Really pleased with this bench, we don’t need the table function which we found a little difficult to construct due to the spring clip obscuring access to nut/bolt of the table top.
For aesthetic reasons, I have fitted black M6 plastic cap covers to the chrome nuts and bolts.
What a great product, every part looks well made and fit for purpose. The instructions are unique, if you follow them stage by stage you cannot go wrong, (but be sure to look carefully at diagrams when assembling the hinge mechanisms, and it often helped to look ahead to the next stage to get perspective). The hardware was all individually packaged in well marked pods and correlated exactly to the instructions, Bravo. a reviewer said the top assembly was difficult to get the nuts and bolts into. My advice is to get all 4 bolts in, tilt the top forward and then add the nuts, much easier access. Give the bench a good wipe before sitting as there is brown residual manufacturing dust. It is a very practical bench.
Delivered late morning on my wife’s birthday ahead of her party. Took around an hour to assemble. Instructions were pictorial for the most part, but clear about steps, and which included parts were needed at each step. Easily assembled except for final bolt on each side of the back/top, where there was very little room to work. But was doable. Came out looking good, and, most important, the bench back/table top really worked well. Easy to execute from either side with one hand, but feels sturdy all the same. Makes an excellent bench, and an excellent table, especially if you are challenged for space in the back garden. Not cheap, but feels not cheap in use, very solid. It has rained a couple of times since, and the top dries quickly. The seat does not, unless you tip the table a bit or use a towel. However, the wood is treated and it does not leave watermarks. Easy to clean.
When I eventually managed to assemble the bench it was a good solid bench, but I found the instructions virtually useless, and I’m an engineer. I had to totally reassemble the locking mechanism as it was upside down, as the instructions were not clear, this would have been an easy task if the supplied allen key fitted, it was also not standard so none of my metric keys would fit either. The description also said stainless steel, which I know is a slightly vague description, however it is obvious it is mild steel so will rust if not look after.
Was look for benches and came across these.
Was a bit set back to find that they can be made into tables but this was perfect. We have used them in both forms and thay a brilliant. Great for large families whom may wish to use them as or.
Brilliant produc
Wanted something small but sturdy that would last longer than a wooden bench. T s fit the bill perfectly.
Two of us put it together in about half an hour. I especially liked that all the bolts and hardware were labelled well in a blister packet so easy to handle and find what you are looking for. The clips were tricky to put onto the pole. We had to use a screwdriver to prise it open and the springs were also a little tough but once together it’s a great bench.
Easy to convert with one person. We keep ours as a bench but we will probably convert to a seat over winter and move against the wall.
Once the instructions have been clearly understood it goes together ok. Two handed assembly. Could criticise the ‘over engineering’, however, it’s worth the price, really strong & will last years. Highly recommended
The instruction book is very detailed with plenty of pictorial detail helping you construct the bench. Once built the unit is simple to change from a table to a seat very little effort and can be changed from either side due to a linking bar and a handle on each side.
The only disappointment with the product is the thin nature of the slats on the seat and the back these could have been solid plastic but instead of rather thin see photo of rear.
All in all a decent bench if you get it at the right price.
The bench can easily fit 3 adults and I have no worries about the weight it can handle.
Changing from a bench to a table is really easy to do and can be done from one end, you don’t need to press levers on both ends to unlatch and then it clicks solidly into place.
I’m a fairly sceptical person but I would heartily recommend this!
One of the best things I’ve brought for the garden, solid and you know it’s going to last years and years, if I had the space I would have brought 2.
Only advice, construction is better with 2 people, I did it on my own and took me 40 mins to put together, also the construction book is brilliant and easy to follow.
I’m not a fan of self-assmbly and my heart sank when I opened the box, but actually 1) it’s very easyt to put together (best use your own tools) 2) It’s precision engineered and very solid, which means it’s easy to put together. All the holes match up, etc.
The bench is solid, the action is too, shifting position feels very robust and efficient. It is so well made and I am sure it will last a long time. The coating on the metal surfaces appears to be very thick and I am planning to leave it out all year. Let’s see if I have been optimistic.
I recommend this highly to anyone interested in a relaible bench and folding table, I will be using it for home working in the garden on good days.
Great item. Had the brown version before. Only downside is this was about 40 more expensive on Amazon than Costco
Okay about an hour to assemble, one man only required. Straightforward instructions plus reference to online videos (which I can’t vouch for as I didn’t need to consult). Need plenty of ground space and to remember for the last four screws which are the trickiest to reach, put it on it’s side.
Nice wide seat, suits the bigger butted like myself – won’t get a numb bum.
Love it. Will act as my lockdown bar till the pubs reope
If buying 1, or when separating to use individually, then a nice bench, that also folds the back over into a small table.
Well made from METAL, with some sort of coating. Ignore the materials it says on here, it is NOT wood and not polystyrene or plastic, unless somehow that is in the coating.
The coating seems hard wearing.
I’d buy again, but think they should make it clear you really need to buy 2, then offer as a package at a better price.
I love the way the bench transforms to a table. Many times we have used this function over the summer to sit the kids down with food. With an instant release it converts back to a bench. Love sitting on this in the summer and watching the kids play. Really recommend this.
Also purchased an AmazonBasics 160mm cover at the same time to help protect it through the winter months, but i’ve no doubt it will last well and be a very useful addition to the garden.
Really solid, I bought two and use them as a table, very pleased with the purchase.
This is an excellent bench and table. It took quite a while to put together but it was worth the time and effort. It’s very sturdy and easy to convert from bench to bench/table. Although the table top is narrowish it is still wide enough to hold a dinner plate.
I’m considering buying another one. It also looks really stylish.
Really comfy as a bench which I was surprised. Kids love it and using as a table great. Very impressed.. May buy a 2nd to double up as shown in pics
Assembly was straightforward although seemed quite involved at first. Glancing through the instructions I was a little intimidated by them, however just taking things one step at a time they turned out to be very easy, logical and straightforward.
I think the bench will provide a long, maintenance free life, although I will make a point of spraying some WD-40 or other oil on the hinges and moving metallic parts at least a couple of times a year.
My only very slight concern for the long term, would be with the main metal bodywork which appears to be quite thinly painted steel. I’m thinking if the paint ever gets scratched off, it might be cause for rust to start, but I think as long as you are careful when installing it, I don’t really think this will be much of an issue at least not for many years.
