While I love the fit and stiffness of this item, I wish there were a few more pockets for little things. Wore this out on the trail and I have to say there was zero drag on my shoulders. It’s well balanced…I like it a lot!

Absolutely perfect fit for my smaller frame (5’5″ 110 lbs). Was able to hold so much more than I thought in this pack. Very comfortable and high quality. Can’t wait to use it on local hikes. Thus far used it for a 12 day trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable to wear. You can’t feel the weight on your shoulders with the design that moulds your body shape. Great to have 2 sizes and designed for women.

I bought this backpack for my wife. Another well thought high-quality product from Osprey. If you need a sturdy small backpack for short trips, take this one. Highly recommended.

Returning it because the hip pockets rub on my arms while hiking.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought as a day pack for my partner, not too bulky, used for carrying a waterproof jacket or fleece , compact camera and a phone , packed lunch and a drink and manages with ease, nice features like the ventilation for your back and in the shoulder straps, waist belt has a couple of pockets ideal for loose change , keys , few sweets etc , bottle pouches at the sides and trekking pole attachment to the back , very pleased with it .

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersCame in much sooner than estimated so that was awesome. I was looking for a smaller dayhike pack with a little more structure. Current one was drooping too much off my back.
I COULDN’T be happier with this bag. Everything I wanted and more. I listened to another review and saw her mention sizing up to accommodate a little more properly for a hydro bladder prn and it was a great decision. I am 5ft and 118lbs and I chose the M/L which can cinch tighter to your back and all the right places.
I’d deff say it may be more comfortable for more petite humans. Carries more than I expected a 9L would having had 15L/22L/24L in the past. Feels of good quality and great zippers (nothing to me is more annoying that terrible zippers on any hike).

    Perfect Size

    Super sac

I got this for my daughter who is very tall and very thin. She was looking for a hiking pack that would fit her proportions and still be comfortable to carry when weighted down for hiking. She is very pleased with this pack.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI bought this pack to replace my existing Osprey Tempest that I was given 5 years ago as a gift. It’s been everywhere with me and which was on its last legs. Love the brand and model. Great colour but unfortunately I’m giving 4 stars because I don’t like it as much as my previous model. Osprey have made a couple of changes they’ve moved the small pocket from the front to integrate it into the top of the rucksack. This pocket becomes harder to access when you have the water pouch full and in use. I also ordered the size s/m as I am small built and 5 ft 3 but wish I had ordered medium/large as this model fits better for hiking but the water bottle holders are higher up and slightly further in the back. I find it uncomfortable accessing the water bottles mid hike. My arms were sore the next day from overstrain. Prompt supply and delivery so would order from this supplier again. I might get the next Osprey size up next time. Downside of that online shopping is you can’t try the different sizes before you buy but Osprey remains my favourite brand for backpack they are exceptionally well put together.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m only 5’1″ and generally this causes problems with most kit.
But this rucksack is really fabulous for my size.
Tightens for the perfect fit. Very unusual. I bought the xs version.
    Fabulous.

This pack fits just right and feels so good to carry. I wish the hip belt pocket had a tiny bit more room to make the iphone fit easier, but it fits, and I almost feel guilty complaining about such a small thing given this is the daypack of my dreams. Worth.every.penny.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love it. I hike and I’m tiny, and the size and length of the back is perfect for me. Super comfortable and well thought as usual for the brand.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersLove this 9 liter pack. It is lightweight and the hip belt was the reason for the purchase. It fits 2 Nalgene water bottles perfectly and has space for a hydration bladder as well. It is a small pack and meant for day hikes. It does fit inside a 20″ carry on suitcase so it’s easy to fly with as well.

Marca ottima, probabilmente la migliore, per il trekking. Leggero, si adatta perfettamente alla schiena. La versione 9 litri contiene tutto il necessario per un trekking giornaliero. Consigliato

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersUpgraded from a multi use pack to the woman specific Osprey Tempest 9. Our group goes on day hikes and the size is perfect. It is so nice to put on a pack that is tailored to smaller shoulders and larger hips. After measuring for fit (Osprey site) I found my back length measurement straddled the XS/S and the M/L bags. The published measurements states it is a two inch difference in length between the two sizes. I went XS/S because I wanted to be sure that the top of the pack didn’t hit my head when I’m looking up at trees.

Super comfortable. Lots of straps and possible adjustments. Whistle in the sternum strap buckle! The Tempest follows the shape of your back keeping the load close to your back and that keeps your center of gravity closer to what is it without a pack. The pack doesn’t shift during activity and the side pockets don’t lose water bottles (compression straps around the pocket add a secure hold for bottles. Getting the bottle out while wearing the pack is a good stretch for the shoulder. Easiest way is to push up from the bottom of pocket until the bottle is nearly out.

I use the hydration pocket for other stuff since I prefer to use a water bottle. Side pockets on the waist strap are nice for quick snack access and for my iPhone. I have a newer SE so it’s a smaller sized iPhone. A larger phone would not fit in these pockets. I carry a Sony RX10 III in the main body along with everything else that I hike with. Great sized pack, I love mine!

Awesome pack designed for the female build!

This is a very good hiking bag. I’ve only used it once so far so will update my review in a year.

I used it for a half day hike and I would say it is just perfect for this size. I managed to fit in an Ultimate Series Thermos flask (900L), my thin pocket parka rain jacket and a packed lunch. I don’t think you’d get much more in than that.

It is very comfortable and the hip belt pockets are very convenient. One negative is that I struggled to get my phone in one of these pockets (Moto G7 Plus).

Osprey is such a good brand. I’ve owned tons of their packs over the years and every single one of them has been absolutely awesome. They have one of the best warranties on the market and they really stand behind their products. The Osprey Tempest 9 is a large capacity day pack. It specifies that it is for woman but a man could easily use it. The biostretch harness is perfect. It is so incredibly comfortable even when loaded up. It takes a lot of weight off your back which makes it comfortable to wear for long treks.

Very lightweight and well constructed, it’s perfect for hiking. It has great capacity and seems really strong. Zippers are easy to open and close. I absolutely love this Osprey Women’s Tempest 9, it is exactly what I was looking for. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis day pack is massive overkill for the sort of gentle trails my wife and I are planning to walk now the weather is finally getting warmer, but there’s just something about an ice ax attachment point that made it hard to resist.

The two big selling points here are the ice ax loop (I guess you could use it for walking poles if that’s more convenient, or even a small tripod if you’re out with your camera) and the webbing on the back to store a helmet. Other than those unusual features this is a fairly standard small hiking pack, though a standard small hiking pack from Osprey is not to be sniffed at. Like all Osprey bags this feels absolutely bulletproof despite the fact that it’s light as air. The stitching is secure throughout, and the Airscape panel on the back is fantastic for ventilation. We went on a short walk yesterday, and my wife remarked on the breeze she felt on her back even with a fully laden pack.

With a 9l capacity this bag is limited strictly to day hikes, with just enough room for a change of clothes, a little food and maybe a camera in the main compartment and water bottles in the outer stretch pockets, but that’s more than enough. The only day pack I’ve seen that comes close to matching this one on quality is my Thule, and that’s high praise indeed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis Osprey Tempest 9 is a nine-liter day pack for women. it’s small, yet packed with nice features. The bag opens at the top. It lacks a slash pocket to make things accessible at the top, though there is a zippered pocket at the top inside the main compartment. The new version of the Tempest 9 no longer has a mesh pocket across the front of the bag. That’s been replaced with stretchy webbing, probably a helpful change in allowing more weird-sized stuff to be attached. The smallness of the pack kind of limited what could fit in a fixed pocket, even with it being made of stretchable mesh.

    Nice features include:
    1) Ice axe loop on front shielded from abrasion–don’t know about the utility of this for most people…
    2) Great hiking pole loops that allow you to stow your poles easily and quickly when they’re not needed
    3) Zippered, good-sized belt pockets
    4) Stretch side pockets for water bottles
    5) Back sleeve for hydration bladder
    6) Stretch pocket on one shoulder strap

I’ve had six, or so, Ospreys over the last twenty years and every one of them has been great and lasted like iron. I have little doubt this small pack will prove to be their equal.
