Bit expensive, but as my teenage boy is now having to shave each day I got him this and he’s impressed with it.

Expensive, but overall it was worth purchasing and I certainly don’t have any regrets. It’s the best shaver I’ve had.

A great shaver that gives a good close shave. Love the coloured lights that tell you whether you are pushing too hard or not hard enough. Gives a close shave and easy to clean in the pod after each shave. A great shaver all round.

Excellent shaver but make sure you purchase when it’s on offer as it’s certainly not 500 worth but is great for 200

I have tried battery shavers before but never had a good shave. For the past two years I’ve been wet shaving and tried all makes the blades are not made to last, So I bought this shaver and so far it’s great, shaving as close as a wet shave very quick results. Nice to hold thought the lights may be a gimmick but lights green when you use the right pressure works well. All round worth the money

Like the model, weight, eaiser cleaning, better design, closer shaves. Dislike the additional trimming tool on the side as it does not do anything.

Although it’s not cheap, it is certainly worth the money, giving a smooth and easy shave, even after a couple of days of stubble growth, and skated through 3 days stubble no trouble. Having colours coded for pressure is helpful to avoid pressing too hard.

I have used Philips shavers for a number of years and this was a replacement (a newer model) for another Philips Shaver Series 9000 that I had had for about 3 years (I had replaced the foils). I was happy with the previous model, but this a step up from my old shaver. I get better results quicker than before. For convenience, I can use the dry shave to get the same result I used to have to use a wet shave, although I still prefer a wet shave. If you use a wet and dry shaver, I think it would be hard to find one better than this one.

I have had Philips shavers all of my adult life and have found rotary shavers to be more sympathetic to my skin. Old razor was approaching the end of its life, so decided to get a new one, expecting the resultant shaving to be the same.
It was not! I cannot recall ever having had as close a shave as this model provides without irritation of the skin.
Really impressed irrespective of the convenient cleaning, which seems to me to be a bonus.
I would recommend to anyone that is familiar with rotary shavers.

As a long time Philishave user I pondered over this new design with its square flat edges. They flatten the skin, allowing the blades to cut more efficiently, resulting in a smoother finish. The blades can still reach up to the bottom of the nose.
The coloured lights highlight optimal pressure.
Note: Without the app it still has the full functionality of a traditional shaver.

Expensive but provides a first class shave and with the smart cleaning kit makes cleaning a simple process. A worthwhile pamper.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMost aspects of this are fantastic. However, one thing that has been overlooked/missed is the ability to shave close to the nostrils in the moustache area.

I have used Philips shavers all my life so can’t compare with other makes. However, this is the best that I have used. Produces a lovely close shave and battery is long lasting. Cleaning pod is really good but supplied fluid is expensive to replenish. Shall use pod once a week and clean dry the other times. Pressure guide is a new addition which is illuminating.

I’ve had several Philips shavers, inc a 7000 and the last 9000 type. This latest 9000 is by FAR the closest shave I’ve ever had, my skin’s still smooth at 5pm whereas it used to feel rough by mid-day. The charger base is ok but unnecessary, whereas the cleaning pod is easy to use and I use it once a week, extending it’s life enormously by tipping shavings out and rinsing them first. The display is clear and dynamic, the phone app connects but isn’t especially useful. A good buy at the black friday price.

Best electric shaver I’ve ever used, very quiet and shaves really close (as close as a blade) easy to clean with supplied cleaning pod and best of all was at a really good price on a deal

Easy to use, shaves superbly well and easy to clean but you will need patience when using the pod to clean i

I just got this with a great deal on Black Friday. I previously had the S9000 Prestiogem, the old model, which was a great shaver. I could stuck with it and replaced the cutters, I last changed them 2 years ago. But I went for this shaver as the reports were it upped the game. Just had my first shave, and it’s excellent. Was quicker than before and the unit is very nice to hold in the hand. Cleaning was easy with the cleaning stand and my purchase came with 4 cleaning cartridges in total. These shavers are not cheap, but they last well and the battery life is excellent and above all, they shave very well. I have thick even, dark stubble and it cuts through it nicely.

I couldn’t justify upgrading mine which is previous model, with this one. Why?
    1) the previous model is quiter and has rotation speed adjustment
    2) I prefer the round shaving heads on previous model
    3) the light sensor on this model will switch off if you press it too much on your skin, and once off, you cannot get the it back unless you fiddle a bit with the multi button. Again, I disagree with previous reviers as you don’t need app to disable the light as the button on the shaver can do it.

Also I disagree with previous reviwer who claimed it is impossible to get a clean shave over lips and neck. This claim is not true. This shaver gives you a very clean shave everywhere on the face and neck. You just have to press it on the skin.

The concept is sound but heads are very large making it awkward to use on some parts of the face. It is designed for large hands I think and takes some time to get used to after using an earlier 9000 series shaver. The cut has improved though and I hope that I will get used to the increased size . If you have large hands( I don’t) this could be just the tool for you.

I have always used Philips shavers but have been recently disappointed in a couple of purchases of the new format products as my had kept slipping down the handle and dislodging the heads from the main body. Since my last 9000, I never felt that the shaves were as close and clean. Having put up with this for around 3 years, I decided to try this one and am extremely happy with the purchase. It’s easy to use, gets a really close shave and the separate cleaning unit works properly. Despite the expense, it’s worth every penny and far superior to the lower end Philips shaving products.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBefore purchasing I read many reviews, positive and negative about this particular shaver and the comparisons between it and the 7000 series. Having purchased it at a much-reduced cost, I would not pay 500 for it at full price, I have to say that this represents a real step up from its predecessor. I had no problem in shaving under the nose and the upper part of the top lip. It is by far and away the cleanest, quickest and closest shave I have had with Phillips, in the 30 years I have used their electric series. What sets this model apart from its predecessor also is the cleaning POD, one minute, a real advanced step from the previous smart jet clean system. Delighted with i

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve been a dedicated wet shaver for the past 50 years. My one experience with an electric shaver was 40 years ago and it didn’t go well. My face looked like a pizza party. I thought I would never use an electric shaver again until I was diagnosed with throat cancer last month. Undergoing radio therapy meant that I could no long use a DE blade because of the damage to the platelets caused by the radiation. One nick and I could bleed to death. Not an option. This shaver gives me a baby-bum smooth shave without any nicks, irritation, or shaving pimples. It is a God send. I can’t recommend it enough!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been using Philips 3-headed electric shavers for the last 40 years. The new Series 9000 is a major step forward for the Philips 3 headed shaver. Shaving with foam, the closeness and comfort matches, or even exceeds that of a traditional wet shave, without the cuts of course. The new cleaning system is a huge boost and very effective. The cleaning system is a real step forward and not simply something invented for continuous consumables sales. So I’m very happy with this new Series 9000 – finally Philips have produced a 3 headed shaver with outstanding performance and simultaneously solved the cleaning problem. Well done to the R&D department at Philips, this new Series 9000 could be the last word in shaving. They have finally cracked it. Also does a good job on the exterior of the pinna, which is handy for us blokes-of-a-certain age. I now look forward to shaving. The pressure sensor and guided shave system is very handy to reduce skin irritation. The result is ‘smooth as a baby’s bottom’. 10/10.

5.0 out of 5 stars As close as a traditional wet shave, low irritation & excellent new cleaning system 10/10

My 30 year old Philips shaver finally stopped working and was at the time of production their best – so I decided to spend a lot on one of their top models again
Truly, the screen animations, coloured lights, extra trimmer attachment and cleaning system seem to me overkill for an already excellent product
It is a refined product yet does not feel quite as robust as the old one
Cleaning the heads is easy but the old unit still gave over 2 hours battery life and this one only 4 or five shaves before requiring recharge
The extra large head plates are good but the old system seems better – you can shave up to the hairline more accurately with the old closer together heads and the little oblong head opener button sticks out a little too much
But still an excellent shaver as soon as you get used to using i

I bought this to replace my previous Philishave which is decades old. I only selected this model as it was at a great discount. It is still expensive due to the touch-sensitive screen, flashing LEDs and complex cleaning system.

It works very well, with different coloured LED lighting to show the shaving pressure as too light, just right or too hard. I used the touch sensitive screen buttons to just show too heavy pressure. Cleaning is easy: just flip the cutters and brush clean with the supplied brush. The screen also advises the occasional use of the fancy cleaner device containing expensive cleaning solution cartridges. Unlike my previous Philishave, the shaver supplies the power. Just place the shaver, upside down, in the container and push the power button. The cleaning cycle is automatically controlled by the shaver.

The shaver has a beard clipper that replaces the shaver head and has an in-built sideburn trimmer.

The shaving performance is better than the previous shaver ever was. If I could be sure that the other Philishave models were as good at shaving, I would have saved my money.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have had 3 different Philips shavers over the years I’m 59 including the Philips prestige. This takes shaving to a different level. As close as a blade shaving. Connect to the app it’s not a gimmick. It teaches you how to put right pressure when shaving. And it works. 4mins quick shaving in a circular motion. Good god what a good shave. Well impressed. Don’t think about it, buy one. So pleased I read all info on all the Philips razers and chose the right one. Original price of this was 469 I got mine on Amazon 224 you might think expensive but well worth the money. The cleaning pod is 1st class and only takes a minute. Just leave shaver in pod for hour after to drip dry.

A good razor, but I fancy that the large pentagonal mounting in which the shaving heads are set means that there is a lot of “wasted space” in those heads – it is less easy to get to the edges of the beard area than would seem necessary. On my sample the pressure lights (blue, green, red) have packed up at less than a month’s wear, with no indication I can find on the guide as to how to rectify this. Easy enough, I suspect, when you know how!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI’ve used Phillips rotary shavers for at least 30 years now and have always been happy with them – my last one which was an earlier series 9000 model was very good until it started making a screeching noise when operating which suggested that maybe a bearing had gone in the motor. Rather than repair I decided to take advantage of a good deal on this on this one which has a few additional features including a pressure guide to indicate with a coloured light whether you are pressing too hard or softly against the skin, is also connectable to a smart phone (I haven’t bothered) and has the new smaller cleaner. These are all good and useful and generally the shaver provides a good comfortable cut. However, I find the new shape shaver head makes it very difficult to shave fully up to the nose to catch those annoying whiskers and also to accurately shave up to the sideburns as you cannot see the edge of the cutter.
