I travel pretty light so this bag was perfect multi city trip to the US. 45 litre capacity, so probably just a weekend bag for most people but it holds a good amount of clothes it is well designed to maximize space. It is very lightweight but still feels sturdy and tough with good quality zips and overall excellent construction. There is a front pocket for keeping a passport, keys, wallet, etc and a pocket for a water bottle. The handles have a very clever design so they can be used conventionally or extended to use as shoulder straps and carried like a backpack. When full the bag was comfortable to be carried for fairly long distances through various cities from airports to accommodation.
The only negative point is that no shoulder strap was included, although there are attachment points. The backpack straps are more comfortable than a single shoulder strap but as I also had a small backpack as carry on a shoulder strap would have made life easier at times.
Overall an excellent weekend bag for the money.
Je l’ai utilis 2 fois, une fois pour un voyage de week-end and une fois pour un voyage de 6 jours, et c’tait parfait. Je l’aime le fait qu’il est facile apporter comme sac dos et qu’il est trs lger. Si vous ne devrez pas marcher beaucoup, il est plus pratique qu’un sac dos de randonne parce que le rangement et l’accessibilit des affaires est mieux. Tant mieux qu’il est facile ranger dans le placard chez moi. Trs contente. Je le recommande.

Seems well made and has a couple of outside pockets. It ‘s comfortable to carry. Would prefer it if they did a 50ltr one but 45 is ok and if it had an inside pocket, but overall a good buy if you can get it for a discounted price.

It’s super light, yet really carries alot.
I use this on airline trips and carry a heavier jacket, and even snow shoes, if the weather is bad when I land. Snacks for the flight, electronics, paperwork, etc. There’s also a handy side pocket.

This is a cleverly designed, sturdy bag incorporating three methods of carrying it about. I suspect it is these that make it a little heavy for its size.

Wears better as a back pack than a duffel surprisingly.
Needs a long shoulder strap for a duffle bag.
Biggest down side is the top collapses down if not jam packed. So it folds in on its self vs holding its shape. This is a small silly thing.
Bought on sale, so no complaints. I have used it for a week in Hawaii, and a few long weekends. I haven’t jam packed it yet. Could share with person for a weekend trip if packing light.
I gave up on Osprey after buying enough products that didnt match up to the image they were selling, whether because of false (AND STUPID!) color choices–like blue for black and green for grey–or material quality–the appearance of thick padded nylon coming back as this scrunchy wad of a bag, some of which I put holes in with there FIRST USE! I can confirm this bag is BLACK(!) as advertised and made with a good solid cushion, much like the porter series (which is a solid product). Really stands out from what, in my opinion, is the horrible design of other bags in the daylite series.
Love this duffel! It’s great for a long weekend bag, is sturdy and secure. I use it camping for my dry year and on long weekend travels.
Like any good duffel bag, the Osprey Daylite Duffle has a really strong shoulder strap with a padded handle you can velcro into place. But then it also has a rucksack or backpack option and the interchange is really quick. There’s no fumbling around or getting straps out of hidden compartments. The backpack option makes life easier when you need to go hands-free, such as when you’re holding your passport and boarding card getting ready to board the plane.
One of the things I really love about all Osprey products – and I’ve tested loads of them by now – is the quality. The handles are strong, they’re well attached, they’re wide and they’re padded. Your hands are going to be comfortable if you need to pick up the bag from the side and if anyone’s rough with your luggage during transit, the handles will still be attached by the time the journey’s over.
Overall, this bag is for weekend breaks around town and family trips on the plane. And for that, it’s perfect. It’s lightweight, really well made and pleasant to use.
I love that the Daylight is made from recycled materials although you would never guess as they seem incredibly durable and functional. I was excited to get all 3 sizes, 60L, 45L, and 30L to always have the right one for need. The 30L is great for a quick day trip or taking to the gym, the 45 is good for an overnight trip and the 60 is the perfect size for a quick weekend trip. They also nest easily for easy storage.
I’m also assured by Osprey’s guarantee to repair for free any damage or defect in the product. It is great to have the knowledge that my new favorite bag will be with me for the long term. Couldn’t be happier with Osprey as a company and these bags.
Size 30 is great as a gym bag and as an airline carry-on that easily fits under the seat in front.
This Size 40 is better for a weekend trip and to replace a small travel suitcase.
What I love about these duffel bags is the versatility while at the same time they are light weight. The bags can be used as a backpack, and folded up nice and compact.
While this series is not officially weatherproof, the fabric is pretty good at shedding rain, so I’m not worried about carrying this around during a rain storm.
The 40 size bag is going to be useful to pack inside my main airplane luggage just in case I bring home more items from the trip and need more space on the return home. Since it folds so compact, I will throw it in my main luggage all the time “just in case.”
The backpack straps also make it easier to get around the airport with lots of luggage.
This fits withing most major airlines carry-on specs, so you can easily use it as your carryon. If traveling without kids, my husband I have found that it’s much easier to travel with big backpacks vs. wheeled luggage….you can get through the airport more easily without trying to wheel around people.
I like that it has the option of backpack or carrying straps if you have another backpack you wanted to carry for your “personal item”.
Easy to stuff with clothes for a week long trip if you roll them. Also has a good amount of exterior organizing pockets for your liquids ziplock, passports, etc. that you would need quick access to.
This is an excellent duffle. It is really well made — all the zippers move well, the fabric is really sturdy, the straps are padded & well made, finger pulls on zippers make it easy to open/close & there is a lot of room. The padded straps can function as backpack straps which is great if you are on public transport or going thru an airport or train station. They are not meant for long hauling but are comfortable during travel. There is a key fob in the large front pocket.
For storing, it all folds up & is held together with the straps — nice & neat/flat.
