It works well and warms our conservatory quickly (albeit with ambient temperatures still about 12c) and looks quite smart. However, it does make a little more noise than I’d like. But the biggest issue I have, like many others on here, is the remote control instructions. They are far too convoluted. A single button that cycled through off/1000w/2000w/cool/off would be sufficient for most people. It doesn’t help that there are mistakes in the instructions either.
Didn’t realise that there should have been a remote with it. Only just fitted it but will be following it up. It’s a good product thought. Would definitely recommend
I purchased this heater as a back up for our centrally heated summer house on 3rd Feb 20. It has been used no more than a dozen times for short periods of time and was efficient however it has stopped heating and 2 weeks after guarantee runs out it now only blows out cold air. Very, very annoying and poor value for money
Bought this heater for our kitchen, never used the 2KW setting as yet as it does a great job on the lower output of 1KW . It’s a tad noiser than I would have liked but that could be because it’s mounted on a stud wall not a solid surface. Overall 10 outta 10..
Heat output is good, thermostatic control works fine, remote is easy to use. I can recommend it.
Good product but even after following the instructions I can’t get it to programme to come on in the mornings.
very good heater and looks great too , have one for bathroom and one for conservatory . There is only one little niggle bit and that is the switch too switch it on , when you push against it lifts off the slide down screws , so to overcome this just simply add a fused wall switch has your main power switch , problem solved. I have two of them and they work great with the remote control,. Happy days….
I needed a fan heater for the en-suite bathroom and having had an ordinary Dimplex before I did not want a similar as it just blows the heat down the wall. This one with a front vent looked ideal, and I must say after a couple of days, it is excellent, directing heat into the room rather than down the wall. Only time will tell as to its durability, but it is sturdily made and should last.
Easily installed, I need to be able to switch on and off rather than set timers or leave on so apart from setting temp quite high (otherwise it switches itself off quite quickly) that’s all I have used on the remote. Heat output is good and oscillating deflector especially useful. The unit is compact and neat, the display is not super clear but works fine and is not distracting. Sometimes a bit noisy in the way that fan heaters can vibrate but acceptable even in a small space, in this case a walk in wardrobe.
I live in a 400 year stone cottage with a modern extension. However in the winter months each room becomes its own climate because of the varied nature of the insulation and age of the walls.
One room in particular is my dining room which has a stone floor, french doors, door to conservatory and window. As you can imagine, it doesn’t retain its heat well from the central heating so needs a boost when it’s used. I fitted this above the archway going into the dining room and also connected it to Alexa via a WIFI IR Blaster. This is great because I can just say “Alexa, warm up the dining room” and it’ll turn on and within 5-10 minutes it’s a cosy room. I actually have it set up as a routine, that way I can define how long it will run for rather than relying on the built in thermostat.
I plan on putting one into the conservatory as well. We use it as a playroom for my daughter, but in the winter months it’s too cold for her. I don’t expect this will be off when she’s using the room as conservatories are not greatly insulated, but that doesn’t bother me.
Like most people have commented, the lead isn’t long so get an extension and fit it properly with clips on the wall or hide the cable if you can.
Bought this for our games room in the garden as the oil filled unit wasnt getting the room warm enough. This more than does the job. We had a good new year’s eve in there…
IT ARRIVED WELL PACKAGED, I FITTED A FUSED SEPARATE 230VAC LINE TO A DEDICATED WALL SOCKET. I MOUNTED THE UNIT HIGH UP ABOVE A DOOR FRAME. IT DID NOT WORK AT FIRST DUE TO A FLAT BUTTON BATTERY IN THE REMOTE CONTROL. I RECOMMEND A DURACELL BATTERY INSTEAD. THE BLOWER WARMS TO COLD DOWNSTAIRS ROOM IN 3 MINUTES AND FULLY OPERATIONAL USING THE REMOTE CONTROL. VERY NEAT AND NICE LOOKING PRODUCT.
I’ve had this running for around a month so far and it has been faultless. It looks great and is easy to operate. It’s installed in a porch that historically suffered from condensation on the single skin brickwork. Since installing no more condensation. Just set the desired temperature and let it operate in ‘smart’ mode.
Very powerful and easy to install it
The remote isn’t working since day one but overall very cheap and good
So the manual is not great with some mistakes e.g. the distance between between the holes to drill is 15.5in or 393mm not 398mm stated in the manual. Also some of the remote operations do not work ask described in the manual but I managed to figure it out. Overall it’s a cheap heater that looks decent and heats up fast.
Opened the box today as it was getting installed at our shop and there is no remote control in the box or instructions. Please advise.
Fantastic product, heats the bathroom is no time, it gives off a better more even heat than a fan heater, it can be programmed to come on and off but it heats up the room that quickly we just turn it on 2 mins before we get in the shower.
This great stuff, it warm up quickly and solid, but sometimes it can be a bit noisy …. do hope it will in proof the noise thing… overall is well worth money… do highly recommend!!!!
I bought this for my new bathroom. I am really surprised by it. It is of great quality. It warms really quickly. It works with the remote and without it.
Excellent for heating , remote complicates!
Biggest issue is the stat cuts out at the selected temperature but is very slow to cut back in again even though the temperature has dropped below the selected temperature
So far great. Simple to install and as others have mentioned the instructions are microscopic and the power cable is short. The remote control is infra red so need line of sight but works very well. It’s been up for 2 days so far and I’m very impressed.
Fitted in the bathroom, heat up bathroom very quickly, weekly timer/programmer with up to 6 programs per day is great addition, being remotely controlled is great feature for bathroom use. All together great product.
We set this item up in our kitchen above the door as there is limited space and it heats up the room perfectly. With the unit also having a thermostat it turns on and off when it needs to so you can just leave it to do its job. Would recommend.
Very compact and neat unit. I purchased a different unit before but this one was a better buy. Works well and switches off automatically once temperature is reached and starts when it drops below set point. Has a stand-by mode so you know it’s powered. You can also use the rocker switch to power off. Only down side is that the beeper is noisy. It’s a sharp sound and I’ll like it to be softer or disabled and it would be a nice function to allow this. Note that most of these units have a sharp beep.
I purchased this over the door heater to warm up a small cloakroom, a floor standing or wall mounted conventional radiator would be to intrusive in such a small room. The installation was quite easy, however it is important to remember (when choosing the position) that although this heater is designed to plug into a 3 pin socket make sure that it is not overloading the protective circuit breaker in the consumer board. Once I had overcome this basic error the heater worked fine and was easy to program and control with the remote and has warmed up a cold cloakroom
looks great, pumps out heat but no way near as much as the normal floor 2kw in my bedroom which is a pity. its now Sept’18 and the buttons and the remote are playing up but i still manage to run it. when they eventually fail i would probably get [hopefully] the exact same unit, simply because the screws etc are in place for easy refi
What a wonderfull piece of eqipment. Has two heat settings & a cold setting for those 1976 summers. An ossilator moves the air around. Set from 15 celcius up to a balmy 49. A timer completes the features with settings up to 8 hours & auto shutoff.
This gets my rating.
Simple to use and easy to fit, it does not warm the room in the same way as a radiator but it definately does take the chill off the room.
Had to rewire the heater as the fitted cable was nowhere near long enough. Very easy to do just replace existing cable with 1mm 2core and your done. whilst I had the back off the heater I had access to the mounting hole perfect, no measuring to do. A template could have been marked out on the box or placed in the box for convenience to some fitters. Other wise I am perfectly happy with the heater and it’s operation.
Highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant product, looks like a mini air conditioner, ours is in a long, narrow kitchen which has a small radiator at one end and a cold area near the window. This unit is fitted above the window and gives loads of heat, makes the whole room warm and cosy, as it blows directly over the sink, I use the oscillating facility which spreads the heat around. The remote control is a real boon. We did have to have a power source fitted above a kitchen cabinet but well worth it. Update, had this now for three years and still going strong, only little problem has been the oscillator stopped working, otherwise brillia
Looks a nice solid piece of kit
I mounted it on the wall, plugged it in and it works perfectly.
The remote is easy to use and the temperature control actually works; unlike a similar heater I purchased last yea
Good product, but it’s a bit underpowered and the way in which it keeps temperature is very weird, but it serves it purpose and they still work now (may ’16)
Fantastic heater bought two to heat a small hall and does the job perfectly. The remote control makes life much easier however it does have to be in line of sight, not as good as TV remote but I’m not complaining still very happy with it. Looks modern and fairly quite, easy enough to mount on the wall. would recommend!
It has the appearance of a smart air conditioner when fitted. Good heat output and relatively quiet for a fan heater. Although fitted with a 3 pin plug there is no earth wire in the flex so it probably does not conform to IP regulations for a bathroom heater. The common sense solution is to control the heater only with the remote. It is interesting that other very similar heaters, sold on Amazon, specifically state not suitable for bathroom use. I have taken the flex out through a wall for mains connection in an adjacent cupboard. I would not be comfortable using the heater plugged in to a 13 amp socket in the bathroom or hard wired, without a separate earth.
Just a word of warning. I already had one of these heaters which I was very pleased with but it decided to start playing up after about 5 years.
I simply wanted to order the exact same heater as it is shown on the Amazon site. This one is a slightly different design though, not as advertised by the seller ( perhaps they sent the wrong one?). The controls on its fascia and remote are different as you can see on my attached photo. No great hardship though, does the same excellent job of heating the bathroom up very quickly. My main gripe is that the screw head slots for hanging it are in slightly different positions from the old one so I had to drill another hole in the newly fitted bathroom tiles! Mrs none too happy! But, as I say, its an excellent heater and would recommend it.
This wall heater has proved to a useful item, I bought a year ago when the charity I work for had to move to a new warehouse. I have it on the wall in my sewing area at work, and warms my room up nicely at this time of year, and helps to keep it cool in the summer. I would defiantly buy it again.
fantastic!!! i needed a heat source for the kitchen as there was no radiator. With not much room on the floor this was perfect. No hard wiring, just plugs into a normal socket ( bear in mind the cable is not particularly long approx 1.5m) but fitted perfect for me as we have a socket above the work surface height. So easy to use via a remote, easy to set temps and warms the kitchen in minutes. Not at all noisy obviously you can hear a fan blowing the heat but nothing worth moaning about. Well packaged and fast delivery. I’m very pleased!! I’m thinking of getting one for the conservatory also.
our heater came and did what we needed as we had no heating in the kitchen we had it for 3 day and then it went wrong . we wrote and told them what was wrong and where would we need to send it back to. they replyed that day and said they would send a replacement to us and that we could discard the old one . which we did the new one came and we have had no trouble with this one, because of the issues we had we feel that the service they gave us was very good and they where very helpful for us. so thank you very much
The first unit I received worked as a fan heater but there was no electronic display. I found it impossible to set the temperature and timer accurately without the electronic display (the instructions are not very good). So I contacted the retailer asking for repair or replacement and they sent me another until which works fine. I am very happy with it: it heats up my small kitchen quickly and is quiet.
In use in a 16′ x 8′ double-glazed conservatory and perfectly capable of making it inhabitable despite snow outside. Noise not obtrusive and it gets up to a reasonable temperature quite quickly.
The temperature display is quite confusing and I haven’t worked out what temperature is being displayed sometimes – the instructions are in pigeon English and uninformative.
Good value, I’m pleased with this purchase.
We’ve installed this in our smallish bathroom as the previous “downflow” heater had a tendency to switch off (as an ‘elf and safety feature apparently) just as you needed the warm air flow after stepping out of the shower.
Having read several Amazon reviews this was ordered and fitted very quickly (it only requires two accurately placed wall screws and a mains plug). Obviously in a bathroom environment it must be placed out of Zone 1 and Zone 2 ‘splash’ areas and must not be reachable by hand (that’s why other heaters have a pull cord). Luckily this heater has a remote control so you don’t have to put your hand anywhere near it. In a different setting you can press the buttons on the unit instead of / as well as the remote control.
In use it’s straightforward enough: press a button on the remote (which is different to the one shown in the product picture, much smaller, thinner) to turn it on then two more blips to switch on the 1KW and then the 2KW heater setting. It beeps as you do this and the controls light up on the heater too so you know what you’ve set it to.
Without touching the temperature settings (up / down only) it seems to default to a maximum of 49 degrees Centigrade before automatically switching off the heating aspect (the fan keeps going though).
If you do press the up/down temperature button it starts from its previous setting (ie you set it to 35 degrees yesterday, well that’s where it starts from today).
In a bathroom, coming out of the shower, 49 degrees is just fine but before you go in it can be a bit warm so I switch it on initially at 35 degrees and bump it up to 40-something before getting in the shower.
The airflow is about the same as a small downflow heater but because the fan is much longer in this unit it warms things up a lot quicker. It’s about the same noise level too, nothing to worry about not even at 6am. In a shop or workshop you’d not even notice the ‘noise’ of the fan.
When it’s time to go press the OFF button (the same one you turned it ON with) and it then switches off the heating feature but keeps the fan going for another 30 seconds to cool down the efficient PTC heating element to prolong its life. After 30 seconds it beeps and switches off – but still displays the current room temperature.
So 4-stars, but not 5-stars – why?
Firstly I’m a bit disappointed with the remote control, it is very small and I can’t seem to source an additional one in case this dinky thing gives up the ghost; it is being used daily, twice a day after all.
Secondly, I’d like to switch off that beeping but I can’t. After a while it gets a bit nerve-jangly if you muck about with the temperature setting as much as I do (described above).
I do like the way it cools down before switching off, and the fact it stays ‘on’ and displays the room temperature.
I like its efficiency in heating up my bathroom and not switching off when its not supposed to like my old heater used to.
It’s not particularly small (about twice the size of my previous heater) and as several other reviewers have remarked, looks like the indoor part an air conditioning unit. It looks just fine on the wall of my bathroom, not too big, not out of place.
Would I buy this again? Like a shot. A great heater that does the job very nicely and maybe the beeps will grow on me!
Looks the part got it for a 69ft shop. Customers have felt it when they walked in, not the machines fault mine for ordering it but in a smaller area would be ideal doesn’t make any noise easy to fit perfect little machine
