My 2.5year old loves this. The app is great and works well. The games are fun and easy to do with my little one.
Grand children loved this, especially the coloured inlays. Hours of fun and easily added to.

Quality expected from duplo. Works well with the app, although the app is not downloadable for age restricted Amazon tablets so needs to be used on a phone or iPad
Purchased for one o the grandchildren … Same high quality, sturdy toy but now has batteries . Action blocks can be moved anywhere around the track …. reversing, train noises and so on.
You can see them working out how to build different track plans which i think is really good for them.
Plus you can buy add on’s !
As with all Duplo this is excellent quality and designed to last. Designed with great care and thought.
I bought this for my son’s 3rd birthday and he absolutely loves it. So simple to set up and get going with.
The action tiles you can place on the track are an excellent idea to add a bit of variety and to teach basic programming concepts.
Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Bought for my two year old and a lot of the features are for a older child but it’s a great train to play with just now and it will grow with him in the following years

Bought this train for my soon to be 4 year old nephew. To say he loves this train is an understatement. Tracks are so easy for him to connect & so sturdy when he dumps them out on the floor. The colour sticks that come with it are absolutely brilliant. His little face watching the train drive over the sticks and watch what happens is priceless. Simply place the sticks anywhere in the tracks to experience the fun. One stick makes the train give a choo-choo sound, one makes the train’s lights come on, one makes it stop & the last makes it reverse. In addition, I’ve since purchased two additional boxes of Duplo to include a bridge & a switch for the tracks to make the train go in a different direction. This is an incredible learning toy. Well done, Duplo!
My 3 year old granddaughter loves this. The train doesn’t just go round and round the track. Special bricks you can incorporate into the track cause the engine to hoot, make taking on water sounds, reverse etc.
Nice station and characters too.
My nephew loved this train! With a little push it goes along by itself. It was so hard to find a Duplo train to do this, and love that I found this one
Great kit 2yr old and 5 ye old love it. App is nice add on as can remotely control the train and sounds. Push start and stop is great to kids won’t damage the motor.
Great product for younger children who likes trains. Sturdy build quality as usual from Lego which is reflected in the price. Still on first set of batteries, not sure how power hungry.
Our son (who is 16 months) really loves it. He wasn’t able to assemble it by himself as obviously too small, but he loves playing with the train and putting figurines of the squirrel and a girl in to the coach as the passengers. Will buy extra sets to extend the railway.
Now daughter is one, she loves it. Watches it and puts the characters and bricks in and out of the train as it passes her. The train is easy to push start, and stops easily if our daughter blocks it. Train stops to refills on the blue and goes into reverse on the green brick which makes it more exciting than just watching it go round in circles.
Only issue is the yellow action brick does not do anything. Possibly our batteries are a cheap brand so not powerful enough?
Also purchased the town train track expansion pack to make the track a bit longer, was not really necessary as we dont use the red action bricks at the moment or the ‘dead end’ parts of the track. Usually just make one big loop, however the extra pieces mean we can sit our daughter in the middle and the track is big enough to go right round he
The fact that the two year old doesn’t need to push the train, the additional coloured pieces that activate from in the track- stop, lights,change direction etc; and the cat and squirrel which were very popular!
This is probably the toy purchase I am most happy about. My son loves it and always wants to play with it.
he is 4 years old and he loves trains. Here are the features that me as parent love about this toy:
– Tracks are easy to assemble
– Inter connectivity with other Lego Duplo
– The special action bricks which kids can put on the track
– the app connectivity to control the train
I only wish you could more easily (and cheaply) buy the spare tracks and other trains and cabins to extend the rail way set.
Great train set! Very simple to use and put together. You can buy expansion sets and it all works with other duplo. The set has quite a few bits of track but we plan to purchase expansion packs
I’ve loved Lego and Duplo all my life and I bought this for my kids. The train is “smart” and can make noises, stop, reverse with the help of switches you put on the tracks (provided). My kids love it and I love (I almost love it a bit more than my kids, but hey 🙂 – only downside is that Lego and Duplo are quite expensive these days.
I bought this with my two year old granddaughter in mind.
She is a very bright child and was putting the track together more or less straight out of the box.
The only criticism I have is that there is a severe shortage of track.
Not got a bigger room, use less track but if there is space, the supplied track is simply too small.
The intelligent instruction bars are good although some of them are the next best thing to pointless.
The train needs batteries, none are supplied which is a shame but at least they are a common thus easily obtained size.
Using hand pressure is stfficient to push start the train.
Assembly of the train, track and accessories was very easy and the child did so having been shown just the once.
I got extra track elsewhere
Overall, quite expensive with too little track but it will give a lot of pleasant play time for kids to about five years old
This is a nice little set, the train is great fun for kids. My only gripe is that it is quite pricey and it would have been nice to get more track with it for the money.
Down sides, the small green on and off button got jammed in on Christmas morning. He was so excited turning the train on and off as it makes a little beep so you know it’s powered up, that he pressed harder and harder until it took five minutes with tweezers to prise it back out so gentle fingers on the button. The other negative is that the track is very small. Clearly all the cost (and it’s not a cheap toy) is spent on the train. There is enough to make an average sized oval but that’s that so the novelty can wear off if your games aren’t inventive.
We have added the bridges and points packs to it tripling the cost but at least giving a reasonable size set with some good track options.
Outstanding quality from Lego as always. This toy is soo much fun my friends think I spend low time using it than our daughter ! The addition of the buttons and the app make this a real one for 2018! Lego keeping up with technology in a fun way
