Whoever said this was cheap rubbish (there always seems to be one) must be thinking of a different smoker. As far as I’m concerned ( I’m a reasonably strong man) this thing is built like a tank. From the catalogues, it looks like this model has been superceded and I can see why – the finish on this model is expensive and pretty heavy. I have only just assembled it and will write more about its smoking ability later. But the build can’t be faulted. In fact, I shall not fit the gas heating system as I want to use it as a cold smoker and this was the best value by far even with the additional gas burner.
Haven’t built this up yet, but is a very sturdy piece of kit, very well constructed
So bought this last year, liked the idea of either charcoal or gas, the charcoal basket is pretty small and doesnt last long enough to do low and slow and opening the door to top up the charcoal affects the cabinet temperature too much. The charcoal basket is very difficult to top up when the water pan is in place.
so park the charcoal, BUT when you put the gas on low and put a stainless steel smoker box with wood chips inside the charcoal basket just above the gas burner its a game changer. I have done lots of brisket, chickens, pork in this style. you get a couple of hours of smoke and then the gas just keeps the heat at about 240/250f or 120/130c, so you can cook low and slow for hours without any interaction. add a wireless remote meat thermometer set up and you dont need to check unless the temps are where you want them to be.
I have offset smokers and traditional BBQ that I smoke on, but this is far and away the easiest and gives same results.

Jetzt mittlerweile zufrieden. Lieferung funktionierte dank UPS auch am a.. der Welt super. Zusammenbau ist gut beschrieben. Also erstmal einbrennen. Alles soweit so gut. Qualmt aus allen Ecken und ffnungen also mit Kaminband die Tren gedichtet – schon besser. Regelung ber den Drehregler funktioniert gut. Groes Problem war das sich die gewsserten Weber wood chips relativ schnell entznden ( auf kleinster Flamme) und mit Feuer steigt auch die Temperatur. In einigen Foren wird eine Gusspfanne empfohlen. Ergebnis kein Feuer mig Rauch soweit OK. Habe mir dann die Original Schale nochmal angeschaut und die drei groen ffnungen mit Alu Folie verschlossen. Ergebnis kein Feuer und viel Rauch.
Mit verschlossenen ffnungen lie sich der Ofen auch super Regeln. Ach ja die Temperatur Anzeige ist bei mir ca 5 Grad genau ( Kontrolle mit digitalem 2 Fhler Messgert).
