I had this watch for over two years now. I use it mainly for tracking my running, walking abs some other excersise.
Most of the time I don’t believe there amount of steps i made editorially when I do it with someone else, and the other watch only sites half, if that, of steps for the same distance.
Notification from the phone showed working one day, about 6 months into use abs no matter what you change in settings, sync , they still don’t work. I just have red line over the phone on the watch display.
The battery is very good, but again, we went for a hike last weekend, 5h later my battery was almost flat (it was on walking regime).
The watch in itself a bit bulky, I don’t ever sleep with it because if that.
I don’t know what Watch works I but next, but it won’t be Pola

I’m a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer and about to get into triathlons. I wanted a watch that tracked open water swimming with decent GPS and also monitored heart rate whilst swimming. I also didn’t want to spend a fortune as some of the Garmin triathlon/multi sport watches Cost a fortune. I thought this watch, albeit not the latest model, covered all my needs at a really reasonable price of 160. After a couple of weeks of use I am really chuffed with it. Clear and relevant info on the screens, great gps accuracy even in open water. Accurate indoor swimming lap tracking. Heart rate generally accurate apart from I notice it’s not great whilst cycling, but I use a chest strap with my cycling gps ( and you can connect a HR strap to the watch for better accuracy). Only slight niggles when I compare to my old Garmin Forerunner 35 are; not as many alarm repeats – you only get one alarm per day, and the battery life isn’t as good – 3-4 days between charges if you use it for exercise tracking regularly. Overall a brilliant watch for the price – highly recommended. Looks ok on the wrist too!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was looking for a watch to help me track my fitness throughout the week, show me notifications and control music. Also the watch has to look sleek and be comfy.

This watch really focuses on fitness, the recording of your heart rate, miles, time are all very accurate. The sleep tracking gives you a indepth review on your sleep each day which has now become a habit to check when I wake up.

This watch is not touch screen, this button controls are very easy to operate and turns out very useful when doing activities such as running, just click the bottom left button and your workout is paused.

The phone notifications is OK, they show them but you have to press a few buttons, scroll down, click on them to expand the message. Basically the function works but unless you phone is strapped to your arm, just pull your phone out.

Music control is pretty OK. It’s there and I have no complaints about it!

Screen brightness, you cannot change the screen brightness, it has a button you press to brighten the screen when needed for a few seconds. It’s a little annoying you cannot set it to high brightness all the time though.

I think this watch dominates in the fitness area and lacks some love in the smart watch area. If fitness is your goal then you’ll get along fine, if your goal is fitness and making life a little easy then maybe look at the more expensive options Polar has to offer.

I seen a lot of reviews about the app showing to much information, it has a creative dashboard which you can control to show you as much as you want. The sync time is roughly, 10-15 seconds, which was another thing that was pointed out. If your too busy to wait 10-15 seconds then I feel sorry for you.

I’m personally really enjoying the watch but I think I’m going to upgrade as I really do want some more options, touch screen controls, easy to read notifications, etc.

I recommend this watch for sports enthusiastic people only!

    My 2nd smart watch

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPolar vantage M2 has everything I wanted for daily use and to track all my preferred sports and sleep. It is very intuitive to use, has a large screen with data in nicely displayed layout. Connection with the phone is quick and stable. Battery lasts many days and recharge is very fast. And it is also very beautiful. 2 points I didn’t like too much is accuracy of pace, speed and heart rate without chest sensor. During sleep the watch can sometimes press areas of the wrist that might be discomfortable. In general, I loved the watch and strongly recommend.

I mainly use this watch as it connects to the polar H10 strap, and I can view my heart rate that way during workouts / on runs, without needing to look at my phone. Its a pretty good price compared to alternatives on the market. It seems to do much more than I need it too in reality but it works well and Im happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great product, having been on the polar system for a good few years this watch was to replace a v800 which was the top of the range when it came out.
You will read every where that the display isn’t bright enough but I honestly don’t know what people are on about as it’s fine, it’s clear to read, even under water.
GPS seems to locate in a respectable amount of time and is accurate.
Lots of info in this watch and will be more than ample for the majority of people for a lot less than other brands to get similar info.
If you were thinking about getting this watch then just do it, you won’t be disappointed.
Easily links with Strava, TrainingPeaks etc.

    Great gps watch

This multisport watch does what it says in the tin.
Multiple modes allow you to track all sorts of training from running to swimming, walking to skiing.
The in-built training plan calculator lets you plan your training year in blocks to ensure you get the most out of your sessions.
Would recommend to any athlete from beginner to pro.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will help you plan your training and keep you on track

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe watch is so beautiful, much more elegant than seen on photo (beige and gold version).
It really collects a lot of data.
The sleep data are very precise, but the steps are quite doubled. It is not a problem for me because I always have my iphone with me, but other people may find it annoying.
The hardware of the watch is pretty, but I can confirm that the screen in scarcely illuminated and the buttons non super comfortable to press (there is no click sound) but very intuitive, even during training.
The heart monitor os good (I used to have a Polar chest band).
If Polar would perfect the hardware of the watch, this would be an excellent item.

Had this watch now for over a year. Battery lasts more than a few days even when tracking a sport activity for over 8hrs. Comfortable to wear, looks good and most importantly it is accurate. (I have compared this watch to my old Garmin and Old Polar watches with HRM, Accurate). So far does exactly what is says on the box.
Sport wise I have used this in the sea for swimming and windsurfing and definitely still works as it should. Love this watch.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs a long term Garmin user, I’m struggling with adapting to the Polar suite of applications. In truth, I think I selected the Polar Vantage M2 by mistaking it for a Garmin product!
That said, I can see the in-depth benefits of the M2 and Polar application suite over a sustained period of training, so I will persevere.
I am making mistakes with my scheduling and routines but they are 100% user errors and not the product. I will make this work for me and will stay with the Polar product line from now on.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNice looking watch, GPS very accurate, measured against the same mile route I’d run for years previously with Suunto Ambit3 Run and Garmin Forerunner 205/305 watches.

If you’re using this just for running then there will be too many bells and whistles for your needs, built in by Polar to stay level with the aforementioned competition.

If you’re a runner then you’d probably be better off buying a Garmin Forerunner 245 instead.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs an athlete myself I appreciated the high level of data provided by the Polar Vantage M2. It is NOT a smart watch in the same way as an Apple Watch and if you looking for steps only, this is not the watch for you.

This is a watch for the trained athlete who uses the data to change their training habits and their long term goals as opposed to steps and phone notifications.

Super comfy, super easy to use with the Polar Flow app and I wouldn’t look back now!

I use this mainly to track rowing and kayaking sessions.
It is the best of the many Polar products I have owned.
    Picks up HRM reliably.
    Syncs to phone well
Polar app and compatibility with Strava works well
    Activity monitor is interesting.
    Good battery life.
    Easy to see in sunlight.
Gives me speed, distance covered, traning levels, cals burnt, etc – everything I need.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is my fifth polar watch…..I love Polars accuracy, user friendliness and features…I don’t like their longevity.

So far every polar I’ve owned has developed a significant problem within 1-2 years of use.. luckily Amazon are great and refund or replace each time

One time I switched to Garmin, but their interface, app, website were horrible and the GPS inaccurate.

I’d much rather stick with polar, let’s hope this one lasts!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is an upgrade from my Vantage and Polar have got the look right. I wear the watch all the time, rather than just for training, this is great as there is neat feedback on sleep and how you have recovered. The GPS and heart rate have both been accurate on my runs. The Fitspark training guide is great for training ideas and the music controls are a good addition. One of the best things is the Polar Flow app, you add the sports you regularly (choose from 100), then customise each training screen so you only look at what works for you. Then sync with the watch. You can also sync runs to Strava. It’s good value for all the features.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI really like this upgrade to the Vantage M, which I have loved using for a couple of years. The Vantage M2 looks nicer and — although it’s 5g heavier — there is no noticeable difference and, if anything, it seems slightly slimmer on my wrist. The watch face display is better, sleep data is much more detailed and the music controls are great. I use it for a range of sports (Polar Flow has so many specific sports to choose from and you can load up to 20 onto the watch at any one time). I mainly do cycling, running, bootcamp, spinning and weight training and the data and feedback is really helpful. The optical HR is also ultra-reliable.

Upgrade from brilliant M400 only because the battery died after 6 years.
    Have a few mixed feelings.
    Positives:
    – nice design with copper colour
    – quick set up
    – accurate on distance and map
    – many options and features
    – very good battery, with 24/7 HR off last for about week with 5 (8hrs) sessions
    – quickly finding a GPS signal
    – possibility of personalising screens for sessions are brilliant
    – HR monitor accurate
    Negatives:
    – Down button doesn’t want to work randomly
    – sync random problems, have to restart watch few times to connect it back to iPhone 11, just can’t see each other on occasions
    – sometimes screen spontaneously skips to different sports when trying to turn on the training
    – digits could be more apparent, M400 had much bigger and readable
    – on the lap summary can’t see the average pace for the lap
    – no option for personalisation of the lap summary screen
Watch, Polar Flow app & iPhone are always up to date.
Tried twice hard reset for above issues but remains.

I really wanted to train in different heart rate zones for running and biking. I have paired this watch with the Polar sense for very accurate HR. the watch it self gives good HR readings when sleeping or gentle exercise but as with all HR watches, not so accurate when exercising heavily and moving around a lot. computer is excellent and easy to use once you’ve played with it for a few days. gives all the data i could possibly want without making too complicated.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter having used Polar watches, a foot pod and chest strap HRM for decades, when my H7 stopped working, and fed up of having to post the watch to Polar for battery changes, I looked into wrist-HR sports watches. Lately I had been using just the Bluetooth enabled H7 with Strava on my iPhone for running, cycling and windsurfing, but the latter required that I put my phone in a waterproof pouch. Knee trouble means that I plan to do more swimming in the future, for which a phone in a pouch is not very practical. The Garmin 735XT is the most popular sports watch amongst my Strava buddies.

I initially bought a Suunto 5 but found the wrist-HR to be wildly off, the GPS was slow to sync, the watch bulky and despite the great look of the copper bevel against my black skin, it was already scratched and coming off after a week. The watch face was also only visible when it was at a specific angle and difficult to see while running, especially in the dark.

I bought the Vantage M and trialled it against the Suunto 5 before returning the latter. What I love about Polar is their first class support. The Vantage M has all the features I need, the GPS sync is quick and the watch is less bulky with a thinner strap than the Suunto. After using a Polar watch that needed a battery change every couple of years, I was worried about having to charge one every few days but a charge lasts about a week and recharge time is less than an hour, so it doesn’t feel like a chore.

Negatives of the Vantage M for me are that the wrist-HR is still not great, the watch does not sit comfortably in the right place on my wrist unless I have it uncomfortably tight, the 8 green/orange HR sensor lights are incredibly bright, and it won’t record sleep data unless you are prone for at least four hours. So I still have to use a chest strap for good HR (I upgraded the H7 to an H10) but at least I can windsurf and swim without having to carry my phone. Finally, the combined cost of the Vantage M and H10 was the same as the Suunto 5 by itself.

Phenomenal amount of data that is recording during exercise, gps works well and direct and quick syncing with strava. Nice feature is the breathing exercises to help chill out and relax

Nice looking timepiece and the data on the watch itself is very good. Has certainly inspired me to exercise more. This was kind of the point in getting it.

I have tried the cheaper versions of the Polar watches and I find that this one is the best for my needs. It tracks sleep and activity well although if you really want to get an accurate measurement of heart rate during intense exercise then you will definitely need to use a chest strap to go along side it.
Overall I would recommend the product.

Much better than watches like Apple or Garmin in my opinion. The watch is cheap (in comparison), stylish and has a great level of functionality and the battery life is usually around 3-4 days of use also.

I love the Polar Vantage M. This is my first sports watch of any kind and I’m very pleased with it. It’s comfortable to wear with amazing battery life. In terms of tracking, the data you get from the polar flow app is very insight. Being a professional athlete it has really helped me to see areas in my life where I can improve.
My one criticism, it doesn’t pick up a high heart rate. I often hit 190+ bpm when training but the watch claims I’m only reaching 160bpm. Can easily be resolved by wearing the chest strap heart monitor that syncs with the watch.
Overall, I would throughly recommended this to anyone.

This is a great sports/gps tracker linking up easily to all necessary applications and iPhone.
Informative, does what I need it to do without glitches and technical issues I’ve previously had with garmin.
Love the look of it too. There are quite a few settings on the watch to track your steps, sleep, breathing, HR and options to help you train. Not used all of them yet but easy enough to use.

Great product, screen can be hard to read at times but it does its job but I prefer my chest polar strap and phone app, as it’s easier to use and gives me more data on my supporting polar app.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn all fairness, I’ve not found a watch with OCG technology that gives me an accurate reading. More a fault on the technology not working as accurately on black skin more generally so I can’t criticise Polar for that… It’s just the way the technology is. But with an ECG chest strap, this was good to go.
But other than that, you can’t fault this watch! It gets the job done, and Polar Flow has been so useful for me in improving my running fitness. All black looks stylish in all settings, I’ve worn this with my suit and it’s very nice. Versatile no matter what I’m wearing.

My first sports tracking watch so limited knowledge but very pleased. Accuracy of gps is vastly improved from using an app on my phone. Great to have all the important information easily accessible on your wrist while running. Iv read reviews saying how inaccurate the heart monitor is. I think its widely accepted that wrist based heart monitors are not 100% accurate but it is good indication of how hard you are working. Overall very pleased with the watch i wear it constantly as it looks good as a day to day sports watch.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI nearly bought an Apple watch 3 but stayed with Polar after owning pervious watches that I loved even if they looked a bit utilitarian. They have arguably changed my life, health and fitness wise. The new Vantage M really blows me away. PROs The sleep tracking is so detailed it reads if you are stressed and suggests improvements, can sense if perhaps you are falling ill, the exercises are fantastic and helped with a night time stiff back, the screen when you are doing exercise (see outside of box) is amazing I use it mostly for cycling, the battery life is off the scale even if you use GPS its easy a week and seems to fast charge in no time. It looks great – still with a slightly big bezel and the watch display is a bit boring. It takes a of time to work out that each watch display has an option behind it and the sheer depth on information on the app and exercises but in a week or so you are up to speed. The only negative I have is that the heart rate accuracy when doing exercise can under estimate your heart rate unless you have it located exactly where it should be and tight-ish (slightly too tight for my liking) so to save a visit to Polar site a good index finger above wrist bone and tight enough that pushing both sides of strap does not lift the watch enough to see the hear rate lights. IN a nutshell take some time with this watch and follow its recommendations its excellent.

After some months of use a little update. Turn on the night time do not disturb otherwise screen will light up and wake you up when watch near your face sleeping. Second point has irritated me more. I notice when road cycling and short sprinting (circa 30 sec) up a hill absolutely full gas that sends me into the red watch shows me green until I’m over the hill and recovering. If I do this several times in a ride it underestimates effort and all the clever analysis tells me to to do more! I asked Polar and they said all optical have their flaws and buy a 80 heart rate strap like I had with my old polar F5 donkeys years ago. Thats not why I spent 200 on a smart watch with cutting edge sensors and not 25 on a cheap smart watch. The fix is that the sampling needs a “dynamic” mode that would reduce the exceptional battery life but provide a more accurate HR monitor. FINAL Bought for 53 strap and now all hr super precise. It does underestimate time in red without the strap. Should be sold as a pair.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am a keen runner training for marathons and have had the Polar FT4 and M400.

In terms of upgrade this watch is a better looking fitness watch and better battery life. The battery connection is also much better and charging is very quick. The polar flow software on PC is the same but with a few more stats – sleep, cardio load etc. (nice but in my opinion not overly essential)

If your sole aim is to get accurate heart rate from the watch, I think it this is not the watch for you. I have been on a few runs already using only the watch the heart rate varies too much to be relied upon. I haven’t been able to figure out as I have worn tight, loose, further up wrist etc – but nothing changes the inconsistency of the readings when doing a run. I think a lot depends on the shape of your wrist and the colour AND movement is a large factor, but without being an expert I’m not sure what science goes behind it. So cycling might be ok, but swimming would be very challenging) However that being said on normal everyday use it is fine and tracks the heart rate for sleep etc.

Luckily I already have a chest strap and that works fine. But being an experienced runner I run more on pace and feel and only use the chest strap on easy days to ensure that it is kept easy, so not overly bothered about all the fancy stats. I was looking at Garmin and do think their forerunner series would had been a better fit for those running fanatics and loves the stats. It might have a better wrist strap heart monitor but don’t know for sure.

However since I was already invested in Polar brand, and also was not too bothered about the wrist based heart rate and the watch looks a lot better than a lot of other watches out there, it is small upgrade in the right direction in terms of looks but Polar still needs to up their game some what in the internal hardware.

Further update on wrist heart rate – it is possible to get more consistent heart rate. The skin has to be the same tone where the sensor is going to lie ( I had a tan mark from previous watch) and it needs to be strapped quite tight (it does feel uncomfortable at first but you get used to it), so when you clench fist you can feel the pressure from the band, this is to stop the movement and make the contact with skin as flush as possible. Any gaps where light can get in affects the heart rate sensor. It is still not as accurate as chest strap, but is a compromise if heart rate is a must.

Used for almost a month, the running programme has got me back into that, alongside weights. Lost 6% body fat during momth. The hr zones i auto calibrated and do seem about right, e.g i can run for relevant times in the different zones. Seen gains on fit test and running score over that time. No way of checking accuracy though as I don’t have the chest strap. The online stuff is great too, with detailed feedback and editable sections, really useful for me as I can add weight, reps and sets onto the strength sessions. Only criticism I’d have is that the running programme sessions, that match up with fitspark sessions, do not have the same graphics on watch and instead you have to be near something to watch the video provided workout instead. I’d say you’d need to be able to use the online stuff alongside the watch to make the most of this one though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been wearing my Vantage M daily since Christmas. The gps has been very good except for one ride which was miles out. The connection to speed and cadence sensors on my bike is reliable and stable – a must for me. Heart rate seems to be fine which is also important for me. The connection to a Wattbike is way off not a major issue and quite possibly the Watt bikes failing not the watch. In use the screen is easy to read and I have customised the views to suit my needs which is pretty straight forward to do. Polar flow is a very powerful analysis tool which I like a lot – I create sessions and put them in the diary so when I’m training I just follow the instruction from the watch – this has allowed me to take a spin class while Donna the work out myself – good use of my time

Very good overall, especially at this price point. Polar software displays actionable data from the watch. However like many wrist-mounted HR monitors, its accuracy suffers in cold (a few degrees above freezing or below) weather. Sleep tracking is acceptable, but not great and sometimes doesn’t track entire nigh

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was bought for my son who is heavily into rowing and running (as training for rowing). The watch seems accurate and easy to use and the battery life is really good. I like having a choice of GNSS systems, with GLONASS and Galileo in addition to GPS. Syncs well with the Polar chest strap heart monitor to assess training load. The weak link in the system is the mobile app used to sync with the watch and give more info and easier to read charts and results.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought this watch because I wanted to be able to track my training, whilst being pushed to go further, faster and work harder. This watch has done exactly that. I have an active lifestyle but I’m not a runner, swimmer or cyclist necessarily. I spend a lot of time in the gym or hiking outdoors, I indoor climb once a week and I like the occasional run or swim to mix things up. I needed a watch as versatile as me and it’s pulled through.

    What I love:
    – It has a huge number of different sports/activities (including Les Mills classes) that it can track and allows you to load 20 onto your watch at any one time. For anything not on the list you can use “other” and still track what you’re up to.
    – For what its worth the run, swim and cycling data it collects is really impressive.
    – The training load status is really motivating. It takes a few weeks to understand your fitness regime but if you’re having a sluggish few days or you dont push hard enough during your workouts it’ll tell you that you’re not being as productive as you could be. This gives me a real boost. I’m terrified of disappointing the Polar! (Although note downside below.)
    – It monitors your training and offers suggested workouts right on your watch. It can be quite refreshing to press a couple of buttons and have a workout ready if I’m feeling a bit brain dead.
    – The app is really helpful and detailed but its even better to have a watch that doesn’t NEED the app. The majority of the information you can get from it, you can find right there on the watch (and in colour).

    Things that could be improved:
    – There is no way of the watch knowing if you’re injured or unwell. It has therefore told me I’m de-training when I’ve rested for a few days or had some less intense workouts for a week. It would be useful if there was a way to at least log the reason for the dip in training so it was accounted for when looking back.
    – The steps count seems suspiciously high. I’ve been with friends with other fitness watches and my steps appear to be much higher than theirs, despite doing the same activities. I’m not sure who’s is right and who’s is wrong though! Steps are not so important to me though so I’m not too bothered about this.
    – It’s not possible to only load some data/activities to strava or other third party sites. I like to just record my runs or hikes on strava rather than every gym class or workout, but you either link it all or none at all. This is a shame.

All in all I’ve been really impressed with this watch. I’m a female with quite small wrists and it doesn’t feel too bulky at all. It’s much more suitable for my varied fitness schedule than some of the other fitness watches out there.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI spent a while deciding which watch to buy. I took the advice of a CrossFit athlete who tracks his workouts using the watch and H10 chest sensor.
I have been delighted with the watch. It is good for day to day tracking of HR. If it is something more intense then the watch is not accurate on its own. I pair the watch with the H10 and I can see what my heart is doing throughout my workout.

The brightness was something I noticed as a negative in other people’s reviews but it hasn’t been an issue at all.

Very happy with the purchase, just wish I had bought it the year before when it was 150 on Black Friday. Never came down to that price again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad the Polar Vantage M for 3 weeks and used throughout for multi sport training – very useful to assist with training and planning. Heart rate stated on the watch can be very different to what the gym equipment indicates. Will purchase a chest strap monitor as used these before and are more accurate.
Sleep tracking also useful to aid recovery. Used the information to assist with rest and improve sleep. Polar app provides decent information.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my third generation of Polar fitness watch, having previously used the M400 then M430 for the past four years. This is a great replacement and I am happy. However, a few improvements would make it even better:
    – When I run or walk my heart rate accuracy isn’t great, about 20-30bpm higher than registering on a heart rate belt worn at the same time. Curiously it is much more accurate when cycling.
    – Enable ANT+ as Polar has already done on a couple of its belts; this would allow me to connect my Wattbike and HR belt to the watch whilst using Zwift.
    – Pool swimming seems accurate but please reduce the minimum pool length – 20m isn’t short enough.
But overall a really good watch.

I treated myself to this during the Amazon sale. I’d been considering it for a while, but went for it when the price dropped. I’m glad I did. I’ve been using the multi sport function a lot. Instead of having separate session for cycling, strength, etc. You can lump it all into on session. It links up with heart rate monitors fine and the Polar Flow app. Who doesn’t love a toy at the gym?

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe watch is really nice and it is not heavy. The presentation is ok. It comes on a box with the charger and a little manual.
I was used to have a RC3 GPS.
Pros > Got a lot of sports and you can change the way you see the time. The GPS works very quickly and you can monitor your heart rate every time. Also has a sleep meassurement.
Cons > The heart rate is not accurate. Really bad one. I was running at 4:00 per KM and my heart rate was 118 which is really very low. Also, you can not change the view of the sports. On RC3 GPS you could select what you want to see.
Anyway is a nice watch, but no accurate on the heart rate.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a GPS HRM, it works really well, is very accurate against benchmarks & pre-determined maps, for cycling, running and OW Swimming. The only issue I’ve has with it to date is it isn’t that accurate in a pool, missing a number of turns. It’s able to recognise different strokes, but not always the turn a the end of a length. This provides flawed pool swim metrics. So for example, you swim an 800 in 12:00, it records a 725 in 12:00, very different pace… Is worse when doing back / breast strokes. Other than that, it’s ace, and for 90% of what I do it’s perfect, and I can live without putting pool workouts on Strava. There may be a future software upgrade that cures it, who knows. Think it’s still better than any alternative under 500

Great watch very happy with purchase. Good upgrade after using the Polar M430. Loving the added new features it adds to the polar flow software. Classy liking and comfortable to wear. Only one minor downside the screen a bit dull inside. Outside crystal clear as is a light reflective screen. I cross train hike fell run and climb this watch suits all my needs

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBought as an upgrade to my M430 as I was getting frustrated with the limited battery life and touch screen bugs – turns out unit was faulty and I did receive a refund but I decided to keep the Vantage M.
Battery life – I only charge it once a week, which is perfect for me, as I run 5 says a week and feel like I am constantly plugged into some charger or other.
GPS – takes a little while to connect but no more than a minute, never showed an incorrect recording or map so far.
HR – wrist based heart rates are sometimes a little dodge but so far it seems to have served me well. I have manually inputted my HR zones as they were too long for peak performance and they work for me much better now.
Ease of us – menus are easy to navigate. I know there was a bit of feedback that the buttons are slippy, but I’ve never had an issue whilst running. I actually find it easier to use than my previous touch screen which disliked cold or sweaty hands!
Polar flow/cardio load – I’m an absolute data junkie and the app/desktop site is amazing for getting all my stats through on. Cardio load is really handy for monitoring your current strain.
For me it does everything I nee it to, at a cheaper price than the equivalent Garmin.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m planning a half marathon later in the year, I wanted a device that could help me train for the race, this ticked all the boxes. I set up the watch by syncing it with the Polar Flow app, when online I was able to set up a training program for the half marathon. I entered the date for my race and then my diary within the app was populated with different exercises and running goals. Some of the days were not convenient for training but I was able to move those sessions to other days.
Before starting a session, you find the corresponding exercise in the watch and hit a button to start recording. WIth the Vantage you get a colour screen dispaly that shows you feedback on your heart rate, pace, distance etc, but I found that the dispaly can be customised to suit your needs, so when running I just have the heart rate zones showing so I know which zone I should be in to get the most out of my session. I don’t like running in my glasses, and with my previous watch I struggled to see the display, but this is not an issue with the Vantage. Once you’ve finished you stop the recording and then sync the watch with the app. The level of detail and feedback within the app is great, and I can already see via the feedback analysis that I’m getting fitter as my predicted finish time is getting better. I can see even more detail by going into my Polar flow account online on my laptop, the re-live feature is particulary nice.
Some of the exercises in my diary are stretching or body resistance routines, for those I get to follow a video of a person demonstrating the exercises via the app, so I can follow in real time ensuring I get the correct form and timing -it’s like having your own personal trainer in your phone.
I don’t just enjoy running though, I like walking, swimming, bike riding and hiking too. The watch stores 20 different sport profiles, but there are many more to choose from within the app, I’d say over 100, but I’ve not tried counting them all yet.
I’m really enjoying all the features and with the recent software update I got a few more. Hopefully the training will keep me on track for a persoanl best in my half marathon.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent replacement for my Polar M430, to allow running with power via Stryd foot pod. My only major complaint, which I’m told will eventually be sorted by firmware update, is that I can’t do a manual footpod calibration – the watch insists on auto-calibrating by GPS (unless I turn GPS off). Minor complaints are the lack of power zone lock and not being able to create power-zone-based workouts. Screen is easy to read in bright equatorial sunlight. Optical heart rate sensor seems great so long as it’s worn fairly snugly.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMy background is I play Hockey on a regular basis with a club, and this year really got into running having done my first half marathon in October with a time of 1hr21. I’d just been using RunKeeper App for a rough guidance for a training regime in combination with Strava on my phone.

Having seen my friends/colleagues using GPS watches for their activities and curious to see if it will make my training life easier, I was having a look around and decided to try this Polar Vantage M. So unfortunately I have no other predecessors or other brands to compare it to but so far, having used it for around a month, I am very happy with it!

What’s new to my training is the Polar Flow and the Personal Training regime it offers with videos as well as being able to analyze my daily activities with the heart rate monitoring. The way it assesses your training load is great and keeps you motivated to try and maintain your fitness. It even has a Field Hockey tracking mode!! It’s light weight, compact and I happily wear it with some wrist sweatband coverage (for protection) when I play Hockey and seems to do a great job.

I have noted the other reviews comparing it to other GPS watches. However I can say, here is one happy customer who is hopefully utilizing it’s potential to the max. Not hugely fancy but I feel it’s ticked all my boxes.

Lightweight, compact, simple. Great addition to training and maintaining fitness..!

I got this as I’m signed up for a half marathon next easter. It’s a brilliant watch which seems to be packed full of features and the running programmes are really helpful with my training. I have used other brands of sports watches before, but this Polar is on another level. Importantly for me, I can also wear the watch for daily use — some of the brands I’ve had before are too bulky, ugly and plasticky — but this is quality. The heart rate measuring also seems to be spot on with what I’ve seen before when wearing a chest belt.
