Works brilliantly at straightening my hair I’ve tried to curl my hair with them but the curl only lasts for a couple of hours. Would highly recommended them as straighteners just one sweep through hair and done.
I love the result.

straightens hair pretty good, not much better than my old one
I am writing this review comparing them against my older Remington wide straighteners, and the Corrales that I was fortunate to get to try recently (but are way out of my budget). I have thick wavy hair.
Presentation was very nice. I like the fact everything in the box can be recycled. No bits of plastic or plastic bags.
They started up very quickly.
I did one pass over a section of hair and was amazed at how well it straightened first time (I was expecting to have to go over a few sections before it picked up my hair type).
They did get hot, but considering the type of hair I have, I did expect this, but my hair didn’t feel like it was burning and I like that you can override the temperature if needed. If I can get away with one pass over on most sections of my hair every time, I will be very happy.
Cable swivels and is a nice length. It was nice trying the corrales, which are cordless, but this wouldn’t really benefit me and would not be a deal breaker for me, so having plugged in straighteners is fine as long as that cable swivels.
These are definitely lighter than the corrales as there is no battery weight from that cordless feature, but I didn’t notice the weight that much when actually using the corrales.
I was worried about the strip that goes through the middle of the plates but you don’t notice it at all.
You don’t need to grip these tightly either due to the flexing plates. Over gripping could make it feel like you are pulling your hair out.
I was also worried about how thin these were as I had been used to using wide plate straighteners, but these worked just as well and wasn’t an issue at all.
They do have an odd smell at first, but I guess that’s the smell of the materials used, just like how a toaster can smell on the first use, but this seems to have now gone.
I’m not very good at using straighteners to make curls but I did manage to do a couple of curls with them, so I’m sure they would be good for that too.
I won’t lie, compared to some of the other good Remington straighteners, these are on the pricey side (even when half price) but hopefully the new technology will be worth it.only time will tell on that one. I like the 5 year warranty too for peace of mind.
If I am able I will update this review at a later date if anything changes.
I needed a thinner set of straighteners since I’ve had my hair cut and I have wide GHD’s. These actually beat my GHD’s in my opinion. My hair feels softer, and it only takes 1 pass.
Even at the RRP of 150 they’re worth it in my opinion (If you know GHD prices, you’ll know it’s not a lot for good straighteners) but now at less than half price at the time of writing, 69.99, these are fantastic value
The hair straightener by Remington came nicely packed in its branded cardboard box.
It comes in lovely gold colour with a slim, sleek design.
Using the straightener was simple. It comes with an adjustable temperature and a reasonable-length cord.
Additionally, the plates heat up pretty quickly plus give me smooth, straightened hair in no time. The swivel cord makes straightening simple. In addition, the straightener comes with 2 different modes. Automatically shuts off after 60 minutes.
However, the plates do end up pulling my hair, especially when it is dry. Also, the price seems a bit on the higher side.
A nice feeling of quality. My wife uses ghd normally and these are comparable.
What she didn’t like was the bar and ridge on the opposing face plates, which she said felt like the plates were gripping and pulling the hair, rather than the total smoothness of her ghd’s.
In fairness, they did straighten very well, she just said they weren’t particularly pleasant to use.
The price seems on the high side.
For many years my wife has been using GHD straighteners with excellent results but the pair she has now is over 10 years old and it’s taking longer and longer for the plates to heat up so it made sense to order these as a replacement.
The only real difference between theses and the old GHDs is that there’s a temperature control but as my wife has dense wavy hair we had to set them to maximum to get the same results as the GHDs.
These heat up fairly quickly, have a handy heat-proof mat to lay them on and the build quality is reasonable but not fantastic given the price.
Overall, a decent pair if straighteners but a bit over-priced.
My hair is damaged and dry because I straighten it on a regular basis, once every day. I also find that it breaks easily – I tend to only straighten my hair when it is going to be worn down.
These Remington PROluxe adaptive straighteners are an excellent edition to the existing adaptive hair styling range!
The straighteners are simple to operate and are ergonomically designed; allowing them to effortlessly move through the lengths of my hair. After styling, my hair feels smooth, sleek and looks really shiny.
I love the adaptive feature on the straighteners; it ‘scans’ your hair multiple times whilst styling to ensure they are giving off the optimum temperature and will automatically adjust when needed – protecting the hair from over-styling and heat damage, I do still however use heat protection when using.
These straighteners are incredible and I will definitely say that they perform better than any other set I have owned – even when compared to my expensive, premium branded straighteners.
Based on my experience using this product, I would highly recommend the Remington PROluxe straighteners and feel they are best on the market available – I feel they offer excellent value for money for such a unique product which performs exceptionally well!
Over the years I’ve rarely straightened my hair due to having naturally fairly straight hair and preferring to actually wear it curly.
This year though I’ve taken to trying out straighteners to see how they’d work out for me. I’ve actually been surprised by just how much they are able to iron out any kinks in my hair and reduce frizziness.
These Remington Pro Luxe straighteners have really impressed me- so much so that I’ll be using them more often to straighten my hair.
They are supplied with a heat-proof mat to help you make the most of the styling opportunities provided and ensure you can place the straighteners down without damaging sensitive surfaces.
This is important as with anything that reaches a high heat you’ll need to know when you place them down that your surfaces are safe from heat damage.
The power lead is a very good length at 3 metres and enables you to easily reach a mirror for styling, the cord is also able to swivel to help ensure you don’t tangle the cord, which can be so annoying.
The straightener is ready to use after just 15 seconds so you can pretty much plug them in, switch them on and be styling within minutes!
You also don’t need to worry about the selected temperature since this switches on in ‘StyleAdapt mode’, which means that it adapts the heat to the needs of your hair, learning as it goes.
You do have the option of a manual override, but I am happy to let this learn about my hair and I’ll see how it goes.
If two people regularly use the same straighteners, you can select a second style adapt mode so a different hair type can be learnt separately, which reduces the potential of hair being damaged as users swap over.
I found it easy to use as a straight plug-in and use device and not having to keep an eye on the temperature was useful as it was one less thing to be distracted about. It worked well to iron out any hair bobble kinks in my hair as well as helping to reduce frizz from my chemically treated (dyed) frizz prone hair. It seems much sleeker when I’ve finished ironing all of my hair.
I like the straighteners and, in particular the box that opens out from the middle once you remove the sleeve, I think the design from start to finish makes them very giftable for a loved one.
I personally will continue to use them in the future and would happily recommend to friends who are in need of a good hair straightener for a reasonable price.
I wasn’t sure about trusting this product, my hair is prone to heat damage if too hot. However these straighteners are perfect.
They adapt to your hair to ensure they don’t get too hot, just enough to do the job right.
I wouldn’t say I get 24hrs of straight hair but with how fine mine is, I wasn’t expecting it.
I understand the price can be steep but if you are looking for good quality then I would advise these.
The packaging that these straighteners come in is outstanding and makes the product feel super premium.
The box has all the information you need about the straighteners and it also holds everything inside nice and secure.
They also come with a heat mat to protect any surface that you might use to place the straighteners on.
The straighteners have a very slick design and look very nice. They are a dark grey in colour. There are buttons along the base that allow you to adjust the temperature for the most suited heat for your hair.
They are very effective and straighten you hair nicely.
These hair straighteners are brilliant they’re a bit pricey but so worth it they don’t pull on hair and they glide really nicely.
