All the ports work as advertised, and I am overall happy with the Orico Thunderbolt 3 docking station. It’s a big enough, although smallish, form factor with aluminum housing that keeps things cool unlike many other Thunderbolt/USB docking stations without needing a fan. I have never thought it got hot to the touch like some other thunderbolt 3/4 docking stations I have and have used. It’s also much lighter than I expected it to be. Overall construction is excellent. I would like to have seen some sort of rubber/silicone feet and ability to orient flat rather than just upright. You could lay on its side without the stand, but you should put some rubber/silicone feet under it. I’m sure some people may have a need for S/PDIF, but it’s really a waste of a port and space. I’d rather have a second LAN port like a 2.5GbE or HDMI port. Last, since this is a newer docking station, I don’t understand why it only has SD 2.0/TF UHS-I rather than SD 4.0 and UHS-II.

I almost returned this dock. I actually ordered another more expensive dock (from a more famous brand) to try to replace it. The experience with that dock was terrible. This lowered down my expectation to this kind of devices and I decided to have more patience to this dock and it paid off.

One of the main cons for this dock is it uses 65W power to provide 60W PD to laptop. At the same time, it has so many ports and also needs to drive 2x4K monitors. So my initial experience was not great. But things changed after I switched to a retailed version of ORICO Thunderbolt 4 cable which looks almost identical to the bundled one. It became very stable and I’ve used for 3 weeks without issues.

By the way, this dock connects to two 27″ Dell monitors, via DP and USB-c ports. I run Windows 10/11 and Linux (Ubuntu and Manjaro) on my ThinkPad X1 Carbon. All work great.

I have 2 suggestion to ORICO:

    – Use 80-100w power
    – Include a better (and longer) cable

A nice dock with very good build quality

best docking station in my opinion! it works great I’m able to connect all kind of extras and does not heat up like my previous unit.

Having gone through 2 different USB-C hubs and docks without little success, I finally caved and paid more than I wanted to.

The dock works well and worked first time. It would be nice to have a bit more charging power as my work Dell needs a bit more power not to trigger the slow charger notification. No issues with this on my personal Acer.

Ethernet transfer speeds max out at 110MB/s, can transfer to a 10Gbps NVME enclosure at over 500MB/s via one of it’s 10Gbps ports.

I did buy an extended Thunderbolt cable due to my desk layout (https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09FJCVVZQ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). Works the same as before and gives more reach.

It is recognised by the Thunderbolt software, which means it is a certified product.

I’ve been using this Docking station for 6 months now and I found it does exactly what the specs say. Good value for the price.

Utile, pratico, funziona con hd esterni, no montaggio a parete

So knnen alle Kabel stecken bleiben.
