I purchased the 27″ and have been using this monitor as my main daily since early January (over 4 months now), so far i haven’t encountered a single problem, others have mentioned quality control issues so this may have been luck but so far it has been great

Despite being a VA panel the response time is on par with some IPS panels but much better colour especially since the monitor offers 10bit colour. The monitor has a very aggressive curve at 1000R however once you start to use the monitor it becomes unnoticeable.

Being a VA panel and curved, the viewing angles can slightly limit where you might sit at your desk, however i’ve still been more than happy watching shows on my monitor from other places in my room just like i would an IPS panel

The monitor out of the box can be quite bulky with the feet of the stand being fairly long, however it does offer a VESA mount option should you have one, I would recommend this to reclaim that extra desk space.

The only 2 downsides of this monitor is how long it takes to wake from sleep, the delayed time can be frustrating at times but it is still manageable, and if you have multiple monitors and let your pc sit for long enough they turn off, all applications will move to your primary monitor (on windows 10). This can be rectified using the PowerToys app FancyZone.

Other than these 2 small and manageable issues, this monitor is a wonderful at 1440p 240Hz and much cheaper than a QD-OLED. I would highly recommend.

No problems with device, great picture

he colours are better than my IPS monitor, I can see side-by-side.
blacks are amazing, better than anything I’ve seen before.
I don’t experience any sort of VA smear.
I seem to have lucked out and gotten a VA panel with all the upsides of great contrast and high refresh rate, low response time and without the downsides, love it…

I bought one monitor for 480. Swift delivery and premium packaging, great service. The monitor however, is a gamble as mine had a couple dead pixels (near the centre too) and had pretty poor back-light bleed, I returned it and bought another one hoping for a better panel. And it is! This monitor is fantastic if u get the jackpot panel. If you see a dead pixel don’t delay in returning and purchasing another. Good buy

    1) when i play games sometimes the monitor freezes and i cant move my character for around 3 seconds which can lead to devestation if you a competitive player.
    2) sometimes the monitor will have a water like effect where it will go from top to bottom, its not the game but the monitor itself, i have no clue why
    3) when i set up it didnt work, i plugged in dp cable and there was no respond, switched to another DP cable then another HDMI cable(showed display once then stopped). after that i used to original DP cable and it worked perfectly fine…and it still is so im not sure what the problem was.

This is a great screen to use. The refresh rate is superb, the clarity and colours are great. This is my first curved screen and after 10 minutes or so using it I didn’t see the curve any more. The clarity is really good and it has decent blacks too.

The only drawback is that with HDR enabled it takes time to alt-tab between games and desktop sometimes as it does something which turns the screen off and then back on. So it’s not easy to quickly alt-tab between something like Destiny 2 and DIM in Chrome, as it takes probably 3-4 seconds to switch over. I assume if you disable HDR it would be quicker, or run games in fullscreen window instead.

For Star Wars: The Old Republic I have to run the game in fullscreen window as often the display does not detect any signal despite me playing the game at the time and the screen then turns off and back on. Very odd, but easily fixed by not running in full screen.

I would recommend this screen for gaming as I enjoy the picture and having HDR does add something to games which support it. The OLED hasn’t given me any issues with the viewing angle, “bright blacks” or any screen tearing. Although I have an Nvidia GPU, so run this with v-sync off and G-Sync enabled.

    Delivered on time.
Well pack so little chance of damage.
The screen tilts and can be moved up and down.
There’s not much to dislike. If you want a curved screen with good resolution for gaming then this could be the one.

This is a good monitor, great size and picture quality is really good. Took a about 10 minutes to assemble single handedly with ease. I have now attached it to a Vesa mount again easily attached just be careful what type of mount you own, as the one i had for a different monitor needed the torque settings adjusted to handle this monitor due to its size.

As for gaming on this screen its very nice and crisp but i do have a little issue the blacks are a little washed even with adjusting the black equalizer, So just remember this is no IPS so blacks aren’t perfect.
Other than that the monitor is a 4/5. I got it on sale at 400 and was worth every penny.
Zero issues with dead pixels or flickering, and have owned it close to two months and had many gaming sessions in that period.
From a Asus VG248QE 2014> Iiyaama 27 2019″ red flag 2k > Samsung g7 2022 and the difference between these panels is night and day the samsung shows the leap in technology.

The monitor is great for my gaming purposes. The aggressive curve may put off some but I am used to it with my other Samsung G5 Ultrawide. Its great for games such as COD Warzone with its buttery smooth refresh rates. Although, at some darker areas may be harder to see because it is black if the color is meant to be black. But that is if you want the full immersion of the game. Coming from the 34inches, I think this 27inches looks small in terms of the view which I would recommend the 32inches instead. It comes with the O-ring adapter for 100×100 vesa mount so I mounted mine on a monitor arm. The monitor leg that came with it is pretty solid and nice, but it is too wide that it covers half of my computer table, so a monitor arm is recommended for this one. Everthing is been great so far, fast shipping, no dead pixels, almost unrecognizable light bleed. Will update the review in the future as for my usage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for gaming

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI wanted to wait til ive used this monitor for at least 2 months before i gave a review just incase of any issues etc but there has been none .
I’m not a gamer but wanted a better monitor for editing and watching movies etc .i tried benq and isus monitors but they were all useless .i tried 4k and ips panels and again i had so many problems with backlight bleeds, poor quality etc
so after some research i came across this monitor from samsung .it was a bit out of my ideal price range but i thought what the heck and I’m so glad i did .
    This monitor is brilliant
i was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews about the curve and having never owned one i was worried but i didn’t need to .The curve is hardly noticeable whilst watching movies and even makes them appear better and as for editing there was no problems at all .the curve actually helps as your eyes don’t have to dart about to much .
Right out of the box the picture quality and colours are really good but if you invest in a calibration tool as i did boy o boy the screen comes to life .The colours are so life like and i cant advised more to invest in one .
The 1440p quality is superb but for watching tv or movies download or stream in 4k and you wont lose out .
There is some minor backlight bleed which all monitors have but mine was only 3 outta 10 so not to bad at all .
hdr works fine but i guess the purest wont like it ,just make sure to go to windows hd color settings and adjust the brightness in there and obviously turn on hdr when you want to use it in windows .
as all panels are different u cant give settings for everyone but turn the sharpness down to 56 and red to 49 if you aren’t getting a calibration tool but i would highly recommend one even tho the stock set up is good .
all in all a brilliant monitor and i highly recommend it
    kudos samsung 🙂

This was my third monitor, after upgrading my pc, I had to upgrade my monitor,I played with a 3080 at 1080p 144hz ,coming to this where the picture quality is immensely better and fluidity of things has vastly improved,I don’t get ghosting on this monitor unlike my previous,I don’t have much experience with monitors but I personally love this one

Great monitor, brightness, image quality + array of settings are nice. You may have issues with flickering and tearing at first if you do not set the monitor to match your devices capabilities.

Lovely smooth screen. HDR is ok, but not great.
Also great resolution for work, and the curve is really good for making use of space.

My biggest problem is switching inputs. I have a laptop and my gaming pc plugged into this. If I last used my laptop but turn the power on and want to use my gaming pc it will immediately detect no input on the laptop and go into standby mode and pressing the power button will only wake it up 1 in 20 times… WHY?

Therefore I have to pull the power cable out and back in again to restart the monitor so I can change the input, despite I read it have auto input detection, but it won’t switch to the only active input source.

Obviously in the grand scheme of things this is minor. It’s just frustrating on what is otherwise an excellent device.

The curve on this screen is stronger than the average curved screen. I think its a bonus if you are a running a single screen setup and neutral if you are running two or more (which I am). It comes with its own rgb lights on the bottom and back of the screen which is nice if you like that. It has a lot of customization for the height/angle/rotation of the screen which is certainly useful where necessary. My other older Samsung screen has none of that. One thing that caught me off guard is that the base is very large and wide, so it doesnt fully fit on my desk. It hasnt been an issue for me but I didnt look into that befroe I bought it and it does like rather silly as it hangs off the edge. The picture quality is great I dont have much to say on that despite it being the most important aspect.

A really good monitor the only thing that let’s it down is that it only has one hdmi which could be a bit of a pain if you want to use more that one device with i

This monitor was not purchased on my account but on a different one but I thought I would give it a review to help people with their decision.
This is a great monitor I have had only one issue and it randomly turned it’s self off whilst I was doing some work on it but I have only had that once out of days of constant use.
This monitor has great quality and amazing colours thanks to its hdr600 supported screen.
The monitor does great for gaming for working and for even just watching YouTube or Netflix it is great in all of those areas.

It’s overall a great monitor! Came with 1 stuck pixel to the left (green+white), so I bought another because just the fact that it was there kind of annoyed me. My second monitor had no dead pixel but one grey-ish one (which I was worried could evolve into dead or more visible) and it had waaaayyyy worse banding. I figured that the terrible banding I originally had with the first monitor was in fact because I did not enable nVidia colour settings and had the default ones applied. Anyway, the second monitor had a lot worse banding, so I ended up keeping the first one. The pixel doesn’t really bother me anymore, and apart from the occasional banding (only in very select websites), gaming is fantastic! The cable management tab round the back was really hard to get to snap in and ended up breaking off, but I don’t really need it anyway, just sad to see the quality wasn’t top notch. There is nice RBG on the monitor round the back and on the front, and it looks very elegant. There is a bit non-uniform backlight bleed on the top right, but other than that it’s a great choice! Would recommend the 27″ model.

The image quality on this monitor is perfect.. it just is.

To get the best refresh rate you NEED to use DisplayPort which still throws your windows about should you ever need to turn the monitor off ( or resume from the Windows lock screen), but it takes FOREVER (legit ~20 seconds) to come back from DisplayPort standby and it often FREEZES my entire computer while it figures itself out.
You are provided with a plastic cover for the back ports (HDMI,DP etc..) [which is optional to put on] but it is made out of the cheapest plastic possible and will break very easily.

The On-Screen Display is quite nice to use.

There are many things perfect with this monitor and my main gripes don’t affect my enjoyment of the picture quality.

I have been heavily into monitors and after using a LG gl850 and it dying on me I wished to purchase a upgrade. And boy oh boy is this one. The monitor is a beast. Clean. I think there are a few things to say here.

The curve – some people will like it and some will hate it. Just like marmite. I thought initially I would hate it however as soon as received it I loved it. The curve does not bother me in anyway and being that I’m in front of my screen all the time I barely even notice. Even when watching movies from afar it’s great.

Display – great however as stated above these monitors are prone to having scan lines. I have currently had two of these monitors and all I have had is scan lines on cyan colours and bright colours at the top left of my screen. However these do not appear when on a moving picture so I’ll take it. You can try play the panel lottery of trying to find a panel without scanlines but that’s up to you, how much time you wish to spend – hence the lottery. The colours are great and not as saturated as the lg high end gaming panels but honestly a beautiful clean panel. Now being that this is a VA panel there are some local dimming zones. This literally competes with current IPS panels. However one down fall is that when watching movies that are in different aspect ratios you will see that dimming not working properly on some of the zones and therefore giving a light bleed effect. As I said this monitor is a beast. But even a beast has its draw backs. Display however is amazing and with 240hz and crystal clear 1440p it’s great. I have noticed some ghosting however so keep that in mind. Nothing major.

The design. The stand is amazing. A proper cable tidying system built into the monitor stand, I love it as it allows for a clean set up. Keep in mind that the stand is big for this monitor so make sure you have enough room. The ambient lighting isn’t distracting either. You have a choice of some colours however I stick with static red for mine due it matching my sennheiser set up. You’ll get away with it not looking overly gamish. There is a small bezel around the monitor so if you’re looking to dual monitor these it won’t be completely seamless.

Overall so far, I love this monitor. 240hz 1440p I can’t go wrong. Even with its draw backs it’s still the best you can buy and being that it’s only competitor is Alienware with their 1440p 240hz IPS panel, at least these monitors are in stock and are cheaper. Pull the trigger and see if you like it. HDR and so on I have seen as being useless but that’s not exactly my remit.

Easy to unbox and install, instructions were mainly diagrams so not lots of stuff to read through.

Windows 10 setup was interesting. At first, I was wowed by the quality, image clarity, response times, all via the calibrated factory settings. Then, by using the easy to use and navigate OSD menu (there is just one clickable joystick at the bottom of the screen), I was able to experiment with the various settings, including some of the more “sought after” features: adaptive sync (tested as totally G-Sync compatible with my Nvidia RTX graphics card), my new first-hand experiences with HDR gaming and viewing motivated me to do a bit of “research” on these technologies…

After a couple of days of occasional tweaking settings, based on “expert opinions” as well as my own liking, I found out how to use specific settings (a combination of Windows 10 settings, Nvidia settings and OSD settings) for the perfect picture – depending on the work or gaming I was doing.

Material and build quality is great. I’m loving the curve (my first curved monitor), it feels so much more natural at 1000R, but opinions on this may differ.

    I’m a very happy custome

My son is very happy with sumsung g7 odyssey curved monitor But the stand feet to me are way to much very long feet you will need a decent size desk just for the stand. Apart from that very good would have put 5 stars if not for the stand be way to big

  24. Anonymous says:

Great contrast, the image looks much sharper and clearer than the IPS panel! The response time is great and the movement looks very smooth.
The disadvantage is that the color uniformity of the screen is not very good, causing some solid-color interfaces to have visible edges and whitening, especially when you open some interfaces/software with a gray overall appearance.
The aggressive curve is indeed ergonomic, but you need some time to get used to it.
The stand looks too cumbersome, but this ensures that the monitor can stand stably on the desktop. It is best to buy a vesa stand to make the desktop more tidy.
The HDR effect is great, but the brightness is not enough to make some highlights stand out. Overall, it’s great value for money!

Great monitor. I stepped down from 4k as I wanted a better performance (hz) for the games I was playing.
In all honesty you need to look very close to the screen to see the difference side by side… Quality of this panel is absolutely top notch. But of course there are some points to nitpick about like back-light sometimes bleeding during certain parts like back screen and mouse cursor. You can see the edges of the screen light up. But 99% of the time I do not notice it as your immersed into the game.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersA lot of people overlook a monitor when building a PC, heck some of my friends have used the same monitor for over a decade, certainly I hadn’t upgraded my monitor in around the same time – so it was with trepidation that I went for the top end Odyssey in 27 inchs. Thankfully however all the excellent reviews on the internet have proven to be true, the Odyssey is a really phenomenal screen.

It took more assembling then expected, you will need a screwdriver and it has a large power-brick to take into consideration, but once its on the desk (and it certainly takes up some space!) it looks astonishing, with its sweeping curve. It has two little front facing lights below the screen and a large light on the back, they can be easily customized. These look great unless you are the one sitting in front of the screen so I rarely have them on.

With the curve, viewing angles for others are poor (if you are couch co-op for example) but for one player, its amazing immersion, games such as Elite Dangerous, Genshin Impact, Forza Horizons 4 and Homeworld (games with great color/lighting) look particularly phenomenal.

The monitor supports up to 240Hz, but the simple fact is most games don’t reach such lofty heights (yet) and to hit those numbers on the 2K resolution will need a beefy graphics card (which are all out of stock). With my 1070Ti I’m hitting frame rates between 60 and 120 and thats good enough (for now). Note if you want to use G-Sync or benefit from the higher resolution you will probably have to use a DisplayPort rather then a HDMI cable.

Note this monitor does not have speakers of any kind. It does have a useful wire controller that goes down the stand. There are some USB ports and a headphone jack in the monitor but I don’t use these. The UI interface in the monitor is easy to use and lets you change between a number of settings, however its good to go from the start in my opinion. No dead pixels on my screen.

In conclusion, this is an amazing bit of tech, for the price its worth it, if you are used to a ‘standard’ monitor, it will transform your games, films and TV shows for the better. Enjoy.

The monitor is fantastic overall after I tested against my PC and PS5. If you’re buying this solely for the HDR element for next gen console gaming, then don’t as it simply isn’t playable.

HDR on console is a big issue with this monitor. When in use and HDR active on my PS5 it’s far too dark to the point it’s unplayable. Although you shouldn’t be using a monitor for console gaming for its HDR aspect, turn HDR off on the console then select RGB output to full or max and you’ll get a picture as good or better than HDR on this monitor.

Also getting a 144hz output on PS5 with full 240HZ on PC which is fantastic.
