Use it on day old unwashed hair, bit of mousse, and put hair in sections. The whole head took 20 mins with long thick hair ! The curls held for the whole day and next day ! This is my second one. The previous one my aunt ‘borrowed’ from me after seeing the results.
Brought this for my wife and she loves it
Curls and Waves in minutes without the weekly visit to the salon.
Really quick and simple, no more 3 hour waits for her to get ready. A couple of minutes and she looks even more gorgeous every time
My hair is not easy to curl! These are easy to use and do a great curl.
This is amazing best curler I have ever used.. my curls stayed out all day and even the next day some were still perfect I was amazed .. I always struggle with the back of my hair but this curler was, after a couple of practices, easy to curl back and they honestly stayed in. I have always used a curling hot brush but this gives me smaller tighter curls that don’t drop too much..love it..the lead is really long tooit has an automatic cut off if hair should get tangled.. comes with a heat mat to put it on in between curling..perfect item all round and does the same job as a high end curler if not better.
This revamp hair curler is amazing. It is so easy to use, light to hold and produces amazing results. It doesn’t take much time to curl my hair which is great improvement from curlers I used in the past. Also, I really like that my hair look shiny and don’t have frizz after using this product.
Other great things to note about this curler is ceramic surface and hair care technology that adjusts the heat to cause least damage. The curler is also filled with oils for healthy hair which just takes it to another level comparing to curlers I used in the past.
This curling wand is incredibly easy to use, and I love the results. After trying several curling wands, I must say it is perfect. Fast heating, no tangle hair worries, easy to pull the hair out, and the curls hold really well. Compared to the traditional hair curler, this is far superior. The curling wand is very easy to use, and the product description is accurate. Excellent quality and premium feel. Highly recommended.
This was surprisingly easy to use. It heats up really quickly and you have four different temps you can use.
You hold a small section of hair with a gap facing away from you. You press the left or right button and it wraps it inside. Super quick and easy. The curl is great.
This is good value and really quick and easy to use.
I am a qualified hairstylist but so far I haven’t tried any of these before. It just felt like a gimmick to me plus I know how to create any type of curls with the traditional styling tools.
But I am quite pleasantly surprised.
First of all, this is made as a professional tool because the lead is long enough to be able to move away from the plug.
It is quite plasticky feeling and fairly lightweight. I like the white colour.
It does make the curls more soft/beachy because when the curl is created it is on medium/smaller size wand inside (it cannot be any bigger/bouncier) and also when still hot after curling, the hair section is pulled down to take it out which makes the curl more narrow and in a way drop. That’s how the beachy type/soft wave is done anyway.
I tried 190degrees at first and then 210 (maximum, that’s what I normally use). I was able to figure out fairly easily how it works even without reading the leaflet.
It does require a bit of practise though, but once mastered it’s easy, and somewhat relaxing watching the hair wind itself up.
I noticed when I kept the spinner run/wind for longer whilst the hair was already wrapped then the curl was somewhat more curly at the very end.
When I used it only to wrap and hold the desired time the curl was beachy/softer.
2 things I encountered:
The curlers turned themselves off a few times, I thought it was the manufacturing flaw but most likely some safety. It happened when I positioned the curlers too close to the head to start with. So that gave me confidence nothing wrong can happen.
But then I was overconfident and I managed to get the hair stacked/tangled and I couldn’t pull it out for a few seconds. I used too big section. I panicked that I would burn my hair but the safety is good and since it turned itself off it wasn’t adding heat.
Overall, it’s handy and I can imagine using this more than I originally thought. Especially for these specific types of curls/waves.
I didn’t keep my hair in for long enough to hear the beep after 10secs but on the photo is what type of curls I created with faster counting to 8-10 on each wrap on 210degrees.
When doing my left side and wrapping out of my face I pressed R button.
And when doing right side (wrapping away from the face) I used the opposite – L button.
My hair is quite long and thick and I had to create quite a lot of sections (that is only a downside, when I used a wand I can use way bigger sections).
It might not work great on very long hair since the wand inside is quite short and when it’s overfilled it can get stuck/turn off.
Overall great tool, I would buy it and I would recommend it!
It comes also nicely wrapped and it doesn’t feel cheap.
This auto hair curler is not cheap at around 90 – but a LOT less than other curlers like an Airwrap. Unlike the Airwrap you cannot use it on damp hair though, only dry.
Apart from that there are similarities. You have 4 heat levels and a barrel that rotates in either direction, just use the arrow pointers. Hold the curler with the button side towards your head. It warms up super fast, feed in a generous strand of hair through the narrow aperture and out of the wide one. Then press the button and hold it down, the curler will do the work for you. A beep tells you your curl is complete, using a different heat setting and amount of hair will get you a soft bouncy curl or a tighter ringlet.
Of course heat is not good for your hair and that is why there are so many styling products on the market to protect it from damage – with the Progloss the ceramic barrel is infused with oils that will help protect your hair. Not sure how long that effect will last though? The cord is very long, and there is a silicone heat mat to protect surfaces (though the barrel does not get terribly hot).
My granddaughter has long straight hair and achieved the desired loose ringlet effect after a few goes – but it really is no use for short hair as you need a good amount of hair to wrap. On my wife’s shorter hair it was much more awkward to use and the effect was rather mad looking random curls!
*edit my curls lasted all day with barely any drop! Colour me impressed.*
This is worth the money, it is so easy and produces ringlets in my hair without burnt ears! So easy.
Comes with a silicone mat for in between curls or to cool down before putting away.
I tested on hair that needed washing. Will be even better on freshly washed dried hair.
Can’t rate this highly enough !
10/10
This arrives beautifully boxed with a full colour cardboard sleeve & the box measures approx 34.5cm x 15.5cm x 12.5cm.
It would be a easy to wrap & make a fabulous gift for anyone who likes to curl their hair – especially if they struggle with the regular style of tongs.
Anyone who gets this as a present is lucky because it’s brilliant.
From the second you open this it feels like a higher end product.
Inside the sleeve, there is a black (magnetic catch closing) box with discreet branding on the top.
Inside, the curler is sat in a moulded plastic insert, with the 3 pin plug, a heat resistant mat & the instruction booklet below it.
This has a really decent almost 3m long lead on a swivel connection with a hanging hook built into the swivel joint.
It won’t tangle as you move it round to do your hair because of the swivel joint & the generous length of lead means you don’t have to crouch close to the socket.
This is incredibly easy to use.
You plug it in, turn it on & pick the temperature (clearly labelled on it with LEDs & very intuitive to figure out even if you aren’t looking at the instructions).
Give it a minute (if that) to warm up & get curling.
It took me a couple of goes before I remembered you have to keep holding down the button to make it curl your hair (takes about 10-15 seconds per curl) but once I did it was an absolute doddle.
You choose the direction of the curl (clockwise or anticlockwise just pick the arrow that goes the way you want your curl to go) & thread your hair through & you get a gorgeous, bouncy long lasting curl as a result.
It makes a quiet beep to tell you the curl is done & you just let go of the direction button & slide your curl out.
There is an on/off button on the device itself so you don’t have to plug/unplug from the mains if you plan to use it often (I do, my hair looks that good.)
I have the sort of hair that if I spend a lot of time doing Curly Girl I have lovely curls, but honestly I can’t keep up the regimen & I miss my favourite shampoo etc…
My hair looks fine if I straighten it, but if I don’t it tends towards being a bit bushy/frizzy with sort of waves & I spend a lot of time with it in a ponytail as a result.
I have tried many of the curling tong types over the years but usually by the time I’ve done the last ‘curl’ the first ones already seem to have dropped out completely & it just never looks that good.
This gives me beautiful defined curls with ease that are still there (very slightly dropped because I didn’t use any product at all) hours later.
Although it comes with a heat mat, it’s only the central bit that gets very hot & the outside of the top half does get warm, but not so warm I couldn’t put it down on the side (I forgot to unpack the mat when I did my hair because I wanted to see what it would look like) to cool.
This feels really high quality, it’s results are awesome & I’m ditching all other tongs for this one.
I’m not sure how good this would be on quite short hair, but on midlength to long it’s really good.
Very highly recommended.
I really did think this curler could end up being put in a draw as I would find it too difficult to use. I was very wrong, this product is excellent and I find it so easy to use, the curl size is dependent on how big the section of your hair and the curls lasted all day for me.
LOVE this! I had long written off curling my own hair after years of struggling with rollers, curling wands and straighteners (not coordinated enough to get on with any of them!) but I can finally curl my hair!!
Tried my sister’s after she raved about it and had ordered my own 5 minutes later. Super easy to use and produces amazing curls. You can alter the curl with the temperature and by brushing out afterwards if required to get anything from beach waves to full on ringlets.
Comes with handy heat proof mat and the outside doesn’t get hot so no need to worry about burns unless you stick your fingers inside.
100% recommend.
Works really well! I have very long thick hair and it creates lovely curls. It is a little fiddly to use at times but improves with practice. I think my hair is too long for it and feel it would work better on shorter hair however I am very pleased with my purchase. It was delivered quickly and well packaged. It is exactly as described.
OMG love these curlers!!! these are a must 5 stars all the way.
I am rubbish at doing curlers in my hair but this curler made everything so easy to use and fast.
Yeyyyyyyy i have finally found a curler that is fast safe and makes my hair look fab.
I had never heard of an automatic curler before so I was very intrigued and excited by this product from the moment I saw it. I’m not very good at styling my own hair so I thought I would try this product in the hope it would make my life easier! It arrived in beautiful packaging with a useful heat mat included in the box. I read through the instruction booklet to make sure I used the product correctly and after that it was so straightforward! There are different heat settings and heat up time is super fast. I was slightly anxious about my hair potentially getting caught in the barrel at first but when you press the button, hair is automatically drawn into the barrel and you can’t feel any pulling or resistance at all. I managed to create lovely tight curls which even stayed in until the next morning (although slightly looser). It has an auto-shut off feature after 30 minutes which is great for health and safety. This product definitely makes my life easier and it is my new go to for curling my hair!! Highly recommend to anyone
Love, love, love these curlers!! Have been using a wand for many years and never quite got the hang of it or perfected my curls, not to mention the endless burning myself, but with this curler it’s so easy and quick! Very impressed!
I received this item from the Amazon Vine Program.
I love curling my hair but I’m used to doing it with a straightening iron. I thought the curler was easy to use. I was wrong. It’s easy to use in terms of how to operate it but I was not able to achieve the curls that I want in my first few tries. I don’t think it’s a negative thing though because same with the straightening iron I had to practice several times before I got used to it. I had to know how much hair or how thick I should curl at a time or whether to turn left or right. But now I’m loving this curler. I always bring a straightening iron when I go on a holiday so I guess this curler will replace that iron from now on.
It is easy to operate – First power on and then set the desired temperature among the 4 settings and then wait for the heat light to stop flashing. Get a portion of hair and then feed it to the curler. Press left or right – hold the button until you hear a beep which will be in roughly 10 seconds. That’s it!
Best feature I like is that it automatically shuts down after 30 minutes. I can’t remember how many times I have to go back to the house just to check if I have unplugged my straightening iron before.
Overall I love this curler. It took me several times before I got the right curls but it’s worth it.
4 stars.
It took a lot of experimenting to get the results I wanted. I was either feeding in too much or too little hair, then I would forget to twist from one way to the other when I switched sides. The results were much better when a friend lent a hand! The device is easy to use. Just power on, set the temp to what you require (choice of 4 heat settings). When the heat light stops flashing you take a kock of hair, feed it across the curler and press a button depending on the direction you want to curl (clockwise / anti-clockwise). You hold the button down until there is a bleep (around 10 seconds) then gently lower the curler. The curls are moderately loose and you will likely need hairspray to keep them in place as they do fall out fairly easily.
The lead length is really good (around 3m). It comes with a Euro 2pin plug embedded in a 3-pin adaptor. You can remove the adaptor if you want to use a shaver socket in a bathroom. The lead has a swivel adaptor to prevent lead tangle. It comes with a silicone heat pad to protect surfaces and if you forget to turn the curler off, it will do so itself after 30 mins of non use.
It is a great way of adding some curls to your hair, but cheaper ‘manual’ tongs will get much the same result.
A review from the wife… This is an expensive looking curler that comes in impressive packaging. This is by far the easiest method I have found to curl my hair. It comes with an instruction booklet which is mostly good but with one inaccuracy. You need to hold the curler with the buttons facing you when using it. Whilst the booklet says this in writing, the picture shows it facing away from you. It definitely works with the buttons facing you so do use it this way. I found it best to use 2-3 cm strands of hair to feed into the barrel. As tempting as it is to user thicker layers, this gives the best results and overall saves more time. If you overload it, it gets stuck and shuts off. If this happens, just move the barrel downwards slowly and it releases your hair. It is very easy to use, feed the hair into the barrel, hold a button down for ten seconds and voila! You have the choice to curl hair in a particular direction (there are two buttons which curl either right or left) so you can get them symmetrical on both sides of your head. This is quite useful for someone like me who has poor spatial skills! You can also vary how far up your hair you want the curls to go by moving the barrel closer or further away from your scalp. As the hot curler iron is actually enclosed, you have very little hand contact with heat with this device so this reduces the chances of burns. I think this produced very good results. I had run out of hairspray on the first day I tried this and surprisingly, the curls lasted for over a day and a half even without hairspray which was fairly impressive. I have fairly thick hair and it took approximately fifteen minutes to curl all my hair. I did find that my hair was quite dry and frizzy even when used with heat protection though. Unfortunately I didn’t see the benefits of the smoothing oils as advertised. The curlers also come with a sturdy heat mat. The cord is generously long which makes it much easier to use. I like that it also comes with a cable tie so the cord can be neatly tied away for storage.
So whilst this will definitely how I will be curling my hair from now on, I definitely wouldn’t do it very often and will use good conditioner treatments in between to help with the dryness.
I was really excited to try this as my mum brought me a different version that my hair kept getting stuck in, so I was really pleased to see there was no way my hair could get trapped in this one.
From first impressions this looks really impressive with the matte finish to it, it feels really nice in the hand and is not too heavy, I normally get arm ache from curling my hair but with this I did not.
This heats up quite fast I curled my hair on 210 it did take a few tries to get used to it, but I found the slower I took the barrel off the more curl I ended up with, I love the fact that if your hair does jam the barrel ( don’t worry it wont get stuck) it automatically turns the curler off.
I can’t honestly say I was overly impressed with the curls and I did have to keep going back over them once I had finished which resulted in it taking quite a while, but I am hoping with some more practice I might change my mind.
Also included in the box is a heat resistant mat so you don’t have to worry about burning anything when you put it down and if you forget to turn it off it will automatically do it on its own after 30 minutes .
Overall this curler feels and looks great but does take some getting used to.
Firstly this comes in a very nice box – looks very professional. On opening it, the actual product itself looks a bit intimidating – I had fears of my hair being tangled up in it. Turns out, it’s actually pretty easy to use. The instructions were a bit confusing as it states to hold it with the buttons facing towards you yet shows the diagram with the person holding it with the buttons facing the front. I went for holding it at a slight angle so that I could see the opening in the mirror but still angled with the buttons towards my face.
There are 4 different temperature settings for lose or tight curls (though will also depend on your hair type. I went for the 190 degree as I felt the low temps weren’t giving enough of a curl.
The barrel inside spins left or right depending on what way you want your curls to sit and allows you to have symmetrical curls on each side. I went for the right button when doing my right hand side and holding the device in my right hand and then using the left button to do my left side.
The key is to make sure you don’t use too much hair each time. I did once and it shut off and all I had to do was pull it down and my hair released – no tangling! Left each curl to cool while I moved on to the next section and at the end gave them a gentle separation with my fingers. As someone who has never been able to successfully curl my own hair (I’ve tried using my straighteners and a curling wand) I was delighted at how easy this was. Granted the back of the head is a bit awkward to get the hair in but utterly delighted with this!
I have wavy, frizzy hair that I usually straighten after blow drying, but occasionally I like to curl my hair with a curling iron. I had the chance to try this alternative product to curl my hair and here are my thoughts after an initial test:
– The device looks impressive straight out of the box. It is large and heavy with a nice matte finish, a durable cord that freely swivels, and comes with a handy heat safe mat.
– There are only a few buttons which makes this easy to set up. A long press on the power button turns it on, then there is a temperature setting button, and left and right direction buttons.
– The temperature light blinks when the device is heating up. When it has reached the required temperature, the light will remain on constantly.
– To use the device you have to first portion out your hair into 3cm sections, or so the instructions recommend. I found that 3cm sections were a bit thick and the rotating part struggled with it, 2cm sections work better. This device has an auto shut off function if the hair strands get stuck on the rotating part.
– I had to read the instructions to work out how to actually position the hair. You have to hold the device with the buttons side pointed toward your hair/head. Then position a hair strand from the front of the device toward the back, going around one side of the internal wand, and then down through the gap at the back.
– Holding the end of the hair strand with the strand in position, you then press the desired direction button. It will beep after 10 seconds when done but you don’t have to wait that long. I found 5 or 6 seconds was enough on my mid length hair.
– You have to hold the hair strand with the top front of the device as close to the scalp as you want the curl to start.
– Please note that the instructions state to hold the device with the buttons facing you (which is correct) but then they confuse you by showing a diagram of a woman holding it the other way.
– I found it was easy to use the device on the front of my hair but it became increasingly difficult as i worked toward the sides and back of my head. I had to keep stopping to think about which direction the device was facing and had to keep checking in the mirror to see if I was feeding the hair through correctly. When I use my regular curling iron I can curl strands without looking.
– After testing several strands (see photos) I was happy with the curls at the front but not with the side curls as I wasn’t holding the device win the right position every time.
– However, despite the curls being too messy, I did notice that the hair itself looked very smooth and shiny after being curled.
Overall I would say that this device can give you beautiful, shiny and more uniform curls and may be more comfortable to use than curling irons that require a lot of wristwork. This is especially true for a hair stylist who may have to curl the hair of several clients a day.
However, it does require quite a lot of practice to get perfect and, for me, it ended up being somewhat time consuming and fiddly. I don’t know if I am ready to throw away my curling iron just yet.
