All.the features of any modern TV. Easy to setup and with Google and the remote can be voice controlled. Picture and sound are good
So got this on Saturday, so had 2 days use so far. And I can’t fault it. For 400 it was excellent value. Took 5 mins to put stand on base and connect to WiFi. The picture is excellent, I don’t use 4k so this isn’t a problem for me. Super crisp fhd display. Sound is ace, read bad reviews saying it was awful bit I barely have volume turned up and it’s more than loud enough for me.
I don’t use the inbuilt apps or anything as I stream everything through a Nvidia shield Pro.
So the remote for that controls the tv also. Automatically turns onto the correct hdmi itself.
Really nothing not to like but if you want 4k picture quality you need to spend far more than looking at a tv in this price range
Notning to dislike, it’s a Panasomic after all and they are very good value for money.
I was unsure after reading the other reviews, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the TV. It’s super simple to use and setup took minutes I only use the smart settings, so can’t comment on TV guide etc.
The picture is incredible and makes watching movies all the more enjoyable 🙂
I had to buy this at short notice when my TV packed up just before Christmas. I thought it might not be all that good, compared to some more expensive models. I was very pleasantly surprised. Picture quality is excellent, sound, too. Because of Bluetooth, I can also beam videos from my tablet to the TV and watch them on the big screen. So far, I’ve installed Pluto TV via the play store. There is a dedicated button for Netflix, YouTube and Google Play. It’s slightly complicated to play from a USB drive. You have to scroll up and right to settings, then down to apps (NOT the apps heading at the top), then select Media Player. This works very well. Very pleased with the TV.
It has automatic brightness adjustment
On low power consumption 45W
In the menu it blasts full brightness 90W consumption
Replacing old TV that was using 160W real space heate
Great value this… I bought as a bedroom tv and its fine. I wouldnt use this as a main tv, as I spend proper money on top quality for that, but as a secondary unit its fine for the money.
Poor service after I reported. I was supposed to have a call from engineer and did not. Status changed to return faulty product. The control has intermittent faults, but tv will not operate without. Should have gone to a dealer locally
This TV is really good for the price with a lot of good features. The Android OS means you can install a VPN app and watch foreign Netflix and other programs which is great. My only grumble is the backlight isn’t really uniform and you can see the brightness of the backlight die all around the edge of the picture. It’s really noticeable on a black screen but you don’t really notice while something is on.
The remote control is massive, like 1990s massive so you’ll never lose it and you could fend off an intruder with it. It could have been designed way smaller by losing the 1-9 buttons like an Apple TV or Google TV remote.
Purchased to replace a 3yr old GX series and the improvement is huge. The picture is ace with the 4k 2160p screen, goes to HDR10 with my xbox.I use bbc iplayer and my5 alot ,they are easy to get to by pressing the home button for the apps. The sound is good for a skinny TV .Had it around 2 weeks now and cannot fault this impressive TV,highly reccomended.
An excellent TV set.
Smart
An interactive interface
Amazing picture quality
Alexa compatible
Perfect as an extra large monitor too.
Tw months of daily use for a minimum of 12-14 hours a day and it’s just brilliant!!!
Highly recommended!!!
panasonic tx-43lx650b this is a good tv easy to set up and looks good it has some bad reviews but mostly good and thats why i bought this one for the price very good
This is a great entry level smart TV, complete with one year warranty. Slimline and lightweight.
The stand (provided) is easily attached using a screwdriver (not provided). This TV can also be wall mounted. Although the TV doesn’t swivel on its stand, it’s light enough to rotate the whole TV on its stand.
Out of the box, set-up was painless. There is a guide on the TV itself which is easy to follow. A more detailed manual is provided in the box if you have the time (or the desire) to read it.
Comes ready loaded with Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV, YouTube, and Amazon Prime apps. Other apps can be downloaded for free. TV has Alexa capability which is great, however I found that it was quite sensitive – for example, if a actor/actress mentions the name Alex, or even says “I’ll ask”, Alexa activates which is annoying. I switched off Alexa due to this.
There are three HDMI ports and 2 USB ports available for connecting to other devices.
Sound quality is ok and adequate for the price point. Would recommend connecting to an external sound bar or sound system.
TV comes in Samsung box and shows what’s inside. Batteries for remote control are provided.
We put this TV in the bedroom and we’re really happy with it. The quality of the image and the audio is pretty good and we had zero issues with that.
The smart features seem to work fine although usually we do not use most of them even on the living room TV.
However, the chromecast works perfectly and it’s one of the features we use all the time.
I think it’s a great TV for this price range and I would say it’s perfect for any bedroom or small living rooms.
The Panasonic 43 inch LX650 Android TV and base were simple to assemble. The setup was okay, I had issues at the wifi stage where it didn’t connect to my wifi, I ended up skipping that step after a few attempts.
During setup, I was asked if I wanted to link my Android phone, linking the phone may have made the setup process quicker but I don’t have an Android phone.
Once the setup had finish. I was on the Home Screen, I noticed that the wifi had connected even though it said it couldn’t connect on setup.
Although the remote works straight away, to get the Google Assistant button to work I had to bluetooth pair the remote to the tv. The google assistant can controls the tv, search the internet and control smart home devices that have been setup in the google home app, such as lights.
This is my first 4K tv, I found the picture to be crisp and sharp. The viewing angles were very good and the sound was great.
There were a few apps pre-loaded including Netflix and Youtube. The Play Store allows for more apps and even games to be installed.
I installed Asphalt 8 to see how well a game would work on the tv. I connected a bluetooth PlayStation 4 controller to the tv and played the game. The game functioned well on the tv, there was some judder but it was playable.
I tried loading another game and was told I did not have enough space. The tv has 4.3gb internal storage.
The tv has 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, a RF connection and something that says common interface. As well as 3.5mm headphone jack, Ethernet port, LND connector and an optical audio port.
This 43″ Smart TV came in a very robust box with polystyrene packaging that should protect it to any destination safely.
To open any large item stand the box on its end and cut all the tape on the bottom of the box, fold out the cardboard and set the box back on the floor, now all you have to do is lift the box off the contents! Easy!
We replaced our old Panasonic smart 40″ TV with this one and we were surprised at how big the differences are between the two.
The wall mounting points on the back of our old Panasonic were a 20cm square pattern on the back, on this new TV even though it is bigger, the mounting points were a 10cm square pattern, which still doesn’t really look big enough to me, be aware this may not be a simple swap over as we found out.
I was able to use my old wall bracket but because no fixing screws are included and they are half the size of the old ones so I had to drive to the local town to get what I needed.
Once up on the wall I turned it on and was completely amazed how easy it was to set up.
Most of the streaming apps are already installed and even have shortcut buttons on the remote controll.
I own an iPhone 12 but I do have the google authenticator app on it.
So when the TV asked me to go onto the app to confirm who I was and by simply pressing the right number to confirm my identity the job was as good as done! To put it simply the TV took it from there!
On our old Panasonic we had a matching Panasonic soundbar and when I first plugged this all in I connected the soundbar to the optical out on the new TV believing I would still need to be using it.
However when I had got all the channels loaded and the apps all registered and signed in and was ready to watch something I found that I couldn’t get any sound on the TV, I tried unplugging the optical lead to no avail, so I asked uncle Google!
Apparently these TV’s sometimes dont have the sound come on as several people on google have found, it is an easy fix thankfully, simply unplug the TV for 1 minute and restart it!
And now I have sound, through the TV that is not only far, far better than the old Panasonic TV but actually better than the Panasonic soundbar that I paid extra for last time!
The sound, just like the picture is fantastic, a huge improvement on the previous version.
The user interface (UI) is also very different, our old TV had to have apps loaded and several either couldn’t or wouldn’t work, it had a complicated set of home pages that were simply not needed.
This has direct access to the most popular streaming apps and also very impressive it has freeview play.
So you can look at the TV listings and stream the TV shows that you missed without having to record them, freeview play works really well and is a great step up from the old dead non responsive TV listings.
This truely is a TV for the new generation.
The picture is superb, the sound is superb, it is easy to set up and it has freeview play.
If you are not looking for a 70″ or stupidly large TV this has everything you could possibly want from the brand leader at a very reasonable price, if I counted the cost of my soundbar on top of my old TV this sells for much less than I paid years ago for my old Panosonic TV.
My partner and I are both really happy with this new TV and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!
Happy to help.
This TV is superb. It looks a lot slimmer than the one it is replacing and it looks better on the wall as it has a smaller profile. It was really easy to set up, the sound quality is brilliant and far better than the previous TV, the picture quality is excellent and the built in Google voice feature is genius. I was all snuggled down in bed and forgot I’d left the control the other side of the room, so just told Google to turn it off and it did!
For the price point this TV is excellent value – I have had more expensive TVs that have not been as good picture or sound as this one. Really pleased!
The last time I needed to buy a TV I bought an ex-display used model because that was the only way I could get a TV with 3D capability and as far as I am concerned, a TV that isn’t 3D capable isn’t worth buying. However, with four TVs in the house I still needed a TV for my bedroom where I’m not likely to watch anything in 3D, so I thought I would try this one out.
The TV comes boxed, with not very clear instructions on the box regarding how to get it out. The last Panasonic TV I bought (a beautiful 60 inch 3D plasma TV) had the outer box detach and lift over the TV, but it wasn’t so easy in this case. I ended up opening the box at the top, lifting out the stand (which is separately boxed) and then lifting the TV out in the plastic bag it’s wrapped in, with the polysterene at the bottom also lifting out. That worked out fine, but I’m not sure it’s how I was supposed to do it.
The stand is satisfyingly heavy but wasn’t too hard to screw onto the TV, though I really didn’t like having to lie the TV face down to do it. Again, both my Panasonic plasma TVs have a much better design, with the TVs slotting vertically onto their stands, which is essential because you can’t lie a plasma TV down, but is also far more comfortable a way of doing it. I would have also preferred it if the stand would allow the TV to swivel (which one of my Panasonic plasmas does) but it is fixed. I also wasn’t keen on the stickers stuck to the side of the screen as instinctually I don’t want anything touching the screen. They peeled off fine though.
Connecting the TV was very straightforward, though I did have to buy a male-to-male aerial lead because all the spares I had were male-to-female. When switched on, it took a little while to set up the TV and connect it to my wi-fi network but I had no problems at all following the on-screen instructions. The only problem I have had since is that on one occasion the wi-fi refused to work after an update and I had to turn the TV off and on at the plug to get it back – I hope that doesn’t happen too often because like all modern TVs, this one is designed to be basically left in standby all the time.
What sets this TV apart from all my other TVs is that though it has Freeview built-in, it’s designed to be an Android TV with bluetooth and much easier access to apps and catch-up features. I linked the TV to my phone and can now control it by voice, which I never tire of doing. The remote is fine and the menus aren’t too bad to navigate, though they take a bit of getting used to with some options buried a bit too deep for my liking. The very first thing I had to do was turn off the awful motion smoothing mode which is always on by default on every TV these days – I want my movies to look like movies, not video! There are a lot of calibration options so it took a while to go through these to get the picture looking the way I wanted it to. The instructions are comprehensive though, and clearly explain what every option means.
The picture is great – nice and clear and bright as you’d expect from a 4K TV. This is an LED TV however, so it can’t match the quality I get from my OLED TV which has far better black levels. I do love my plasma TVs too and find the picture on those more natural. But the picture is far superior to the last LED TV I had in the bedroom (which my wife broke by pulling out the plug while it was switched on) and still better than my existing LED TV so on that basis I have no complaints.
Sound quality is decent, I am using the TV in the bedroom so it’s fine for that location and I can always hook up a soundbar if I want as there is an optical connection at the back. The TV also has a headphone socket, which is essential for late night viewing.
The TV has two HDMI sockets and two USB sockets on the side for connecting other devices. Two HDMI inputs is a little restrictive, but I do have switchers that allow me to connect more devices if I need to so it’s not a problem. In the bedroom I just have a Blu-ray player and PS4 anyway.
I was very disappointed to find that USB sticks have to be formatted to FAT32 for the TV to read them, as this restricts the maximum file size to 4GB. That’s fine for 1080p content but very restrictive for 4K content. Most of my USB sticks are NTFS or exFAT format so I had to reformat them in order to get them to work. A couple were already FAT32 but I had to format them again using the TV itself before I could use them. Once I had reformatted my sticks though, the TV’s media player had no problem playing my files. The TV also allows USB devices to be formatted as TV storage as well as removeable storage.
Overall I am very pleased with this TV. It’s got a great range of apps and games and you are free to install more. The bluetooth functionality allows the connection of smart speakers, game controllers, keyboards etc. I never get bored of voice control. Having said that, if I was considering this as my main TV I would want a bigger TV with more inputs and the picture and sound are not the best you can buy but they are very respectable at this price point, which is what my star rating reflects.
I do however wish that manufacturers would bring 3D capability back, as that was a magical feature that really made home cinema like the actual cinema. I have three 3D TVs and I love them in a way I can never love a plain old 2D TV, no matter how many fancy features it has.
This Panasonic tv arrived in a huge box carefully packed with polystyrene edges so was well protected.
In the box you get instructions and register warranty details etc, remote with batteries, stand and tv!
The stand is super heavy and the instructions for assembling it wasn’t super clear but we soon worked out how it need to go and managed to get it assembled and screwed it on to the tv. ( it dies also have 4 wall mounted screw holes on the back)
After switching it on we found a full user guide and trouble shooting guide on the tv itself which is handy so you don’t have to search for the booklet!
It was super quick and easy to set up and connected to our wifi with no issues.
The home menu is super easy to navigate with all the usual streaming service icons so you can switch to Netflix etc at the push of a button.
The voice activation is a handy thing and connected to my Google quickly and effortlessly makes it super easy to control purely using Google so is brilliant if you loose the remote in the night or you want to control it from another room.
The picture is absolutely crystal clear and top notch quality and the sound quality is superb.
Overall it’s a great tv and does everything you could possibly need it to and more from a well know brand you can rely on!
Oh my lord!!!
I absolutely love this T V .
It was so simple to set up.
It has so many features.
But best of all the picture is sensational.
And the sound is nice and crisp.
Fantastic telly.
The TV comes with a large metal base which is really sturdy. It’s easy to fit with the included screws and simple instructions. The base has a nice brushed metal effect which gives it a premium look. It also comes with VESA holes at the back for wall mounting if that’s your thing.
Around the back it has 3x HDMI ports, 2x USB ports, aerial in, satalite in, ethernet port, optical out and 3.5mm headphone jack. All the ports are located on the left hand side when looking at the screen with the power cable on the right hand side. The power cable is quite short at 1.5 meters so if you dont have a power socket near by you will likely need an extension cable. The power cable isn’t hard wired so you could pick up a 2.5A 250v figure of 8 cable at a longer length if needed. My power socket is on the left hand side and once the cable stretched from right to left it only gave about half a metre of cable to spare.
The picture and sound quality are very good. The 4k dolby vision looks great and the sound quality is loud and clear. There are undoubtedly TVs which are better in both aspects however I’d say this TV should be more than enough for your average user. I have a 50 inch LG TV in the living room and other than the screen size I can’t tell any noticeable difference in picture or sound quality.
It has Android TV built in which is a fantastic feature. It’s incredibly easy to scroll through the menus and settings and installing apps takes seconds. All the major video streaming, music and games apps are available. You can also search the Google play store for more and directly install APKs if your more tech savvy. With Android TV you can use this TV anywhere you get WiFi. I don’t have an aerial in the bedroom, however as you can stream Netflix, iplayer, itv hub etc. I don’t need one. You can plug it in, connect it to WiFi and you’re good to go. If you do have an aerial or satalite dish connected the TV guide is handled by freeview play.
Connectivity via WiFi is straightforward which can be done by putting your WiFi password in via the remote or through your android phone. Bluetooth pairs and connects quickly and playback via a Bluetooth speaker is clear with no delay between sound and picture. I have the TV at the other end of the room so I connect it to a small Bluetooth speaker which I keep next to me in the night to keep the volume down. The remote has a built in microphone for searching and commands. You can also connect it to a Google smart speaker. I tried everything to connect it to Alexa but as far as I can see it isn’t possible. I don’t know if it’s not available in the UK or will come with an update in the future but I tried everything without getting any joy.
The remote control is easy to use. It comes with all your standard buttons and it’s easy to navigate. The built in Google assistant button is easy to use however I don’t really use it that often as if I have the remote in my hand I find it easier just to press the buttons. However the fact you can control it via a smart speaker or android phone is a really useful feature and something I use all the time. If you can’t find the remote a quick “Hey Google, set TV volume to 10” or “… Turn off TV”, “… Pause TV” etc. and it’s done. No searching for the remote or fussing about.
All in all it’s a really well made TV with all the ports you should need. It has good picture and sound quality with great features via Android TV along with comprehensive connectivity options.
I would recommend.
I Absolutely love this 43″ Panasonic TV.
It arrived well packed in it’s original box. You have to screw the tv stand to the tv, it comes with a manual and is easy to understand. I found it a bit fiddly to line up the holes that needed to be screwed but got there in the end.
The tv looks really smart, it’s light weight.
The picture and sound quality is fantastic
It was really easy to set up, you just follow the on screen instructions to set up your wifi and Google play. There are so many apps, on the menu screen everything is in one place so you can select your apps from there.
You have voice control on your remote you just pair it to your tv using Bluetooth.
This tv has so many fantastic features.
I 100% recommend this tv
