I’m still to find a setting that matches the colour references I use day to day exactly, whether Pantone, customer CMYK or other.
Screen quality is great (Resolution and sharpness) and the blacks are dark enough (nowhere near OLED quality, but for the price they are a close second)

As a monitor for office work, its great easy to setup and works OK so far. The speakers are good quality.
The reason for not giving 5 stars:

    1) Supplied cables (which software reminds you to use) are too short – That’s the USB 3 and the HDMI. My desktop is just below on the desk so it must be the same for others unless you are using a laptop.

    2) Whilst the monitor stand comes with the options of clamping to the edge or via a through hole it would be useful for LG to provide some guidance on the minimal distance from the stand mounting point to the face of the monitor. The closest I can get mine is 22cm, so it looks like I will need to mount the stand off my desk 🙂 This is perhaps because my desk is not free standing having walls on three sides.

So good but could have been better (given the cost) and included longer USB3 and HDMI leads or at least specifications so that I can purchase longer ones, rather than remining me to use the ones supplied every time I turn the monitor on.

Great for Gaming with MacBook Pro 14″ I am playing WoW and I love it. Connection with Mac is excellent.

The stand mechanism may seem a bit of a gimmick. However, if like me you need to constantly move your monitor to the side of your desk, I shoot a lot of YouTube videos and my camera is on a tripod directly behind my monitor. Then this monitor’s stand is perfect and super convenient.

The cable tidy/channel gets full quickly and can’t take all the cables that you’d need to populate all the sockets on the monitor but I won’t be deducting any starts for that as the picture quality of the monitor and it’s stand, for my use, are absolutely fantastic.

Gave up the ghost after 8 months – but I think an issue with the external power adapter rather than the monitor itself. To be fair to LG very good after service and a quick repair. The monitor itself is great quality.

Screen arrived promptly and on time. Very easy to set up. I combined it with a dock for my lap top and the two connected easily. Screen quality excellent support arm for the screen is superb allowing easy up & down, in & out movement as well as swivelling & angling the screen.

Brilliant design – installation was fairly easy. Screen is simply beautiful, great colours and contrast, and of course 4K resolution speaks for itself. The cable managing stand and thin bezels also make it a showstopper.
It also acts as a hub you can charge devices from, which is endlessly convenient with all sorts of wireless peripherals taking USB-C.
My only minor complaint is that it is a touch dim – I believe it is 300 nits or thereabout – with its size and anti-glare, though, this is barely noticeable.
It is expensive as monitors go but I highly recommend springing for it.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThe top reviews here say it all, so I’ll add my 2p being anything unique I found as a WFH programmer, marketer, & very novice graphic designer buying at the 600 mark

    Pros:
    – single USB cable to my 2021 MacBook Pro 16 inch works perfectly for both picture and maintaining charge
    – it’s big, the brightness is on point and the 4K clarity is amazing – better on all fronts than my previous LG 27UL850
    – colour accuracy once calibrated is pretty much perfect
    – the included desk mounting arm is a high quality item, works a treat out the box, none of the fiddling with screws and fixings like an aftermarket setup

    Cons:
    – 60Hz is starting to feel a little dated in 2023, especially when hooked up to an M1 MacBook Pro 16″ with its 120Hz display
    – built in speakers are pretty bad, where a 2021 MacBook Air sounds better, so potentially budget for external speakers (I’ve used my old trusty HK SoundSticks III)
    – with a desk pushed right against a wall, distance from wall to front of screen when set up as far back as possible is ~15cm. This may be an issue if you have a very shallow desk, though the flip side advantage of the setup is you gain all the space under the monitor where a traditional monitor stand would sit
    – 600 is starting to feel like a bit of a stretch for this monitor released in 2019

Final thoughts: this monitor excellent, but feels like it should be at ~450 in 2023, though 120Hz update in the exact same package would make this the perfect monitor and warrant the 600

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOne of the best Thunderbolt displays for Mac users out there with overall minimal setup. I nearly went with an all-black design but I love the aesthetics of the white back with matte finish now that it’s here—looks really smart against my minimal wall finish. Zero regrets.

While the single cable extends the display and charges the laptop at the same time, I wish the power was more than 60W as it’s still too low to directly support other accessories connected to the computer; original charger delivers 96W. Another drawback is the limited swivelling angle of the ergo stand that is locked at around 270 hence restricting the arm from extending fully when not clamped at the back of a table, i.e. on the side. It would’ve been perfect it turns 360.

I have one of these monitors at work, and like it so much with my MacBook Pro 14″ (2021) that I bought one for home. It’s an excellent value large monitor that while not as bright or as high resolution as the new Apple Studio Display, was a third of the cost. The matte surface of this monitor is very easy on the eyes (low glare) and very even across the entire area. And I love the large screen. Finally, the included clamp stand is adjustable and attaches easily to the back of the desk. At work, I use my desk’s own VESA mount arm, but at home I have it clamped to the rear of my desk. Overall I’m very pleased with the purchase.

Ok picture quality and takes a bit of time to set up to your liking.
Stand is excellent and probably the best feature.
Connectivity is just about acceptable. There is only 1 USBC.

    That’s no moon that’s a space station!

Very pleased with this. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a computer monitor this big in person. It’s ridiculous. Well it’s too big to put back in the box and return, I guess I’ll keep it!

On a serious note, great quality panel. Of course, it’s not going to give you the deepest blacks and the brightest HDR on the market – it’s a few years old now. But in terms of value for money, if you know what you are looking for, this is a simply phenomenal display. Simply outclasses everything at this price point. Very, very pleased with it!!

The adjustable built in mounting arm is very well thought out. And well engineered. The powered USB output is useful too and the single joystick for menu operation is intuitive. We’re using it for CAD and gaming, that it handles well enough for our needs. Nice one LG!

I was looking for a hi-res (4K, sharp text & image), IPS panel (matte), USB-C, highly adjustable (positioning & orientation) and relatively large monitor, and I was tempted to get a 34″ curve monitor. I am on the computer more than 8 hours a day for work and other purposes. The screen is important to me. This one turned out to be a great buy (after 6 months of use – comments edited since purchased). Both text and image are very sharp. Connected via UCB-C, it charges my M1 MacBook Pro (2022) as well. There is also a bonus that the colour calibration is spot on straight out of the box. Price wise, it is a little dear. However, it is probably the ‘cheapest’ amongst its comparable peers. For the quality that you get, it is highly recommended. By the way, I am an academic researcher, and not an LG rep.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI use both PC and Apple Devices. Currently, I use an LG 34″ 3440×1440 monitor. With recent versions of macOS I have noticed a very clear difference between the font clarity on the 34″ when using Windows vs macOS. That is, far worse on macOS. It appears to affect ultrawide monitors more than others.

What is clear is that Apple is designing current versions of macOS on the assumption that users are using higher-resolution displays, 4k/5k. That is not to say you will have a poor experience on all monitors and if you have nothing to compare it to you may find no issues for you with your current display.

For me, though it was not even subtle. Visiting some websites or using software on Windows displayed fonts, images and showed the operating system UI in very clear detail. Switch over to the M1 Mac Mini and the fonts are rough, the UI is not as sharp. Older versions of macOS do not have this issue.

This monitor at 4k levels the playing field between Windows and macOS, both are now equally as good, font clarity is very sharp on both, no jagged edges and so on. If like me you are writing a lot then it makes a serious difference.

Overall, very happy with this monitor, the inclusion of the desk stand is really helpful although may not suit all if you don’t have a desk suitable for a desk mounted stand.

Two small gripes. The cable gutter in the stand lacks space, I could not get all of my cables in it. I do have 3 devices using this monitor though. If you only have 1 or 2 it should be fine.

The other point is that it is advertised as energy level A which is the best but it is in fact the worst at G.

Significantly improved the quality of my Apple devices

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe screen seems great, the image is nice and crisp, the colours seem well calibrated and the stand is really nice and sturdy when moving around. I would give it five stars but for the fact I bought it mainly because of its Energy Efficiency rating being listed as ‘A’ on here (way better than most other monitors of the same size) but the labels on the packaging and stickers within the box when it turned up saying it actually has a rating of ‘G’!

This monitor can run at 2k, 3k or 4k resolution and 60hz at maximum. It delivers high quality screen when working and watching movies. However it is not as good for gaming especially for games that require good graphic (tested with Witcher 3, Dark Soul 3 and GTA 5). It also doesn’t support G-Sycn and the HDMI cable provided is faulty.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a lovely, crisp monitor. It’s got a good response time so I was able to play Warzone with no issues. It’s a fantastic resolution, I had to scale both the MacBook and PC we used because 4K was just too damn small on screen! Putting a browser up full screen made most websites look comical. Not being a curved screen I found that when sitting close to the monitor the corners and edges felt a little distant. But when I moved back a little it wasn’t an issue. The stand is great too, it’s highly adjustable and gives you space on the desk. Our screen unfortunately had a missing pixel and Amazon had no replacements so now we’re trying to find a comparable one and it’s so bloody difficult! So far nothing has been as good as this LG.

I’ve had this monitor now for about 2 months and really enjoying using it. I primarily use the type-c linked to my Thunderbolt 3 Dell laptop and HDMI input for my PC tower. It still has another spare HDMI and display port. It supports a built in USB hub which has been very useful.

It has really good out of the box colour calibration and support for HDR, though it does lack the peak brightness to truly deliver a full HDR experience. For the price, its excellent HDR support. The peak refresh rate is limited to 60 hz.

The best selling feature of this monitor is the monitor arm and nothing compares with it. You can easily set it up in portrait or landscape and at some insane viewing angles.

Its does include built in speakers, which are fairly quiet. I would recommend you rely on a quality pair of headphones or monitor speakers.

Overall excellent and I would highly recommend it.

This ‘HDR10’ is nothing but meh. Disabled. Prefer without it. Brightness is okay, would prefer more nits though. When the sun starts shining in your room, it starts getting hard to see (I do need glasses so that could be a factor).

The ergo stand is great, really convenient. It can be a bit stiff at times but in most cases… it’s smooth.
For the price range, you get enough. I edit videos and program websites for a living – This monitor hasn’t disappointed me so far.

The professional colorists, you will probably need some sort of calibration system because I don’t think it’s very colour accurate. It’s good enough for standard users though.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersAwesome monitor and the tilt swivel arm is life changing. The built in speakers aren’t too bad either! What I really like is that I can plug my USB headphones and USB camera in the back of the monitor and then connect my MBP using the USB C cable to the monitor and not only does it charge my laptop I can use my headphones and camera without having extra cables into my laptop. Amazing, I recommend 100%

Update 27/4/21 – 2 months on – still going strong, works a dream!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersProps for LG for pulling an Apple and making a product that makes so much sense.

I always hated placing monitors on my desk as they take so much space, and I tried to mount them on the wall whenever possible, which I also hated because of how inflexible the monitor becomes. Here comes LG with a monitor that combines the benefits of placing the monitor on the desk and mounting it on the wall with so many more angels and positions! Bravo, LG!

The monitor is great, no complaints so far, I haven’t used it long enough to pick up flaws or problems. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the speakers, saved some extra space as this is my work monitor and I don’t want speakers cluttering my desk.

Now, let’s talk about the bad things:
    – severely disappointed that I got the version with the white back, it looks cheap, it doesn’t mesh well with the black stand or the black front of the monitor. The back of this monitor is very important as I will be swiveling this around a lot and I am just unhappy that it doesn’t fit the aesthetics I was trying to go for buying this product. I think this is entirely LG’s fault, I read the entire Amazon page before buying this product, no where it mention the backside will be white, and all of the videos I watched online (including the LG video on this very page) shows a monitor with a black side. I considered returning it and buying it again in a different color but I just can’t waste more time as I really need a monitor for work.

I’ll update the review once I have used the monitor long-enough (only had it for few days)

Have been using for over 1 month and delighted with this monitor. Image quality and colour balance are superb straight from the box (my reference was a hardware colour calibrated monitor). Some review have mentioned middling brightness, but I have not found this to be a limitation in practice – I use the monitor in a room that has 2 good sized windows. The stand is superb, really great having the extra desk space freed-up and so easy to adjust. The packaging is great and the monitor arrived in perfect condition as a consequence. Not a single dead/hot pixel, there is some light bleeding evident if a black screen is displayed, but again, this is not evident in normal use. I use it with a decent graphics card, mostly for digital photography.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe picture quality on solid and I have yet to game on it but I believe the refresh rate goes up to 75 hertz.

This monitor will help create some space on your desk and it quite solid when changing angles.

If your desk is thin you’ll need a block of wood (or something sturdy for the clamp to work.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersReally pleased with this monitor. It is the primary screen of my WFH setup – so much desktop real estate that I’ve ditched the use of my laptop’s built-in display as a secondary side screen.

The build quality is superb and the stand looks really smart – versatile too. The physical bezels are really narrow (2mm) however the LCD panel is not edge-to-edge and there is 6mm on each side that is not used.

For some bizarre reason the UK model, or at least the version sold by Amazon in the UK (32UN88A) does not support picture in picture mode (PIP), this is despite the monitor having four separate 4K inputs. This feature would have been really useful for having Sky TV on in the corner of my computer desktop. The specification shown on LG’s US website suggests that PIP mode is a feature, however the UK website does not list PIP and the functionality is missing on the OSD menus. I suspect (and hope) that this can be fixed by a software update? I contacted LG support but they weren’t particularly helpful.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGreat monitor, great picture quality – bright, detailed and with vivid colours. The arm is great quality and easy to mount. Speakers not that great, but that’s to be expected in any of these screens, just plug in some speakers to the output and that will sort it out. The ability to have 4 different inputs is great and suits me well. Used to have two 27in HD screens side by side, but think this will be able to replace them no problem, running two windows side by side, saving me desk space.

Some comments about this not matching a mac retina screen. Not on this price range! Go and check the LG monitors that Apple recommends on the Apple Store and you will see they are about 1500!!
