FQA:
Q1: Why the Outdoor PTZ camera can’t track people?
A: (1) The PTZ camera itself doesn’t turn on human tracking function automatically, you need to manually call/transfer the preset number 67 to turn on human tracking, and 68 to turn it off on the APP.
(2) A friendly reminder, the camera is more inclined to detect and track people closer to the camera. If the person is too far away from the camera, the camera will not be able to sense it.
(3) It is suggested that there should not be too many distractions around the camera to affect the camera’s judgment on the human figure.
Q2: Can this WiFi PTZ camera use a poe switch?
A: Not support, this is a professional WiFi camera, its internal structure is different from POE camera, therefore, this WiFi PTZ camera can’t use POE switch.
Q3: Does the outdoor ptz camera have cruise function?
A:Support! Cruise number 1-16 preset positions,please call/transfer Preset 76, Cruise number 17-32 preset positions, please call/transfer Preset 77, Cruise number 33-48 preset positions,please call/transfer Preset 78,Cruise number 49-64 preset positions,please call/transfer Preset 79.
Q4: Does the power extension cable affect the function of the camera?
A: If your power extension cable is very long, the voltage supplied to the camera will be lower than 12V, which may make the camera unable to work normally. It is recommended to shorten the length of the power extension cable, and you can increase the length of the socket cable.
Q5: Why said it’s wireless, but it has Wires and Network Cables ? and Can this WiFi camera use 5G network?
A: (1) This is a wireless wifi camera, but it needs to be powered on to work (Package with power adapter for using). And some customers are accustomed to using a WiFi camera with a network cable, so our package is equipped with a network cable.
(2) This WiFi Camera only supports 2.4G WiFi.
Q6: Why the outdoor PTZ camera connect third-party software Blue Iris, but no video/image?
A: Please change video format of the camera to H264 first, Blue Iris only support H264.
(Kind reminder, we recommend using the official CamhiPro APP, which is 100% compatible with the camera)
Q7: Why the SD card of the camera can’t record videos?
A:First, please ensure that your SD card is normal and not damaged. Then, please do not use an SD card with too little storage space. It is recommended to use a 64GB or 128GB SD card.
Q8: Why is the WiFi camera not connecting or is connecting?
A: Firstly, while keeping the WiFi IP camera powered on, please keep the distance between the WiFi IP camera and the router not too far, and there should not be many obstacles between the two, such as multi-sided walls.
Secondly, The WiFi IP camera does not support special letters or symbols (@ # & …) in Wi-Fi SSID and Wi-Fi password. Please use standard English letters and numbers.

Excellent Rotate able and zoomable camera with excellent picture quality. I got it installed by the handy man. You can remotely access from your phone. Night vision is brilliant. Recommended.
The camera is Perfect and very effective quality. I loved how it reacts on motion and the sound of it is so real. It could be connected easily to your phone and WiFi signal. It can be viewed from anywhere in the world. The night vision is perfect i could see clear animals walking around eg fox with what they are carrying in mouth very easily. The camera is very strong and worth having one. Feel so safe and secure. Lovely.!
This is a good camera, is compact and the design looks resistant to me too.
The quality of the vision is great even in the nighttime with three-night modes of vision.
I like that is suitable for outdoor and indoor too.
They are space for a memory card too.
The motion sensor is working well too and is fast. I like it and works very well, I recommend it.
The large all- aluminium body of the P12 makes it a relatively heavy security camera, but should ensure that it outlasts smaller plastic-bodied rivals. Really, it is intended for a more professional setup, with comprehensive installation options and support. It has an optical 15X zoom lens, colour night- vision using a floodlight, and IR monochrome option. The humanoid smart detection and tracking is an advanced feature that can be used without the need for a cloud subscription. The camera can accommodate a 128Gb SD card. There’s a wired power supply. It can connect to PC programs as well as the usual phone apps.
The recommended way to set up the camera is using LAN, by connecting the supplied network cable to the router. I used the alternative method without using LAN. This went fairly smoothly. Powered up, the camera moves through its rotate and tilt limits and, after you press the Reset button it emits a loud chord as part of the WiFi pairing procedure. The CamHiPro app needs to be downloaded using the QR code in the small Quick Start booklet or by searching. We are advised to change password from admin, and this is a sensible move. There are Android and IOS versions of the app. I have not had any problems connecting to the camera. Some operations, such as viewing movies and images, can take some time. I haven’t managed to find a way to display thumbnails yet, almost essential if there are a lot of files to sift through. I’m sure it is possible, and depends on the software in use and the settings and screens being viewed.
The camera settings and positioning can be controlled through the app. I find there is a small delay in panning , tilting and zooming, which is inconvenient.
I also tried the camera with a PC program, HiP2P Client Software. This is one of those mentioned, along with Blue Iris, Alexa etc, and it should be possible to connect using most commercial programs, as well as directly in the browser using the IP address. I am still experimenting with this. There are a lot of options. Initially, I had trouble finding information on the manufacturer’s website, other than in the products for sale section. However, once I realised that this is part of the HX Wireless series, I found comprehensive support downloads.
Initial impressions are that the performance is good, and on a par with similar cameras. The live view is generally clear and sharp-looking, and the optical zoom a powerful feature. The widest field of view is not as wide as with some cameras, but the range is better. I am still trying different settings for the alarms, motion detection and night-vision etc, but the movies and images captured so far are perfectly acceptable. The camera does seem to think that a wooden post with a ball finial in the foreground is a person, and I need to find a way to disabuse it. I am testing it in the garden, trying to capture nocturnal visits from foxes and hedgehogs, and as a fully-rounded security camera, it will need fine-tuning to the particular task, but it seems free of the annoying limitations and weaknesses of cheaper cloud-bound alternatives I have tried.
I am happy to give this a provisional recommendation, but I’ll update if any issues are discovered after further testing.
use. It connects to your WiFi network, allowing you to monitor your property from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet. The 5MP resolution ensures that the images and video captured by the camera are clear and detailed.
This is a top quality camera, it’s big and solid and not descreet. Installation was pretty easy, the shell feels durable and it has faired well in bad weather so far. Image quality is fantastic, 12x zoom and motion. Definitely would recommend this security camera, there’s no extra charges for data storage either.
I love the birds in our tiny garden plus we currently have a pair of nesting blackbirds, so I was really pleased to be able to review this camera, which I set up in the garden.
I’m not hopeless with technology but neither am I a genius, but I was determined to sort this out by myself if possible, because that’s how brave I am (rolls up sleeves).
It took me a couple of goes to set up the app and link to it, but got there eventually and without too much time language.
We have it fastened to a tree outside, with the nesting area in sight. I’m hoping for shots of the fledglings at some point.
Obviously it’s also great security wise ( tiny garden, so the path and gate are also in shot).
It was straightforward to fasten, looks and feels secure. It’s obviously visible, but not glaringly so.
So far I only have shots of the birds flying back and forth, but quality looks sharp and clear.
I’m pleased with it so far.
Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.
I found this security camera really easy to set up. It comes with all the fixings needed to attach it to the wall and works well over WiFi.
I’ve tried quite a few cameras like this over the years and I must say that this one feels very well made in comparison to most.
The picture quality is excellent and I love the tracking feature which keeps the person in shot at all times. The zoom feature is also the best I’ve ever seen of any security camera.
This camera does exactly what it claims so it’s 5 stars from me
This camera has given me a good laugh, every time I watch the video. The case is solidly built, the internals are a little non-consumer friendly, but the software is something else.
When it came to opening the box, there was a pair of plastic tweezers. It turns out that when you open the SD card cover, the internals of the camera are somewhat exposed, rather than with most cameras there being a nice small slot to put the SD card in to.
I had been struggling for a bit to get the camera to not return to 0,0 when I had set it to a position. Then I remembered the comment about setting position 67 to start the AI Human tracking mode. Taking the camera to the correct position and setting the position 67 did stop the camera from wandering off where it wanted.
Unfortunately there is a flaw in the programming of the camera. Whenever it sees something like a human, it runs away. It’s a shy CCTV camera (and yes, I have pressed the button to check it is the latest firmware). Take a look at the video with the doll just taking a little stroll.
This makes me laugh so much, I am not sure how many stars I should give it right now. I am finding it difficult to concentrate on the review.
Pros:
What I have liked about this camera, is that it is capable of setting it up without a mobile phone, and without needing to connect it to the internet. Yes, there are a lot of points where the instructions state you should connect it, create accounts, but it isn’t actually required.
It is very solidly made. Some day they might make an advert with a car driving over it.
The wall mounting should be easy, there is a bracket to fix to the wall, and then you slide the camera on to it (I have not permanently fixed it yet), then screw the camera in.
There is a good size WiFi antenna attached to the camera (although there is a rubber boot in place to cover it whilst being shipped, I am not sure that it would be sufficient to be watertight if not used for WiFi).
There is a cable attached for a reset button, power input, and ethernet input. There are connection covers to improve the watertightness of them.
The camera does actually have a real focus, something that I have found missing in many of the others I have tested
The camera does support direct access through a web-service run on the camera, therefor it could actually be used as CCTV or NVR etc. (unlike many of the others that advertise such a feature, but cannot).
The app (and the web-service) are mostly functional (apart from the strange numerical set position 67 thing)
The cons.
Logical/network Security on this camera is poor. The communications are not encrypted. The camera supports upload to FTP, or email, but I don’t think it supports any of the encrypted variants.
The positioning of the ethernet connection, and the reset button could be too short towards the camera. (Similar with the supplied power supply, but I think if your camera is that far away you would be prepared to extend the cable anyway).
No encryption
It is ending up with 4 stars. If you NEED the ability to do human tracking, then this possibly isn’t for you. If you are however in need of a good CCTV camera, then this should work.
This camera has the finest quality in picture quality, sound quality , motion quality and range quality. No matter how much you zoom it gives you very best result and gives accurate picture. It can catch anything far away with motion sensor. It can turn give all the angle. Setting it up is abit tricky but it just lovely to have one. It can be controlled by phone. Loving it.!
The SVSC PTZ is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and easy to use security camera. It has a wide range of features, including pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities, as well as night vision and motion detection. It features a 15X optical zoom, auto tracking, SMP floodlight color night vision and is also, weatherproof, making it suitable for outdoor use. The camera is easy to install and use, and it provides clear and detailed images. The auto tracking feature is especially useful for keeping an eye on your property, and the night vision allows you to monitor your property even in low light conditions. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone.
This camera is designed to be used outdoors and it is waterproof rated, and whilst it isn’t the smallest unit, it does look quite smart and I think it is a great buy.
You just need to download the app listed and you can also use up to 128GB local storage (Micro SD Card NOT included). It requires mains power so this may alter where you are able to place it. The picture quality is good and it of course connects via wifi in order to be able to send alerts to the app.
SV3C PTZ WiFi Security Outdoor Camera.
The build quality and materials just feel and look premium quality.
This camera has an IP66 weather rating so is extremely weather proof.
I have only manually placed (not fixed fully in place yet, still deciding on the right spot) and tested this and the clarity is very good including the night vision.
This camera pans 355 and tilts 90 with 15 x optical zoom, so covers a large area and can zoom in quite a distance.
This also has human tracking and on a night when it detects movement it will light up and make any intruder aware they are being filmed, hopefully putting off any intruder, this is better than, for example, only having footage of someone pinching your prized bike from your shed.
This camera does way more than many cameras out there and is IMO not just domestic security but also commercial as well.
The app and WiFi connection are very simple to set up and use.
You won’t need a cloud based subscription either with this camera, simply add an SD card up to 128gb and that’s it, no monthly outlay.
Overall this is a very good security camera, built with quality materials inside and out, very pleased with it, happy to recommend.
SV3C PTZ WiFi Security Camera Outdoor 15X Optical Zoom Auto Tracking 5MP Floodlight Color Night Vision Wireless IP Cam, 2-Way Audio, Metal Shell, RTSP, FTP, SD Card Record, BlueIris, Onvif Conformant
Great value camera. Very lightweight, excellent image and sound quality.
The auto tracking I’ve found a bit temperamental, works most of the time. Might need to adjust the settings but but not a major issue. Zoom and night vision features are excellent, very clear.
Overall for the price, can’t complain. Excellent quality, would recommend.
I’ve changed my review. For the price, this camera is okay.. it does the job
This camera is the best I’ve bought feels solid not like some that feel cheap zoom is the best as well picture quality is the best I’ve had and I’ve tried alot of security cameras and contact with the seller was easy and very helpful I would recommend this seller to anyone
This is camera No 4 for me, the previous 3 all different makes stated they had ptz, non of them actually had zoom, all it meant was you could enlarge the image as with any other image by widening the screen on my mobile, and they were all above 100….after reading the reviews for this I decided to go for it and glad I did, its worth every penny, really well made, a doddle to put on the wall and the quality of the picture is first class, as for the zoom I could read the writing on a match box, found it hard to set up but too be fair I’m not good with technology, there’s 2 email addresses one in UK and the other USA, emailed them and they got back to me straight away, as it was I managed to solve the problem, absolutely over the moon with it, highly recommended
This camera is really clear day and night vision, the zoom on it is excellent I can read car registration clear even if it two streets down the road. It is straight forward to install the only problem I had was that my internet connection wasn’t connecting so I added the earthnet cable to it and it is perfect. Very happy with this make and model so far.
Well, what a difference this camera makes, had a Swann camerawhich I have now moved ,and this camera spec is very advanced stuff but so impressive to use, quality camera worth the little extra in cost
My advice.do not hesitate this camera is the bes
Great Zoom
This is the ninth cam i have had from S3VC and all work very well
I have had this SV3c 15x zoom camera, for a quit a few weeks.
It is very well built from aluminium. Comes with all the components you need to mount it.
It can be connected to your Pc via wired ethernet cable or Mobile Phone via the recommended CamHipro app.
The optical Zoom is very good, and the auto focus works great, you do get a little noise from the motors when the camera is moving, but that is to be expected.
There are three types of night vision, infrared (black and white), colour with the use of the lights built into the camera to illuminate the area, intelligent which is infrared until the camera is triggered and the built in lights illuminate to produce full colour even on the darkest of nights.
The camera will accept up to a 128gb micro-SD card, which can be used for recording 24-7 or just when the camera is triggered.
The humanoid tracking works well and keeps up with people walking past.
PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) movement is very smooth and not too fast.
I am very happy with this camera.
Helps keep you safe
You need to mains wire this bad boy
But it’s great to feel safe
Have been using this a few weeks now – so can review it honestly.
This has a metal casing – and looks like a high quality product from the box. It has some weight to it too.
3 holes is all u need to drill – to fit the bracket and hook the camera up. Really is easy peasy.
U can install an sd card so it can record – which I think is a must.
WiFi connection was easy enough to set up, the camera isn’t that far from my router but hasn’t had any WiFi problems at all.
U can set all ur alerts up thru the app, that’s easy enough. And they work perfectly.
The night vision is great quality too.
Really have no complaints with this camera – never had one before so this is my first experience of one, so can’t compare it.
Also – it has a loud siren on it too, lol. scared me first time we tried it.
We have had some rough weather here in Lancashire and the camera has worked perfectly.
If ur looking for a good, high quality image camera then u can’t go wrong with this. And u don’t need to be a handyman or tech wizz to set it up.
Would highly recommend.
So here is another of my reviews of an SV3C camera. My last was of the 20x Zoom camera which was awesome. This looks identical to this version with a slightly lower zoom (x15 compared to x20). On a tangent but I do wish SV3C would sort their model names out however, HX series etc is far too vague, I know they are in the same family but specific models is easier. I have been slowly upgrading my 720p and 1080p camera’s with newer tech and the price of this is excellent for its specs, hence the purchase.
The packaging is as normal and well protects the contents and comes with everything required (see photo). It even includes plastic tweezers for SD card insertion, which seemed rather unnecessary and I didn’t need them.
Once extracted from the packaging, the camera is substantial in size and of full metal construction. It is very similar to ones I have seen recently on tall poles at the side of dual carriageways. The lighting LED array and lense size are again considerable (see photo). This again is a substantial camera with serious capability, compared to some of the cheaper alternatives.
Having done this before, the setup is straightforward. First remove the panel (3 screws) and insert the SD card, contacts facing the printed circuit board (see photo). The panel is sealed with rubber and three screws, so no water ingress here. Next connect the LAN cable to your router and power up the Camera (making sure the rotating part is free). Then download and install my favourite mobile app, “CamHi”. You then add a camera, use the LAN search for a camera and add this. You then have to set the correct time, change the password (default is admin) and setup the wifi networks. Setting up the wifi is straightforward, you get a list of networks, choose your network (from SSID) and enter the password.
Once setup, you can power off and look at installing at your desired location.
I love the CamHi app for its simplicity. No fancy graphics, a list of camera’s and options. It has the option to setup multiple 4×4 live feed arrays which is useful to have a look about. I have used 3 other camera apps and I always come back to this one. The design of a User Interface seems simple but it seems many fail with style over substance.
Mounting the camera is great, solid and easy to do up a ladder. There is a metal base plate you mount on wall via three holes and then offer up the camera, it “hooks” down onto two of these and the third is clamped by a screw on the camera base. The attached photo, shows the base plate attached to the camera. Wifi performance was 70% on my outside location around 30m away, with a line of sight to the router.
Now the main part, what is the image like? Its a large lense and the image quality is excellent. You have the option to adjust the focus via the app and this can be required due to the zoom.
I have attached two snapshots, one at x1 zoom and one of the same shot x13. It is of one of my wifes bird-boxes but you can see the idea and difference. The image quality is superb and with the zoom, you can focus in on any one point. The pain and tilt function is also finer at full zoom, meaning you can get the location you are interested in. A nice feature so many other models omit.
The night vision has two modes, colour or normal. Colour uses large white LEDs to illuminate the area and does a impressive job but I don’t the area constanly alight. Normal mode, provides the expected Red ring which is a good deterrant and provides a monochrome image. The normal night vision is excellent for relatively close work (10m) but with such a super zoom, don’t expect it to light up 50m away at night, that would take serious lumens! I have included a night time image, if only to show off my stunning good looks.
I have an SD card inserted and use the AI detection to trigger alarms, it helps prevent false detections from rain and insects in summer. It can notify you of a detection but I quickly got bored of that but it is possible if you so desire. I also FTP triggers to a server, so images are stored away safely if need be, in case someone destroyed/removed camera. Depends on location it is in really.
So as an upgrade to a 1080p camera, I am very pleased. The other was similar in functionality but the quality and features were not close. This has a far superior image, better zoom and solidly built. Shame it wasn’t around for the price I paid for the previous model but this is the world of tech!
This is my 4th camera from SV3C – I’ve been gradually upgrading all my old cameras to theirs as they’re consistently great. They also offer great service – one of my previous SV3C cameras developed a fault a little past the 12 month warranty – they responded very quickly and offered me a replacement without question.
This one went up really easy (3 screws into the wall, hook the camera on, and 1 screw to hold it underneath). I configured it to do everything I needed within a few minutes.
I always connect mine with wired ethernet, however this one is seeing a stronger wifi signal than all my previous cameras – I’m guessing an upgrade somewhere in it.
Still no update to support SMB/CIFS so that I can store files to a NAS, but FTP works well.
I needed an extra camera for the front drive, given increase to car and house burglaries in London.
I bought this SV3C rolling CCTV camera and are pretty satisfied. I knew this brand from previous cameras I installed at the rear garden. The mobile app has been upgraded from CamHi into CamHipro, so I decided to set up my existing CCTVs there too, which I did very quickly. Through the app you can control all cameras and access the loop video recordings if you have set that option and inserted an SD card into the slot which is metallic and pretty well protected by three screws.
The camera’s body is made of solid metal, very sturdy and has a black finish which I think is more visible and serious than other models. Video quality is great at 5M (2560×1920) and the night vision is truly powerful. The set up into the outer wall was easy, as a separate metal base is provided and you can attach the camera there in 10 seconds using a screwdriver. The movement of the head is perfect and almost 365 degrees. The wireless function works perfectly via WiFi and very easy to setup in loop recording mode. There is a lot this camera offers, including motion detection alarms into your mobile or email.
Very happy with the purchase. Recommended.
I have several IP cameras in my home security setup, most of which are SV3C. I have always wanted a camera with an optical zoom function as well as pan & tilt, so when I got some Amazon vouchers from Santa I thought I’d treat myself to this camera, as I trust the SV3C brand.
First impressions were good, as it is a heavy bit of kit, and fortunately comes with a novel mounting method where all you have to do is mount a small metal plate to the wall, sit the camera on it and tighten one screw – much better than the traditional way of having the screw the base to the wall with the camera often getting in the way. Maybe a small detail, but a good start.
Setting the camera up was really easy. I don’t use the phone app, but just plug in an ethernet cable, make an IP reservation in my router for the mac address, and then use Chrome to browse to it. I did try the app and it is fine, but I prefer working on a large PC screen.
Finally, the camera. The picture quality is superb, as expected for a 5MP cam, but I was really pleased with the zoom function – it really is powerful, a pretty quick too.
I have all my cams working with Blue Iris software and this camera is fully compliant with the ONVIF functionality of Blue Iris. That means I can fully control, and automate, the pan, tilt, and zoom facilities of this camera, and the camera does a regular “patrol” of my garden fully automatically.
The only (very minor) gripe I have is that the on-screen time cannot be changed from “Year-Month-Date” to my preference which would;d be “Date-Month-Year”, but this is hardly a deal breaker.
I can’t comment on the Wi-Fi capabilities as I use a wired connection, but so far I am very pleased with my purchase.
This is a very useful camera for outdoor monitoring. I got this for use in my garden for security but also to capture what goes on with the wildlife so we’ve since discovered all sorts of activity from foxes which we were unaware of!
This is very easy to install and can take a memory card .This will trigger when it detects movement so you can check back to those key moments rather than it just capturing everything over night.
Useful to have and very easy to operate. Recommended.
Another great PTZ camera from a leading manufacturer in security SV3C .
Solid build quality the hardware is made from aluminium making it ideal for places likely to be vandalised . The action of the PTZ oozes quality , with some serious internal quality components.
As seen in the pictures the mounting bracket is also metal making this super secure .
Because of the build quality & the substantial features of this camera this can be used for commercial settings , warehouses , shops , care homes etc , equally perfect for home usage / any domestic setting .
All black casing for discrete placement.
WiFi compatible, and ethernet connection available. The WiFi antenna in particular has a fantastic range.
Features :-
Good long 3 metre power cable , extendable using an appropriate extender .
Cat 6 ethernet cable supplied .
Wall plugs & screws supplied also.
SD card compatible. Iv put a 256GB card into the unit , because this unit can use h.265/+ technology the compression of captured video with no loss of visible quality is truly outstanding . This technology also does not use as much space on the SD card.
Uses camhi / camhipro mobile software available on both Android & iOS .
You also have an option for pc monitoring via other software.
Quality of image :-
Wow simply stunning quality , CCTV cameras have come a long way over the years . SV3C are a market leader pushing the boundaries of technology. Manufacturing robust , easy to install , ease of use , quality products.
15 X optical zoom is a great feature , especially if you need to have closer surveillance, for example in a store .
Crystal clear images as usual with all SV3C cameras help to identify scenarios.
Night vision is truly stunning , the detail the camera provides is on another level . It has to be seen .
Push notifications & email notifications are available , alerting you to detection .
Useful for obvious reasons, but also if you want to check up on a elderly relative who have home care , or if your out & receive deliveries , or pets in kennels garden etc
.
Indeed I’m very happy with this camera , iv tried other brands they just do not compete at all with SV3C products .
They are simply the best in the market.
I’ve never had a security camera before, but now feel the need for added security after a spate of burglaries and catalytic converter thefts in our area, and it seems to happen every few months.
I was impressed with the quality and weight of this camera when l unboxed it, infact l thought it might need longer screws to hold the weight on the panel but it seems okay.
I had a few teething troubles setting it up, with the wifi, the app is easy enough but l had problems understanding that you need to attach it to your router with the ethernet cable first, only temporarily, but I was having difficulty finding a way to connect it, had to get hubby to help with that bit, then it connects wirelessly, l think we used the ap mode and had to reset the camera so it was compatible.
Once set up it does loads.
You can zoom in and out with it, it has motion tracking and is very bright, it also has a speaker too.
It’s a robust tough bit of kit that has given me piece of mind for home security.
This is the second Wi-Fi Camera we have purchased from SV3C and yet again we are more than pleased with its performance. It is in a robust metal casing unlike some other makes which are plastic, and as such stands up to all weather conditions. The PTZ is just perfect for covering our driveway and the zoom allows us to focus on the person in the video with detailed accuracy. The two way audio is definitely a big advantage. The infra red vision is very clear in black and white but when it detects a person the flood lights light the whole area and give a colour video recording. We have used the recommended app. on our phones, tablet and PC to view the video clips saved on the SD card. The whole thing is easy to install and set up. This will not be the last we buy as we intend to use them around the garden and have already recommended them to our friends.
I have already outdoor camera by the entrance and this one I am going to put in my garden. First of all it is quite big and looks like very serious device. I am very impressed of it zoom quality. This is just WOW.
The rotation range also very impressive – 355 horizontal and 110 vertical. It has an antenna as well for better WiFi connection.
It is quite easy to use via app and has built-in microphone and speaker. I get notification about activity right away, without delay, because my another camera has a delay like 3-4 seconds. It records mini clip and save for each action. The image is crystal clear, no complain at
Overall, this camera is not cheap, but it is amazing price for such quality.
Highly recommend i
This camera is quite simply amazing. It has so many features built in, but the ones of importance to me, include wireless connectivity, or wired Ethernet, high resolution video and stills, night or full colour vision, build in spotlight and built in speaker and microphone.
The loudspeaker is certainly loud, and will deter many. The camera is such good quality and can ‘see’ in pitch black. It can also zoom up to 14x. The video attached, shows the camera’s view of our garden set with the infrared on. Then when I want full colour, the normal enhanced vision, using the built in spotlight, will be my choice.
Set up is ridiculously easy, and is explained well in the attached book. Install the app on a phone, link to the camera and you’re ready to go. You can also connect to a PC or an Apple device. Additional features such as timed recording and motion detection are excellent. If you want to use timed record, you will need to add an SD card.
Zooming in is a cinch, but the exciting aspect of this camera, is that you can programme over 250 preset locations and zoom levels into it. This means that you can set the camera to zoom into specific areas, then, numbering each location (setting), move to that setting with ease.
You get so much for the price, that this is a definite yes from me.
I already own several cameras, so I was extremely curious to see how this one compares because it is fairly unique.
The 355 horizontal and 110 vertical rotation range of this outdoor CCTV camera helps to minimize blind spots. If within range, it has an antenna and offers a reliable WiFi connection.
I can use the app to converse back in real-time audio thanks to a built-in microphone and speaker. My device receives an immediate activity alert from it. The smartphone will record a still image in the app memory if motion or sound is detected so you may review it in the message centre. When motion or sound is detected when a micro-SD card is attached, it will record a brief video clip to be viewed in the app.
Nevertheless, overall, it offers a fantastic feature set and is a wonderful value for the money, making it highly recommended.
This is much bigger than I was expecting, 3-4 times as large as my Reolink Argus Pro cameras. This isn’t a little discrete camera but it needs the bigger housing for the added features and zoom capability etc.
Other reviewers have left detailed information about the setup and app etc so I won’t go into much detail about those. RTSP and Onvif is a good benefit for anybody looking for those features.
If you’re looking around at different cameras wondering which one/brand to go for what I will say is; this camera is good if you want something a little more advanced, if you want a consumer friendly out of the box simple setup others may be better for you.
Looking at it another way; if you live in an average sized semi detached property and want a camera to cover your front door or driveway etc this camera is probably too much. If you live in a large detached property, somewhere rural or want a camera to cover a commercial premises then this is probably a better fit.
All my opinion of course, others may disagree.
The camera arrived quickly and securly. Heavy box, sturdy look and feel of the device.
Easy to connect to with Wifi and LAN connection (mobile and laptop). Wanted to try this with the 15 times zoom as have a previous model IP Camera (which worked very well but would like to be able to zoom). The CamHiPro app worked very well to control and access the camera.
I also wanted to connect to RTSP via VMix and had an issue. However logging into the camera at 192.168.1.75 gave me access to the Video settings and set to H264 instead of H265.
The attached video taken from RTSP connection and Vmix, shows a scene from inside my house, through a window (hence some reflections). It shows a very clear scene of a car and then zooms out showing the distance perspective. Will improve when the camera is situated outside.
All in all looking very good. It seems a veryb sturdy camera and should be good outside in the elements.
I’ll follow this video up with another later at a football match as I want to monitor the goal area (unable to do at moment as match was postponed at the weekend)
Have not tested the night zoom but will follow up again.
Over the last few years I’ve collected quite the collection of security cameras, either ones I’ve purchased myself or those that I’ve had on test such as this. Few of the ones I’ve had on test I would have gone out and purchased myself, but the SV3C makes a very good argument for dipping my hand in my wallet.
The camera comes in a box along with power cable, ethernet cable, removable antenea, fixings and instructions. You’ll need to supply your own memory card. The camera itself is very solid and feels well made. You get a fair length of power cable, however I would have preferred a much longer length. Assuming you’re going to be putting this outside you’re going to need a power source quite close. If you have an outdoor power socket you may need to check that it’ll fit inside the socket and remain waterproof. My Swann CCTV system uses BNC cables that can come in some huge lengths which are more suitable to outdoor cameras.
Also, before you do mount your camera in its finished location, you’ll need to connect it to your router with the included ethernet cable first. Only temporarily, but I was unable to find any way to connect it wirelessly until I’d first connected physically. That was a bit awkward for my application, and I do admit to giving up the first time I went to set it up. I had to come back another day in a different mind set (I’d been outside in sub-zero temperatures with a camera refusing to do anything!). The instructions tell you to scan a QR code, or enter the UID number, none of which exist or will do until you’ve connected by ethernet cable.
But, once it’s connected, you can then go to wifi if you choose. You’ll need to download an app to set the camera up and then operate it. It’s called CamHiPro and has fairly middle of the road reviews, but in fairness it’s an okay app. It allows you to full control the Pan / Tilt / Zoom function either by swiping the screen or by using the on-screen controls. You can set up location points (over 200 of them if necessary) to allow you to quickly return to a certain point. I couldn’t see how to set up a motion trail though, which is a common feature of PTZ cameras.
The footage from the camera is pretty decent as security cameras go. Not quite as good as my current Swann system, but better than all of the cameras I’ve tested over the last 24 months. You’ll want to get yourself a decent memory card to review recordings. The app will allow you to set up alarms and what to do with those alarms. The speed at which the camera moves around is a touch slow, and I felt that I was losing quality when zooming in, almost as though it was a digital zoom rather than an optical zoom, but I could hear the device moving to suggest it really was optical.
Overall I think the camera is very good, but just missing the refinements to make it a five star product. It’s quite expensive for a stand-alone camera, but it does give you much more functionality than most outdoor cameras. Very few are Pan and Tilt, let alone Pan, Tilt and Zoom. It’s well made, it doesn’t have a dome over the camera which could lead to condensations so I like that, and the app is pretty decent. It’s worth a look.
This camera arrived in its own branded cardboard box. Inside, the contents are held in dense, custom moulded foam to protect them in transit.
Straight out of the box you can tell this is a quality product. It is quite heavy but this is because it is an all metal construction with both the camera body and mounting arm being made of aluminium.
The box contains:
* The camera.
* Antenna.
* UK 3 pin 12V 2A power supply with 3m cable.
* Ethernet cable (120cm).
* Waterproof cover for ethernet connector.
* Screws/plugs for mounting.
* Mounting guide.
* Presets guide.
* Quick start guide.
The camera has a metal mounting plate that can be screwed to a wall or post. The camera then hooks onto this plate and locks in place with a screw at the bottom of the mount, so you don’t have to screw the whole assembly to the wall as you do with some other cameras (see pictures). The camera has a 40cm cable attached which terminates in the female barrel power socket, a reset button and RJ45 connector (see picture). I have run this cable into a weatherproof outdoor junction box. If you want to run this cable through a wall you’ll need a hole of at least 20mm diameter as that is the diameter of the RJ45 socket.
The camera uses the ‘CamHipro’ app but when I looked at the guide the setup procedure seemed to be very similar to the ‘Ctronics’ app that I already have installed on my phone. I particularly like this app as it doesn’t ask you to register with your e-mail address or ask you for any personal information (virtually all camera apps require both). I plugged in the camera then connected my phone directly to the camera’s wifi (AP). I then launched the Ctronics app and used ‘Search Camera from Lan’. The app found the camera immediately. You can then change the camera’s password and attach it to your wifi (SSID has to be visible but you can hide it again once the camera is connected). After this, you can get the camera’s IP address from the app and then use this to log into it directly from a web browser. Once you’re in the web browser interface you have control over every aspect of the camera. There’s too much to go into here but the camera is highly configurable.
There is also the option to set up the camera with an Ethernet cable directly attached to your network.
In use both daytime and night time images are excellent. The human tracking is efficient and the camera zooms in on humans as they approach. A few seconds after the human has gone out of shot the camera returns to its original position. The camera only tracks humans and hasn’t been tracking the foxes that frequent our driveway at night. The optical zoom works well and because of the auto focus images remain clear at all magnifications (see pictures).
You can record to a local Micro SD card (not supplied) which is inserted under a screw on panel on the bottom of the camera but because this camera is fully ONVIF and RTSP compatible I’m using it to stream to an existing recording system. You can watch the RTSP stream in VLC using:
rtsp://username:[email protected]:554/11
(where username and password are the ones you have set and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the camera).
I haven’t had this camera long enough to comment on its long term performance and durability but I have now had it running for three weeks in the depths of winter without any problems. I’ll update this review if there’s anything to report.
I have reviewed a lot of CCTV cameras at various prices as part of the Amazon Vine programme and this is just about the best I’ve come across. It is sturdy, functions well, produces excellent images and is highly configurable. At 169.99 it is at the more expensive end of wireless CCTV cameras but it is worth it and I’m happy to recommend it and give it 5 stars.
List of requirements for an epic camera:
~ record to my home cloud, not only SD and external site
~ sensitive motion detection without false positives
~ good night vision (looking for badgers and wildlife in our back garden)
~ access from our PC, not just the phone.
And it’s a win on all fronts!
~ it’s nice and lightweight, so attaching it to the wall is easy (though the little plug things could do with being a bit bigger/stronger)
~ Supports ONVIF, P2P and WIFI
~ Very clear picture
~ Very clear audio
~ It seems to filter out irrelevant motion, eg, tree branches moving around
~ Excellent Zoom! Loses almost zero picture quality
A couple of additions would make it even better, though:
~ It would be very helpful to have more hints and tips, so a better manual would be ideal
~ It’s memory-hungry, so a bigger SD memory allowance would be helpful
So, all in all, this is an excellent security camera – it’s more spendy than some, but it’s a legit brand, and a legit product, so it’s highly, highly recommended.
A good camera, with everything you’d need. If you want, for example, the features of a ring doorbell but want to put the camera in a place where it would see more, for example higher up or overlooking a yard or garden, this is great.
It’s limitations are mostly the internet. Place it too far away or don’t hardwire it and it does suffer connection loss. But when it’s working fine, in good proximity to the wifi, you can speak clearly from it, view the video in crystal quality from anywhere via the app, and move it around, which has been really great if you’re using it for a back door or garden. The night vision is ok, but it’s most impressive thing is the camera quality and to be able to remotely move the camera.
Overall, pretty good and works well. The one thing I don’t like however is the app. For the price of this camera, the app is very chinese developer without it’s edges smoothed – as in, you have to be naturally quite tech savvy to understand it and forgive that it’s not quite seamless. That aside though, it’s a very impressive little camera.
This camera is awesome. Night vision is spot on, the lights are very bright too. About 1 second delay on WiFi on the PTZ and video/audio.
Tracking works well and picks up people very well too.
My only negative is that the power cable is quite short so that does limit installation unless you find a way of extending.
I have had a few of these cameras but not as good as this one. At the time of purchase this was 179.99. I think that is fairly reasonable. This camera has a flood light to ensure you get the best quality image, night vision and 15x optical zoom.
On first inspection of the camera, it is a metal camera, feels excellent quality, it feels like it would withstand the worst weather. It is black which is a good camouflage colour. It needs hard wired in so if you are unable to do so then you will need someone but it was fairly simple. The set up of it was really easy, the app was easy to download and use. You can either set it up via a network cable or wireless I opted for wireless. This has worked really well for me, I have had no interruptions with the recording quality whilst using wireless. The power cord could be a little longer however it worked fine for me.
This camera is an all round really good quality camera, the image is crystal clear and records. You can buy a high capacity SD card for extra storage if needs be (not included). It comes with everything you need, offers you the good security that you need. Really happy with this product. I think it is a superb camera for the price. I have had these cameras before and they have been plastic and not as good quality but there has definitely been an upgrade with this one.
I have had CCTV cameras at both ends of the price scale. This is a high end camera, not a cheaply made one, it feels heavy and metal rather than plastic.
The zoom is great, see picture of cat viewed at 15x. The resolution is somewhere between HD and 4K at 2560×1920, or if you want a more standard aspect ratio 2560×1440 (WQHD). It has both wifi and ethernet connectivity. Full control of movement, zoom, focus and colour options are avaliable in the app and pc application, the control is finer as you zoom which is good.
Night vision is great with good quality black and white infrared imaging and floodlight colour imaging.
It can track humans, store to an SD card both video and pictures.
Overall you don’t get this level of features on a cheaper model.
This is a great camera for CCTV, the app is easy to use and set up. Overall this provides a good user experience which can make use of several cameras.
Best features;
15x Optical Zoom – This is pretty impressive, it effectively allows you to zoom in on any subject to get an up close view of potential invaders. There’s no quality loss as it’s optical zoom rather than digital.
Image quality – The quality of the video feed is good, the stream itself has adjustable resolution allowing for less data intensive feed.
Auto focus – keeps the image respectably sharp and clear. There are times when it takes a while to adjust when using the optical zoom, particularly when zooming on closer object’s but for the most part; it works well.
Dual low light mode – Both infrared black & white along with full colour floodlight style night modes. The range on IR mode is decent and allows you to get a good view of things in the dark. The floodlight mode isn’t quite as good for range but it’s more than acceptable for looking at things a little closer to the camera.
Two way voice – This has a pretty good speaker inside which is very loud considering the size of the camera. Useful for shouting obscenities at passers by if that’s your thing! Personally I prefer to use it to communicate with people outside the house.
TL;DR – This is a good camera that is easy to set up and use. It comes with pretty much all the features you could ever really need. This does also have an SD card slot(micro) allowing for recording.
Super camera. Im very happy with the quality.
Very fast to put it on and its have super picture quality.
Its auto tracking with super good zoom.
Have 2 ways tacking system and floodlight at night.
Its works via wifi and recording well.
Im absolutly satisfied with it.
So susrely can recommend it to all.
I will start by saying this camera is great. I have a similar camera that’s ran by solar for a similar price which is great but this one seems better quality. The camera’s case is metal rarther than plastic and the camera was easy enough to put on the wall with a drill. The camera was also quite easy to set up on the app and connect to the WiFi. The camera records onto an sd card that you will avto install and format before putting the camera up, again this is easy to do. My favourite feature of this camera has to be the motion tracking, you set the camera up in the position you want it to be in majority of the time using the app. Once this is set up and you have activated motion tracking the camera will then wait to detect motion. Once it’s detected someone in the cameras view it will follow them by moving the camera in the direction they are moving. It’s brilliant. The camera also has coloured night vision when it detects someone at night the spot lights come on the camera which then makes the night vision turn to colour. I can’t fault this camera to be honest, it does exactly what I expected it to do. If not more.
This is a very sturdy, well put together camera in a black metal casing – no plastic rubbish here – with a very usable app which works first time (or at least it did for me). Image quality is very good, as is the night vision.
By far the hardest part of the whole thing is actually installing the camera, but even that wasn’t particularly difficult, and as long as you have a suitable mounting point, it shouldn’t cause an issue.
Of course, the main point is that this adds a great deal of security to your home but you will need a good quality, high capacity SD card which isn’t included.
This review is for the C12 Model (SV3C PTZ WiFi Camera Outdoor Auto Tracking 15X Optical Zoom 5MP Floodlight Color Night Vision Security IP Camera)
A sturdy dome camera with some good features compared to others. My current camera has a dome over its lens and can get condensation built up in it. This one has the lens exposed so no issue with condensation. Th C12 was easy to setup in wireless mode but as with anything like this it’s best to configure before installing just in case. The setup was easy with CamHi pro I didnt use the network cable approach instead i used the wireless procedure but it was different to the book. I started the app up then connected to the camera’s Wi-Fi point then added it to the app. The app translations are a little off and on first setup it will tell you to change the default password and wont take no for an answer!
The mechanism is not buttery smooth and you can hear the motor noise on the video. I did have issues with the camera disconnecting from the app/computer. Initially I did wonder if it was a power supply issue or extension (12v Jack type) cable I was using but realised it was WiFi related In the end. I was using a tri-band router with one single access point name for the single 2.4ghz and two 5ghz bands. Normally this is fine and the router will sort out what’s best/least congested band for the device. It looks like the camera was on the edge of the 5ghz signal range despite showing strong signal and was dropping out when using the app and the router detected higher bandwidth requirements. I have a wifi extender in the conservatory set to 2.4ghz only with the 5ghz providing back haul and a separate ssid. Once I connected the camera WiFi to this all the problems went away and has been rock solid since.
The power supply cable could do with being longer or have the option of PoE although as i am using this wireless PoE wouldn’t help, I ended up buying an extension cable to run power to the camera from the adapter. The Ethernet connection comes without a cover or bung on my sample so it’s left exposed to the elements. I ended up using nano tape to make a bung and protect it
The tracking works well and I particularly like the fact that when you zoom in the camera PTZ movements get smaller as you zoom in so you retain tight control over the image without big jumps as you move.
Image quality is good for the price (179) and its a camera i have happily installed to monitor my property
As noted the fixing bracket is a great idea with you mounting the bracket first then sliding the camera onto it and tightening up the base screw
I have noticed that the range of motion horizontally will reduce occasionally and it needs me to rotate the camera down fully before it will tilt up completely. Some have had issues first setting up but I have never had this and always used the WiFi AP connection method instead of having to set up over Ethernet (WiFi method is to power up and hold the reset button for 10s this then turns the camera wifi access point on. Connect you mobile’s WiFi to the camera access point and then set up via the app it’s very easy) as noted all the lag and freezing issues experienced was down to poor WiFi connection on the 5ghz band so change to 2.4ghz and should solve i
The actual camera is very well made, heavy and durable. Much better to my old one.
To connect – took me ages to work out where the reset button was. When i found it, it was a smooth sailing to connect to wifi.
The picture quality is great! I love the zoom, pretty clear. Night vision is great too.
I absolutely do recommend it!
