Considering the price, good value for money but very poor performance from this tablet – battery life, viewing angles, operating speed not great. But again, it’s a budget tablet and for just over 100 you cannot expect flagship performance.

I got this for my mum to replace her old Samsung tablet which unfortunately took a tumble. She’s delighted with it – the screen is nice and bright, the touch interaction is responsive, the speakers are surprisingly good, and the battery life is excellent.

Bought as present as my wife always complaining kids and I hog the tv. Downloaded all the apps for her, bought matching case which acts as a stand and some headphones. My wife loves it.

I use a tablet for streaming. Easy to set up straight out of the box with Samsung and Google connectivity. Takes a while to download all the new apps you need. Screen resolution is superb as is sound. Buffering has been minimal…… out of the box, I’m delighted. I’m only using it for relaxation and pleasure not work.

Use this for art projects. Image quality is excellent . Having being used to Apple products, i initially found this difficult to navigate. Over time i have become more proficient with its handling. Works for me !

I needed a new tablet for streaming after my old one would not update a few apps. I saved over 120 compared to the latest version but this works perfectly for streaming SkyGo, Netflix, Disney+ etc.
Screen & sound are amazing and decemt battery life too

Bought this to replace a very old iPad Air first gen and a Fire 10 tablet which started doing odd things. Samsung is a very nice tablet with a lovely vivid screen. I only use it to watch podcasts and a bit of Youtube or Disney/Netflix. Everything is fine but it is very slow to start up. I can wait for 2 mins for this to complete hence loses a star. But, for 117, you can’t go wrong!

I like this tablet it has so many features. Very good value for money. I will say it’s a mid budget tablet nothing like the cheap tablets that don’t last long. This one I found to be high quality and no issues whatsoever.
    Purchase with confidence!

    to the earlier model.

For 129, I must say this is very worth it. Been using it primarily for studying as I wanted to have bigger screen especially doing some practice tests. I was able to buy it as NEW and never been used as it was in samsung package. Got the charger and adapter as well. The camera is not really good but that’s not what i’m after anyway.

I have been using it for almost a week now and I am very happy with it. It anything happens, i will update my review.

    Great buy!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is the first tablet I have even owed that’s not a Kindle Fire.
I wanted the new Fire 10 for it’s larger screen, but due to finances I had to settle with something else.
I goggled the top 10 tablets of 2023 and this A7 was number 3 in that list due to it’s price and specs. The A8 was number 2.
I’m not really one for games, so didn’t need the bells and whistles for that aspect, I mainly listen to music, watch boxsets or the odd film, or listen to podcasts while I’m cross stitching, lol.
It’s also useful for marking of charts through pattern keeper.
I have it attached to my Lowery Stand via the chart holder attachment and my own custom made chart board.
For me this is ideal, the larger screen is a godsend, the old Fire being the 7 inch one. The size fits perfectly on my setup, it has a headphone port which for me is essential as well, as my headphones aren’t bluetooth and I’m also picky about my headphones, it’s hard to find a pair that doesn’t hurt my ears – the pair I use are wired so I needed the port.
At the time of purchase it was on sale, the price should have been 220, if that was the case I wouldn’t have been able to afford it, so the timing for the sale was just right, lol.
It’s updated itself to Android 12 along with a few pre-installed apps which I’ve just left on anyway, like Netflix which I have an account and Spotify which I use for my podcasts.
I installed Disney+ and Amazon Prime through the Play store with no problems (all this is new to me, lol) and the one game I do play odd occasions, Hidden City.
The tablet is very fast compared to the Fire, I’m usually waiting for it to load stuff, or the sound like skips sometimes, but with this A7 I have had no such problems.
For my own personal requirements, I couldn’t be happier with this tablet. I haven’t used it to it’s full potential, I haven’t had it long and still finding my way around, like I said I’ve never had a tablet like this before, but I’ve installed a micro card from the old Fire to the A7, this just wanted to be formatted and away it went and it’s also capable of linking to your phone so you can call and send texts on it – this is probably old news to some, but I didn’t know you could do that, lol. Not like I would use that function, but impressed it’s there, lol.
So 5 stars here from me and I would highly recommend to others.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersReally great product. More compact than my last 10.1″ STab. Fast with 3gb ram and screen quality is excellent. Slightly cheaper than the A8, but there is no real difference at all. Good buy, great seller. A++++

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI confess this is my first tablet, but I could not be happier with it. It meets all my needs that I purchased it for such as reading Kindle books, keeping up to date on social media, watching online TV and Amazon Prime, listening to podcasts and reading magazines online that I subscribe to. I found it quite intuitive to set up and have linked it to my home wifi and wireless printer right out of the box.. I am now retired and not a techie, so if I can do this then I reckon anyone can. I have also added all my favourite apps, and it is so much easier to use the large screen rather than my old iPhone 7, and the battery life is proving to be good. I have also bought a protective case from which fits it perfectly, and an OASO stylus pen to keep my fingermarks off the screen and it works fine if not so detailed if writing notes, and added a 128mb MicroSD card for all the photos I take. Very happy with my early Christmas present!

    Great table

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI bought this and waited until I had used it for a few weeks. I have Samsung phones so this was my first time trying a Samsung tablet. It is handy as it works excactly like the phone to go back and clost items. There is only one issue I find with the tablet. when the wifi is on say if you are watching a programme or a movie the battery drains so fast. When I picked it up last night battery was fully. I watched two 40 min episodes and by the time I had finished the second the battery was down to 15% Very disappointing. But if the wifi is turned off the battery live is very good so if you are using it to watch movies, tv shoes I would recommend you download them and watch them when wifi is swithed off to preserve your battery life.

On the plus side the screen resolution is superb.

THe back key can be a bit slow or takes a few swipes to get to go back but if you are used to samsung phones you will know what to do.

I had previously bought a Huaweii Tablet whose battery life was better with wifi but had an issue using Netflix. To view a programe you had to someimes shut out of Netflix to go back in to be able to access the programme.

No such problems with the Samsung. It is a very good tablet, fast and nice feel but just watch out on the battery life if watching streaming

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersI bought this to replace a worn out lenovo which I primarily used as an android gaming device, as well as the occasional movie watching.

The technology for most budget tablets is slow to make progress compared to smartphones. Most under 100 still have slow ancient quad core chips, 16gb of memory, 1gb of ram and dim screens with poor viewing angles, as well as tinny sounding mono speakers. Or there’s the passable amazon fire models which are ok for casual users or kids, but you’re locked into their ecosystem and can’t get Google play store without fiddling about. Basically if you want some half-decent performance from your tablet, it is worthwhile spending the extra money on more acceptable hardware. But not silly money on flagship tech, there is a middle ground!

Therefore, I was pleased to see Samsung have updated their offering a fairly speedy octa core with 3gb of ram. This is a lot for a budget tablet considering the lack of hardware enthusiasm from other brands. There is only one other brand which is fair competition and that’s lenovo. I will admit I tried their M10 first, I usually prefer the clean stock android experience they provide, but I returned it due to a fault. I’m glad I purchased this Samsung A7 instead. It certainly has a more premium feel upon using it. Personal preference but I’m not a fan of Samsung’s One UI so I did install Nova launcher for a more enjoyable user experience.

This tablet is fast. Scrolling through social media is a breeze. Video playback is instant and smooth. The screen is bright, sharp and responsive, as I have come to expect from Samsung screens. The quad atmos speakers are surprisingly decent even when turned up loud.

It handles games well. The only limitation being the 32gb of internal storage, so don’t expect to be able to download bulkier games. The games you can fit on it run extremely well, it is capable of running detailed 3d game worlds. Also in your standard android puzzle games, the loading times are noticeably quicker and the visuals are bright and colourful.

To conclude, this is a good piece of hardware. Yes it’s more expensive and creeping towards more mid-range than budget, but given the state of other tablet hardware available, it is the best bang-for-buck choice available at the moment if you can stretch your budget to it.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI replaced a broken Acer Iconia One 7 with this Galaxy A7 Tab and they are in a different league in both build quality and performance. The high definition screen on this Samsung is stunning and the speakers pack a very decent punch. The Atmos surround effect is nice through the quad speakers and the sample music track that comes on the tablet shows the effect off really well. The speakers fire out from the edge so you can use it on any surface without muffling the sound.

There’s two different app stores on the tablet because it’s got both Google Play and Samsung’s own app store. In the Samsung one there’s a plethora of exclusive offers and free apps for the tablet.

Battery life seems great so far too, it is quite large though so takes some time to charge with the supplied adaptor. I may try my Anker Qualcomm certified quick charge adaptor with it next time. There was quite a lot of updates for the tablet to install after setting it up, including an Android 10 security patch for Android released in December 2020. The Samsung Home screen is okay but I wish they’d offer a scrambled PIN login screen like LineageOS features. Also, in landscape mode the login number pad is a little uncomfortably small on the screen. I have tried sending this information to Samsung but won’t hold my breath over them acting on it.

Material wise, it’s an all metal chassis and feels weighty but is comfortable to hold because it is so thin. I have a JML Pill-O-Pad which I have been using it on though and it fits on that perfectly.

The only minor annoyance is the MicroSD card slot is next to redundant for anything other than portable media storage (music, video, photo etc. from PC and tablet content backup using Samsung Switch). You cannot format it as internal storage, Samsung have set the tablet up to prevent this. With 32GB (around 10GB of which is used by the operating system) it means you will eventually have to be a little selective over what apps, downloaded movies, books etc. you keep on the tablet.
