Quite a good camera, ring light isn’t the best but good for a built in. Autofocus does struggle unless you have ‘perfect’ lighting already. I do recommend as a starter camera or for those on a budget. Overall I like it and it does what I need it to.
If you’ve been streaming for awhile then I wouldn’t suggest this camera. Autofocus is weak but the ring light addition is a nice feature! The price is a bit high but you are always guaranteed good quality with Razer. If you’re starting out as a streamer it’s a great option!
Great camera, if it wasn’t for the wandering auto-focus.
It also pushes Synapse software every time you swap USB port.
Synapse does not serve any purpose for this camera. Go Razer!
I use this with my Xbox Series S, was a little confusing at first, but for it to activate, you have to start the stream and open up the game, figured this out quickly and never had a problem with it! Love i
This product works very well and the picture quality is very good.
A draw back would be while you’re installing the camera the amount of apps it asks you to download without much information on what each one does can be a little frustrating and takes time to work out which one is needed for changing the settings on your camera for your own individual needs.
Once you do find the correct app you can set it up easily, even if there are many more options than what should be necessary.
I got it for streaming and I absolutely loved it and I had pretty good moments.
For streams I recommend changing to 720p 60hz for a smoother experience.
The auto-focus is not perfect but works good as intended.
I recommend deactivating the “light compensation” because for any reason it make the image a bit laggier.
It is very small, and the position and how it bends it’s format is very flexible and usefull.
Everything perfect apart of using the ring light for a long time (like above ~45min). It’s uncomfortably hot, the light warms your face and the longer the time passes the worse.
Not perfect not bad. It does what it is supposed to.
Video quality is good. Microphone is very poor, so would not suggest using this if you don’t have a separate microphone. The ring light can be a little harsh even on the lowest setting depending on how well-lit the room is, and the distance from the camera. Auto focus is very twitchy, would recommend setting the focus prior to using.
This cam offers semi-professional camera quality at an affordable price. The auto focus is responsive and accurate. The back light is a great feature and will illuminate your face even in the dreariest of office workspaces. My only gripe is that the APP doesn’t seem to offer much and it’s one of those that always pops up on my computer for no reason.
Was skeptical with this being 2 in 1 with the ring light but this has surpassed my expectations. This is a decent quality picture and very straight forward to set up and use. Would highly recommend for the price point, pleasantly surprised. For context, I am the least technical person you could ever meet and I hate navigating set up of anything to do with tech. This was a breeze.
It’s the best camera if you’re looking to stream to your friends with a camera to your friends.
Probably not ideal for the larger audiences, but perfect for everyday use.
The Mic isn’t anything special, it works, people can hear me clearly, that’s just what I want. I use a separate mic anyway, but it’s nice to have.
The lighting dial could use something that clicks or makes a physical difference when turning it up or down. Currently it’s smooth so you’ll never be able to know what lighting level you like. (Example, my headset is 4 notches down on each side and fits perfectly)
So I’ve been wanting to start streaming for a while so I bought this camera alongside the Razer Seiren X microphone – Both are absolutely fabulous, the only problem I have with this camera is that you sometimes have to Disable and then Re-enable the Auto Adjustment (I believe Focus but I may be wrong) in the menu to get the camera working without Frame drops our out of sync Audio – I’ve only had to do this once and it seems to have been fine since but every time I launch Streamlabs OBS I have to quickly disable and reenable the auto adjustment features to get the camera working without fault – HOWEVER, Overall the quality is amazing, the ring light is very bright and does the job perfectly and I would DEFINITELY RECCOMMEND THIS ITEM!

This camera was a tremendous upgrade from my prior webcam, two words of advice though. If you want true 30fps or 60fps turn Low light compensation off, the image lags horribly with this turned on. Also turn auto focus off if you want to avoid having a fight with it after moving so much as an inch, just drag the slider until you look crisp and leave it. After throwing some LUTs over it in OBS with some minor tweakage the Image quality looks like a camera worth twice as much
Not entirely sure if the same problem would happen to others, but when I plugged in this webcam, even having set up the Razer software, it didn’t seem to want to be recognised by my computer for a long while. I eventually fixed the issue, but it was a confusing process and should have been straightforward to set up.
Once I did get it set up it’s been very helpful and a good quality camera for use on calls. It’s easy to swap between both my desktop and my laptop depending on which I’m using, and is quite easily positioned. The camera quality is good but the auto-focus does sometimes readjust itself slightly too often which can lead to lots of very small moments of blurring as the lens is repositioning. But overall it has been good to use.
I’m mostly using this for casual calls or videos, I’m not a streamer or anything like that. So for me personally it’s pretty good. The camera quality is nice and noticeably better than others on zoom calls, and the ring light is a nice touch when I’m in low light.
However it’s effects fall off quite quickly when I sit further back. If you are looking for a good lighting set up and you can afford to I’d probably get a dedicated lighting set up. For occasional streaming and video calls this product is more than enough
Setup was plug and play, literally couldn’t be simpler. Detected in all my video applications without any issues and the camera quality is great – very clear and the auto focus generally works very well indeed. I can speak for the microphone though as I have always used headphones for calls. As for the light ring, it seems slightly gimmicky in my opinion as it’s very rarely needed – let’s be honest, you generally don’t sit in a dark room for video calls – perhaps if you’re gaming and streaming then it’s more applicable.
Overall, really impressed with the colours and picture quality, great webcam and happy with the purchase. I don’t stream games but it’s much better for video calls than many other webcams.
Bought this for my son as a webcam to start streaming. The webcam is comparable to the c920 but has better low light response and most of all the ring light is great addition , it helps to balance light coming from behind or the sides during day. It is exceptional value for its price considering all its good points. Much better definition and colour than camera in MacBook Pro 16″.
But, software is not compatible with iOS, so had to pay for downloaded control app. Even then, some flare that I can’t adjust out.
The ring light is a good idea, but can dazzle when looking at screen (or into camera when being ‘sincere’!), and a rather harsh colour temperature.
This feels like a solid bit of kit – the picture in video or still images is sharp and the adjustable brightness of the ring lamp is a real bonus. You can make videos in a dark room and still be clearly visible, so long as you’re not sitting miles away from the camera. This is SO much better than any built-in webcam I have ever used and even the integral microphone isn’t too bad. This is an excellent choice for zoom, YouTube, OBS or FB Live or whatever you’d like. The video stream is smooth and the whole thing just works perfectly. A great choice, and much cheaper than a lot of alternatives
The downsides are minor, but are as follows:
The light is just awful unless you’re a few inches from the screen. Depending on where you are, if you wear glasses you might end up looking like Riddick with two crazy little glowing pupils where the light ring glares back like a beast!
Secondly, despite lots of settings being tinkered with it’s sometimes overexposed; certainly using the auto settings. I have a window directly in front of me and a 49″ ultra wide screen monitor, so there’s serious light hitting my face anyway. I can sometimes become an ethereal-faced creature when the light is very significant as the camera just can’t seem to cope with it. Conversely, I expect this is why it’s epic in low light (and it is).
So pretty expensive, but I don’t happen to care because it’s been a very good camera for me professionally.
Windows 10 desktop machine. The user manual is very sparse. The led did not light up when it was plugged in as the manual said. Windows did not give any notification about detecting and setting up a device. I thought it was incompatible or broken. (Also tried a Dell laptop, Win10, it gave a brief device detection notification but gave no “ready to use” status).
The Razer Synapse installation wizard popped up after a minute, with several options ticked that at first glance appear to have something to do with the camera but this is an apparent false flag. I did not bother installing any of the Synapse software, none it seems to have anything to do with the camera and it would use up nearly 400MB of my disk space. You may find some configuration for the Kiyo microphone there but other users have noted that the Kiyo mic quality is not the best for real streaming enthusiasts. I went hunting for clues as to whether this thing was installed in Win10.
Settings->Devices listed the Kiyo under Audio, so it had obviously detected the microphone. Settings->Search “camera” comes up with “Camera Privacy Settings”. You need to switch access “On” for any of the apps listed that you wish to use with the camera. I switched them all off except for the Camera app.
In the start menu I typed “camera” and the Camera app showed up so I opened it. The Kiyo sprang into life, the led light ring came on and the app had images.
Light ring adjustment is neat and the picture/sound quality is good enough for my purposes. The led shining in your face might get annoying if in use for long periods and I could do without the reflection of it in my glasses. Otherwise so far so good.
I was then able to open the non-Windows apps that I wanted to use the camera with – Zoom, VLC and OBS. They all detected the Kio and it functioned in all of them, although some of the settings in the individual apps need adjusting but I’ve not delved that far yet. It worked with Zoom just fine and that will do for now.
I bought this because my office window is on one side of me (at my 2 o’clock, as a pilot would say), causing strong (day)light on one side of my face with the other side in near darkness.
I had hoped the built in light would balance that out by lighting the “dark side” (Luke…) of my face. It does do this, but the effect is relatively minor when the natural light is strong. It does have a reasonable affect further toward the end of the day).
However, having tried in other lighting situations, the light sensitivity & picture quality on the camera is VERY good for darker situations. It is exceptionally good (esp. compared to my aging logitech pro 9000) when you have low light , and even works well with no light other than your monitor glare, with or without using the built-in light.
It’s packing and accompanying s/w is heavy on “gaming use”, so I’m guessing the target audience is gaming more in the evening, or night-time (or in dark situations generally).
Summary:
– As a day-time zoom camera, it’s good, and a reasonable price. Seem well put together etc.
– For low light situations (low light, NOT uneven light) It’s VERY good, but more because of the camera sensitivity and picture quality in low-light than the built-in illumination.
