It took me at least 3 hours online with tech support for my POS program to get this working. It printed outside the program (Rain Retail), but when attempting to print within the POS program it would not print despite pointing everything in settings to the printer. It turns out there is a separate file called “Rongta printer tool” where you can change the emulation. Once it was changed to emulate the Star printer, it worked fine, though it does print rather faintly. (Maybe that is a setting as well…I have yet to discover)!
The printer itself is very straightforward and easy to use.
Looking for a no bells and whistles thermal receipt printer? You found it. This printer is pretty much ready to use out of the box and takes less than 5 minutes to set up and get going. If you’re just gonna hook this up to a standard POS system and that is all you will use it form then you will have no issues.
However, it is important to note, this printer will NOT work with: square, clover, chrombooks, uber eats and is NOT Wi-Fi/Bluetooth enabled. That limits to much of what you can do with it.
To me it’s important to have documentation to support the product, this comes with a mini-CD with complete documentation and driver. I was able to setup and use the printer in very little time. Printer quality is fantastic and am very impressed with the fast-printing capabilities. I like the ability to connect via USB, Serial or Ethernet. Use Ethernet to connect to Wi-Fi router and then have Wi-Fi connection to the printer. All very nice. The unit is as the vendor describes.

We installed the wrong driver.. and the receipts did not print correctly.. we were so very busy and needed help fixing the issue! Tech support.. very fast and fixed the issue with a photo receipt.. this company is very good to deal with.. and the printer is doing great!!!
I got this set up with a cash drawer. At first I didn’t understand the setup but after I got it figured out it works great. I have my logo at the top of the receipt with time and date and address information, opens cash drawer either before or after printing and it all works as intended. Love this printer. Compares to other Star and Epson receipt printers quite well that I have used.
