I received my tripod this afternoon. It was heavier than I expected. This worked out for the best. I used it in a stiff wind. The extra weight kept my camera steady where my old light weight tripod would have been at the mercy of the wind.
great product, i wish there was a way to add weight to it to sturdy the tripod
For its price, very solid camera tripod with smooth swivel movement of head
Very sturdy and holds the position you put in. No floating at all.
This is the best tripod I have owned and the best value for the price. Now I have had entry level tripods up until this point, but I have been on shoots with semi pro or entry pro level tripods and this seems on par with some I have seen on those shoots.
There is nothing bad I can say so far. I haven’t shot with it, but I took it out and played with all the features and it moves so smooth (both pan and tilt) which is a huge issue for low quality tripods that are jumpy/jittery. I love the way the legs adjust and the ball/tilt option. I have no complaints out of the box and I am very happy I went with this one as comparable ones were way more expensive.
I shoot videos for YouTube and I am a tall (6’3″) individual. So the camera has to be higher than I am so you can see the projects behind me. This was perfect! It replaced another unit that I had that always fell over eventually leading to the destruction of the camera. THIS UNIT IS STABLE and even if you forget to tighten the camera in the shoe at the top, it’ll automatically clip itself in so you don’t have an accident. Very pleased! It’s also very quick and easy to adjust the height when shooting. I am very pleased!
This is by far the best Tripod for the money on the market. It feels and looks great. A must buy if you want to take your hobby or small business to the next level.
Qualit prezzo ottima.
Ottima fluidit e stabilit.
They say you should invest 50% to 100% in a tripod or mount compared to your binocular/telescope purchase. I have a terrific pair of binocs ($250) so I spent $125 on this tripod. Excellent, excellent buy. So many sturdy adapters. Slide off rail to mount binocs. Bubble level. Super easy set-up and adjustment.
Everything and more except what to do with tool kit. No diagram, no instructions. What are the tools for? Otherwise this is an excellant product.
It works perfect with my rig, Canon mirror less camera. It’s lightweight and professional yet very sturdy. The price is perfect, the fluid head works perfectly I would say so far so good. Only thing it lacks I would say is sharp metal pegs for carpets and out doors but still sturdy n stable. Have used it in the bush unmanned at a wedding with no issues. Definitely recommend
I’ve been always needing a goated tripod for videos and this one is so amazing. Very sturdy and rigid. It even has a super smooth swivel at the top to get panning shots EZ
I bought a so called heavy duty tripod for $80. It had spindly legs and, what they did not say, a hook to hand a weight on so it does not blow or fall over. Could not easily handle my Big astronomy binoculars. No handle to pan and tilt. You have to loosen a screw and then move it, then tighten it again. With my new one I merely use the tilt handle and twist to open or lock. Much easier and sturdier too. Weighs almost 3 times what my other “heavy duty” tripod weighs but it works and is rock solid with three tubes for each leg, not one skinny one. Highly recommended by someone who owns 4 tripods.
This tripod is excellent for any cinema camera or DSLR camera. I have a black Magic Camera attached with a 70 to 200 mm lens and the tripod is so sturdy it doesn’t even fall over will highly recommend this product!
I was pleasantly surprised at this tripod! It comes with a nice nylon case, and the sturdy connected legs (seriously, this is NOT going to tip over) can be raised to a height of 78″. I’m pretty sure I won’t need another tripod for a long time.
This tripod is really solid and stable with a lot of weight. I even mounted my slider on top of it and i was not concerned with it tipping over, would take some wild winds to topple this thing and i didnt even add any weight or sand bags to stabilize it.
The fluid head is nice and smooth and would work great for panning around or photographing fast moving subjects with a heavy lens
A sturdy tripod. Can’t wait to figure out how to use it. The ‘instructions’ should have come with instructions. I’ve had many tripods but this one seemed a little over complicated at first.
The sturdiness definitely helps when I’m using my zoom lens. A great product.
This tripod is leaps and bounds better than my previous one, the E****O”. I’m using it for my digital camera with a 300mm lens for moon photography to start with. The mount is solid and easy to move around and adjust. This triPod is big but not overly heavy. Easy enough to carry around and use just about anywhere. The flip locks hold the legs tight. If I had one improvement to make , I would add marks/numbers to the lower legs so you now that all three are extended evenly for the height you desire. Still a 5 star product.
Definitely a solid tripod! Very smooth fluid head. Great stability. More than sufficient to hold a cinema rig and attachments that would consist of a mirrorless camera with monitor, lighting and matbox.
This is a great quality lightweight tripod that’s priced really well. It’s not super heavy duty so it’s only really good for smaller or lightweight cameras. Big camera rigs will just be too much weight for this. The tripod is easy to use and can be deployed quickly. Everything feels nice and solid and the control arm offered smooth motion. It all comes in a handy carry case which makes it great for travelling with.
This is fantastic. I’ve had various tripods over the years, but this thing is amazing.
It’s very solid and stable. Of course that means it’s heavy, but if you want solid you do need the weight to keep it solid and stable.
It’s also big. That helps with stability.
All the movements, pan, tilt, rotate are super smooth and fluid. If you’re actually filming video and moving the camera you’ll get silky smooth motion. I think it’s incredible – I’ve never had this kind of tripod before so I’m very impressed with how good it is.
I did have a problem with the camera mounting screws missing, but the vendor sorted the problem for me very very quickly – full marks to the support department.
I don’t actually move my camera when filming for YouTube (mainly talking head videos) but the tilt on this means I can get the exact angle I want and lock it in super easily – no danger of it moving once locked in place. That’s very handy.
The height is more than I really need for most things, but it’s nice to have it there if you ever need it.
The case that comes with it is typical of Neewer cases. That’s to say it’s fairly strong and it does the job. Nothing special to write home about, but then it doesn’t need to be. The quality is where it belongs, in the tripod itself.
I wouldn’t like to do any hiking for filming with this over my shoulder, but fortunately that’s not the kind of shooting I do. But this thing does have some heft to it so take that into account if you’re planning to carry it around all day!
I purchased this tripod as a replacement for another one when the legs were slipping. Turns out I was able to repair the other one and the plan was to return this one, but I liked it too much. I even had the legs slip on this one as well but Neewer got a hold of me immediately and I was able to tighten the clips and have had zero problems. So I decided to keep both tripods but this one is my go-to because of the 17 pounds weight limit I feel more secure with my camera on top of this one and it’s great for filming cooking content. I highly recommend this tripod for anyone who is looking to get one for their camera.
I got sent this Neewer tripod to review, I normally use a Sachtler tripod worth 3000, so I need to remind myself that I shouldn’t compare it to that, so I’m trying to write this as a review for people looking for a first tripod!
This tripod is surprisingly solid, it’s fairly heavy, comes in a nice carry bag, and has a spreader, a bowl head (70mm) for quick leveling, and adjustable tilt and pan drag. The load capacity is 8KG so it’s suitable for small up to larger cinema cameras. There’s no counterbalance though so if you are using heavier cameras you’ll need to keep your hand on it when you’re tilting as it won’t hold position. The tripod goes super high too, which is really nice.
The tripod head isn’t the most smooth thing in the world though. It does have a fluid drag system as I mentioned, but it’s nothing compared with a more expensive Manfrotto head or a Sachtler head. The main advantage of the Neewer one is the affordable price, but you’ll get something a lot smoother if you spend a bit more money. If you operate really well you can still get smooth shots, but the tripod doesn’t help you in the way an expensive one would!
So, I think it’s an okay option if you’re looking for a first tripod and want something that’s heavy duty, or if you have a tripod but want a backup one or something for multicam shoots. But if you’re getting seriously into filmmaking, I think it’s worth spending more on something better! So, four stars, it does what it’s meant to, but could be better! But still good considering how cheap it is!
If you used tripods in the past or are still using them and you get this, you will have an absolute different view at tripods.
When unboxed I was confused how big this thing is and how different it is.
An absolute beast, strong and sturdy and like from space.
It is a tripod with much more features and will allow you explore new sights. Yes, new sights as this thing is Burj Khalifa in tripod world.
I am 173cm tall and you can imagine when you have something 200cm tall next to you, you will need a small chair to use this in a full extension.
It is slightly bulkier and legs spread a lot wider than other tripods, therefore, you will need to think about having a space to transport it as well as set it up.
Neewer seems to make super good quality and useful products and I didn’t get disappointed with this product at all.
I have had cheap tripods before and they do the job, but if you come into a bit of wind or an uneven surface this can ruin a shoot. A sturdy tripod is really important especially if you are doing video or long exposure shoots. This tripod is top quality for the price and should be everything you will need for photography or video. First of all it’s sturdy, it stays still and is hard to knock over. It has some weight to it but is easy to carry around. It can adjust from low to very high and lets you position your camera at different angles which can be changed using the adjustable head. Everything is easy to setup and change and it just works. The build quality is fantastic and like the title says it’s definitely worth paying the premium for.
Neewer never fails to satisfy my every need especially when it comes to photography. I recently got their tripod stand with a 360-degree fluid drag head and it works great!
The Neewer tripod stand features of a double-tube aluminium alloy stand which makes it sturdy and durable. It has a 70mm bowl adjustment base at the bottom of the tripod head to make it adjustable and stable in every shooting environment.
Since tripod stands are commonly used by professional photographers, the stand is built with strong flip leg locks that can be conveniently loosened or locked. It can also adjust the tripod’s height from 34.6 inches to 78.7 inches. The tripod can be folded to easily to store it away or transport it. It’s only 35.8 inches when it’s folded which fits easily inside a tripod bag.
Meanwhile the tripod’s fluid head can be adjusted to 360 degrees horizontally and swing the legs outward from 70 to 90 degrees vertically. With the legs easily moved, the tripod has a built-in bubble level which ensures it balances well and securely.
The tripod has a load capacity of 17.6lbs. To make sure it doesn’t slip and continue standing securely once the camera is mounted, the stand’s foot is equipped with rubber pads.
This tripod from Neewer is one of the most well-made and easy to use item I have. I like how it comes with a bag and how heavy duty it is too. I enjoy taking outdoor photography shots while using this stand. Setting it up is very straightforward, and it uses a standard screw sized 1/4 and 3/8 threads.
Overall, I highly recommend this tripod stand from Neewer. The brand never fails to amaze me.
Let me just say WOW to my latest edition to my personal home photography addition, the
Neewer 79″/200cm Video Tripod, Heavy Duty Aluminum Alloy Camera Tripod Stand. It arrived very
quickly and as with all Neewer products, it was packaged professionally and without waste.
I am always pleased
with the Neewer commitment to smart design and using recyclable materials. Upon opening, I found all components professionally wrapped and in a secure and stylish carrying case. It is a well made and functional case that has dual carrying abilities, by hand or with the shoulder strap. The zipper is full length which allows for easy access to remove and replace the Tripod.
I am now the proud owner of several Neewer photography pieces. I am extremely impressed and pleased with my Neewer Tripod. It has so many user friendly options and the “panning” abilities really free up your hands and allow for complete rotation and filming. I am currently using it also for still photos and I find it is exceptional in this regard also. As with all Neewer products, it is universal and works perfectly with my personal camera and components. The design on this Tripod far exceed my previous purchased brands. The entire leg system is the extremely heavy duty while still being light enough to carry. The leg extensions are user friendly and open and close with a superior ease compared to my other models. The height on this is beyond compare but when it is sitting at standard level, it does not take up any extra room or space. It does not appear bulky or cumbersome and is space sensitive. It is also pleasing to look at overall. This tripod takes minutes to learn it’s functions and capabilities but serves as a high quality piece of equipment. I personally highly recommend this Neewer Tripod to anyone needing to upgrade to a better quality tripod that is affordable, well made, well designed and has great functionality.
Standing a mighty 6 and a half feet in height, and weighing just under 5Kg this tripod is no pushover.
The machining is of a good standard and the dampening on the joints are just superb, and it all comes together pretty well, the shoe is ok but its not one you would want permanently fixed to your camera because of the length but it’s perfectly fine for its purpose.
The legs are secured by a sort of nylon-fibre/ plastic, flip lock, latch. It’s good quality and looks like it will last a long time. The height when fully extended, is tall, tall enough to get over your subject and provide a more flattering angle. The tripod is definitely a studio or professional level tripod, not one for a landscape photographer, this is far too heavy to be lugging around, although it is very sturdy and will be going nowhere once up.
I would have hoped for better locking screws on the head mount, I found at times they were difficult to access where I had positioned the head, and the lever shape to them wasn’t the most convenient, that said, they done what was asked of them and secured the head where I wanted it, so it’s small beans.
Overall if you want a great professional tripod that can be adapted with a multitude of attachments
That you can buy from NEEWER, whether it’s a slider or a boom, then this is a great option, If you’re
Up and all over the fells or moors looking to get an epic sunset with just the right foreground, then get something made with carbon fibre, because this is a weight to lug around.
I highly recommend.
I was very pleasantly surprised with this tripod. It arrived in a nice quality bag and upon opening I was very happy with the quality of the materials its made from. Within 2 minutes I had the tripod setup and ready for the camera. The head has a really nice and smooth pan and tilt, ensuring smooth video. The 2m overall height of the tripod is ideal for my use and the quick release plate is easy to attach to my cameras when needed. Overall a very nice piece of equipment I will be using in my studio on a regular basis.
This is a review of the Neewer 79″/200cm Video Tripod. It comes in large cardboard box with the tripod inside its own carry bag. Inside the carry bag there is a small zipped pocket that contains the shoulder strap, a couple of Allen keys, two tripod mounting standard size screws in and 3/8 threads plus a small ‘off centre’ (for lack of other words) washer which is used to secure the mounting screws plus an instruction chart. It’s quite hefty weight-wise and comes in at just under 10 pounds or just under 5 kilos but no bad thing as the last thing you want is a tripod that blows over in the wind – don’t laugh, I have seen such moments over the years.. The main legs are made from aluminium with the other parts in a heavy duty type plastic but it does feel solid and the actual tripod is quoted as having a payload of 8 kilos. I have mounted my ‘going out’ JVC and Sony ‘stick it in yer pocket’ camcorders to give an idea of scale – see photos. The JVC fits like a glove while the Sony, being the size that it is, is rather dwarfed but it gives an idea of the scope. I initially found the fluid head, which is good, to be a bit ‘jerky’ in the panning orientation but on a look around the head found three small Allen headed adjustment screws – see photos. On having a session with one of the supplied Allen keys soon had it sorted and now it’s as smooth as silk or near to. The head itself has a good overall feel to it plus the quick release plate works well. The pan and tilt handle can be reversed – see photos – with a nice threaded nut so it wont slide out unintentionally . There is a chrome, threaded ‘dock’ on the head that the 3/8 mounting screw fits when not in use. The head is on a ‘pro type’ bowl fitting that is centred up by a knob underneath with a spirit level as a guide on the head base. I can’t think of anything negative about it: its sturdy enough, solidly made and does the job as it should.
Perfect and very heavy duty Camera tripod. Honestly overkill for my small camera but so good. Will want proper gear to make use of it.
The head moves very smoothly and has wide range of motions which means most shots are easy. The legs can move in and out easily, but lock very smoothly and easily Not cheap, but its for heavy duty camera gear which itself costs multiple x this tripod so worth it.
Neewer products always seem to delivery quality, and this heavy duty aluminium alloy tripod is no exception. This tripod can not only take loads of up to 17.6lbs/8kg, it extends from 35.8″ to 78.7″. Such a versatile piece of kit, and whether your and amateur videographer/photographer like me, or a professional I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed. Plenty of adjustability on this tripod and great for camera’s, sliders and other accessories. I will be using this primarily with a camera slider and I know this is capable of supporting that kind of weight. I do have some other tripods however they are just to basic and are not suited for this work load. What I also like about this tripod is the satisfying locking on the leg catches when you adjust the height, plus there is expansion 3/8″ hole for additional accessories. Well worth its price point in my honest opinion.
I own a couple of different tripods already, however, their designs are primarily aimed towards more use with photography whereas this heavy duty tripod, is more designed for videography.
The tripod comes with its own travel bag and I would recommend checking the pocket inside as this is where the shoulder strap is as well as the 1/4″ and 3/8″ thread required for the base plate.
Setting up was very straight-forward and I liked how the base plate locking knob can be pulled out and freely repositioned so you can still tighten it if a camera is getting in the way; this was the case for my Sony A6600. I did find the tripod legs were easily extendable by unlocking them and lifting up the tripod; though this method may get trickier with heavier payloads.
I really like the fluid head that allows smooth panning and tilting which is great for various uses for videography and panoramic photography.
When packing away the tripod in the bag, you do have to be mindful of the lever position and you may find the need of twisting it around to be able to pack it away.
As for portability: This tripod isn’t overly heavy, but it is quite bulky even when collapsed down compared to a standard tripod. If I were going for a long walk, I would choose my carbon fibre tripod with 3-axis head over this one as it’s much lighter and easier to carry.
Pros:
* Construction is very decent.
* Easy to set-up and use.
* Great range of height.
* Sturdy when in use.
* Fluid head helps deliver very smooth shots.
* Comes with carry case.
Cons:
* It’s a bulky tripod which is a compromise for having the points mentioned above.
We are a small film company (Who Killed Nelson Nutmeg / Dog Years / Future TX) and this is welcomed into our kit for making movies and taking promo stills.
Personally, as a semi-pro photographer (sports / wildlife / portraits) I have used less costly tripods but I admire this for its features and stability (but not portability – too heavy for my wildlife hikes- although it comes in a durable carry case with ability to strap up).
So far, we have been playing with, to learn how to use, and it ticks the boxes for the standards we need for our work. Lesser tripods haven’t all handled the weight of a pro camcorder or SLR with telephoto lens but this one has maintained the “lock” and not needed adjustment over the hours we tried it.
