These just keep getting smarter and smarter. Pretty soon we wont even have to operate them. The steam feature was the hero of this microwave. Threw in some baby potatoes halved and some seasoned salmon (yes at the same time) use the steam method and the potatoes came out for the most part al dente but the salmon was cooked perfectly. I then quickly seared it to have a bit of crispy crunch to it but, the steam method works. The design is clean and the display is clear. Another win is the scheduling of the cook. SO good and very handy. If used well this is basically a sous chef at your disposal. Just learn all your cook times.
It a problem with seeing the icons on the buttons i,e microwave grill ect its all black
We bought this as a replacement for a previous model. This is very similar but different. We are still finding new things about it. Have tried other makes of combination and keep going back to Panasonic. Very pleased overall.
We had the previous version of this combi oven and have been really happy with it. This one is smaller and with lower watt usage so hopefully will save us some money on energy over time. Still, it is stronger on microwave than the predecessor, and steam function has more options. Combi oprions are good! The select menu and timer/start is also easier to use, with a handy chart added to stick to the wall next to the oven. The only downside we’ve noticed after the first weeks is that it takes more time to reach inside temperature on conventional cooker. Because our oven sits in a darkish corner of the kitchen I’v glued some coloured bits on to the panel (see photo) so we can find the options. Next time Panasonic ought to make this panel lit up!
Had the predecessor to this oven and loved it. So far I am really pleased with this oven and cleaning the grill is a dream compared to the older model with glass filaments. Important to wipe it out after each use and to ensure any condensation is removed, simple common sense.
I do however have one issue with the design, extremely hard to see the cooking option buttons, why on earth are they not illuminated. For this reason I have dropped it a star but otherwise, so far, it is really good.
I needed the manual close by to start with as a I learned all it can do but I now use it for so much… as a over it heats quicker than my big oven, the microwave is very powerful… I like the sensor function.
The drop down door is so easy to use…
My favourite has been exploring the combi programs… baking a cake of steam plus oven has produced fantastic results.
Did I say that I really like my new microwave.
I’m so pleased I decided to buy this microwave, yes it’s expensive, but I feel it was worth paying the extra pounds. Heating up food using the sensor setting is brilliant, you don’t have to guess on time required, it does it for. So easy to use.
This microwave arrived quickly and well packaged.
This little Gem has replaced my 15 year old stainless steel Sanyo microwave. It’s various programs are just brilliant and easy to follow.
The convection oven is great, it saves on the range cooker and just perfect if you are cooking for 1 or 2 people. Fabulous combi microwave.
I have found I now use this for most recipes and it reduces the amount of electricity I use.
Overall great value for money.
First thing is, this is BIG, you need a good sized space to keep it on the worktop.
In terms of functions it ticks all the boxes. The controls are easy to use, food heats evenly and promptly.
Replaced an old Panasonic that gave up after 10yrs. Surprisingly simple to operate, does everything, and seems to cook virtually anything. Pretty impressed so far.
Well I started cooking healthier in the last years and sometimes it gets really hard as it is challenging to find a balance. This Panasonic 4 in 1 helps so much as it makes everything fast and easy. Instructions are easy to understand and the whole process is easy to set it up and to cook. For the steamer option and for the combination option which uses steam you need to have water in the water tank. For other options you don’t. That was something not so clear on the instructions.
The unit is bigger than a microwave but smaller than an oven so it needs a little bit of space. It takes about 50cm from back to front and from left to right and then it is about 35cm high but you need to leave 25 cm on top, so it would need 55cm for that too.
The microwave heats things up quite fast and it seems it needs less time than my old microwave. For example my cup of milk heats up in one minute about to the same level compared with 1 minutes and a half of my other one.
The auto programs are easy to use, but I found that they are suitable if you want to do small portions at a time. Now if you want to do just one portion this is ok, but if like me you want to do more portions of lets say fries the auto program doesn’t let you do the second portion until it cools down. So for the second portion you can set it up in combination mode of grill and microwave and it does a great job. Also in this second setting you can have a little more than just 350g cooked at once.
The inside seems easy to clean and it also has programs for self cleaning too.
Time will tell how long this will last.
Really good alternative to just an oven or microwave as there are lots of settings.
A bit confusing to start with but there is extensive instructions and just takes a little time to get used to all of the settings.
The oven/grill settings heats up fairly quickly then it beeps and then you have to set a time.
Great so you won’t burn your food as the after the time is it will turn off the setting, it’s pretty much like setting up your normal microwave except as an oven.
Microwave setting is a bit slower than most microwaves I’ve used. So I would say to warm up the food for a little longer as the setting is not as powerful but overall it does work just needs extra time.
Really super easy to clean! My mum uses it too, and praised how easy it is to clean compared to our old microwave and oven.
The only fault so far is it’s a little loud but nothing major and won’t notice it once you’re used to it.
Overall great oven alternative as it does just as much as a normal oven and more!
This is the perfect “4-IN-1 steam combination microwave oven” perfect for me because my kitchen is small, it is great for saving space, the size is efficient and the capacity of 27 L is perfect, and great for saving energy too is compact and the design is elegant, definitely is an excellent idea.
The quality looks excellent to me and is perfectly made.
I love that you don’t need any installation at home, just need to plug in and turn it on, this is really good.
Is working extremely well and has fantastic features.
The steam cooking function is better than I expected and is great for vegetables, I really like it.
The oven is working very well too maybe is less powerful than other traditional but consumes less electricity and cooking really well,l so I am very happy about it.
The grill is excellent and the meat can get crispy very well, is great for pizzas and bread with cheese too.
Plus the oil frying function, which is useful too and I can make healthy chips now at home, so you don’t need a frier anymore.
I think is a great combination and perfect for saving space in the kitchen.
Easy to clean too, but don’t worry they come with a “special cleaning programmes using steam’ which is really good is like “melting” the grease so is less effort to remove, I tried to clean very often now that still in good condition and I don’t like the grease and dirtiness or rest of food around.
The design of the tray is really good and comfortable non-sticky.
I think is very good and the price is worthy because of the quality too, and the idea of saving space is brilliant, I totally recommend it.
I can’t express how happy I am with this product, if feels too underwhelming to call it just a microwave as it is SO much more. I could probably write quite a lot on all the features that this has, but I would be writing for quite some time as there are a lot, so I will try to summarise the best bits I have found.
Firstly, the aesthetics are perfect, it has been well designed to look sleek and elegant in any kitchen, The handle on the door works fantastically and is so much more accessible opening down rather that to the side. There is a small screen, options to select from and a dial to use with the options you select, there is also a lock feature to stop children from turning it on accidentally. The bottom of the microwave has a drip tray for capturing all the mess/oil that may be expelled, and there is a tank for steaming/cleaning. Inside there is a nice flat floor that is super easy to clean and 2 levels of rails that you can use your tray on (which is included).
There are many things you can do in this microwave from the standard microwaving, to steaming, cooking and even frying. I have given all the things a go to see how they work and they are fantastic, I have had no issues at all with ay of the features. I especially love the steaming which is a great way to cook in a healthy way. The timer feature is amazing, there have been so many times I have been out and want to schedule the oven to start cooking at a certain time, but I don’t have this feature on my standard oven, with this it is possible and works fantastically! I love that when the cooking/microwaving process is finished, it simply turns off and doesn’t give off that loud awful noise when it is finished, this was a welcomed change.
This has also given us so much more cooking space, cooking for a large number of people on special occasions such as Christmas can often be stressful with timings etc because we never have enough oven space to do everything together, now it is going to be a breeze and I am so happy at the thought of this.
I really cannot recommend this product higher, it is an incredible appliance that really is impressive all round and I cannot find a fault with, worth the investment to upgrade your kitchen/culinary experience or just to reduce the stress and hassle.
I have a tiny kitchen which is way too small for lots of electrical items, but I do like cooking a wide range of meals – this clever device is the perfect solution. It combines a microwave, grill, steamer and conventional oven in one neatly designed package. There’s enough space to cook a family meal, and it cooks really well. There are numerous presets for different meals, so you can cook things perfectly – the oven also comes with a QR code on the side, and this will lead you to a website with many more recipe ideas.
This has already been used to make a wide range of dishes – I especially like the steamer (which uses a small water well that easily slides in and out from the bottom of the oven), and I like that the combination of elements allows you to cook things perfectly. Baked potato in a microwave never usually comes out perfectly, but because the preset for this combines microwave and grill power, the potato skins come out lovely and crispy.
The oven is really easy to clean, and includes a steam clean function too, to make it even easier. This is especially perfect for small homes, holiday homes, bedsits etc, and although it carries a fairly hefty price tag, it’s worth it for the wide range of things you can cook with this.
Bigger than expected, heavy, very sturdy.
The door opens from the top, not on the side as some microwaves do, but more like a oven.
It comes with a oven tray, not suitable to be used on a microwave mode.
The instructions are very easy to understand and I could easily start using all the modes and learn how to lock it for my children because it has the safety lock as well.
I use the oven a lot, so the microwave so I am making a good use of it. Handy for not huge portions as for bigger one I use the built-in oven, instead.
You can use the oven mode, microwave, combination, defrost and cleaning mode!!
When I cook my food I usually wipe it with a cloth. I try to avoid chemicals unless the cooking left it a bit greasy.
A bit expensive but very good. I would highly recommended it.
With a toddler and a baby on way, I love things that offer versatility. I was very excited when I got his steam combination microwave oven by Panasonic! With 28 auto-programs, it did seem like a relief!
Now I don’t need to think much about what to cook. There are 4 modes to shuffle between. It has the oven, steam, microwave, and grill modes. Cooking has never been this much fun as I can experiment with recipes without dirtying utensils.
Cleaning is easy and a wipe of the cloth is all it needs.
Interestingly, my prep and cooking time has reduced. I don’t need to keep changing sides. The heat cooks food evenly. Moreover, the crispiness of the food does not make it dry!
Moist, juicy, crispy — what a combination!
Unlike others, it has a large capacity of 27L. I can fit my biggest casserole dish. Hence, it is excellent for party cooking too.
Cooking in batches is something of the past for me!
It even comes with a low-fat fry function. For the days my husband started his diet, I can easily cook his diet food in it too with very minimal oil.
All in all, an excellent produc
I apologise if this turns into a long review but this microwave does loads – I’ve loved testing it – it’s incredible! I’ll try and just keep to the best bits.
This isn’t just any microwave it’s an oven, steamer and grill all in one. The micro aspect is amazing, 1000 watts heats food fast – VERY fast! I compare it to the 800 watt I’ve been using for the past few years and can say this 1000 wipes the floor with it. ‘Wow’ comes to mind when choosing a word to describe it. Everything is heated in half the time, what took 2 minutes now takes 1 minute, but you don’t have to use the high setting! There’s an option to reduce wattage – this micro can go from high power (1000 watts) to Medium High (800watts) Medium (600 watts) Low (440 watts) Simmer (300 watts) Defrost (270 watts) Warm (100 watts) – the choice is yours. Selecting your setting is easy, just turn the dial and press select!
There’s a built in steamer for cooking all your veggies/rice/fish etc with a drip tray fitted underneath the microwave to catch excess water. Vegetables taste so much better – the flavours are much different when compared to boiling in a saucepan. Rice is at another level when steamed in this microwave, I can’t describe the difference it’s just so darn tasty (especially with soy and vegetables added!)
Realistically you don’t need an oven, steamer or grill when you have this. It’s an all-in-one with every feature being incredible in its own right. This microwave will cook anything and everything.
It’s slightly bigger in size compared to standard micros but it’s not huge and bulky looking.
The handle to open/close is across the top as you’d see on an oven so the door opening is light and easy. There’s lots of different features including a clock, timer, automatic cleaning (AMAZING!!), automatic cook or bake programming for cakes/bread etc
The user manual that’s included with the microwave has easy to follow instructions and diagrams. It also has a range of quick recipes for family dinners and cooking charts for different food types eg recommended time for jacket potato/frozen vegetables/burgers/oven chips etc etc It doesn’t feel right calling it a microwave as it’s so much more than that. If (like me!) cooking after a long day at work feels like a chore then this will absolutely change your opinion – a tasty dinner can be on the table within half hour. No waiting for an oven to preheat etc just put it in the micro and let it do it’s magic. It’s incredible.
Wow. We had our kitchen re-done about two years ago and the microwave we bought as part of the package is, well, just okay. To be fair to it, we’ve really only ever used it for re-heating, so it’s probably not a fair comparison with this Panasonic tour-de-force. I will say that the reason for ordering this oven is it has a significantly larger interior than our existing fitted microwave, and both our kids are living back home, so we needed something to cater for the family unit. The panny does it in spades.
First up, I was bit shocked when the box arrived as it was huge. I mean, just about fit through our front door kind of huge! Out of the box (which was very well packed internally to keep the microwave safe) the unit came out of the box and was still a heck of a size. In all seriousness, check the dimensions before you order as it only just fits on our counter top where it’s located.
Size aside, the microwave can do it all. So far, I’ve steamed salmon and vegetables and they both came out absolutely perfect; not soggy, not crisped. Delicious. I also did re-heat (I know, old habits die hard) a takeaway pizza using the grill feature and that also came out very nicely heated the day after. As part of a soiree we were having, the other half decided to melt some chocolate for strawberries to be dipped in and the Panasonic zapped it into the required shape in no time. So much quicker than setting up a bain-marie.
The oven is rated as 1100 watts, so you will need to be mindful of that when you are cooking. As I said with the chocolate example above, it is rapid. Be careful you don’t burn anything. The finish of the oven is also excellent, in a gloss piano black. It looks very smart on our black granite work tops.
Overall, you know if you’re in the market for a microwave, but ask yourself how much flexibility you need in your kitchen. I haven’t even scratched the surface of the features on this appliance yet, and I already know that it’s going to be a firm, overworked favourite. Absolutely top drawer, I cannot recommend this product enough.
I think it’s fair to say that I’ve never seen anything quite like this before. We used to have a microwave that also acted as a mini oven but this takes things rather further.
There are multiple functions and combinations available, but for now we’re just sticking to the basics. As an oven it’s compact, relatively efficient and fine for everyday cooking for the two of us. As a microwave it’s a bit different from our previous Kenwood model, and in fact every one we’ve owned before, in that it doesn’t have a turntable. This relatively new technology is designed to cook food faster and waste less energy by not having to rotate everything on a platter. It also means that the odd large shaped item that otherwise might not fit can be accommodated.
The grill seems to work as well as expected. And the steam function, though yet to be tested, looks like it could be a useful feature, particularly when looking at the occasional healthy cook option…
I love the contemporary design and the way the dial lights up when waiting for an input. The 27L capacity is excellent and easily enough for us for microwaving, and pretty good when using as a conventional oven too. The uncluttered interior including a flat grill and lack of a turntable, make it far easier to clean than a conventional microwave.
The instructions are pretty comprehensive but also a little complicated.
This is an expensive oven, 450 is a lot of money to spend when a standard microwave can be had for under a quarter of that cost. However, the functionality, ease of cleaning, versatility and the fact you probably have a better one than anyone else in your street, makes it well worth considering.
This is superb. It took a bit to get to know it but I love it
There are many functions on this sturdy microwave
The colour is black and it is perhaps a wee bit higher than most
To defrost you take out the tray put the item on the bottom close the door.
Touch the microwave button and then in a running script you choose defrost and click the large button
Then it comes up with the time you need just turn anti-clockwise for how long
You can cook anything like a casserole or lasagne and suchlike
I am enjoying finding about ways to cook with this
This is so different than my old one
Absolutely fantastic. I didn’t realise just how much this can do when I ordered it. I’m not the best with technology but was able to set it up fine and I can follow the instructions easy too. I like how the settings aren’t really small in size and so I can see them clearly and I really like how it does multiple things. It saves having to buy more appliances and it doesn’t take up too much space (I have a small kitchen for anyone else with one). It does get very hot after use, which is to be expected, so I’d just advise anyone with young children to be mindful of that. It is so fast at cooking and I love how my food comes out very hot. It is really easy to clean too because of how wide it is inside and that the tray etc are removable. The colour goes with most kitchens and is very smart. Overall I don’t think there is anything negative I’d say about it. I think the price is excellent considering the features and would definitely recommend it! It’s going to last years and will have plenty of use. I’ve already used it repeatedly on a daily basis and have had no problems.
Panasonic 4-IN-1 steam combination microwave oven is very heavy so you need a good solid place to have this in your kitchen. You will definitely have to read all instructions carefully to figure out how to use each cooking method.
Big 27 litre cooking space, a lot bigger than a standard microwave.
4 different cooking methods, i personally like the steam function. Makes delicious food quickly and safely.
The price tag of 450 is very steep in my option tho.
This 4 in 1 microwave oven came with a oven tray, full instructions and a label you can stick to the outside of the unit which gives you a list of pre set programmes which is super handy if you just want to use it quickly, the label also has a qr code you can scan which downloads even more instructions from the website on to on your phone/tablet or computer etc.
The unit itself is very big 27L so big enough for a family and takes up quite a bit more space then a standard microwave so you need to make sure you have enough space, you also need to check you have air flow space behind it and 25 cms clear space above it so not suitable for use under low kitchen cupboards etc.
It’s super easy to wipe clean inside with no awkward turntable. It does also have a cleaning programme you can use.
At first read the instructions seem a bit complex but I’ve been using it a few days now and I’m using it with ease. It’s super handy if your not cooking a big meal, not having to use my main oven, it cooks perfectly and quickly and easier then an oven as it’s at eye level so you can keep an eye on the food cooking. I’m sure it uses less power then my actual oven as well as it’s obviously lower wattage so better for electric bills.
The microwave function is simple to use, you can use preset programmes or choose the heat setting (3 settings) and time yourself.
It has a grill function which again is simple to use just make sure you have the oven tray on the top setting, it’s perfect for toasting and grilling sausages and meats etc.
The oven setting again is simple to use and been has a preheat option.
It also has a steam function for steaming fish meat and vegetables etc, you simply fill the drawer underneath with water and follow instructions.
There is so many programmes and functions on it, it pretty much will do everything you could possible want!
My First thinking was how can a microwave have a RRP 449.00. Next day received and was well packed in the box. This is a very heavy appliance but started cooking and then we realised how impressive this is. A 4-in-1 and with all the options of cooking and power options this is a must appliance. This does steam , grill , microwave and oven. The door does open downwards and i guess that is a safety reason to stop people hurting hands when opening the door with the steam and heat.
we used the oven part today with heat settings at 220c and the top and sides does get very hot to touch.
The design and controls looks great and controls are easy to work out and the screen gives all information you need to start.
Glass door with working lights so you can view what you are cooking is good.
Panasonic has again continue selling top quality kitchen appliances
Normally i oven bake my salmon, As microwaving it is pretty much a guarantee that it will come out overcooked with soggy skin. I have to say that this microwave impressed me, As it steams and microwaves with the added option of a grill function. My salmon comes out perfectly using the multi cook system, But it also works well with leftover pizza, Bringing it back to life, Making it soft and crispy in all the right places.
The oven is 27L, Which is ideal for me as i tend to batch cook for my family, So this takes a lot of the hassle out of the prep work and can handle feeding many mouths within a limited time space. This works especially well with my low calorie casserole recipes that need a crispy top and soft gooey centre to add extra flavour and texture to otherwise bland food.
The oven seems sturdy and the only negative i could find is the awkwardly placed microwave door, Which opens from the top down rather than sideways. This took a little getting used to, As I’m used to the doors opening from the side, But it makes sense as steam would otherwise burn your hand if you opened the door sideways. This seems to be intelligently designed to let the steam escape before your hand goes near it.
This uses a power output of 1000W, So this is much more economical to use than a conventional oven or an older microwave, Since the highest wattage for a microwave is around 16000W, This is also easy on the wallet when it comes to conserving energy.
I hope that this review has been helpful to you, Thanks.
