There is very little noise now and the shower head is great with 5 different settings.
THIS IS A VERY ECONOMIC SHOWER . WE ARE VERY SATISFIED.
Pleased with shower. Easy to fit. Was replacing same type so used same holes in wall. Would buy again.
Replaced similar one which has been used daily for the past 12 years, did great service !!
New one very easy to replace existing fitting , Note it only works on low pressure water supply !!
but works very well
It is a very smart unit and works well.
Installation was ok. Not sure about the filler pieces to cover unused pipe access cut-aways. Not much to retain them.
Unfortunately this unit had a problem that the internal hose clip was not tightened and so it leaked. A squeeze to tighten it solved the problem but this did entail removing the cover again.
Fitted this in place of a manual version originally fitted approx 20 years ago. Good upgrade and simple enough as it replaced an almost identical item.
Great product when up and running.
Its important to know that when fitting this to the wall it comes with wall plugs that are RUBBER. this I assume is to reduce noise transmission through the wall. However when fitting these if you “over tighten” them ( whatever that means as there is no spec) they will be practically impossible to remove as I found out when I had a small leak and spent 2 hrs cutting the heads off the screws to get the unit off the wall. The rubber strips in the hole and the screw and its retainer all rotate together and you are goosed !
Another point I noticed is that when the unit is connecting to the two pipes protruding out from the wall, the plastics at the back of the unit clashes with the pipes as you slide it up onto them and prevents them from engaging fully, hence my leak. The unit had to be removed and the plastics cut away.
Once installed it all works fine.
We bought this to replace our original Mira shower which we’d had for 21 years. Having been delighted with our old shower up until recently, we wanted to replace like for like and bought Mira. The shower is easy to operate and the spray is very powerful.
easy to install.minor pipe alterations from previous shower(old gainsborough ps1200).but noiser than previous even though previous one was approx 20 years old.but works well.
We have 3 power showers in our house and this mira vigour is definitely the best of all. Easy to fit,
nice shower head action up and down the bar, gives a soft, powerful but quiet spray.
My preferred shower of the 3.
Our Mira Events XS broke down after 7-8 years of use after it stopped spluttering out water completely and produced a burning smell. We decided to go for this since it had similar dimensions to the Event and also was thermostatic. Albeit the worse shower head and slightly less powerful pressure, I installed a third-party Shower Head of my own and works like a charm. Also much quieter and in my opinion sleeker than the Events XS, the Vigour is an excellent option for a reasonable price.
We bought this to replace an identical shower that had started to leak within the housing. Hopefully we won’t have the same problem with this one. It’s too early to say so far. Although it’s a risk we went for the same model as it has the same footprint. No need to move pipes etc to instal it.
Good value. Could be the answer to low water problemd
Got someone else to install it, so can’t comment on that.
Haven’t really used it but once it was installed and was shown how it works seemed to be working well.
I bought this as a replacement for an identical model, which failed after nearly 7 years of use. The guarantee only lasts about six months and I think that is a fair innings for a motor driven shower in a hard water area. I f you have an anaemic gravity fed mixer shower that needs replacement this is a great solution that delivers a good power shower . There is also a slightly cheaper manual version but I recommend the thermostatic control model as it saves fiddling around with the controls; set once and its done.
Pleased with the buy and good arrived quickly and were well packaged. The shower is quick to fit on the wall although that was because we were replacing an older, clapped out version. Our hotel guests tell us that the shower works well so that is all we wa
Cheapest price I could find as well as the quickest delivery for a direct replacement for a like for like Mira shower. On average this shower lasts us 4 years so well worth the money.
This was to replace an old Mira Event shower which had stopped working. This is a good replacement however the shower head holder is shorter than the old one and so new holes would have to be drilled in the tiles. We left the old holder up as it fitted ok. Seems to be a bit louder than the old one but has good pressure and the plumber fitted fairly easily as the pipe work was similar.
my old shower after 20 years packed up, tried everywhere for a powder shower some places were expensive, even screwfix where out of stock.
Just logged in to Amazon type up shower and this model is available and a bonus for next day delivery.
quieter than my previous shower..
Well happy
These small Mira power showers are the perfect companion for my Rayburn.
A remote cottage with a lowish pressure private water supply. This little gadget boost the flow from my tank brilliantly.
Purchased this as a replacement for a Mira unit installed 16 years ago. The plumbing connections were exactly the same as the existing unit. The difference was the mounting hole centres fortunately the slightly larger housing covered the existing holes.
One note of caution is to make sure you understand the action of the pushfit connectors (I didn’t) the fittings push down not levered up.
Easy to fit. Gives a good spray of water even at half the full pump speed. Runs a lot more quietly than the Triton shower it replaced. Good value product. Highly recommended..
Previous Mira shower started malfunctioning after 13 years of use for at least two showers per day – easier and better to go for a replacement rather than replacing parts. Product chosen as it was an identical installation with piping and power already in place. Working fine so far, have noticed that you do have to turn the temperature control up higher than the previous model, no problems though. Don’t see the point of the enhancements on the much pricier models.
My plumber installed the unit for me ~ it was to replace the existing “Mira Event” unit which died after 7 years of daily use. The new unit is much less expensive AND is more easily controlled.
This shower was a replacment has my Triton had seized up. It was easy to install, The controls are mutch better than my old one .The packaging was excellent Would recomend.
Bought this to replace an old valve shower that we have had for years but has always been low pressure and can’t believe the difference. Wish we’d bought one years ago.
Excellent instructions make this trivial to install. Even easier to use and it looks great. Highly recommended.
EXCELLENT ALL ROUND PRODUCT. FITTING WAS EASY, JUST REMOVED OLD SHOWER AND THIS ONE FITTED STRAIGHT IN WITH PUSH FIT CONNECTIONS. QUIETER THAN THE LAST ONE AND POWERFUL. RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY SHOWER AT A GOOD PRICE.
Great shower excellent power bought it to replace a Mira event it’s a spare room so not used that much so went for the vigour as it was a little cheaper and I’m delighted with it.
I,m so happy with mira shawer
I was looking for like this meney years.
Is my opinion five star is not enough 100 stars we have to give for it.
The first shower to arrive had a faulty power switch. Amazon were fantastic in resolving the matter quickly and replacing the item. For an expensive shower id liked to have seen an led indicator to show the unit is on like our previous Mira shower did. As good as the shower is in its function (hence the 4 stars), i do think the quality of the unit itself is poor, again compared to the previous Mira we had for over 15 years. I agree it is louder and the blanking plates dont stay put.
Great product for gravity fed bungalows as it gives you a proper shower. However the design when using rear entry pipes and the fact that one of the screws has to be screwed in behind the pipes clearly demonstrates that the designers did not talk to installers! Fingers crossed it works for years to come.
Very good power shower if you don’t need one to also heat the water. In general, Mira showers are laughably over priced. This one is still expensive but not as crazy as the others. If you want one that also heats the water don’t buy a Mira. You can get perfectly adequate ones for about 20% of the cost of a Mira.
Installed by my pet plumber. Gives a good powerful supply of water which is easy to control. Two gripes:- 1, the minimum flow is more than I expected, I would be happier if it would run slower before it switched off. 2, the flow control wheel would benefit from being easier to grip. As it is, it is shiny plastic and slippery when wet. As for the noise, well it is by no means silent in operation, but I have nothing to compare it with. Doesn’t seem to annoy the neighbours though or wake me up if my wife goes for an early shower.
Its fine but fitted into mounting points, plumbing etc of previous Mira power its slightly wider overall and in the small shower where it is, its a very tight fit for 2-section concertina-type door in open position.
Excellent value. Excellent pressure. Excellent thermostatic control. This replaced a Mira Event which had more adjustments to the angle of the shower head which I miss. Apart from that I am very pleased with the purchase. The plumber fitted the unit for 25!
Chose this shower to replace an existing power shower that stopped working. Key requirement was that the hot/cold pipes came in from the top. So it was an easy install in under a couple of hours. The shower is very easy to use with separate controls for temperature and flow so once you have set a temp you like you just turn the shower on and off.
It’s not unduly noisy – you can hear it on the other side of the wall but not loud enough to be intrusive.
This does exactly what it says on the box. An affordable Power shower that was easy to install and that is from someone who thinks DIY stands for destroy it yourself. The only thing I have a niggle about is that if the water isnt hot enough for your needs in order to adjust the thermostatic control you Void the Warranty which doesnt seem fair. That is the reason i have given it a four star rating as opposed to the five star.
I bought this Mira Power shower because my in-bath shower is positioned at the ‘wrong’ end of the bath i.e at the sloping end. As such, I needed a shower that was capable of projecting the water flow forward. It was to replace a now aged electic shower that had a somewhat larger ‘footprint’ than the Mira.
Power showers cannot be used with a combi boiler but I have a condenser boiler. You do have to draw the water from the hot water tank, so unlike an electic shower, you need a hot water feed as well. This required plumbing by an experienced tradesman so factor this cost in when comparing showers. If you have a tiled bathroom, as most people probably will, be prepared to ‘make good’ any displacement of the tiling. Hopefully, you will have retained a few spare tiles for just such an eventuality.
It did take some time to plumb in but it was time well spent. This Mira shower is stylish, attractive and, above all, very efficient. Personally, I find I have to have the temperature at or near the maximum but that is a personal choice. Early days as yet but I am delighted – and cleaner – by the purchase.
I did need to check a technical issue with the sales support team at Mira regarding the minimum gravity feed from the water tank to operate effectively (800 mm). The advice was helpful, reassuring and right!
Can thoroughly recommend – but do your homework first.
