Windproof Umbrella Questions & Answers
Travel umbrella benefits?
Our compact travel umbrella is small, yet mighty. Designed with a teflon coated double vented canopy it’s able to withstand strong gusts of wind, heavy rains, and sunny days. The windproof umbrella will bend, not break, keeping you protected from the elements. Reinforced fiberglass ribs (9 total) add stability to your umbrella. Auto open and close functions allow for easy one-handed operation, while compact size (11.5 inches) fits in any purse, backpack, car, and even pocket.
Does it hold up in high winds?
Other umbrellas easily bend and invert in windy conditions. With our windproof travel umbrella, you’ll never have to worry when the forecast calls for strong winds. The double vented canopy allows air and wind to flow through without bending or breaking. In addition, the heavy duty resin-reinforced fiberglass ribs flex during high winds for added security.
Does umbrella block the sun?
While our umbrellas are perfect for rain and wind, they work during sunny days as well. The teflon coating on the compact umbrella’s canopy resists the sun’s harsh UV rays. Confidently use our umbrella outdoors and know you’re protected.
Umbrella canopy size?
Don’t let the compact size fool you, our mini umbrella is equipped with a large double vented canopy. When open, the canopy measures 42 inches (61cm). Provides ample coverage for up to 2 individuals.
How to operate the umbrella?
Unlike hard to use manual umbrellas, our collapsible umbrella features a convenient automatic open and close button. To open, simply press the up arrow. Umbrella will instantly open. Ideal for one handed operation. To close, press the down button and push the top of the umbrella down. Umbrella will automatically fold.
Lovely bright yellow, cheery brolly! Teflon coated, vented too.
Robust and sturdy, push button opening and closing, not handbag sized but not cumbersome either.
Delivery was quick, the product itself does what it says. Feels great not having to worry about it blowing out from the wind. Been through so many cheap umbrellas that don’t stand a chance with Irish weather.
This arrived ahead of schedule on a day when rain was forecast so I got to try it out that same day. I was going to give it 5 stars as it appeared to be wind resistant but, alas a big gust of wind turned it inside out, so overall a good buy but don’t expect it to be entirely wind resistant!
Lovely sturdy umbrella. Easy to hold and easy to put up. I like the vents. I suspect this is to prevent the umbrella from blowing inside out. The vents do not allow the rain to come in. I have the blue umbrella and my husband chose the bright yellow one. He’s delighted with his.
I needed this for a holiday in Asia for both heavy downpours and strong sunshine. This umbrella fitted the bill perfectly. It was easy to use and it felt strong and reliable. It was maybe slightly bigger and heavier than I originally wanted but it performed well and I was very happy with this purchase.
This is a nice little travel umbrella that feels very well made and very easy to just slip in to a bag or backpack. I had a small issue with mine almost 2 years after purchase and the seller was fantastic, I had an extremely fast reply and a replacement umbrella was in my hand just a couple of days later. I highly recommend both the seller and umbrella.
Small, compact and sturdy. You can get rid of residual surface water quickly with a few swings. Fits easily into a backpack and seems to be quite durable.
The only down side is that the button that releases the umbrella is sticking after only a few uses.
But I found that if you release the pressure off of it then it pops open and closes as normal.
It’s lasted a year and a month. It’s been good. But I noticed a few weeks ago that some of the very thin threads that hold the fabric to the frame we’re broken. Since then it’s been a rapid descent until complete failure. It’s not been heavily used, but while it lasted it was certainly better than other brollies I’d had. But, is it worth the more than 3 times price? I’m not sure.
15 years ago I bought an umbrella after being caught out by a thunder storm on a visit to a popular tourist attraction in the midlands. I am not an umbrella nerd, however the umbrella surpassed my expectations, keeping me dry, and many friends and family dry, through thunder storms and coastal visits. We all loved this umbrella, it had become apart of our family. To my dismay, this magical umbrella was stolen.
So when I heard about the Fluton Cyclone Stick umbrella, my heart skipped a beat. I ordered it in green and black and waited with excitement for it to arrive. The next time it rained I proudly went for walk and was not disappointed. This umbrella is supremely strong, and kept me completely dry – even my trousers. I was the envy of all sodden ramblers.
So I then decided to show off my new umbrella to my friends. As expected, they were all jealous. And that’s when it started. ‘You look like the riddler’ started off an innocent comment, but soon became the start of a perilous journey. ‘Nice Riddler umbrella’, another would say.
To begin with I just laughed off this banter, but it did not go away. For my birthday, I received a riddler T-Shirt in the post and for Christmas an adult size riddler costume. Secretly, I thought that they were both awesome. The iconic black and green colours matching my wonderful new umbrella.
So one summer day I wore my new riddler t-shirt on a nice walk – being careful to pick a day that was sunny and was forcast not to rain. To my surprise, it turns out that the riddler is quite a popular Batman enemy. Many a stranger commented on my t-shirt and many asking for a riddle. Well, it may suprise you that I did not know many riddles. ‘What’s brown and sticky? A stick’ apparantly does not qualify as a riddle worthy of the riddler, and so I went home feeling a complete fraud.
So I did my research. I looked up many a riddle: some funny, some not. Some even from the original batman series from the 1960s. Prepared, I then ventured out with my riddler t-shirt and was ready to impress.
The first person to ask me for a riddle was mightly confused and delighted with my riddle. But then came back with ‘Batman would have solved that though – you need to try harder’. And strangely enough, this became a pattern. Everyone seemed to think that Batman would solve all my riddles.
Now, I have never much cared for Batman. He’s not even a real super hero, he’s just a fictional rich man who needs some counselling instead of dressing up as a Bat. This is when things got a bit strange. the next time I went for a walk other people also started to dress as DC characters. One short fat man dressed as Batman. I asked him who he really was and he replied ‘Bruce Wayne’. Of course he would. And even more annoyingly, he did solve my riddle. He also had an umbrella matching his costume. He did not agree that it was not as good as mine, so we decided to have an umbrella fight. Fluton Cyclone Stick umbrella 1 Batman 0
After defeating Batman, I also beat the Pengiun, the Joker, 2 face and Robin. All trying their best to solve my riddles and defeat me with their umbrellas. News of my heroics made there way to the local newspaper and then the national paper. Who was the Riddler and what was the source of his super powers?
Of course, it was all down to my umbrella. But this was a secret I would not disclose… until now. Buy this umbrella and fame and fortune will surely follow.
Ive used my brolly for more than 2 years before it retired (metal frames had given up). I asked for warranty from their customer support and got a reply the next day. New one arrived asap.
One of the best umbrellas I’ve had – it’s very stury and suitable for wind. Nice blue colour, comfortable to carry and I like the pouch that comes with it. I recommend.
Hi, I live in Ireland where the land is green and the sky is grey. Lots and lots of rain, lots and lots of wind and lots and lots of cows and sheep. This little umbrella comes with me everyday in the side pocket of my backpack and it has easily survived an Irish winter and still looks as good as it did the day it arrived in the post. Buy once cry once as they say, easy 5 stars for me.
It is not the lightest umbrella for its size. I do not like that that to close the handle you need a lot of strength and have to push it from the wet top, getting your hands wet anyway. Handle has to be closed to be able to push open the umbrella again. Otherwise handles windy conditions well.
Edit: contracting the company through Amazon, with my order number, and had a replacement in my door step in 3 days. Amazing customer service.

I bought this during COVID, and as a result didn’t go out much. Since then when I’ve been out, it’s not been raining except a handful of times, and the brolly did it’s job.
However in the last two weeks it’s been in constant use. It’s not windproof at all, I can’t get to pick my son up from school without having it blown inside out 3-4 times, and it’s only a 5 minutes walk. It’s easy to set it right, just point it towards the wind and it gets blown back into place… In exchange, you get wet for a bit.
The only real way for it to stay up, seems to be to walk with it pointed slightly forward, which leaves water coming off the back of the brolly and soaking the back of your legs
Other than the lack of windproofing, and not stopping me getting wet as a result, it’s a good brolly. It looks nice, opens and closes easily, and can fit in my winter coat pocket.
It came with a gaurantee, which i cant find now sadly. Would be interested in getting it replaced to see if maybe mine is just structurally defective.
I bought this after discovering that Skoda have been penny-pinching and now only supply one umbrella with the Kodiaq where they used to supply two. This is exactly the same dimensions as the genuine Skoda one when folded, so it fits perfectly in the stowage slot in the front door of my new car. Anyone with a larger Skoda will know what I mean. It’s also way better built that the rather flimsy ones Skoda supplies, and as I bought it when it was on offer, it’s much cheaper than buying a second one from my local Skoda dealer. Really it’s just a small umbrella for use when you get caught out in the rain with no coat or other umbrella. It is a little on the heavy side, but seems very sturdy and would stand up pretty well in a downpour, but there does need to be a little realism to some of the other reviews – it’s not going to perform as well as your 100+ golf umbrella! Overall very happy with it thus far, only used it twice, but it seems to do the job.
Bought this one as I’m mostly on the road in rainy manchester and needed something that is sturdy and compact at the same time.
THE GOOD
1. More robust compared to other umbrellas of the same size
2. It can tolerate I would say winds of upto 20 mph.
3. Build quality is better than others (just about).
4. The unlocking mechanism is quite good with the umbrella unfolding with just the press of a button and it is consistent most of the time
THE NOT SO GOOD
1. It’s not cheap. As the title suggests don’t expect miracles.
2. As much as they say it won’t twist on you, it has on me twice. Once winds go above 20 mph, it will struggle.
3. Compared to other umbrellas, it does stay wetter for a longer period of time. Don’t know if it’s the material they use or something else.
4. The company boasts a lot about build quality but as you can see from my pictures it does wear and degrade quite quickly. I have used the umbrella for less than a year
In summary, great umbrella. It would be a very easy recommendation if it was half the price they sell it for. If you’re out and about a lot, then you really have no choice but to go for it and not think too much about the price like me. However, if you only go out in the rain occasionally, then the price isn’t justified I believe
I was in 2 minds if this Umbrella really would be windproof. Well I tried it out today and here is my honest review. I live in a windy coastal town of Ilfracombe, Devon and we certainly get our fair share of wind and rain here. Going for my daily stroll around the local park it started to drizzle so I opened the Umbrella with a touch of a button and was impressed at the speed of erection. The overall size is good but I’d score the handle comfort just 7/10 as I found the weight a little on the heavy side. Whilst standing at the end of the park pond admiring the ducks…the wind had started building up and the brollie took a little shaking but was still good and sturdy. All was well UNTIL…… a gust of wind and I felt the brollie lift up a few inches and I had to hold on firmly. Concerned I would let go as the Umbrella slightly lifted again I grabbed the hold of handle with my other hand as tight as possible and as soon as I did, my whole body lifted off the ground and began slowly raising into the air. Scared I was going to fall I gripped the handle tighter and put on a brave smile as my feet past just inches away from the heads of shocked children who stopped feeding the ducks as they gasped and stared up at me. I was at least 20 ft in the air by now and being scared of heights I closed my eyes as the brollie lifted me over the duck pond and even higher into the air. The brollie felt sturdy and kept me dry from the light showers which i score 9/10 but when a gust of wind came it made a sudden voilent judder, I opened my eyes and saw that I was heading in the direction of the Harbour. I was flying over the rooftops of the harbour shops and got caught a stunning birdeye view of the little chapel on a hill and the Verity Statue. The rain had stopped now and people below where looking up and pointing at me and a seagull flew close, I forgot my fears and let go of the handle with one hand as i reached out to stroke it and missed. Said gull wasnt interested in getting affection from me, he had already made a fast decend to a bunch of unaware holiday makers and the carnage that followed in the next few seconds was shocking. Child screaming, mother shaking her fist, chips sprawled over the floor and the dad yelling bad language as he chased seagull who was now making his way out to sea with his mouthful of chips. That’s when I saw it… the Bristol Channel. Comming to my senses and remembering I’m flying and was heading out to sea I started to panic and began kicking my legs in hope that I would lower. Then…. I was in total shock…. to my left, a short distant away from me came floating down was a kind looking gentleman with grey hair and halfmoon galsses on his nose and a newpaper tucked under one arm. He was also holding silmiar a looking umbrella
He appeared very smartly dressed with a calm but slighty cocky expression as he held onto his handle with just one hand. He smiled at me on his way down and pointed to his own Unbrella handle and amongst the sound of me heavily panting with fear, I heard him faintly say “press the button 3 times” and he then landed ever so gently onto the pier and folded his brollie and walked into the pier cafe. Clicking 3 times i felt myself gently decend towards Veritys (statue) and my feet landed gently on her head and relieved I did not go out to sea. I heard the sound of sirens approaching whilst standing on the statues head looking around for a way to climb down. Thank goodness for our local fire crew who in no time set up there ladder and i was safely brought down. The fire officer rolled his eyes when he saw my new umbrella and said it was the 3rd rescue this week and that the umbrella should come with a warning and instructions. I agreed and thanked everyone and began to walk home. The heavens opened and it was absolutely pooring down with rain… but i was happy to get wet this time… no way was i using the brollie again until i contacted the suppilier and requested instructions. Still waiting to hear back. Overall happy with purchase.
I have been able to test this sturdy umbrella against very high wind and rain. It is excellent quality!
The only small drawback is that it is a little bit heavier than most other compact umbrellas but well worth it.
thanks!
Fits in my bag & does what it says, repels rain, so drys quickly, & opens/closes with a push of a butto
Lovely bright yellow, cheery brolly! Teflon coated, vented too.
Robust and sturdy, push button opening and closing, not handbag sized but not cumbersome either.
The umbrella is really strong and sturdy and withstands strong winds and gusts! The opening/closing mechanism also works like a charm. 🙂
Delivery was quick, the product itself does what it says. Feels great not having to worry about it blowing out from the wind. Been through so many cheap umbrellas that don’t stand a chance with Irish weather.

This is my second time purchasing this umbrella. I’ve had the first since 2017 and finally decided to get a new colour.
It’s sturdy, durable and portable.

Wish the size is a tad smaller to keep it pocket friendly! Overall this is OK for most persons!
Sturdy brolly, perfect for wet and windy days. Personally, I would like a larger handle.
Well made quality product. Easy to hold and operate. Good size cove

My. last two umbrellas snapped under a bit of (rain/wind) pressure. This one is super sturdy.
Well designed and strongly built, it is slightly heavier than its flimsier cousins. A bit too expensive, though.
