Quiet and cool compared to our Beko which sounds and emits heat like a blast furnace. Wanted a basic machine, no phone apps or overly technical programming and this fit the bill. Add to that it dropped from 899 to 799 and is now 999 so it was a bargain. Currys wanted 899 and 20 for delivery, Go Amazon.

The name Miele speaks for itself, Which magazine always recommend it as best buy and best brand, it’s so easy to use, I’d never use Wi-Fi/app option but it’s also available, expensive but worth the money in the long ru

    So easy to use

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersThis is a big purchase at 850 in Q4 2022. At around twice the cost of typical heat pump tumble drier my expectations on performance and durability are high but depending on the energy cost trajectory I think It might break even in around 8 years as well as being significantly more convenient and taking up less space than drying on heated admiring racks.

I’ll start with the best bit: this machine seems well built, it is quiet, the door and filter parts are high quality and it is generally sturdy and feels built to last. It was also very well packaged when it was delivered. It is heavy.

It also seems well engineered and the energy ratings seems plausible. The machine doesn’t seem to lose much heat to the room when it is running and the sensor systems for detecting dryness appear consistent. It dries things fast without them getting too hot.

    On to the inevitable niggles.

Firstly, take the ‘fragrance flacon’ out of the bag and throw it immediately in the bin. That stuff is nasty and why on earth do you need it. This feels like a strange gimmick that is inconsistent with the engineering-first parts of the marketing.

Secondly, and I’ll give Miele the benefit of the doubt and suppose that they were slavishly ticking boxes in energy efficiency regs to chase that second + after the A rather than deliberately sabotaging the product, the ‘normal’ dryness that is mandatory in the default energy efficient cotton setting is not a level of dryness that anyone would consider normal. For ‘Normal’ read damp. The setting anyone would actually want and use is the ‘extra dry’ (which in fact just means dry) setting available in the other cotton cycle. I don’t believe that taking clothes out of the drier and immediately hanging them on an airing rack is a typical thing that most people do. My laundry goes from the machine to a basket to a folded pile to a cupboard and I have no interest in adding another drying step to that process.

Thirdly, for 850 they might have included a drain hose adaptor or size-up coupler nozzle or splitter with one-way valve so that you can attach the drain tube to the relatively common drain hose nozzle size used on washing machines and dishwashers instead of this tiny catheter-sized tumble drier condensate one. Expect to pay 5-30 more and spent 1-4 hours figuring out and installing the drain-away setup if you haven’t had a condensing drier before. Miele do sell a non-return valve hose extension which might partly solve your problemfor 66. My solution for this took hours of figuring out 40mm vs 43mm drain pipe and nozzle sizes and push fit vs compression fit vs solvent weld and hose internal and external diameters and ended with trip to Screwfix, 25 worth of bits and the installation of a standpipe in order to do it ‘properly’.

Finally, no one needs the Wi-Fi. No one ever uses it, the functions is provides are not even motivating enough to make me look at the app on the App Store let alone download it or set it up. Get rid of it and knock 30 off the price. If that’s only there to tick boxes for efficiency rating then shame on the regulators for incentivising unnecessarily complexity with no real-world impact and shame on Miele for playing their game.

Basically if they stuck to the basics – good mechanicals and quality sensors where it counts then even at this price this would be a clear 5 star review. The other gimmicks just add fragility and frustration.

It is one of the best dryer on the market, very efficient drying sensor will keep the clothes dry and the energy bill low. Highly recommended!

    This tumble dryer is fantastic!

It’s incredibly efficient and it’s power consumption is much less than my previous dryer.

Miele is a huge brand, this machine really shows it, it’s a lot quieter than others I’ve owned. The information display looks great and almost futuristic. Holds a great amount of clothing meaning big loads are no problem.

I’ve not quite sussed it out entirely as there’s a few things I don’t quite understand. A neat trick is you can see how much kWH it’s used per cycle so you can keep track of your electric consumption!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLovely tumble drier. Communicates well with the washing machine and the wi fi enabled option lets me know when the cycle is finished as our laundry room is removed from the living area. It took some time to set up in wi fi as I could not connect via the Miele@home app ( which was not an option on the App Store) but rather had to connect using WPS. Having done this it is now working well. So far so good but have only had it for a couple of weeks.

Fantastic dryer, dries quicker than I thought and very gently as not to damage clothes. Feels well made, is very quiet and the fragrance pod is a great idea making clothes smell very nice. Heavy machine though so be careful when installing.

First time knowing this brand, I was shocked by its high price but soon I was amazed by its performance. Quiet, effective, smart and intelligent, definitely worth every penny.

A stylish and easy to use appliance. Compared to our old tumble dryer the energy use is so much less. Relatively quiet, doesn’t make any irritating squeaks or rattling sounds, easy to clean and remove lint. The laundry comes out dry, soft and smelling very nice. I have connected the dryer to the wifi and can control it via my phone using the Miele app. The only downside is that most of the time clothes come out a little damp which I dry for a further 10-20 minutes and voila, perfect.

Build quality is excellent, very easy to install. It’s simple and straightforward to maintain and use (even my kids can do it), and it does a fantastic job of drying without overdrying, and above all reliable.

In comparison, the Miele is more silent and dries faster than our previous Samsung that we paid 750 pounds about 7 years ago.

I like to buy all the energy efficient appliances. My favorite feature of This machine is, it has an extremely high energy rating—A+++. I plugged it into my energy monitor plug and it’s shocking to see that it barely costs anything to run one of these. Having replaced my old, less energy efficient Samsung drier, this new one has cut down my energy consumption dramatically. It probably takes a bit longer to dry but more energy efficient and very easy to empty water container after drying programme completed.

It has so many great features, many settings/options to choose from, something you’ll need to experiment with to get correct for your load. Sometimes it’s hard to determine which cycle to use but always turns out good, I found Cotton and Mixed Loads are what I use most.

I really love the WiFi connectivity which shows me the progress of the machine and how many minutes left until the program is finished, it sends a message to my phone through the app when it has finished its cycle. The light is very useful so you can see if you leave clothes in the drum or need to clean fluff on the filter.

There is no other access to water outlet in my kitchen, so was happy that this dryer had a collection tray which I empty after each load, no hose needed.

The laundry comes out as selected, either iron or cupboard dry at the end of the programme and uniformly dry with much less creasing due to the large drum in which the warm air circulates.

The large 9KG-drum capacity is absolutely brilliant, makes drying on wash day for a family of 5 a breeze. Plus the flacon produces a lovely smell on the clothes, terrific!

The machine runs far quieter than I expected, and the room temperature gets no warmer with the dryer on. Only gripe is , being a bit picky, the outside of the door seems to attract dust.

Overall very well made and engineered, solid and intuitive, proving low cost to run. It is indeed fairly expensive but the cost over the life span, you will gain that back on economy.

Can not recommend highly enough, I can only say it is the best I have had.

Absolutely fantastic! My Best Ever Dryer!

Ultra low energy consumption. Build quality seems good, but I did have to adjust the door when I noticed the catch was colliding with the lower edge of the receptacle. Other than that no complaints. Not any slower than the old machine it replaced.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNever disappointed with Miele. There are plenty of different options for drying, cottons, linen etc. You can also dry the clothes to different levels of dryness. Programs always start with the longest possible time but will readjust quickly so if the items aren’t too wet then the time will drop quickly. Great quality and once we got used to the settings it is very good and quiet to use, especially during the night! Great energy rating which makes it cheaper to run. Very easy to remove water and clean the filter. Loving the fragrance sachets that you can add. The fragrance flacon is amazing, make clothes, towels and bedding have an amazing fresh smell that lasts. This is the best dryer I have ever used, it’s a daily pleasure and I can’t imagine not having it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best dryer I have ever, high recommend

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersPreviously purchased Miele products and based upon their durability, reliability and performance they are my go to brand for household appliances

I’ve had my Miele tumble dryer for 26 years plus a Miele fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Their reliability is second to none, and have found their lifetime cost is
    Best in class. Love Miele,
Including the dishwasher tablets – and no, I don’t work for them!

The tumble dryer looks great, this is a solid machine – very heavy. performs very well and is quiet. it took a bit of getting used to having had a simple manually controlled tumble drier beforehand, but once you find the programmes that are right for you its all OK.

My partner and I love it. Came on time. The delivery staff very helpful. The product is brilliant so far. Too soon to tell if this one meets these criteria but the machine exudes the quality I have come to expect – I am quietly confident it will perform the way I want. Expensive – yes, but quality always is.

I love my Miele heat pump dryer, I have the app too, it lets me know how much kWh it’s used after each run and is super quiet

I will update this review later to let you know how the product is performing as I like my reviews to be helpful.

wouldn’t have any other brand. Simply the best.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersA reliable brand that should last 15 years or so. This model is much quieter than the previous one we had from early 2000s – But essentially the same machine with some new bits and bobs including a larger and clearer display panel.

Very impressed with the quality and finish of the machine. Very efficient and quiet and the added features and connectivity are a handy option.

Machine is quiet in use, also very handy that it has an internal light in the drum so you can see clearly if you have missed anything.Love the fragrance capsule. Love how you can re programme the dryness levels on certain programmes.

Good range of drying programmes. Sensor control to decide when clothes are dry enough for ironing or storage. Easy to empty the condensed water container – and to clean the filters.

Incredibly low power consumption. Barely registers on the smart meter.

Some items come out slightly damper than I’m used to. Need to reread the manual!

    Fantastic buy!
