Loved this pack (was smaller than I ultimately realized I wanted but that’s not its fault). Super adjustable and great fit and features. Loved the colour, too. The only flaw I could identify – and this seems to go for all Osprey packs – was the hip-belt pockets are weirdly and way too difficult to zip with one hand.

Even though it has AirSpeed backpanel with adjustable shoulder harness to fit a wide range of torso lengths, 1. none of the interval fits me. No matter how I adjust, there’s always a gap between my shoulder and the shoulder straps. I tried all heights! 2. Also, after changing the height of the shoulder harness, the hip belt becomes too high. 3. When I load my clothes n stuff, the backpack shifts when I walk.
I’m very disappointed that this bag doesn’t fit me given it’s such a good brand, great concept – adjustable torso lengths, cooling mesh for the back, a colour I like and at such a great discount. I’m sad that it doesn’t fit me : (

But I’m relieved that Amazon made the Return easy and fuss-free.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIs it the lightest 65l pack out there, probably not. However this pack held up, and offered everything needed for a 4 day thru hike on the Trans Catalina Trail. Fit my 3 liter bladder just fine. The hip pockets were wonderful for easy access to hand sanitizer, chapstick, gum, ect. The bottom compartment was the perfect size for my sleeping pad. The top pocket was great for easy access to snacks, med kit, and toiletries. Comfort wise for hauling all my gear, clothes, food etc the pack rested great on my body. The first day all the weight rested almost entirely on my shoulders. The soreness and pain when I put it on the second day was unbearable until a friend helped me discover the straps on the back that pull the pack closer to your body. Definitely play around with fit/adjustment so the pack rests comfortably. I thought I had explored all the straps but clearly this newbie has a lot to learn still. Used the rain fly on the 3rd day for a brief 40 minute rain. Access to the rain fly is easy, and it goes back in like a breeze. I am very happy with my purchase, have no doubts about the durability and lifespan of the pack. I am sure it will last me many years, looking forward to more adventures!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTook this on a trip to Mexico and it was fantastic! I was worried about the size and maybe having to check the bag, but it easily fit in the compartment above the seats, even on the Aeromexico flight using a smaller plane.

Super comfortable and adjustable (I’m 5’5″ sitting at 115lbs and I was able to adjust the pack to my bod easily). I wasn’t a fan of the non-removable frame at first, but I’ve grown to love it. My partner and I are planning some bigger hikes across Central and South America and I have full confidence this pack will do the job.

I typically pack light so if you’re a heavy packer, I’m not sure if this backpack would be big enough if you’re taking trips over two weeks long. But for me, this was large enough to handle a two week time span.

I love the compartment on the very bottom that keeps things separated, if needed. You can take the separator down if you want one big pocket.

The compartment at the top is massive and worked well to carry all the things I needed quick access to (sunglasses, chargers, headphones, a few books, etc.,). The zipper to the top compartment is kind of hidden, so I wasn’t worried about theft/security and had no issues.

I highly recommend this pack for traveling and longer hikes!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought a few backpacks in preparation for a two week trip in Hawaii and learned: your backpack needs shoulder and hip padding and many little pockets- also it’s important that it fits your torso size. I’m satisfied this backpack will minimize strain on my neck and back and keep me reasonably organized for beach camping. Just wanted to add that it kept my clothes dry without the rain cover it comes with and that it weathered airplane travel without tears or other types of damage. Sturdy and handy backpack. I recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHo testato questo zaino in 15 giorni di trekking in Islanda. Ha subito tutti gli elementi possibili, acqua, ghiaccio, vento, sabbia vulcanica e non ha mai fatto penetrare niente all’Interno. Comodo con un carico da 15 kg stato un compagno di viaggio che consiglierei a tutti.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my third osprey. I’m 5’5″ with a longer torso and athletic build. Loaded this with 34 pounds and headed out for a 138 mile 9 day hike with little experience. It was perfectly comfortable. Can you get something lighter? Sure. Can you get something with more bells and whistles? Sure. I am very happy I bought this bag. Bought some stretch cord and clips to add on a criss cross-stuff things under to hold tight or dry for the day and I was good to go.

We are taking a trip from the US to the Philippines in a few days. I know I will be hopping on several modes of transportation before arriving to my destination we will be catching Planes, Boats, Buses and taxis. I don’t want to drag a bag behind me and opted for a backpack instead. I got 40lbs of stuff in this bag with room left. I purchased a bag for checking the bag at the airport and it worked out great. It’s attractive and comfortable..

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI used this for a backpacking trip into Zion. I love how many different ways you can adjust it until it fits just right for you. The pockets on the side are big enough to carry several items in each and the sleeping bag compartment was perfect for my 0 degree Teton bag. The shoulder and hip straps have enough cushion that they weren’t digging in anywhere. I hooked a few carabiners to the front loops to hang my extra shoes and compact coat to! Very well thought out designs.

I don’t think the cost is reasonable and I wish it had more outer pockets. However I do think overall it was a good choice for a backpacking bag. It was fairly waterproof and comfortable on me.

I just got this for more of a travel bag than hiking, while I might plan a hike or car camping one day. It’s pretty big but not so big that I feel weird carrying it, that was a plus for me. However, I’m not sure how it would work for longer than weekend trips or if you were visiting a colder area of the world. I am a bad over-packer so if you are more of a minimalist packer you could probably make it work. If you are looking for your first hiking bag this might be a good choice as you get a lot for your buck and great quality.

The biggest reason I chose the Renn 65 is I have the Osprey Daylite+ that I thought I could force myself to pack lighter for weekend bus trips back to visit family. I wasn’t totally wrong but I had the Daylight+ stuffed full. I wanted to not destroy the Daylite+ with my trips back and forth so I upgraded to the Renn 65. I also like that you can attach the Daylite+ to the Renn which is actually really easy once you figure out how. If I do end up using hiking packs for trips by air or on longer/overseas trips I would likely get another backpack from Osprey. I’m very happy with Osprey’s quality!

As for weight, I think my stuff might weigh around 10-15 lbs but it feels more like only the weight of the bag on. I think I would happily walk the 2 miles from the bus station to my apartment back home. I think it would also feel the same if you have 25lb or so if traveling by air.

The only thing I wish the Renn had was a bit big side pockets or at least on the women’s version. I ended up getting an Osprey Daylite belt pack to use as a purse because my phone, coin purse, and a few purse items wouldn’t fit into them. It would have been nice to go without needing a purse while traveling on the bus. Other than that the Renn is a super nice backpack and I think I’ll love using it.

NOTE: I gave 3 stars for travel as unless you already pack like a hiker it fills up quickly. I did use a 32L compression sack and it does help but because I had two bulky items it seemed to have taken up half the bag. I did pack for the weekend last weekend for my family of 4 and fit all the items I normally did in a duffle bag I use.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersPro- This pack is the lightest i’ve found that it true to the 65 liter size and cubic inches. Many packs say 65 L but the smaller sizes are around 59-62 in reality and often heavier.
Quick torso adjustment made it simple to find the best fit while I was on trail.
I’m a smaller person and I find this pack fits me like a glove, there’s no sloppy excess movement as you climb over/under things.
Lash loop on the front and top of lid let you add cord to strap things on the outside .
Con- Sleeping bag zipper doesn’t zip smoothly due to the overall shape of the zipper. Lid has one zipper that is narrow so you can’t open the pocket wide and look in. .
Hip belt pockets are on the small side.
None of these cons are deal breakers since the over all function, fit an d comfort of the pack is fantastic. If they ever made a new Renn with extra pockets i’d definitely buy it again.

Roomy bag for backpacking. But If you have a longer torso then I suggest going with the men’s as it is a little longer body. even with the adjustable back support it sits weird for a long torso. It pulls in the shoulders a bit and leaves your shoulders sore after a long walk. But the color is amazing and I love the lifetime guarantee of the bag. Recommend for a short backpacking adventure definitely not for a long haul.

Trying this pack on versus another one in REI, this pack made the same weight load feel significantly lighter by the way it carries the wait. Fantastic price point and super comfortable for backpacking.

Took the backpack on a 11 day canoe backpacking trip in the Boundary Waters. It held up amazing, and the pack stayed super comfortable. I live the mesh backing that keeps the pack off your back as it definitely helps with cooling off your back.

Ottimo, comodissimo, schienale regolabile che grazie al distanziamento dalla schiena con una rete il sudore non passa nello zaino, la schiena rimane ben areata.
Quello che cercavo su un modello da 65 litri.

Good pack for travel or outdoor backpacking, just wish the top compartment was removable since it’s hard to store stuff in it as is. But I guess that’s what you pay the additional money for with the higher model

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersDer Rucksack hat mich whrend meiner ersten Rucksackreise nach Bali fr zwei Wochen begleitet.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis is my first backpack that I bought for myself; however, I hiked for many years. This backpack seems like its from quite durable material. The back can be well adjusted ( can change the height- I do believe it has four or five levels to offer); therefore, comfort for pretty much anybody. The raincover is included, but can be detached. You have separate compartment for sleeping bag (or other items), but if you don’t want it, you can remove the cover that separates it from the main compartment. It has a wide main compartment with water reservoir pouch. The only two things that are a bit tricky are pockets on sides and top. The side pockets are perfect for snacks or phone, but a bit further than its comfortable. I have to really reach for it. The top pocket is awesome, pretty big, however a bit tight to put hand in if you try to reach for something. Otherwise a great product for a really great price.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI had purchased another Osprey pack that was an XS however after trying this pack on that belonged to a friend I decided to get one of my own.

I used this pack for a havasupai trip which was 3 nights in the Grand Canyon. This back was perfect for the trip!

    Pros:
    – The pack sizing is adjustable so I was able to make it fit my torso correct
    – The main pack area is very large
    – The pack comes with a rain fly

    Cons:
    – limited exterior latching points
    – limited pockets, basic pack
    – The waist has limited padding

All in all this is a great pack and functions great for a 3-4 night trip. It is somewhat primitive compared to other Osprey packs but for the price it is a great option. I would recommend

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI just love this backpack. It’s great how it is designed for woman. So far I did hiking trip with all equipment as tent sleeping bags and all and everything fit perfectly. I didn’t need anything carrying outside of the tent and its designed the way that it perfectly fits on the back. I didn’t feel it’s weight that much even if carrying 20 kg (well of course I could feel it but comparing to any other backpack I have ever tried this one is the best and spread weight evenly). There is plenty of pockets (I love ones on my hips which allow me to carry most important things as money or so next to me). I’m planning many trips as hiking ones as just travelling and this backpack is just great for anything. I can easilly pack myself for longer holiday or just few days or if I’m carrying tent or whatever. Truly great purchase.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersLove this pack! The backpack keeps everything secure with a pocket on top to get immediate items. Two side pockets which were big enough to hold my white fuel canister and additional things. The pocket inside held my 2 liter water bladder perfectly. I would highly recommend this pack! Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis was perfect! I bought this for my fiance, who was taking her first (of many to come!) backpacking trip. This backpack was exceptionally easy to adjust to fit her body, and and she was able to fit everything she needed for a week in it. The mesh back panel gives the backpack superior airflow. We added a stretch cord to the front of the pack, as shown in the video, and that made it even better. I highly recommend this pack for beginner/medium level backpackers, but it’s also rugged enough to work for experienced backpackers, too. Love t!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThis is my first backpacking backpack, and I was hesitant to purchase online without being fitted by a professional. That said, I’m a petite female, and all of my research pointed toward this pack. All of the straps are easy to adjust for a perfect fit. I’ve taken it on two trips so far (albeit, car camping) and have checked it at the airport, and it’s holding up well to dirt and rain and being tossed around. The 65L is a perfect capacity, sometimes more than I need, but the pack is very comfortable on my small frame. I have yet to test it out in true backpacking conditions, but am looking forward to an opportunity to do so. No complaints yet!
