My goddaughter loved this and it is giving hours of fun. The price was much cheaper than High Street stores so it fit perfectly within the budge
Lots to put together, instructions are easy to follow but kept my daughter (11) very busy and she loved building i
En un set de lego muy entrtenidor, con muchas bolsas de piezas y detalles bonitos. mi hija no para de jugar. ademas lo he conseguido por un buen precio en oferta.
All the details are precise. Any is not lost considering the amount of it. Original things and changeable scenarios won’t be boring by playing for a long time. Even for the adults, the collection process will be interesting. And the most important are the emotions of a child of such amazing gift. The price is not small but LEGO quality worth I guess.
This set was bought for the kids and is one they saved up for. It come up with a good reduction in price and so they bought it and have had a good time playing with it. The set also looks good on the shelf as well and you can customise the time of the year it is with some cosmetic features being changeable to show winter of autumn or summer which, while a nice feature, just adds a lot of little extra bits that get lost around the house until I stand on them. You only get four Lego dolls which isn’t much for a 90 set and I would have liked a pianist to go with the great piano (a fantastic mini build that I love).
The front looks good and the revolving doors are great. Inside you get three bedrooms, a lounge for the piano and a reception. The floor space is good for playing as well as there is space to put the dolls, there are also lots of doors to open which is always exciting.
The set comes with several woodland creatures and a dog so you do get some of those nice animal pieces.
Durability is high: during several play sessions I wasn’t having to rebuild the hotel much. The little extra even hold up quite well to play, at least in the play session my kids have. The flags do keep coming off though but they are decorative anyway.
Playability is high: the children loved it. They could play hotels (as intended) or could just use it as a generic building as well. The only play features are doors but the revolving door is fun.
Affordability is low: at full price there any better sets to get (As I’ve said before, Ninjago is often well priced) but it regularly comes down in price and I got it for around 50 (a much more suitable price). Even for Lego it seems quite high, but it is quite a large set.
Displayability is high: it looks good and is relatively thin compared to other bigger Friends sets. The floor space is pretty much a rectangle which means it is easier to display on a shared shelf; the fact it looks nice helps with this.
Buildability is medium: some fun builds a and I liked building the rotating doors but nothing too fancy or interesting. It isn’t particularly difficult to build but it is big and so younger children may grow bored. There are some fiddly bits as well but nothing too bad.
Overall: I like it and the kids like it. I like the piano build and think the keyboard brick is great. I like the brick colour (especially the roof) and love the Dr Strange like circular windows (in fact the roof is my favourite part of the build). The kids really enjoyed it and it didn’t keep falling apart meaning I didn’t have to keep rebuilding it. If you can find it at a reduction then I think it is an ok set to get – not an essential set but one to pick up if you like the Friends line or like the look of it.
Hours of fun putting this together with my 10 year old. It’s smaller than you imagine, but still a great set with lots of playability.
C’tait une bonne ide de cadeau de Nol, ma fille tait trs contente en ouvrant son paquet, elle qui adore les Legos.
Aussi, la livraison tait rapide.
Je le recommande viveme
Great value with the money off voucher when bought cheaper then Argos Lego.com etc
A lovely large set that’s a great display mode but also really playable. It’s great fun to build as lots of little project soon amount to one big set. There are aspects which change the outlook of the building depending on the seasons which is great for imaginative play
Great set with loads of accessories that not only is good to build but looks fantastic when done and provides hours of play for the young ones here.
Says 8+ but does need some adult support for those less patient or unsure.
Good value Lego, colourful and stable when done.
My Daughter has the older hotel version of this set but I have to say that this newer version is much nicer as for example the older version had a taxi that we never thought really fitted in and as much as we liked the lift it is better having actual play space in the build if that makes sense.
The set is similar to the older version and includes a buildable piano just like the old version but I like that this one has concentrated on being more realistic and offering more than two bedrooms like the older one had by using the wasted lift space.
The set has 1308 pieces and includes 4 mini dolls; Ameila, River, Stephanie and Emma. It also has some cute animals; a bunny, poodle and squirrel.
One of the things I love about the set is that it includes accessories to change the seasons from summer to either Autumn or Winter and I think that this was a lovely idea to add even more play value as the guests could be staying for Christmas for example.
This Lego friends grand hotel resort is great! My kids is a fan of Lego and this is a nice addition with their collection. Really lovely! Cant complain with the price because quality is good! Good value for money
This set comes with an age rating of 8+ which we would say is about right. Our almost 8yr old managed to build this set with very minimal support. Our favourite things about this build are the revolving door into the hotel – fabulous! The hot tub was a firm favourite – amazing! in our 7yr olds opinion. He loved how the small outside garden area comes with the pieces to customise it to different seasons – winter, spring/summer or autumn. He loved this. The hotel has 3 floors and includes bedrooms, en-suites, terraces (dinning area and hot tub), a lounge/music room and a reception. It’s designed in pinks, whites, lilacs and dark blues and the colour scheme works really well and looks majestic. It comes with 4 friends style minifigs and a poodle. Whilst we’re not fans of the lego friends minifig style, prefering traditional mminifigs there are boys and girls included and we did like how you can attach glasses onto the hair with a small hole in it to accessorise – you can even do it with the dog! Not so keen on the look of the hair with the hole in it when you aren’t using accessories.
Things we found problematic were that sometimes the instructions could be a little less than clear for our child to follow independently (fine for an adult or supported.) Occasionally during the build bits were less than stable and easily fell down as you tried to attach them. The final build is very stable though.
We love the finished product and feel this is a good addition to the Lego friends collection, we do feel they could branch out a bit with their colour scheme as they are all very same-y (pink, purple, teal, lemon colours.)
This is probably the largest set me and my daughter have completed together with over 1300 parts and building with a 4year old it took quite awhile but she absolutely loved making her own ‘dolls house’ . The blocks are a reasonable size for her age, not too small but just enough to make her focus and really grasp the hand eye coordination of building. First of all we build the hotel resort which even i was impressed with but in true toddler style she smashed it apart in about an hour and just started building her own thing, which is great for imagination play but for this reason I can see why its aimed at older children. All the little characters and accessories are very nice, and have cute small detailing on the. Im going to attempt to rebuild the hotel again but with lost instructions i might struggle so its key to keep them safe. I think value for money its actually quite reasonable for this set as its quite large and as its lego you know its good quality.
There are a lot of pieces here and so although it;s not exactly a quick build it;s still fairly easy if you do it properly together and take your time and follow the easy step by step instructions. Really love the colours and the clever design means you have quite a lot of space/aspects to play with once done especially s there’s a good amount of figures and some really cute little extras to interact with. I think overall for lego and for the size of it this is great value so would recommend.
Often with Lego, big sets = more complicated. Not so with this one. Despite being a really big set, it’s easy for younger children to do most, if not all, of it themselves without adult help. This gave my youngest daughter a great sense of achievement as she progressed and ultimately completed it.
There are tons of product photos showing you the various details – it’s a great set to play with. My only small gripe is that for such a big set it is a little mean to only include 4 figures. I wish Lego included more as a hotel needs more than 4 people involved! I’d knock half a star of for this if I could. Other than the number of figures, the set has plenty to encourage small world play or, in my daughter’s case, it simply looks fantastic on her sideboard as she likes to ‘display’ her Lego models generally rather than play with them.
Of course, Lego is great quality and extremely durable. So although it’s not cheap, it’s an investment that will last generations.
My daughter loves LEGO so this was a nice surprise for her , I was “scared ” by the number of pieces this LEGO has ( around 1300) but then when we started to put the lego together was actually easy to follow the instructions from the manual , step by step. The grand hotel looks like a 4 season hotel with lots of figures and accessories. My little girl was very excited to build it up with our support of course and once finished she really enjoyed to play with , her favorite part from the set is the ground floor with the open doors and the piano . The quality is very good, bright and appealing colors, good level of details and lots of fun . Definitely recommend!!
Over 1300 pieces! Thankfully the instructions are really clear and easy to follow. Every thing is bagged and labelled really well. Building these sets with my daughters have always been super fun and are an easy way to fill the hours.
My daughter has a few Lego friends set and this is definitely the centre pice of the ones she owns. There are plenty of moving parts and rooms to play with. The additions of season elements are fun and can add a little change to the scenery. Or, like my kid did, just through everything into the mix to create something odd!
I actually got this for myself (age 42 and this is my first Lego set!) and I really enjoyed builidng this. It makes quite a big house; as you’d expect with lego it comes with concise instructions to build bit by bit.
It would be too complicated for my eldest (age 7 and not an expert lego builder) and he certainly wouldnt be able to focus for the length of time required (not that this set particularly interests him anyway).
It’s not cheap – would I spent the best part of 80 on a lego set? Unlikely. But I do know there are people who really enjoy their lego building.
I really love this build it has so many features and a really great twist, The idea behind this Lego set is a hotel that changes it’s look with different seasons, it comes with additional Lego themes that you add to the exterior of the main build to change its appearance. For example winter consists of white and ice blue add on bricks along with a snowman and a sled. Autumn adds oranges and reds to the build along with pumpkins.
I thought this was a really fun feature which I can imagine as a child I would have really enjoyed. Looking at the build from the back it looks very much like a dolls house with lots of details one of my favourites being the piano downstairs.
This build comes with four characters and several animal figures. I really think this set is great value with lots of play ability.
Wow! Wow! Wow! That was my overwhelming sense when receiving and opening this with my daughter. With Lego you’d always expect attention to detail and good quality that will stand the test of time (assuming you don’t lose any pieces), and this Friends Grand Hotel Resort doesn’t fail to impress!
Containing 8 separate bags of Lego (1308 pieces all in all) this large box is themed around a 3-storey hotel and the accompanying 4 seasons. Although targeted are 8 months to 8 years, I would avoid the youngest children — the chance of putting small pieces into a mouth is far too great. Having said that, even the older age group may need some assistance with piecing this together — it does come with great instructions, which is a double bonus as this appeals to the logical developmental side of children, as well as the emotive pictorial end game that so you know what you have to aim for. It still took over 4 hours (over 2-3 days) to put this together, with my daughter
There is plenty of attention to detail as you’d expect from Lego; the revolving doors, the hot tub, the piano bar, and complementing this the 4 characters and accoutrements for the Sprint, Summer, Autumn and Winter settings.
I can only echo other reviewers’ comments, that it is a wonderful Lego set, and at around 80 it seems a lot, but probably worth every penny. You can easily offset this with the joy of opening, the excited build phase and the tremendous scope for creative play kids (and adults!) will have with this.
Friends give the perfect scale play toys for children and once made up stays up for endless play and adventure-Most of the sets can interconnect with all child figures nd build a large play area of activity for hours-the detail is marvelous and is appreciated.
My daughter and her group of friends are obsessed with Lego Friends so she was thrilled with this Grand Hotel set.
The Grand Hotel resort is themed around the seasons – Spring & Summer, Autumn and Winter. The Grand Hotel is set over 3 floors, comprising of 5 rooms, an attic and a lobby. The ground floor of the hotel features a fabulous revolving door.
There are more than 1,000. Luckily you get precise instructions but it takes a good deal of patience. There are 8 separate bags of Lego. Everything is grouped together and the manual takes you through it step by step. This is a big build and it is great when finished.
Not suitable for small children.
This is a Grand Hotel and should provide hours of fun, but it does cost 80.
Bought for a birthday present. My granddaughter loved it and completed it very quickly.
This LEGO Friends Heartlake City Grand Hotel set has a huge 1308 pieces. It features 3-floors, 5 rooms and a Parisian-style toy dolls house. It comes with seasonal accessories- In winter there are candle lights and snowballs; summer brings flowers and ice cream; and there are golden leaves and pumpkins for autumn. It also comes with 4 LEGO Friends mini dolls- an actress and receptionist figures, and 3 animal figures.
It comes with clear instructions and provides hours and hours of fun. Not just the building it, but playing with it afterwards. The seasonal accessories allow you to keep redecorating and changing it up. The detailing is so well thought out and it really does look like a grand hotel. It is one of the larger and more expensive Lego friends sets, but the play value is excellent and well worth the price.
Lastly for Winter there is a rabbit, sledge build, ice skates, white foliage and a few icicles as well as a snowman. The Grand Hotel is set over 3 floors, comprising of 5 rooms, an attic and a lobby.
The build might seem daunting at first – 1308 pieces is not going to be a quick build. However, as always Lego have provided clear and precise instructions, only adding a few bricks at a time so you can easily take a break at any point. There are 8 bags of lego – and everything is grouped together nicely so you don’t need to open everything up to find the adjoining pieces.
The grand piano and revolving door were my favourite parts – whilst our daughter’s was the cute little white dog and snowman. This is much bigger than I thought it would be and so seems reasonable. A child can easily spend hours playing with this after building it so make sure you have somewhere to put it without having to disassemble!
As with all lego products, this will stand the test of time so well worth every penny in my opinion.
This is a chunky Lego Friends showcase piece, the biggest Lego Friends set I’ve ever seen and potentially the centrepiece and main event of a child’s birthday or Christmas. The box is large and heavy, a real two-hands-needed affair. My daughter was absolutely thrilled with it, and plenty of other kids will be over the moon at such a big indulgent set and dove into it enthusiastically. The unboxing, and pouring out of the bags, is a joyous event.
Speaking as a cynical grown-up, for the size of this set, there’s surprisingly little variety in it during the build process. My daughter built a smaller Lego Frozen set a couple of years ago which had this same kind of theatrical profile to it, vaguely ornate on the front and like a doll’s house on the back, and while this set is substantially bigger, the building concepts are essentially the same. The structure is sound but ultimately a little dull. There are a few nice little exceptions, such as the revolving door in particular and the large circular window on the top floor, but most of the novelty accessories such as the piano or the rooftop hot tub are very small and simple builds with nothing really clever going on. I would hope a Lego set this size would have an increased level of interest from an engineer’s point of view, but the emphasis here is bigger rather than better.
While the build was a little too easy for my liking, there’s a lot of potential with the imagination aspect afterwards- plenty of rooms, characters, props and accessories with a lot of storytelling potential, from a Lego Friends soap opera to just pretending to be on holiday like in the old days where we could have holidays.
There are 1,308 pieces in this set- a fact I can’t actually find on the box- which is really substantial in Lego terms, though I would have to say that the Autumn and Winter accessory pieces feel like they’ve been included in order to bump that number up somewhat, as they’re small and completely incidental, like Lego confetti almost. They do have a pleasant effect to them and it’s interesting to see Lego toying with the idea of loose particle objects and sprinkling them over scenes.
For proper Lego it’s a typical price for the size of the box and quantity of pieces, not overpriced by the standards of the brand. While I would’ve liked a little more innovation or unique interest in a set this size, it is definitely one of the crown jewels of the Lego Friends collection. Not a “must-have” for Lego Friends fans, but a “really-want” for sure.
Fantastic lego set, my little girl has hours of fun putting it all together then being able to imaginary play with it once complete. Comes with some miniature figures for hours of imaginary play.
It’s aged at 8years + which I feel is appropriate, it is very easy to assemble with very clear step by step instructions.
Would highly recommend this product and will most definitely be purchasing more of the friends lego sets.
This is a beautiful set that comes well packaged with attractive pictures. There are a lot of pieces but the instructions lead you through piece by piece until you have the completed house! It is great for playing with a child as a bonding exercise. It encourages imaginative play and spacial awareness.
It is great fun to make and is great fun to play with once completed. It is a beautiful house.
The price seems quite steep but there are a lot of pieces and it is great quality. There are other sets within the same range so you can keep expanding your Heartlake City.
Highly recommended.
Yet another fantastic set from Lego, but would you expect any less? This set is absolutely fantastic value for money, there’s so much going on, so much to interactive with and so much fun to be had! The build is challenging enough and is aimed at 8+ but I feel with support some younger children would also enjoy this. The imaginative play side would also appeal to the younger generations but obviously be aware that there are small pieces. The hotel has a reception, lounge area with grand piano as well as two bedrooms that are en-suite and a penthouse suite with its own pool and a balcony for your figures to enjoy a few drinks on. I do feel for the price a few more figures would have been appreciated but I guess if you have this set you would already have others in the range or would be on the start to collecting more! The little hotel rooms are packed with detail from the duvet covers and rugs to the tiny sinks, toilets and showers. Behind reception you’ll find a little computer screen and phone, keys for the rooms and a little recycling bin. The little concierge trolley is great fun and fits the two suitcases in that have their own little luggage inside! For me my favourite part has to be the working revolving door, as well as the fact that you can change the hotel to match each season. A lovely autumnal set to change the leaves, with a squirrel and some pumpkins or set the scene for Christmas with snow, ice, a sledge and even a snowman!
What a wonderful set for any child, whether girl or boy, or even adult! It isn’t cheap, at 74.99, but when you look carefully you realise just how much you get for your money. And a lot of the 1300+ pieces seem unique to this set, which inevitably pushes the price up. In any case, I view Duplo and Lego as investments. They both have staying power, and eventually will go in the loft for the next generation. Alternatively, you could sell when your children grow older, and recoup much of the cost; Duplo and Lego will always be in demand.
Our granddaughter, almost 8, lives abroad, near Legoland Dubai, but will certainly be thrilled with this when she comes back to the UK for a long holiday, later this month. She won’t ask for TV, iPad, Wii, or anything else screen-based, once she sees the box.
I’ve looked through the instruction booklet, which is excellent, as usual. The build is long and complex, but the instructions take you through it one small step at a time. It’s going to keep her occupied for days, and I bet it’s the first thing she asks for when she comes back in December.
This seems a particularly good set from Lego. It comes complete with clever seasonal themes (watch the video in the description). I’d agree with the age 8+ recommendation. If you’re thinking of buying it for a child you know, don’t hesitate.
This was a big hit with little Miss. Although the diagrams for assembly are really clear, it was fun to help her build and get the construction up faster.
It’s a “dolls house” theme – outside facade but turn it round and access the inner rooms. Such a lot of detail. Beautifully design and plenty to do. Lots for the imagination of the child to take up.
Lego durability means it will last and look good for ages.
Because of the slight complexity, I recommend going to the Lego website and downloading a free e-copy of the instruction for the future. Click on Support. You’ll be glad when, down the line, you can’t find the original paper version.
This large box held many bags of LEGO pieces of colourful and exciting Grand Hotel Resort Building kit. The other reviewer showed the photos of the beautiful set and I’ll just show the bags with the pieces in closer up.
All the pieces are bagged accordingly and I needed to supervise my little girl on the bags and what goes where and what goes here etc…. Its a great building set which kept my daughter busy for ages and it helps her to exercise her brain and to figure things out. Her sister also chipped in to help build the resort which is nice to see some teamwork going on.
The pieces are are perfectly made and finished off, which is typical of LEGO brand quality.
Just make sure your younger children and or pets don’t eat the pieces.
This magnificent Hotel Resort is great value for money and the smile on my daughters face is worth it.
This is a very impressive set – it’s huge.
Although it is a large set it’s easy to build as the instructions are so well presented and easy to follow.
I am sure the Lego Friends sets are aimed at girls and Lego have presented a very playable set once complete. I like the interchangeable peripherals which enable the seasons to change. The hotel is double sided with the facade and the back with all the rooms, which are all suitably appointed including en-suite bedrooms!
I built this with a 7 year old boy who enjoyed building it and we had fun with a play session taking turns to be hotel guests – changing the seasons added another dimension.
This set is expensive but cheaper than similar sized sets in other series.
I’m happy to recommend this set and have awarded 5 stars.
I hope you find my review helpful
This great hotel set from Lego friends is a bit of a monster and well worth the 80 at time of review, the set comes with four mini figures (three guests and a porter) there is some great detail in the rooms with highlights for us being the piano, hot tub and revolving doors. You can dress the scene in either summer, winter or autumn colours with the photos in this review being the winter scene. I also really liked the mini ice skates that come with this set, which one of the figures can wear.
It could seem like a bit of a daunting build but the instructions are easy to follow as always with lego and the build of the hotel is broken into 8 sections or “bags” so you can take a break if you feel you need it, with a further 3 being leaves to dress the scene in. I would say 8+ is a good age guide for a young person to do this by themselves, but if you would like to build it with them then you could get away with a 6+ and 3-4 hours of quality time.
Lots of building parts to make your own houses if you would want to add this set to the “lego blanket” after playing with it for a while, a very worth while set more aimed at girls, but our nearly four year old boy has enjoyed playing with it immensely too, even though we did the build.
The ground floor of the hotel features a revolving door – maybe my favourite bit of the whole build. I genuinely raved for about 5 minutes about this little section as I built it – works so well and was an unexpected highlight. There is also a grand piano for the lounge and a nicely detailed little reception desk area. The first floor has two bedrooms that are mirror images of each other just with slightly different colours and the top floor has an impressive penthouse suite. Plenty of places to pop your mini dolls and, honestly, 4 just isn’t enough for this set but that is all it comes with.
The picnic area is created from book two in the pack and this is where the majority of the additional decorations are used. There are three main themes you can go for when setting your hotel up:
Spring/Summer – Tiny white bird, lots of red and yellow flowers with green foliage. Some nice trimmings for the picnic table and some tasty looking sandwiches.
Autumn – Cute little squirrel, three pumpkins and lots of yellow and orange foliage. Hot dogs for the picnic table along with condiments.
Winter – Sweet little rabbit, sledge build, ice skates for the minidolls, some white foliage and a few icicles. Maybe the best addition is the little snowman build.
This is an incredibly detailed little set and there are so many things you can do with it, especially if purchasing it as a playset. Not only will building it give hours of pleasure but simply playing with it and creating your own stories will occupy you for weeks, if not months.
As you can tell I am completely thrilled with this build. It is much better than I thought from the pack art as there is just so much detail. I was excited about the set when I saw the images on the box but the actuality of it blew me away. Yes, it is a large investment but well worth every penny!
