Quality item – have used several similar items over the years

Bought to replace the same model which had been working faultlessly for over 20 years in a busy household who knows how many showers it had provided. New one looks the same good build quality, very easy to install and working fine.

This one has not been installed yet, but two previous no problems.
    Easy to use.

Had this shower in our previous home, fitted it out new home, controls are easy, plus easy to clean. Very well made, plus as it’s exposed any issues the parts are readily available, but never had an issue.

Best shower on market easy to install great temperature control easy to fit and looks the bees knees well worth the money would highly recommend and great price.

Purchased this to replace an older but fully working gold version (which I will be selling on) Quite simply, these are the best gravity fed showers ever! But don’t tell everyone! Have yet to remove and replace this as I’m waiting for the shower panels to arrive. By the way – ‘value for money’ expensive but worth it if you buy from the right place

I can’t fault the Mira Excel BIV. It’s very well made and looks lovely when fitted. I replaced a Mira 88, that was still going strong after 25 years! I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out in my en-suite.

    Still the best shower.

Replaced my 20yo Mira Excel as hose had sprung a leak and plastic was tired and yellowed. Called Mira who told me the footprint was identical as I was reluctant to drill new holes in tiles. In fact, the backplate screws are aligned vertically whereas previous were horizontal, so we did have to buy a 6mm tungsten carbide drill bit and drill 2 new holes for backplate. Top tip: put masking tape on tiles to prevent slippage when drilling holes. Thankfully the old holes were covered by the unit, and the other existing pipes and holes aligned with the new unit. Very impressed with the flow of new shower, feels like a major upgrade and looks very smart and modern.

Shower fitted easily by tradesman. It is easy to use and looks great. Temperature control is easy and fast to adjust. Not a power shower but has excellent water flow through shower head.
    Very pleased with purchase.

Best shower we have ever had by far. The power is great, we can also adjust the power if needed. The mixer temperature is really good and there’s safety features so you can’t accidentally turn the temperature up too high. 10/10 from us.

This shower is not the cheapest shower but worth every in penny. It is more powerful than my old power shower. Would definitely recommend. All aspects perfect, and I don’t say that often!

One of the best if not the best thermostatic mixers on the market! 3rd one I’ve installed and the other 2 both lasted in excess of 15 years, this is a replacement for one of them

I’d had an electric shower for years, and it served me well. However, I upgraded by heating and hot water system (unvented), and eventually ‘treated myself’ to a new Mira Excel. I am so pleased! The shower is clearly well constructed, looks really good, and its performance is outstanding. The control is so well calibrated that there seems almost no chance of uncomfortable temperature fluctuations, and the delivery through its shower head is excellent. I can’t recommend this shower too highly!

Replaced an old one in our new bathroom, looks great, also our plumber has changed our bore/whatever and the shower is even more powerful. Absolutely brilliant, I would highly recommend at a fab price.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA plumber recently looked at my electric shower. I was thinking of upgrading it, but he said the existing power cable would need replacing, and that was a big job. But, since the room was close to the boiler, and the hot and cold water pressure was good, why not put in a thermostat controlled mixer shower? I did a lot of research. In the end, because we like a good shower, over ten years, the extra price of this shower was worth it.
We found a plumber qualified with electrics, and he took out the old shower and made the electrics safe. Then he plumbed in this shower, tested it, and adjusted it. That took four hours. One big advantage to this model is that it can be plumbed to a tiled wall without extra ninety-degree connectors.
But, the detail. The shower cable is too short. You cannot move the head and effectively wash lower parts of the body. In the end I detached the cable from the shower bar and used a 30cm plastic tie, which holds the cable nicely and prevents the head hitting the ground/toes when (not if) it falls, while enabling the lower regions washing.
I would also have liked something on which to put shampoo, as seems standard in cheaper shower units.
The final missing detail is the unclear markings on the shower dial. Bear in mind that long sighted people do not wear their glasses in the shower. The dial should have been a lot clearer. Crucially, the markings need higher contrast. I am tempted to use some white-out (correction fluid) to make my own marks. For a premium shower these defects are hard to accept, even if I have found work-arounds.
In use, you switch the lever to full on, suddenly, and wait for the hot water to come through, and keep it on. I can testify that the thermostat works very quickly. If someone else uses water in the building and so reduces the pressure, the shower instantly reacts by reducing the pressure and keeping the same temperature. Because it is a power shower I find it quicker to use.

We had a new bathroom so we decided to invest in well known brand (Mira) we’ve had Mira excel before so we new it’s a good reliable one.
The price is very high that’s the only downside, ones installed You can’t go wrong.

Great product, exactly what I expected it to be. Shower more powerful and temp control more stable than with previous shower. Would recommend. Best price I could find this model for.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe installed the exact same unit back in 2003. The shower has been used on average once a day since then, so let’s say around 6,000 times – has worked perfectly since instalation. We have just revamped the room and made sense to replace the shower mixer although the original was still working fine but obviously looking a bit tired. No doubt in my mind re the product of choice. Mira still make the same unit which speaks volumes.
I would 100% recommend this shower mixer – there are cheaper out there – but you you will not regret this investment.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReplaced a 20 year old Mira 88 so no need to alter any plumbing or holes for the shower head rail. Exceptional low pressure water flow, rock solid thermostatic temperature control and very easy to operate. Build quality appears very good although time will tell if it lasts as long as the old Mira 88. Not a cheap shower but if it lasts as long as the old one it is good value, particularly at the price it was on Amazon.

Great shower and easy to install. It looks very premium and works well.

I forgot to add that the soap dish was missing from the order but a quick call to Amazon and they rectified the issue to my satisfaction.

So in summary, a great shower, is working very well in fact the pressure of water coming through is much stronger and as usual Amazon resolved the issue with missing soap dish very quickly. Great job Amazon!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving used this shower for a few months now I absolutely love it. The flow rate is much better than my previous shower and the spray pattern is great, it also looks very smart on the wall. I found the temperature control is much better too, there’s far less variation in the output temperature if taps are used downstairs or if the washing machine is filling.
The soap dish which comes with it is no more than a flimsy bit of plastic so I didn’t bother with that.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had to change from a power shower (due to a new heating system) and chose this one. It is not as powerful as its predecessor but is very good indeed and I am told far more economical! It is very attractive looking, being all chrome or chrome-coloured, whereas my previous shower was white plastic which yellowed over time.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWe bought this shower to replace our previous Mira shower that suddenly stopped working, after many years of daily use.
It has a good power range and reasonably easy to fit although we did need to adjust the temperature to match the dial readings.
In all very pleased with our purchase.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersJust had my bathroom completely refurbished and bought this shower after reviewing I don’t know how many. The reviews for this particular shower were impressive, spoke to my plumber for his advice, and so bought it. he was able to instal very easily and efficiently. The shower itself is good looking, I like the simple controls. We have found a temperature that suits us both which we now leave alone, so we only need to turn it on and off. Powerful, good choice of shower sprays. I like this design of shower control, to me it is small and neat rather than the elongated bars, and it was that clean neat look I was looking to achieve in the new bathroom. So, so far, it is working brilliantly, can’t find anything to say against it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersSo pleased I paid a little extra for a very good item. There are cheaper shower’s out there but, as we were taking out an older Mira Shower (still working after approx 15 yrs), we felt confident in choosing another Mira to replace with. We have just gutted our en-suite & fitted all new items, hence replacing the shower now rather than later. This particular shower is easy to operate & I must say has a good flow. Yes, I would highly recommend this item.
