else has a go. The phone compartment is secure and I’ve tried both iPhone and Samsung in it and they both fit lovely inside. You can tell they have spent some time and effort in making the headset.
To use the car and all its features you will need to download the app and follow the clear instructions which is easy to do. On the app you can customise your driving style, view any photos or videos you have taken along with many other things. To take a photo or video it couldn’t be easier because there’s a button on the remote control that takes a photo and again a button that starts and stops video recording. I know you can stream straight to most social media platforms but I haven’t tried this yet although I’m sure it would be good because the camera quality is surprising really good and clear.
The only negative thing I can really say about this car is i now have to listen to the kids moan for 75 minutes that they want to play with it while it’s charging.
