Its great although i had trouble keeping the handle fully up, until i gave it a yank and then it stayed in the fully up position for wheeling around the airport.
Well built and designed case. Plenty of pockets for smaller items. Very sturdy. Love it!
The wheels are strong and look to last a longtime, the lock feature is relatively easy to use, it is however not very compact and would require support especially if not fully filled while travelling. It is also heavy reducing the actual luggage weight, given that airlines have weight restrictions
This purchase was to replace an identical Samsonite that was robbed from a train after many years of good service. I’ve travelled all over the world with a Samsonite S’Cure. They are tough and very hard wearing but really easy to wheel because of the four wheels. I bought one originally because I liked the hard shell and the point lock that seemed way more sturdy than a zip lock soft shell case. The stolen original car was about ten years old and the locks, wheels and handle were all still fine. It’s not the prettiest case and looks like a tank but if you want something long lasting, strong and very secure then I recommend this.
Bought 2 of these cases due to being a Samsonite product as fed up with airlines damaging my previous ones and thought these would hopefully be more robust. The colour wasn’t my first choice but it’s a lot more attractive than it looks on the web site, they appear to move easily and look roomy inside I can’t say anything about the locking system yet as like may others our holiday was cancelled due to Covid so they remain unused.
I work at sea and therefore do some serious travelling. This is the best suitcase I’ve ever had!
The compartments inside are very intuitive and work well. The wheels are effortless to move the case, even when I had 30kg inside! The locks are well designed too.
I have not used it yet but I’m looking forward to, it’s definitely an upgrade to my previous luggage. I now have 2 Large Samsonite Cases for an up and coming holiday.
A good solid and secure case for air travel. It does not get wet as a fabric case does and choosing a colour other than black makes identification easier. So far has survived more than 30 flights with just a few superficial scratches. Works for me.
Extremely pleased with the look feel and quality of this suitcase. Internal zip fittings very useful. Wasn’t quite sure if it would be easy to pack but has turned out to be perfec
The TSA007 lock has failed on first use. I have three other suitcases in this range all ok but for a case costing 173+ it’s not good enough. I cannot find a supplier of a key to open it. I am about to take a screwdriver to it.
Can’t fault it. This is my third one, My wife kept packing first and leaving me her zippy one., so I had to get myself a new one Light, solid, secure, reliable. Haven’t needed Samsonite aftercare but I hear it’s good. This size is just about right for staying under the 23kg limit when fully packed.
This case is just great. Manoeuvres well, offers excellent protection and is lightweight. After six flights it was barely marked. I liked the three point closing mechanism far more secure than zips.
Typical Samsonite kit, one of the few that doesn’t use zips (A good thing). Even lighter than my previous Samsonite (which was killed by the baggage handlers after 10yrs of use). Great case
All in all, my first suitcase (at least the first one I’ve bought for a considerable price, or in this size range, for long-distance travelling) and a good first choice.
The one singular issue (and I mean it, there were no others. It survived being doused in two hours of mountain rainstorm without soaking through!) is the wheels. I mean, they survived being dragged through a forest for 20 km, they survived being schlepped through ponds full of sand and they were slick as ever, but a short 20 m stretch of gravel ruined them.
Samsonite need to install some bigger wheels or have them as an option! Preferably ones that are water and/or gravel proof.
I went away for 10 days to Portugal and was worried if a size medium would be big enough. The case had plenty of room and was easy to manoeuvre even when fully loaded.
The locks were easy to use and due to the 3 point locking mechanism, the case was easy to close.
I’ve been on a lot of holidays and this is the first time I’ve not been totally hacked off lugging the luggage around or needing to find a trolley. Nice case well suited to it’s purpose.
Perfect for two week travel. Stylish and sturdy on the outside with a good range of packing arrays on the inside and the wheels & handles make it so convenient to cart or glide as you go.
I bought this to replace my broken soft side case, I’ve never owned a hard shell before, what a difference.
The name Samsonite is a very well respected name and this case lives up to that reputation. Plenty of pockets, a suit carrier and a zipped pocket in the lid of the case. It’s been on 2 holidays now, in just a month and apart from a couple of scuffs it still looks like new. I’m thinking of buying a second one, so that shows how good I personally think it is.
I’ve used this several time on flights. It wheels along well on gravel as well as hard floors, it’s sturdy and it performs as it should. It’s small but has to be to meet Ryanair and Wizzair carry-on specifications.
Great Suitcase light as a feather and easy to use. Take care when setting the code as you can lock yourself out. If this happens a local locksmith can help you get back in. This happened to me – impressed as that is the idea for the suitcase to be light and have a tight security system. PERFECT
Great so far. Been using this precise model it for a couple years now and I’ve never had problems. Comes with a suit-holder (which I never used) and the separation between the two compartments is nice (includes zipped pockets).
Loved everything about this product. Plenty of storage and straps to hold things in place. Locks easy to use. Easy to adjust handle and manoeuvre. Lovely colour and easily spotted on the baggage carousel.
This survived admirably on a recent trip to Dubai and then Mauritius and back, just one small scuff. Would recommend highly.
I bought this because it matches our suitcases and we were very happy with them. There is plenty of room to pack enough in for 2 or 3 nights away. The handle moves easily and the case is easy to manoeuvre. Recommend.
I bought one for my summer holiday this year it’s so light easy locks wheels are very smooth whatever is the surface they roll like air inside compartment something special very posh and convenient brilliant can’t say more love it!
Excellent case. I’d only ever buy a clamshell type suitcase, I’ve seen too many so called flimsy “hard shell” cases crack or buckle or zip shut cases split open! (I used to work at Heathrow)
My trusty old Delsey case has lasted nearly 30years and I’m only changing it because it really is just too heavy. This Looks like it’ll last another 30years easily.
Ordered this case on 4th Aug 17 to replace a pre year 2003 Carlton hard case and it was delivered on 9th Aug 17 from Germany.like the interior pockets (which replace the need for two elasticated straps) these are attached at four corners(adjustable in height) it well made so hopefully the case will last for years ( Carlton case incidentally is still usable just pain to lug as only 2 wheels) new case going for its 1st airport outing beginning sep
very fast delivery
product exactly as expected.
inside all the compartments are well organised and there was even a cover for a business suite, not expected but glad surprise.
in the end everything was perfect as advertised and even better so… couldn’t ask for more
I needed a case for work which was more ‘business’ & less ‘holiday’ looking than my existing cases. Decided on this model due to the weight, built in locks and the internal pockets and features. Amazon was by far the best price and I’m delighted with the product. Can’t wait to use it!!
I rarely write a product review before actually using it, but in this case (no pun) I have to state how impressed I was with the supplier which was based in Germany. The price was way lower than any on Amazon’s other suppliers and over 80 cheaper than John Lewis.
The suitcase was ordered on the 27th and arrived on the 30th with a 1-hour time slot given on the day. This is far better service than the majority of UK suppliers. Excellent service.
Anyway, down to the suitcase.
Impressed by the build quality but as it’s a Samsonite I rather expected it. Opening up the case revealed a smart interior with lots of removable/zip-up pockets/compartments.
I like the locking clasps. I was getting a bit fed up with struggling with zips which have a tendency to either stick or even fail.
It runs beautifully smoothly on its 8 (4×2) wheels.
As said, I’ve yet to fully pack it and subject to our next long-haul flight in a month or-so time but I cannot believe this case will be anything but robust and reliable especially after reading others’ reviews..
First of all i have to thank Amazon.co.uk team , the delivery was very fast and arrived earlier than expected , also the price in Amazon.uk is the best for this model , and for now I will give 4 stars since I did not use my luggage yet however I have the same model that I bought from Samsonite shop in Lviv city in Ukraine , and I tried it in 2 flights and it got some superficial scratches but no significant damage , I hope it lasts many years in a good condition . it is light weight , very nice 4 wheels and it carries not less than 20 kg . I just have question about the 5 years international warranty , how it works although the warranty certificate was not stamped , if any one can answer this question I will be thankful , I will update my review after using this Samsonite in some travels , but generally I am very happy to have it .
Have only used it once, very spacious, but a bit heavy, stood up to the journey well. A bit disappointed that one half is unlined. Only time will tell if this was a good buy.
Lightweight and sturdy, I do quite a few long weekend trips around Europe and so this is the perfect size for carry on luggage on all airlines as well as those pesky budget airlines – Easyjet and Ryanair. It is sleek looking and I have had many compliments on what an attractive looking luggage it is. Glides along smoothly and despite it receiving a bit of a knock by a vehicle on it’s debut in Naples, it is still working well and has minimal damage. I’ve only had it for just under a month so far and already brought it on three weekends away and been very happy with it each time.
The three clamp locks around the sides versus the usual zipper was new to me but I have had no issues with it so far and find it quite quick to close and snap close when I’m in a rush.
Not sure how it would fare in the hold, but fingers crossed that won’t be necessary any time soon.
A good solid piece of hand luggage. I like the soft partitioning inside as it allows you to easily separate clothes and shoes. Very easy to move around and having handles on two sides gives plenty of flexibility for when you can’t use the wheels (e.g. escalators). Amazon sometimes label the colour as Brown – but it’s charcoal grey (almost black).
I bought this suitcase last week and made my first trip on Saturday. I had also invested in a suitcase cover to protect it from scuffs and scratches. It arrived safely at my destination and seemed to be in one piece. However, when I opened it up, I discovered that one of the “luxury dividers” which are attached to the shell by a small plastic clip had come apart. The little hooks on the clip had broken off and presumably disappeared into the groove of the suitcase. I’m a bit disappointed that a basic design item of the suitcase would break on its very first use. I now have a case that is five days old and can no longer hold the clothing in place. I’m hoping that Samsonite will replace the broken clip so that the suitcase can be used again.
Two weeks after writing the review above, I have to add this postscript to commend Samsonite for their excellent customer service. I wrote to Samsonite UK who forwarded my request to Samsonite Spain, and today I received not one, but two replacement parts for the broken clip – posted directly to where I’m staying at the moment in Spain. Excellent customer service, Samsonite.
Expensive – but all quality suitcases are. It was recommend in the Which Magazine, and it lives up to its reputation. I travel regularly, and make maximum use of my hold luggage allowance to destinations in Africa and South America, and well s the usual European resorts – and this suitcase is holding up well.
The suitcase arrived on time. When I set the lock combination and closed the suitcase it would not open. I rang Samsonite and they said I may have moved the combination wheels whilst closing it they suggested I go through the whole sequence of number combinations. I did this without any luck. In the end I set the numbers to the combination I had set and gave the lock a hard thump and it opened. The mechanism must have jammed but now appears to work OK. There is the provision for the suitcase to be opened by a key, but these are only held by US customs.
Usual excellent Samsonite build quality. This is my second purchase of a S’cure Spinner. This latest upgraded model now includes a fully lined lid section and integrated pockets in the main section. Even supplied with a separate zipped garment cover ideal for protecting suits etc. My wife was particularly pleased with these new improvements.
Used this latest product for the first time filled with a 24Kg load for a long haul trip and pleased with its performance.
I have a larger version of this case (which is excellent) and some other carry ons that are too large for some airlines. So it was natural to purchase this when I booked on a budget airline.
I was not disappointed. Built to the same high standard as it’s big brother and at a great price. Looking forward to using it.
yet to use the case on travels (Dec 15 to Caribbean will be the test), but looks reasonably sturdy – and finish and locks and interior all seem reasonably good quality. Arrived well packed and to schedule
We havent used it yet so not tested in transit. The locks and wheels all feel very sturdy but the outer shell has quite a bit of give on the front so i think it will be fine fully packed but may ‘press in’ if half loaded. A good size for 2 weeks in the sun!
Very pleased with item. Really smart case at a great price and very light. Purchased the DLX model because it has an additional handle on top of the case making lifting so much easier. Another Samsonite case purchased recently didn’t have an additional handle and had to be lifted by the extendable handle which meant uneven weight distribution and bashed legs. Subsequently purchased another in red but this shows every scrape/mark and lees interior fittings.
I am really impressed with this case. The 8 rolling wheels make for a super smooth track over most terrain.
It could be lighter, but to get anything lighter you are paying 3x more.
Durability wise this case has been on 12 flights in the past year. the handle has not gone slack (common problem with roller cases like this) and the body shows light scuffs, but the colour hides them well.
The internal compartments are a nice touch on the Deluxe model, especially the wet pocket that provides nice peace of mind that if your shampoo bursts open, you case contents are still safe.
Very happy with this case. I was even happier to see that many flight crew use this case too, so Samsonite must be doing something right.
A tip though.. be sure to tie something to the case to help you identify your case at the baggage carousel… there is likely to be more than one of these on your fligh
I always buy Samsonite luggage and there’s a reason for that: They are built well and thus do a superb job of protecting your belongings in transit. I do my fair share of long-haul flights and this case, like the rest of mine comes out the other end with scars and grazes and nothing inside amiss. This case it REALLY light and the up-right spinner concept has transformed my travelling experience. There is a huge amount of internal storage too, which is great.
Looked at a number of different cases varying in price. Saw these in John Lewis and looked strong and light and a good size as needed them for long haul trips. Ordered via Amazon through Wardow as price much cheaper. Service was first class as arrived much quicker than expected and added bonus they are the deluxe model having storage compartments, suit carrier and divider covers included (so made the price even better value). Actually on holiday at the moment so used for first time yesterday, they are so easy to wheel and although not full up to the max 23kgs allowance for the journey out (but I’m sure they will be for return journey) felt light to carry when required. The wheels have survived their first trip and cases all intact. So far extremely impressed with the cases, the price and the service from Amazon/Wardow. Would definitely recommend.
Bought together with a Turquoise Samsonite S’Cure 69/25 also from Wardow – Germany. Have another two older Samsonite cases of a similar design that have been in regular use for 14 years+ but getting a bit tired and bruised now so time to replace. High quality spec as usual from Samsonite and worth the added expense in my eyes for peace of mind regarding strength & security. Would never buy a ‘zipped’ case, so this perfectly fits with my requirements. Comes with 5 year warranty so another plus point. Not very keen on the TSA key hole on the main lock for use by the American security agencies, but should they required to look in my case at least they wont have to rip the lock off – not a regular destination for me so not too bothered. All-in-all an excellent all-rounder.
Great case for the price although the airline carrier mishandled it and there’s a stress mark on the corner that’s not pretty. Wasn’t happy as my 20yr old delsey never suffered from and as this was its 1st outing not sure if it would last as long. Given its a softer material and much easier to travel with the extra wheels and glides over airport carpets with ease. I’m still happy with it and the service from wardrobe a++
Ordered 2 of these cases to take on a tour of Italy. Service from the seller was exemplary and we have just come back from a fortnight in Italy during which time they have been thrown around planes, ferries, coaches, taxis and hotel porterage systems with 5 changes of hotel with packing and unpacking 10 times. They have survived completely intact, just a bit dusty. Love the colour, the locking system and the handling. Perfect.
Robust product . easy to handle through airports, very mobile. You have to change your idea of packing and lay the case flat to pack both halves, this way they take an amazing amount of luggage. The DX model has internal removable pockets and partitions that will prove very useful in time. This case does not have zips round the outside edge but the halves slot into a groove which makes them water resistant. We think this is more secure than zips. With locks on 3 sides(1a combination lock) they seem very secure.
Extremely pleased when first purchased, however the first time it was used it was not completely full and one side became indented
and is now permanately out of shape. It will now deter me from buying the other sizes to match.
