These work so well. Their battery life is all day, all night and a bit. They are at the cheap end of the market. I have not found a similarly sized and priced competitor that is close to them in any way. The only better products are newer versions of the same.

I ordered this expecting a Chromebook and powering it up, discovered it was a windows laptop! I decided to go with it and it’s been ok so far.

The responsiveness is decent and the device as a whole is pleasant enough to use. The build quality is good and solid.
My main, fairly minor, gripe is the touchscreen which feels a bit unresponsive and immaculate sometimes especially when dealing with small UI elements on apps. If you’re just swiping it’s fine though. Gestures on the trackpad work well.

I have only used it in tablet mode with the keyboard flipped over a couple of times, but it performed well.

This surprised me – I was expecting a glorified Android tablet with a keyboard, but what I got was a high quality, fully functional touch screen laptop that just about equals a five year old MS Surface.

Fast, enormous battery life, doddle OS. Only downside is the incompatability of many popular PC and Android Apps. Recommended if you dont need huge resources.

I bought it to use it for youtube for my workouts when travelling. Size is perfect and the pad is light to carry. You can use the keyboard or the touch screen. U can use it as a computer or as a tv screen when folding it. The size of the screen is perfect for watching the workouts exercises. Very pleased.

Bought for 8year olds birthday present as it was the same as school used. Bought the model with touch screen as he is used to this also on his ipad as well. But got a mouse so that he had familiarity with both. He absolutely loves it. He helped his daddy set it up with his ‘purple mash’ whatever that is. I know it’s something they use at school lol. He appears to understand exactly what he’s doing now. I don’t know if we can download excel and access onto it yet. I shall need to investigate further but I can’t see why not. Superb bit of kit though. He loves it.

I put it’s screen light at 35% and it lasts 3-5 days… Or the whole week depending on the use I give it.

It is super portable, I don’t have to use a backpack anymore to carry my laptop. Just make sure you buy a sleeve bag for it.

Make sure to remove all the apps (like Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) that are just link redirects, that way you can’t work offline, but if you install the actual app from playstore then you can do everything offline.

I have also installed linux to have Libre Office and GIMP. I can do pretty much everything I did in my older larger laptop.

If all you look is simplicity and battery life then I recommend it 100%.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis was my 3rd chromebook due to expiry date I decided to purchase new model after delivery and setting up my newer laptop which I am very pleased with I checked details again on line and to my dismay found product more than 100.00 cheaper needless to say not happy at all with my situation and as the saying goes Buyer Beware…On checking most {all) chromebooks have an expiry date of June in year? seems I should have waited before replacing however I will not purchase another Chromebook as it looks like if you wait to after expiry date sale price will decrease.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt is the best tablet device I have ever bought. I will never buy another Android tablet again. The battery life is excellent. The keyboard is easy to use, but there are changes in actions that take some getting used to.. like, delete, and scrolling… The combination of the keyboard with the touchscreen to scroll (for instance…). The only thing “missing” on this, is an HDMI port to connect a larger screen (this is on the 11.6″ version).. There is a restriction to Google Playstore, but there is a workaround. Note once you use this workaround, do not go back to the Playstore restriction, as this will reset the tablet to factory default, and remove everything you hav created or installed. Brilliant… I LOVE IT!!!

I bought this for my husband who only needs computers for emails, reading his paper, doing his crossword, and googling info. Amazing. He has not sworn once while using it which means it must be easy for him to understand and use it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAlthough the chrome operating system does not offer quite the range of features as windows and this does take a bit of getting used to, it is quick, practical, efficient and easy to use. The PC itself is a bargain and I am delighted at the overall quality, as I always have been with Lenovo. As long as you have a reliable internet connection and mainly want this for professional use, I would thoroughly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersLoved the size. Very useful that it can be used as a touchscreen tablet. It’s taking me a while to adjust to a chrome book as opposed to computer with windows. I’m slowly getting to grips with it. I have small hands so some with larger hands may find d the keyboard too small.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBest ever personal computer I have had.

Literally flexible as it can be transformed from classic personal computer shape to iPad tablet form in instant by folding it according to users choice.

Can be operated either by initiative touch screen or standard key pad mouse or both simultaneously:with your work or browser searchers automatically without you saving them yourself,

Clear sound l.No need for sound adapter.

Automatic connection to wifi without need for wifi adapt unlike my first personal computer

Massive memory capacity with memory card option.

    Multiple USB ports.

Long life battery with visible battery indicator.

I like it and I am sure so would you.

I actually brought 2 of these for my daughters for christmas. Their old laptops were slow & unreliable. Not what you need while home schooling during a pandemic!

Id been put off chromebooks before now, i dont know why just didnt seem like they would cope with what we needed it for.

I was wrong. They use teams for all of their work which has worked fine, they use roblox online which again weve had no issues with.

Its quite a sturdy little laptop, i half expected it to be a bit flimsy but trusted it being lenovo.
Its got a bit of weight and very sturdy!

Upgraded my fire tablet and really glad I did. This is a really good chrome book. Batteries life is 10 hours or more depending on use. Watching videos or music is great volume is load and you can fold over to use as an tablet. Memory card slot available as well. Very good buy and picked up for only 179

Lightweight, letters easy to see, screen quality good enough, touch screen, tablet mode, cheap enough to not worry too much about possible damage when transporting it all around. Keys feel nice to type on, and are clear to see. I upgraded to a more expensive larger chromebook and had to send it back as could not see the keys well. This one is not back-lighted but that is just not needed in my opinion. Really impressive value for money. I just wish they did a larger screen model without adding hefty weight – reducing bezel size would be a great start for adding to screen size on this one. For the price though, I really can’t complain!

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersWe wanted to get our son a laptop for his 6th Birthday as he had started showing an interest in computers and being as it will also be useful for school work we thought it would be a good time for him to start using one. After considering a Windows machine and reading up on ideal laptops for children, I decided a Chrome Book sounded like a great starting point and after looking at various models, I thought that the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3i seemed like a great choice.

Upon arrival, I was actually quite impressed with the product. The machine is nice and compact, but still has a decent sized screen to be able to read easily and the keyboard although a little smaller than a larger conventional laptop, is still quite nice to type on.

The bottom half of the computer is made from plastic, but feels very solid with no flex at all, whilst the top half of the case is made from metal, adding a lot more support to the screen when opening and closing, which I was very pleasantly surprised at. The screen is 11.6 inches and is a touch screen, so to make full use of this feature, a double hinge has been fitted allowing the screen to be folded backwards onto the bottom half to use the machine like a tablet.

Inside is an Intel Celeron N4020 Dual Core CPU which runs at 1.1Ghz to keep the power consumption to a minimum (and in turn battery life to the maximum), but has a boost speed of 2.8Ghz should the computer need a bit more processing power. The CPU also features an integrated GPU which in this case is Intel’s UHD Graphics 600. This is coupled with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and a 64 Gigabytes of eMMC Storage.

The device has built in WiFi and Bluetooth radios, along with various connectivity ports. These include a USB-C power port, a USB 3.2 A port, MicroSD Card Slot and a 3.5mm combination audio jack socket on the left hand side, whilst the right hand side sports a security cable lock slot, USB-C port, 1 x USB 3.2 A port, volume up and down buttons and a power button.

Other included features are a nice large touch pad located beneath the keyboard, 2 x speakers located on the underside of the base, and a built in webcam with light and a microphone.

    1 x Setup Guide
    1 x Warranty Guide

    ***** Installation / Usage *****
Although I build desktop PC’s and repair laptops and desktops for a living, I had never actually used a Chrome book before, so this was my first experience.

I found the Chrome Book to be extremely quick and easy to set up. After removing the IdeaPad from it’s packaging, I charged the battery fully using the supplied charger, which was very quick to charge.

Pressing the small power button switched the device on and within a few seconds I was greeted with a simple setup wizard. This walks you through connecting to your existing wireless network, adding or creating a user/Google account (should you not have one) and then checking for any updates.
The whole process only takes a few minutes and you are ready to go.

This was the first time I’d really seen Chrome OS and it is extremely simple to use (which is why I chose it for my son). Programs can pinned to the “shelf” at the bottom of the desktop for quick access, whilst the little icon in the bottom left of the screen opens the “launcher” and from here you can access any installed applications or search your device, apps, settings and the web.

There is a little panel in the bottom right corner of the screen where notifications appear, but also has some quick toggle buttons and status information for WiFi, Bluetooth, taking a screen shot, turning on/off the blue light mode and adjusting the volume and screen brightness. From here, you can also lock the computer, shut it down, sign out of the account and access the settings menu.

I have a Brother MFC-L8690CDW multifunction Laser Printer on my network, which the Flex 3 automatically picked up and connected to and I was able to print and scan using it without any issues or having to worry about installing drivers.

Because this device will be used by a 6 year old, I created him a new account when setting it up and then installed the Google Family Link app on my smart phone. This allows me to lock the computer down and restrict my little boys access. Using this system, means that he can use the web browser to search but will not be able to access unwanted content (of course there is always a chance for things to slip through). If he tries to open a blocked website, he can click a button to send a request and I get a popup on my phone asking to approve or deny access. He can also browse apps, games, music, books and video on the Play Store, but I need to approve the download. The Family Link also lets me share many apps and games that I have purchased on my own Google account.
Finally, at the end of the week I will get an email with details about how my son has been using the computer — screen time, apps used, websites visited, etc.

    ***** Conclusion *****

I was a little unsure whether to go with a full Windows Laptop or a Chrome Book, but I am really pleased with my decision to go with this little Lenovo. Chrome OS is very simple to use and lock down which is perfect for a small child in particular, as it is pretty much impossible for him to mess anything up and of course easier to keep him as safe as possible.

The Flex 3i is very well made and although the specification is quite entry level, during my setting up and testing, I have found it to be quite nice and snappy to use which is something a Windows Laptop of this spec would not be. It really does work very well and includes all of the basic features a child would need for school with a built in word processor, spread sheet and presentation software. You are also able to use Zoom and Microsoft Teams if needed for home learning and having access to the Play Stores’ range of applications and games, is a huge bonus.

I like the selection of connectivity options that are available, as this makes it easy to connect various devices (external drives, monitors, headphones, etc) and the touch-screen feature is also very nice to have.

I also love that I don’t really need to worry about manually installing updates or having to worry about antivirus and security software, as it is not needed (unlike a Windows device).
It is also worth noting that this device will continue to receive automatic software and security updates until June 2026.

All in all I am extremely pleased with the product and wouldn’t mind one myself to take when travelling. I paid 219.99, which I think is extremely good value for money and I would have no problem in recommending it.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAfter being a Linux/Mac/Windows user for many years, this was my first experience of a chromebook and I must say that I’ve been impressed.

I originally bought it months ago for use by the kids with doing their homework but it has proven it’s worth admirably during lockdown. Obviously for this price point we’re not dealing with something that will play the latest games or be used for anything else taxing but for every day use like browsing, school work, video calls and so on I can’t fault it. And even though it isn’t built from premium materials it still feels reassuringly solid in the hand without being heavy. Having a touchscreen AND the ability to flip to tablet mode is a great bonus too.

Any criticisms I have of it are more targeted at ChromeOS itself rather than the laptop – the ChromeOS ecosystem still lags behind iPadOS in terms of support for touchscreen but for the large part it works fine.

All in all, a great value laptop
