A*. Well done Remington! This is a reasonably priced razor (49.99 here on Amazon) which shaves both fast and close. But that’s not all; the travel of the foil over the skin is really smooth, which was a welcome novelty. The build quality is excellent and it just looks great too, not to mention the nice digital battery display. This is a top quality product, excellent on all the important points. I could deduct half a star for the stand and the way the charging cable protudes from the side (it sticks out a long way, see picture), but hey, at least it’s got a stand (many don’t), and it’s a folding stand too if you happen to need that feature. But these are minor points – this quality as this price deserves the full 5 stars.
This is my second Braun and they have improved the head cuter on the new one, which makes for a much closer shave, especially with the stray pubic hairs. Recommended.
Light weight easy to use, gives a nice smooth shave. Great battery life, easy to clean.
Bought this razor for my hubby for xmas. Was a bit worried about because he’s had electric razors before but they weren’t very good. Be he loves this one. It gives him a really close shave just like a wet one would.
over the years i have tried many electric shavers, but without doubt Remington are the best if you want a close shave in a very short time
I already had this shaver, but it needed new cutters and foil. It was just as cheap to buy this new one, as it was to get replacement cutters and foil directly from Remmington when i enquired with them. My previous shaver had served me well in the past, so that is why i went for the same again. My original shaver cost 85 when i bought it a year and a half ago, so this purchase was very reasonable at 42. The replacement cutters and foil were going to cost 33 from Remmington.
Good to use nice head good battery.Shame the blades only last three months.
The F8 Remington Shaver is very impressive, having used Panasonic for the last twenty years or more and having used Braun as well previously, I was somewhat apprehensive about trying something new but this shaver is excellent, very close comfortable shave, easy to clean and a comfortable angle to the face, I would certainly recommend it, I don’t know how long the foils will last though, time will tell, I never had to replace them on the Panasonic, so fingers crossed
Its an average shaver with expensive repurchase of foil and cutters. Its better use in wetshave mode.
Great shaver, shaves very close with Remington’s high-tech micro-screen.
Articulated shaving head means easy shaving all over those chin-angles! Easy to get head off for cleaning. Fast charging from flat, about 35 mins.
Flimsy charging stand, just take care with it, it does its job.
Overall a quality 5 star shaver that I’d say yeah, go for it!
Had a Remington F7800 for eight years until the battery packed up. This new F8 shaver works in a different way with its cutters. The F7800 had vertical cutters directly at right angles under the foil so the closeness of the shave was dictated by the thinness of the foil. Whereas with this F8 model the curved cutter blades are flattened, double edged and cut horizontally side to side under the foil. The result is the width of the foil plus the width of cutter blades, albeit probably microns, does not result in such a smooth shave as the older F7800 type shaver. The foils on the F8 are different too with a different mesh pattern.
Its also more difficult to clean the cutters also because the sideways cutters cut the brush.
The motor also seems slower compared with F7800 and so a longer shave time also.
It cannot be charged directly but only via a mandatory folding stand, which is annoying as its another item to pack when travelling. All previous Remington’s, the charge lead plugged directly into the shaver and the stand was optional.
Despite all that its well built with clear display of shaving time left and hopefully I’ll get used to taking longer to achieve a good shave. Hopefully this will last eight years as well and the cost of replacement cutters and foils don’t require a mortgage. Have now purchased the F3 (20) shaver and although same cutters it has the old style foil its far better shave. I have put the foils from my old F7800 into the new F8 (yes, they fit) and this is now much better.
Replaced a previous Remmington. Good overall but do NOT buy for the LED display of remaining charge time. This is erractic & jumps from eg 35mins to 20, 52 to 40 during a 5 min runtime! However it does give ~ 60mins runtime overall. Just dont rely on the display!
My main bugbare is it can only be charged in its cradle, which is very flimsy & unlikely to endure much travelling without damage, then you’ll be knacked! Why can’t they also have a connection on the shaver itself like previous models so you can still charge whilst travelling without taking & risk damage to the flimsy cradle! Makes no sense!
I have used Remington electric razors since 1953 and have never had a poor one.
This gives a good close shave and is easy to clean.
When battery life is shown as ‘low’ I find I still get another 5 or 6 shaves before it runs out.
An excellent shaver, far better than Braun or any other brand!
I bought this to replace my old Remington, which I used for many yours before passing to my grandson.
I never once had to change the foil & cutters… which happened every couple of years with my previous Braun shavers!
This machine has a comfortable grip and is quiet in operation. It cuts and trims well and is very kind to my ultra-sensitive skin. I think this comes from the well designed cutter head. It arrived urgently and exactly at the promised time. I like the machine and think it offers good service for the price.
I think the Remington shaver is the besr shaver I’ve ever bought .
It beats every shaver other one.
It’s best battery, it’s easier to clean, and gives an extremely close shave.
Very good value for mony.

Always used an electric shaver, this one is a good buy. It has a digital display to indicate remaining minutes, on a full charge it will last 60 mins. Feels well balanced, and is a quality item. I would buy again without hesitation.
A foil shaver works best for me so I have gone back to one having used rotary for years. Remington has quite a good name and this is a mid-range machine in the Remington portfolio. The shaver foils give a good close shave and pretty quickly hoovers up all the bristles. So far so good. However, the battery could last a bit longer I feel and when putting it on charge you need to double check that it is connected otherwise you could come back an hour later to find that it has just been sitting there without getting on with the job. The foil protection cover comes off far too easily. That is a design fault. The shaver comes with a cleaning brush but do not let the brush go anywhere near the foil. It will ruin it I promise you and the temptation is great because the bristles collect at the ends. To clean the cutting heads etc no doubt Remington will have a cleaning fluid costing a small fortune for a few milliliters but I knock out most of the debris and give the heads a couple of squirts of 99% isopropyl alcohol. You can buy a litre of the stuff on line for less than 10 and can use it for 101 other jobs such as giving a squeaky clean finish to your camera or phone, computer, CDs, torch lens, the windows of your house etc. I am told it is also good for cleaning delicate equipment such as electronics but I have not tried that.
My 3 or 4th Remington over many years but this is by far the best yet. Gives a really close shave and catches any stray longer hairs well. The battery seems to last for ages, it’s washable or wet use, is lightweight and fits nicely in the hand. I can’t see why you would need to spend more. Very impressed!
No electric shaver can shave you as close as a blade but this one comes very near to it. I have had much more expensive electric shavers than this in the past and they are no better. I even shave my bonce with it. Seems to go for ages before neeeding recharging. I like it and its great value for money.
