Have purchased several of these cards for my Fuji X-T5 after having bad experiences with SanDisk, great value for money and fast enough for high bitrate 4K 60fps video recording and also for burst photo shooting. Just make sure you also have a UHS-II compatible card reader otherwise you won’t get the benefits.
I have always used the Lexar brand of SD Card. They have never failed me and I always feel confident in photographing weddings with them.
The read speed is fast and allows me to have a larger buffer run on my camera, especially when you need a quick burst of photos.
I always use these cards as they have never let me down. Fast to record images, still and video. Competitively priced, known company and just get on with the job in hand.
I’m going on a long holiday later this year and thought I might benefit from a bigger SD card for my camera. This one attracted my attention as it was on offer and from a well known manufacturer.
I have used it for wildlife photography several times already but last weekend I used it at an air show where I took more than 2000 images, shooting sequences of 5-10 images, and it worked flawlessly. Image files are transferred from the camera to my PC very quickly with a constant transfer rate and no slowing down
One problem I did experience at the air show is that the second card in my camera (64GB) filled up and I had to fit a spare to continue. The solution – buy another of these so I now have two 🙂
I use this card in my micro four thirds camera (G90). Recording 4K video is a breeze. No trouble at all.
What’s to say about a memory card?
Well, there’s lots of memory for not much money. Splendid!
Superbly stable cards, great value, these cards are great value.
This is my second one it has 128gbts of memory the quality of sound and Vision is top class and I record in 4k it is used at least once a week for filming Videos and I also take Photos of the Artists and the surroundings although I would like to point out not an expert on Photos am on videos and this for me is amazing Value I will use no other Card again this is the one for me Exceptional Value for money and I have the first card for a year now which is why I waited for to give a review, believe me, if you want one get it you should based on my experience never look back the difference is fractional to Seagate almost none in quality of film, and the cost difference is a big saving my next one will be a 256 🙂
This works well with a Sony AR7ii. There is no need for a faster card because it won’t be any faster due to the speed of the camera SD slot in the AR7ii . Save money and buy this if you have a AR7ii
This is fine. Does what it is supposed to do. How it will fare over time – only time will tell!
Good price and quality, used for 4k recording and working well, high speed memory card.
The Price is Excellent and it works a treat in my Olynpus E-M1X. No problems so far.
Packaged well and arrived in good time. Why pay a higher price when this card is Excellent.
I highly recommend the Lexar Professional line of memory cards to anyone in need of reliable and high-performance storage for their digital media. They are an excellent investment for anyone who takes their work seriously and wants the peace of mind that comes with using top-quality equipment.
Perfect for use in my camcorder, allowing all the film I want to capture to be done reliably
This was a great price and the speed it writes is great use my camera is on raw style and fast mode for action shots as cover football and rugby games and never lets me down I’d purchase again for sure great purchase
Works perfectly for 4K videos. Handles extended use without any issues. No complaints from the camera or the PC. USB transfer fast.
Will get full speed but only with a good quality USB reader plugged into a decent USB 3.1 port.
As photographer I’ve been using Lexar Pro cards and readers for years, still have my first CF card from them and it still works as well as the first day.
It’s incredible you can get a 128GB Professional card for this price now, and I need to stress the word Professional, it’s fast, reliable and dependable, everything I need as a photographer. Will be buying again for sure!
Using Lexar Pro SD cards, this is a fast way to transfer your files.
I can not comment on other SD card brands.
Transfer rates are much faster than the inbuilt SD Card reader in most laptops, and also faster than direct connecting the camera from the USB C port to the computers USB C (at least in case of the Fuji X-T3)
The reader was supplied with a removable USB A to USB C cable, I use it with a high quality USB C to USB C (for ease)
New R7 camera. and was recommended these for better speeds, as yet haven’t really put these to the test either 4K video or RAW photos, put a few dozen shots and a short video, through and uploaded them to the laptop, Didnt really pay attention to upload speeds, but no buffering on JPEG high speed continuous.
Well, I never thought that I would fall in love with a card reader/writer, but this is good. It writes a little faster than my reputable-name micro SD USB 3.0 writer, but not as much as I had hoped.
But it is a good solid build and the flashing lights are useful.
The best thing though is it’s solidity – if any of your cards run hot, the unit dissipates the heat somewhat. That means there is one less thing to worry about.
Having bought a cheap (but highly recommended by Amazon reviews) 7 in one, I needed to buy one that worked. Within a minute of it being plugged in a previously “unreadable” card had been backed up and then formatted.
Personally the price wasn’t a problem, but although it is only a 3 in 1 reader over a 7 in one – I’d rather have 3 working so I would definitely recommend this produc
I am an amateur photographer and I have several memory card readers but some of them are cheap and failed after some time. I did a good research and Lexar card reader came on top of my list as I didn’t need 20 in 1 etc I have SD cards in my Nikon D750 and D7200. So use micro SD cards for mobiles and my security cameras. Therefore I was only looking for card reader that is small in foot print, fast, reliable and cost effective. I picked this one up on Amazon Day sale and I am glad that I chose this.
It is fast and Lexar is a very well known and trusted brand in photographic community. I particularly love that the base has a good weight to it so it stays where you put it unlike the plasticy cheaper version that get dragged by USB cable. I can insert and eject card with on hand as it is very sturdy.
Money well spent.
Amazon do list some fakes and I was sure this must be one of them cos it’s too cheap. So I did some research and realised this SD card is real. Reading between the lines (no write speed listed) I knew it must be slow to write but (a) my laptop’s SD slot is effectively usb2 so is slow anyway and (b) I permanently moved video from the laptop onto this card (and backed up) so once it was done, even if it took half the day, it’s done. For my purposes this card was ideal and insanely cheap. So rest assured, it’s no fake, it is 1TB but it’s slower than most modern SD cards. If you need a fast writing card it may not work for you (it copied around 25 thingys per second) but for everyone else, it’ll work.
Well, this SD card is a good one given its low cost compared to other brands. I have done some read/write tests and compared it with my old SanDisk v30 UHS-I as seen in the photographs (please note that I have removed the serial no. from the photographs). I have used 100 samples files for read/write and iterated this 15 times and I got the results shown in the photographs, then I compared them to my old SanDisk and you can see the difference..
Read speed is almost the same an average of 94MB/s, the write speed was doubled with LeXar which expected and was constant at an average of almost 90MB/s which is not bad.. But of course is not as claimed on the package from the manufacturer which is up to 250 MB/s for read, but it is close enough to the write speed (94MB/s to 120 MB/s).
In conclusion this is a good SD card for cameras (Videography) and will not let you down based on the above tests, made in Taiwan and durable. I highly recommend it given its low cost. I would like to test the V90 2000x and see the performance and differences, but it’s expensive for me… I hope this review to be helpful.
These Lexar cards that are UHSII seem to have more delicate contact dividers than some other brands. Its not a big problem as long as the issue is caught in time and the detaching divider is trimmed off before it causes a jam or whatever mischief it might be capable of if it broke off in the camera. I’ve studied other brand’s cards and they seem to have no similar issue. Don’t get me wrong, of the two I use, one has had this issue, but of four other brands, none. It doesn’t impair function as long as it is sorted in a timely fashion. It is a commodity so I buy the cheapest big brand card with similar speed and capacity, so if the price was right I’d probably buy another Lexar.
The advertised write speed of this card is 120MB/s. The above recording format(s) apparently needs 150MB/s, but my Panasonic shoots flawlessly.
I’ve seen other Panasonic users complaining here that the card won’t work for them. I had a theory that there was something different in how the S1H recorded/cached information as these people seem to be GH5 owners, but other GH5 owners say they have absolutely no problems – so I have no idea what’s going on.
Seeing as I’m able to shoot in such good quality on such a (relatively) cheap card I can’t see the benefit of paying a premium for a faster card and the ability to shoot in ALL-Intra 400Mbps, when the perceptible difference is negligible. The 4K Shooters website has a good article comparing the 2 formats. When I want to upgrade I’ll be putting the money towards something actually meaningful like being able to shoot in RAW on the Atomos Ninja.
In case you’re interested, you can shoot at this format for over 180 minutes on an empty card. I’m very impressed and looking forward to working with it properly over the summer.
