Finally a mouse with a tilt wheel and forward/back buttons. That makes it the perfect office mouse. I also like that you can easily take the top cover off. Nice for cleaning.
I also own the HP 710, which has almost similar specs as this one. The Razer was earlier to market so it almost seems like HP copied the concept. Except for the following differences:
– Of course, the HP has a rechargeable lithium battery. For me that’s the main selling point. The battery indicator in your OS should also more accurately indicate the battery level. For the Razer, which uses AA batteries that’s more of a hit and miss, especially when you use 1.2V rechargeable ones.
– The scroll wheel including the tilt wheel and the side buttons on the HP are much more quiet than on the Razer. The Razer is only silent for the main left/right buttons. If you want quiet clicks from all buttons, go for the HP.
– The button “clicks” on the HP do not exactly correspond to registering the click. That is, when you press a button (left, right and also the middle scroll wheel) and don’t completely let go it may not haptically “click up”, but still registers the “click up”. The Razer does this much better.
– The scroll wheel lock button on the HP is easier to use than on the Razer (but see the quality control issue below).
– The HP has support for fast switching between two Bluetooth devices (three devices including the USB dongle), whereas the Razer supports three (for four devices in total). On the HP, the switching user feedback is done by dedicated LEDs. On the Razer it works with a single RGB LED where every Bluetooth channel has its own colour. I think two devices is plenty for many people but I still think the Razer solution is more elegant. Something to be aware of if you have many laptops, desktops and phones and whatnot.
– Compared to the Razer, everything is smooth plastic on the HP. The Razer on the other hand also has rubber on the sides and in the scroll wheel, which feels a bit nicer. The HP is a bit easier to clean though. So it depends on your taste I guess (or the greasiness of your hands!).
– The Razer comes with a protective bag, unlike the HP. It’s nothing special, just a cloth sack that is closed with a thread. The HP seems to be built with plastic that is slightly more fragile compared to the Razer, so actually the bag would be more useful there, keeping the plastic from being scratched when put in a bag with sharp items. I think this is a nice touch from Razer for such a premium product. You would expect the HP to also have it included, given that it’s second to market, but apparently they didn’t want to copy everything that the Razer has.
– I like the size on both, the HP is a bit smaller according to specs but you don’t notice that. I’m used to small mice so I use them as an everyday mouse, not particularly for travelling. The features are quite unique and not possible to find in many other mice (like the tilt wheel, top cover, lithium battery for the HP, Bluetooth, forward/back buttons, fast scrolling). So I hope that this will set the standard for other products, also in other sizes for people who prefer that.
Also for what you get, it’s very expensive! (But so is the HP 710.)
Soft touch feel soft sound like a quality click. Scrolling is smooth and connectivity is flawless. I love it. Runs on 2 double A batteries which are included in the pack.
Does everything I need to for office work. Previous mouse gave me some minor wrist pain and since purchasing this mouse, pain no longer an issue. Battery life is also very impressive.
Great mouse that feels and looks good. Work long hours and have noticed my hand isn’t as fatigued. Only criticism is as others have said the charger is very specific to the mouse which means when it stops working (which micro usbs always do) will likely have to order a specific cable rather than use another one hanging around. Also the mouse clicks are a little loud. Not enough to put me off though and all in all really happy with the purchase.
I bought this mouse with the idea of using it when im working away from the office, and it definitely delivers!
I’m using it on my Dell XPS 15 and as soon as you put the batteries and wireless receiver in you’re ready to pretty much instantly!
One feature I didnt know of before hand, but I think is defintelt worth a mention, is that when you take the top of the mouse off (to access the batteries and storage for the dongle) it’s actually attached magnetically and not mechanical clips! great idea as I was slightly concerned about how mechanical clips would fair after some usage, obviously this had already been designed out!
The software is really easy to navigate if you wish to change the courser speed.
If I had to mark the mouse down for anything, I would be purley that the dongle is a USB A and not USB C which is where the industry is shifting towards. This issue was overcome by purchasing a USB A to USB C adaptor for a few exta ‘s as I didnt want to always have Dell’s multi-adapter hanging out of the side of my latop all the time.
When you click the mouse it’s almost silent which I think is great (lets be honest, if you’re in a cafe or somewhere else public even I would get annoyed by hearing something clicking in the backgroud!) But the mouse still gives that ‘click’ feeling through the buttons, so you do still get the feeling that you’re pressing it!
The size (or lack of) makes it easy to fit into the laptap sleeve without it having to be forced in, and so far, considering it’s a small mouse I don’t feel like im having to compromise with any functions or comfort.
In summary, If you’re looking for something to take out and about with you’re laptop and get some work done, or just to have something so you arnt mashing your trackpad, don’t think twice and get this bought.
The ergonomics, sensor and build quality of the mouse are top not, absolutely no complaints. In the time I’ve had it, it has never been close to running out of charge. The weight is worse on paper than it is in practice, while not as lightweight as alternatives such as the Viper, the ergonomics and shape make up for it.
Make no mistake, this may be a productivity mouse but that isn’t it’s only use.
My only issue is the charging cable as the included micro usb is extremely snug when trying to charge. It would be nice to have a wireless charge version of this mouse.
Very quiet and very comfortable. You can feel the quality of this product when you use it. The keys are extremely quiet which is what I was looking fo
Keyboard is sturdy built, oozes quality but be aware that the function keys are set for multimedia from the outset. that is, if you press F1 then it’s set to must the speakers… If you want to do F1 instead of “Mute” then you must install the synapse software and then find and tick the function key setting AND keep the software running (or else it’ll revert).
Another thing that you must do is press FN and F11. This’ll darken the lights on the board so that the keys show a black QWERTY… instead of the silly white/light blue QWERTY – which would look good in a darkened room 😀
As for pairing, I chose to pair it to my laptop via Blue Tooth – A nice simple process (google…)
Overall, beautiful, quality (and weighty) keyboard. If you’re a heavy keyboard user, don’t hestitate: buy one.
I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews for this keyboard. I use it with my Macbook and it works flawlessly! The only issue I have with it is the battery life. After around 6 days it needs charging depending on if you use the LED’s. For that reason I am giving it 4 stars buts its not 1 or 2 stars as other people have left.
Thres not much you can say about this Matt that you wouldnt expect. the matt could be smoother on the wrist and edges and my mouse glides across it, this couldbe a problem for you if you want a matt with a bit of friction on it. FYI – This matt WILL get dirty, it picks up marks like noones business and is a pain to keep clean without fully washing it.
Overall, this mousemat was comfortably the nicest looking I’ve ever seen. For that alone, I’ve given it 5 stars. As with all of these big desk pads, they can give you a sort of carpet burn effect if you move around on them enough, but that isn’t really the fault of this pad specifically.
My only gripe is just how easy it is to mark the thing – but again, I’m buying a grey deskpad to look really cool, I can’t then complain really when it marks from general use.
I wouldn’t be using this as a gaming deskpad, it’s really more for office use and to be part of a productive aesthetic – I have it with a very nice mechanical that I built, and sits on my desk at work proud.
Perfect size, material is great however due to the colour it just shows up every little mark which doesn’t make it very practical
The mouse feels and looks great and is very comfortable for a long day in front of the computer. Its very precise on both 2.4 and blue tooth. and was super simple to set up.
But I do have two annoyances with it. The scroll wheel is vertical and has a flat profile, where as the mouse is tilted slightly, this means my finger when scrolling isnt flat on the wheel and could feel better if the wheel was more rounded over or tilted over to match the actual mouse.
Secondly. Why the f does it have a micro usb cable with a deliberately proprietary connector shape! in 2021 not using usb C for a premium high end electronic device is a joke. So now I have another cable that only does one thing and if i loose or break it I have to buy a new overpriced, obsolete cable rather than use the one that works for everything else on my desk. In hindsight I would have got the mx master just for usb C over this.
Connectie via Bluetooth, de eigen 2.4GHz dongle of bedraad (beide usb-a!) werkt allemaal.
Superb comfortable mouse with both USB dongle and Bluetooth connectivity.
Very happy with this good looking mouse. Glides smoothly and never misses a click.
Metal scroll wheel is cool to the touch and very tactile.
Battery life is excellent. I charged it up on receiving the mouse and I have been using it for months now and still not had to charge it again.
I like the fact it has a compartment on the underside to store the usb dongle when travelling.
Changing the responsiveness of the mouse via the button on top is a very handy feature.
To swap which device it is connected to there is a slider switch to change between Bluetooth, dongle or OFF and a button to select between 1 of 3 Bluetooth devices.
The Bluetooth selector button has a coloured LED which changes colour depending on which of the three Bluetooth devices you select.
The mouse charges via a custom moulded micro usb plug. For me this is not an issue but it would have been nice if a USB-C had been implemented to save on the overall number of cables a users has to maintain. Note the moulded micro usb fits very securely in the mouse but this also means regular micro usb plugs will not fit in the mouse.
This mouse has a massive premium price and there are definitely excellent and much cheaper mice out there but for me personally if fits my hand very well and feels good in use for long periods so its become my only mouse.
I like it so much I bought a second one for travelling around with me.
I paired it with the Razer pro type but found the keyboard too noisy so its now paired with a Logitech MX keys.
Perfect combo for me but the compromise is the Logitech MX keys only comes in a dark grey, (shame).
Been using these for about a week now and must say it’s a really nice mouse. The battery is exceptional and lasts a long time. Really nice fit in the hand and love the white colour with the grey accents. The DPI can be changed at the click of a button and the scroll wheel is really smooth when in use. Really easy to setup as it was just plug and play. Make sure you charge before using because as default has around 60% charge.
There is no escaping that this is a lot of money for a mouse but it is the best I have ever used and, after a month of daily use, I think it is worth every penny.
I have been searching for a mouse for a long time that is ergonomic and suitable for both work and gaming. I have tried other options from Logitech and Microsoft which have not been much cheaper and were a disappointment. This ticks all the boxes and does everything well.
Quality is as you would expect for the price – well made with good fit and finish and some real metal parts (not just painted plastic). Despite this, it is light and is as good as any gaming mouse I have ever used, with excellent precision and adjustable DPI setting that can be set to custom values. I have also still never needed to charge it, despite using daily for over a month, often for over 7 hours a day.
Only minor complaints:
– Mac support is limited as the Razer software is Windows only. I have managed to find a 3rd party app that allows the buttons to be customised, and it is possible to setup on Windows and save the profile on the mouse itself as a workaround. Not a great experience for something this expensive though.
– Supplied cable must be used for charging. Micro USB is used (which is a bit baffling when almost everything has moved to USB C now), but the space around the port is limited and does not fit a standard sized cable. Not brilliant as this is the only way to charge and battery is not removable.
