This dehumidifier does a decent job for the price. If you have a big damp problem, you’re probably going to want something more powerful (and expensive) but for day to day use this is good. It’s handy for the bathroom after a shower if you don’t have a built in extractor and it’s too cold/wet to have the window open. I’ve also used in a room where laundry was drying.
The dehumidifier is small enough to be able to move it around the house as required and not too noisy.
This is great good size, easy to set up and use we move it around the house depending what room we need it in at the time, it really good when you have washing out as collects the extra moisture in the air especially this time of year when you can’t get the washing out on the sunshine.
This dehumidifier has had quite an impact in the house already as it Improves the quality of air in circulation and seems to combat the horrible black mould that tends to spring up in our condensation-prone and poorly insulated bathroom.
The unit itself is pretty sleek, it’s fairly simple looking but still manages to be classy with its black body and compact design. Everything is nicely put together, and the water tank is easily removed, emptied, and replaced.
When switched on, it’s very quiet, noticeable at first but soon drifts off into the background. The reservoir is large at 2.2L, and so you can have it running for a good while before needing to empty it, that being said, there’s no need to keep an eye on it as should the tank fill, it will automatically switch off.
While there aren’t a wealth of features, you do have timing modes, set humidity levels and other things so you can ensure it’s working in the way you prefer.
At 60 it’s good value for money and based on my experience so far, I’d recommend it without question.
As described and as advertised.
This is designed for small areas/rooms that are prone to damp and therefore potentially mold. This is not an industrial sized unit designed for the aftermath of a water leak where you’re trying to ge rid of the water/moisture in carpets etc.
Easy to use – no usability issues including with remote.
Lighter than expected at 2.3KGs so relatively portable.
Quiet to run – this isn’t going to drown out normal house noises etc.
Good sized tank but we especially like the auto off feature when the tank fills.
This dehumidifier is sturdy yet portable enough to be able to move around the house, including up and down stairs. Setting is easy to understand. It is extremely effective at removing moisture. I used this to remove moisture from a small en-suite bathroom after showering which it does really well.
This dehumidifier really does look impressive. I really like the design of this.
Working straight out of the box, plugging it in and effectively youre away.
It does work, and it does draw water out but it’s not as effective as my 300 which is fine as this is nowhere near the price.
For the price and how good it looks, I think it extracts enough water.
This is superior to any other dehumidifier I’ve had.
It’s simple to set up.
There’s a drawer at the bottom that collects the water.
Easy to use and it’s quiet.
I highly recommend.
Great value.
I’ve had quite a few dehumidifiers of different types. This one is very nice looking, quiet in operation and uses a relatively small amount of power. Being a peltier type of dehumidifier means it will only really be effective indoors, at normal indoor temperatures. I’ve previously tried using one of the same type in a shed and it did very little when the weather was cold.
Indoors, it does collect water but at a significantly slower rate than my others which are mainly of the dessicant type. However they cost a lot more to buy, use more power and make more noise so this one definitely has its place. For a bedroom, living room or somewhere else that needs quiet, gentle dehumidification it works well.
I like the display on the front so you see what’s going on with it at a glance.
One of the troubles with dehumidifiers is that they can be large, unattractive and take up a lot of space. If you’re looking for something more compact, that’s quiet and stylish and has good functionality without breaking the bank, I’d recommend this Monhouse Premium Dehumidifier.
It arrives attractively packaged in a branded box – very suitable for gifting. In sleek black, it looks great in my hall. I put it there as where I live is quite small and it’s opposite the bathroom, small again and with no extraction which is a problem particularly as I have a respiratory condition.
Lightweight, this 60W appliance weighs just 2.3kg so is easily portable and comes with a long 120cm/47.24″ lead . Despite the compact, slimline proportions it’s good for room sizes up to 30 square metres and – with a 2.2 litre reservoir capacity – can extract up to 800ml of water from the air in a 24 hour period making it more than suitable for many bathrooms and bedrooms.
A handy, easy to operate remote with battery included allows the unit to be turned on and off, to set a timer and modes such as Sleep and Defrost. Sleep will enable you to turn off the digital display so it doesn’t disturb you. It also lets you turn on the Air Purifier which this versatile little device also incorporates. This can optionally be used with the dehumidifier, on its own – or not at all.
One thing I also like is that a % humidity can be set in 5% increments and will automatically turn on when it reaches this level and off again when it’s lowered the humidity to the point you want. This works really well and means you aren’t using the dehumidifier unnecessarily – a great money-saving feature.
With a built-in auto shut-off for safety, in my view this Monhouse Dehumidifier is genuinely a premium item, both in terms of its robust build quality and its wide functionality. Unlike many dehumidifiers it’s also quiet and at its present 59.99 asking price, the Monhouse is excellent value.
The dehumidifier looks the part and is easy to use. It is slimline and unobtrusive in both design and operation. It is also lightweight which makes for easy portability. So far, I have used it a few times and am happy enough with the results. Ask me again after the winter months !
There are more intricate and expensive models on the market but Monhouse seem to have an optimum balance between quality and purchase cost. Should I Die before it does, I may yet take it with me.
I already have a small dehumidifier in my living room and it helps very much with humidity and mould, so I ordered this for my daughter’s bedroom as in the winter it gets mouldy around the window.
So far, this little device does what it says. It collects the moisture from the air and you can regulate the humidity in the room. Very helpful gadget and the price is reasonable (50 at the time of this review).
A sleek modern dehumidifier, with a remote control with multi functions, and a extra attachment for constant drainage. This has only a small tank, and only takes a small amount of moisture. This has an automatic cut off when the tank is full. This is perfect for my small bedroom, as it has some condensation and works well. The dehumidifier is so very quiet that it doesn’t disturb my guests when they sleep over.
The remote has a handy timer, so you can run it as long as you want. It also has a air purifier, which I really like.
This a great dehumidifier. The price is about average. I am very happy with this dehumidifier.
I have a dehumidifier in the living room which is quite big and noisy. So this one was perfect for use in the bedroom as it’s much smaller and does the same job and is much nicer looking. Mostly we use dehumidifiers in cold months as the condensation on a window brings a lot of problems for us. So if you have the same problem in your bedroom this will be perfect for dealing with it.
So it’s quite a simple dehumidifier with a few basic functions and it’s more than enough to do the job. Of course, you get a remote as well which is very useful. You can programme a timer to turn it on then leave for work and work it the whole day or night. As it’s really quiet it does not disturb sleep at least for me. You can regulate what kind of humidity you want we always keep it 50%.
It has a 2.2L capacity which is more than enough of course depending on the amount of humidity where you using it. Mostly we empty it once every week and a half or so. And if it gets full and you left it on an auto programme it will stop working which stops it from overflowing the tank. As its is quite small it does not use a lot of electricity as well.
Overall it’s good quality, compact dehumidifier with a good price which has all the needed functions. As well it will help you save money if you use the moister absorber packs so you don’t need to buy them. For 49.99 it’s a really good deal.
This is quite a compact unit, taking up little space in a room. You can hide it away where you will hardly notice it. It’s fairly quiet too, so great for the bedroom or even next to you while you’re watching TV.
The unit has a long mains lead and simple on/off switch on the back. The front has touch-sensitive controls and a remote to duplicate the functions. It’s quite simple to use and you can set the humidity you want it to take the air down to, how long it runs, etc.
The water collector at the bottom is easily removed and has a cover. When you open it up it won’t slosh everywhere, and it’s a really good feature. It turns off when full so no need to worry about it overflowing.
Works well, is quiet and has lots of functions. The remote is a nice touch. Good value.
I noticed a dampness in my room and was looking for dehumidifier, picked this up and let it run overnight…WOW, it collected quite a bit of water out of the air and that makes the space so much nicer to go in.
Would highly recommend.
As far as proper plug in dehumidifiers go, this is fairly compact… In comparison I have two other dehumidifiers.
1 large branded costing about 3x the price, which consumes about 200W and quite noisy but very effective.
1 similar sized one which consumes about 100W and is quiet but doesn’t really manage to reduce much moisture.
So this I would say sits in between the two in terms of effectively, but only consumes around 80W. My large one is used to dry clothes and does a good job, but does make the room quite hot.
This one seems to consume less than half the power, but I’d say is probably more than half as effective, and produces far less heat.
Overall, I’d say for the sub 50 price tag at time of review, this is a very decent dehumidifier, especially if you’re just wanting light usage such as removing a bit of damp.
This is a rather impressive looking dehumidified. It has a sleek design, with a clear LCD display.
Although there’s a power button on the back, it seems that everything is controlled via the small remote control. Whilst this is a good way to control it remotely, it’s important to ensure that you don’t lose it as there’s no way to change settings otherwise.
This is fairly quiet in operation. It could certainly run at night and wouldn’t be overly distracting from your sleep. The display can be switched off too.
This has a decent 2200ml water box, but I particularly like that the permanent drain pipe can be fitted if you want to install this by a sink or window to run 24/7. We can have terrible condensation in the winter in our house, however last year I left a small dehumidifier running in my daughter’s room and she had no problems whatsoever. I’ll be running this dehumidifier this year and anticipate it’ll work even better.
This is definitely a recommended dehumidifier that will be getting plenty of use over the next year and beyond.
Good size dehumidifier, very light and easy to move around the house. I like that it comes with a remote so I can control the humidity and purify the air at the same time, if comes with a water container which holds the excess water pulled from the air. There is an option to connect a very small pipe which allows the water to run into a sink so that the container never fills up but if it does fill up the dehumidifier without the hose it turns off automatically.
Covers up to 30ms and it works well in my living room. Takes a bit of time but it does reduce the humidity.
Highly recommend it.
We have an open-plan living room and kitchen, so tend to suffer quite badly with condensation and moisture in the air, particularly from cooking and of course during the winter months when it’s not always possible to dry clothes outside, so we have a MeacoDry 12Litre compressor type dehumidifier that we use downstairs and this usually has to be emptied daily.
I was interested to see how this little, thermoelectric Peltier dehumidifier from MONHOUSE would manage in our reasonably small bedroom, that has been extremely humid and uncomfortable over the past few weeks.
The MONHOUSE dehumidifier is pretty compact in size, measuring just 37cm x 24cm x 13.5cm. It has quite a nice modern look to it, although the plastic body does feel a little thin and cheap.
The front panel has a nice 2 tone design, consisting of a glossy black with a matte black strip running from top to bottom towards the left hand side. The matte section also houses a fairly large LED display that shows you which features are switched on, as well as the current humidity level and the current temperature.
The rear of the product is made up of 2 halves. At the very top is a built in carry handle and just below this is where the air intake and exhaust fan is located, along with the power switch. The bottom half is where the water collection tank is located. This is easily removed by sliding it out of the machine, so that it can be emptied.
Unlike many of these types of dehumidifier, this model comes with several useful features, including a humidistat, so that you can set the desired humidity level and the device will then switch itself on and off to try and maintain the chosen level.
It has an air purification mode that uses a photo catalyst (some kind of light to help clean the air), as well as a timer mode and a defrost mode (to use when the room temperature is below 15 degrees Centigrade.
***** In The Box *****
1 x VS-DH05(HUM_11)
1 x Remote Control
1 x Continuous Drain Hose
1 x User Guide
***** Installation / Usage *****
Using the product really is plug and play — you simply need to connect it to the mains, turn it on and then leave it to do its thing.
Water will begin to collect in the tank (the amount will vary depending on the temperature and humidity of the room, as well as the setting you chose). Once the tank is full, it will trip the float switch and turn the machine off, preventing water from overflowing.
***** Conclusion *****
As far as cheap thermoelectric Peltier dehumidifiers go, this is definitely the best one I have tried.
The build quality is reasonable, although the plastic could be a little better and it has plenty of features that you rarely find on this type of product (humidistat, etc).
The remote control is handy in one way, as you can remotely change any settings but it is also a bit of a negative point because there are no buttons on the actual machine, so if it gets misplaced you have no way of changing any settings.
It is worth noting that the item description says that the device uses only 60W of power, but the label on the bottom of it says it actually uses 90W.
I think the 49.99 asking price is pretty fair, considering I have used similar products for the same price that have had none of the features this one does, although the amount of water that it can collect is fairly small (a maximum of 800ml of water per 24h under perfect conditions) — my MeacoDry ABC can manage a max of 12 litres per day. As an example, I have included an image of the amount of water collected in around 18 hours, whilst during the same time the Meaco had almost filled it’s 2.6 litre tank
For a very small room this would probably be ideal, particularly if you have a tight budget, but I would still prefer to spend 100 to 150 or so on a larger desiccant or compressor type dehumidifier, as I feel they offer that extra value for money given the much better performance.
This is a great dehumidifier with a range of safety features such as automatic shut off and timer. It’s small and compact but very effective for spaces up to 30 square metres. It’s small and discrete and really quiet. I’m very impressed!
Dehumidifiers are handy and certainly do draw out the moisture in a room. You get them in a few different guises and of the ‘active’ type you can have either a compressor type or Peltier plate (thermoelectric) with the former being the most effective and the latter cheapest and quieter. We had a compressor type previously and although very good it does make a lot of noise and heat. This premium unit is very well built and certainly looks premium with care taken to make sure it reaches you in excellent condition with a protective film covering the front. Operation is simple and the unit is very quiet when running although the display could be distracting with its constant flashing bars. Whilst the advantages of thermoelectric are noise, size and no moving parts it’s disadvantages are energy consumption and efficiency with this being very quiet and compact but not extracting as much water from the air as the compressor type so this is ideal for a bedroom or living room/kitchen but not for somewhere that is very damp and needs drying out.
It really looks the part and For the money it is very much a premium produc
good dehumidifier small compact and quiet easy to store and place hidden away in a room, large capacity tank so not much emptying needed
This is premium design styled front panel dehumidifier with remote controller. This dehumidifier is working ok with no major problems.I got this premium dehumidifier delivered in pristine battered condition and I really enjoy it but unfortunately I won’t be able to recommend this product to anyone as someone can have real expectations when it comes to receiving value for money paid . Also as a bonus ,I have received finger prints allover the product with someones hair here and there on top of that which could really make this already premium product even more than premium .Anyway the same unit is working strong and is loud .2.2 Liter capacity makes it portableish but too heavy to carry as no wheels attached . Additionally this product is 230V mains powered so is not really safe for bathroom use but what do I know about premium products with so many additional free gifts inside … Overall this is great super premium product and I am thrilled and happy to highly recommend it .
This is going to be an item on the agenda at our next management committee meeting..
Whenever one of our tenants has a damp problem, after the underlying cause is addressed, we install one of our dehumidifiers to much grumbling from the person concerned because they’re huge (about 5 times the size of this by volume), heavy, noisy and draw a staggering amount of power – so much so that we’ve agreed to pay the electricity bill for the unfortunate tenant for the duration of the installation. They also cost a terrifying sum of money, the only reason we bought the things is because the hire charge was only marginally less.
This little beauty measure just 37cm high, by 24cm wide by 15cm deep with an attractive and informative display screen. It’s incredibly quiet in operation, making about as much noise as an Aromatherapy diffuser. It has a ‘sleep’ mode where the display turns off but the ‘noise’ wouldn’t wake you even if you were a light sleeper. (when we tell our tenants that they’ll have to leave our monstrosities on at night we’re invariably greeted by: “No way! I’m not having that thing going WHHIRRRN! all night).
It also uses only a tiny percentage of the power ours use – about 80w registering on my smart meter compared to something like 1500w for ours. But if it’s so small and cute and drawing so little power, can it do the job? The answer is a resounding YES – my bathroom isn’t damp, but at the moment it SMELLS damp, because it’s in the middle of the property with no windows and there’s no way I’m putting the radiator on in there during the current (August ’22) heatwave, so I popped it in there for half an hour and despite there being no visible or tactile signs of damp in the room, 30 minutes later the smell was gone and there was about half a cupful of water in the tank (I uploaded a picture of this but it’s not terribly obvious, as taking a pic of a clear liquid against the background of a clear container was.. problematic, but that’s how much there was, in a ‘dry’ room).
There’s a power on/off switch at the rear of the unit, but the main control functions are accessed using the supplied remote control where you can set the desired humidity level, switch to air purification (which can run alongside the dehumidifying function) along with the timer, sleep and defrost capacity. Also supplied is a flexible plastic pipe which can be used in situations where you need continous outflow.
So at the next meeting I’m going to recommend that we ditch our tenant-bothering behemoths and acquire a couple of these – nobody’s going to complain about having one of these in their property, the only problem we might have is getting them back..
Highly recommended.
