Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersSick little light besides the fact it burnt out after two runs not years so a few months really, shame because a mate bought the same light with a different diode set up which means I got a faulty one, but I received rest help from Sean a koscheal, I would recommend these lights with a warning they might not last long but can squeeze out a fair fruiting for the price.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI have previously used a similar unit, calling itself 600W. (The wattage rating is a bit misleading, but that seems to be standard with these things.) This new 2000W unit is indeed considerably brighter, and it runs a bit warmer. The difference was noticeable right away, with more and faster growth. Very happy so far (5 days after delivery).

The light is not working properly, the veg works but no bloom when I switch it on. The last one I got exactly the same works perfectly. The damage is probably due to it being handled roughly & probably thrown in and out of vans I am angry to say the least and will be calling you tomorrow.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersGave the lamps 5 stars even though the developed faults after 6 months. The fault being that a 1/4 of blue lamps in the same quadrant failed to illuminate on both lamps.

Up to that point they had produced an excellent crop with no hassle at all and for that reason I would have given them a five star rating on that alone.

It may have been a coincidence that both lamps produced an identical fault or it may have been down to a component failure in the driver circuitry but you can’t always blame the manufacturer. It could be down to it being a bad batch of devices that a sub-contractor has supplied.
The fact that kocheal offer a 3 year warranty makes me believe it was probably the latter.

Having contacted the company through amazon and advising them of my problem, the customer service representative could not have been more helpful, and I received 2 off replacement lamps. The timescale between reporting the problem and replacement lamps arriving was Wednesday evening to Tuesday the following week.

If the star rating was any higher I would have no hesitation in selecting it due the prompt customer service (from Sean).

    Thanks

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI bought two of these, the first one doesn’t make any fan noise – fan never runs, the second I bought, the fan is on all the time. Otherwise, they both work perfectly fine. Would buy again.

Well designed and constructed unit comes with an adjustable hanging system.
It effectively covers an area off approximately 90x90cm.

I don’t write reviews often but this review is due to the customer service I received. I bought and received this product within a few working day (very quick and efficient) but unfortunately one of the fans on this was not working. I got in contact with the customer service team and got a response almost instantly and a replacement was sent out to me within 3 working days! Definitely impressed. The product is great and produces minimal heat and is very energy efficient! I will definitely be ordering again from these!

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI personally think the 600w from same manufacturers works better than the 1200. I’m ordering an other 600 w.

Doesn't come with lead for daisy chain. Only downside

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI’m surprised at the quality. I was expecting something cheaply made but I’m impressed!

It’s brighter than I expected and has decent light penetration. The fans are about as loud as a desktop computer and seem to dissipate the heat well. The 600w is small and compact and is perfect for a closet grow. I wouldn’t recommend for more than 2 plants at a time due to how small the light is.

As for the end results, we’ll have to see. But so far so good.

Golden Review Award: 56 From Our UsersFirst off, lets bust some myths being touted here…

    1. It is a 2000w EQUIVALENT lamp – meaning by using its 200 odd watts, it is producing the same amount of light as standard bulb drawing 2000 watts (which for those lamps means that 1800 watts of heat is being pumped out – so its more of a heater than a light, whereas this is a light). When an HPS light goes out, the temperature in a grow tent will plummet, due to the loss of all that heat. An HPS by the way is more efficient than a standard bulb but only by a few percentage points, so still the majortity of your electricity is being radiated as heat not light.

    2. As far as your plant is concerned it is FULL spectrum – it provides all the useable light the plant needs, the stuff a plant cant use in ‘daylight’ goes to waste – this type of light is not wasteful in that respect.

    3. The important thing about light intensity is lumens – this is not quite the 24000 of full sunlight, but its a lot better than most bulbs and importantly its all in the spectrum areas plants require for photosynthesis, so no wastage. So no one here is lying about ratings or wattage or anything to do with the equivalency of the light – it is just that EQUIVALENT.

So I am using this to light an area 120 x 60 and it is providing ‘daylight’ light levels equivalent to the midsummer in the tropics over that area. My seedlings react by growing exactly as they would in the wild, sturdily and quickly. I have chillis up in 4 days, cactus in 3 and some succulents inside 36 hours – none are showing stress, none are getting ‘leggy’. No sure if I will use it to grow a crop to maturity, though I feel sure it would easily do this, but for me this is more to do with available space and the fact that I will grow stuff on in a conventional greenhouse afterwards. This allows me to start early for long season crops in a dark garage with little more than this light, a grow tent and some bottom heat.

So for its cost (about the same as an HPS with a ballast and gear) it is using 20% of the electricty – requires none of the ventilation (which just blows out the heat into a cold void, rather than being able to seal it in with the plants and lights up and extinguishes instantly on my timer. All in all excellent value for the price.

Golden Review Award: 120 From Our UsersNot used it above any veg yet, still to set everything up for growing microgreens and veg through the winter, but I have done some electrical tests.

There is a big issue with all LED lighting on Amazon and eBay is where sellers are claiming ludicrous wattage which bears no resemblance to the truth. The ONLY figure that makes any sense is the ACTUAL wattage of the light, this light claims to be equivalent to a 2000w ‘normal’ light which is a load of old dross and claims to be 200w actual current draw which is the figure I have been looking at to compare it to other lights available.

There are several lights available that claim to be 2000w equivalent, and list an actual wattage of 100w, there are 4000w equivalents that also list the actual wattage as 100w, I have seen one that is 2000w equivalent and the actual draw is listed as 65w.

So there is a great deal of lying about the equivalent light power out there and this one is no different, but as I said there is no point in even considering the equivalent to wattage anyway, it is just a marketing ploy, but the bigger problem is that there are manufacturers/ sellers that not only lie about that but lie about the actual wattage which is the only real comparison.

If a light claims to be 100w actual power turns out to be 50w in reality it is only half the power it should be! a blatant rippoff.

All that said, I am please to report that this light actually draws 232W, which is above the claimed actual wattage of 215w, that is very good 😉

For interest, on Veg or bloom only the power consumed is 117w, so half the power and cost..

I have also done a quick Lux test, outside in daylight without direct sun the reading was 800 to 1000 Lux, in the direct setting sun it was 24000 Lux. At a distance of 36″ the LED light gave 4500 Lux, and at a distance of 12 inches it was about 25000 Lux, this was just using a Lux meter app on my Galaxy S6 so accuracy is questionable but the comparison to the light outside is valid.

The light build is solid, it feels light you have some value in hand, the light is extremely intense so don’t be tempted to eyeball it like I did otherwise you won’t be able to see straight for about half an hour!

When I get my Microgreens trays etc set up I will update this review to include actual growing results but I am fairly confident it will be all good.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersAmazing to see that, despite the external weather and the lack of seasonal light, my Calabrian pepper plants are not absolutely affected by the lack of sunlight and heat thanks to this lamp. The option for germination and growth is fantastic and allows this process which is fundamental for a healthy and balanced plant development to take place concretely.
The light spectrum can cover a space of 2×2 meters. Recommended for those who want to enlarge their crops as it can be modulated to enlarge the cultivation space.
